Onmitsukido Plot : Age of the Fall
Sun Apr 17, 2011 7:37 pm
Seven years ago, The Onmitsukido Commander-in-Chief sent Ryuuichi Nakajima, a relatively inexperienced, but equally unknown shinigami alone to chase another of his kind that had plans to defect to go and side with the Demons, apparently having many reasons to hate Soul Society and the Gotei. Ryuuichi never hesitated to take the mission, knowing that it was most likely what would help him get noticed as an outstanding shinigami by his superiors, but by the ones above too, knowing that a mission involving a defection was never to be taken lightly. When it came to putting their guys in a cell, shinigamis usually were the best to go and hunt down their own loose ends.
When Ryuuichi went to the complete briefing, he was surprised to see that he was being handled a very important mission. The defector was trying to go and give the demons confidential information about many of Soul Society’s research projects, but also about some of the defence protocols of the Gotei. What seemed to be a routine mission for Ryuuichi was slowly turning into a double edged blade for the Shinigami. He had two options. Either succeed, and things would only go up from that point, or fail, and most likely get executed so that Soul Society would have someone to blame. However, Ryuuichi wasn’t nearly taking into account the possibility that he could fail. He had a few good plans in mind, and he would make sure that he’d succeed in his task, leaving the Commander-in-chief’s office with a grin that nearly went from ear to ear.
His Captain had told him to wait for the signal, which was as evident as it could be. Ryuuichi had been ordered to fake being undisciplined, so that the Commander-in-chief himself would reprimand him, and have him under tight surveillance. His guess was that the extended surveillance on his subordinate would trigger the traitor’s defection, seeing Ryuuichi’s problems as his chance to get away, without one very loyal Onmitsukido member having a chance to get to do anything about it. Once the Commander-in-chief would get word, he would immediately send Ryuuichi after him, hoping to catch the defector, Hidetomo, before he could do anything that could put Soul Society in danger.
And the Commander-in-chief’s plan happened exactly like he thought it would. He saw Hidetomo’s smile when Ryuuichi was being openly reprimanded. He also saw him sneak out at night, seemingly scouting to prepare his escape, also going to try and see Ryuuichi’s room, to make sure he wasn’t being played. Hidetomo and Ryuuichi had never been the best friends. Ryuuichi was always striving to go higher, and was training nearly day and night to reach his goals. Hidetomo, on the other hand, was a slacker, and many times his actions were reckless, and dangerous for the rest of the team, and he never did seem to take care about it, something that pissed off Ryuuichi, since he was often the one who had to take care of his fellow shinigami’s many loose ends.
Ryuuichi was in his room, under tight surveillance when the signal to go out came. A Hell butterfly made its way on his shoulder as soon as he took his Zanpakuto and tied it to his sash. He was getting out of the room as he was listening the message from his Captain. They had tracked down Hidetomo for him, so that the defector wouldn’t have too much of a headstart on him, even if there was one slight issue with their plan. Hidetomo had managed to put his hands on an orange box, and was most likely going to use that to go to the demon world once he would be alone. Luckily, the Commander-in-chief had managed to make a few calls and get one, which was well on its way to Ryuuichi. As he was catching up to Hidetomo, another shinigami went at his side, giving him a small parcel, an Orange box from the Commander-in-chief, so that Ryuuichi could follow Hidetomo.
As soon as he saw his rival, he knew that he was already too late, as he saw the portal created by the orange box close itself with Hidetomo inside. Ryuuichi quickly took care to program the destination to the demon world, he would find Hidetomo there, sooner or later...
Several minutes after entering the dimensional gate, Ryuuichi came to his senses, and was barely given a chance to get up, as he saw Hidetomo and someone else besides him, the both of them looking at Ryuuichi.
“You would have done better staying in Soul Society, and not meddling in my own business, Nakajima. All that will happen now is that you will be killed, and the Commander-in-chief will not be able to thwart my plans, and prevent me from making my pact with the demons, to eliminate the Onmitsukido permanently, before moving on to bigger skies.” Hidetomo told Ryuuichi who was getting up, looking around him, seeing only the two men, and what seemed to be some kind of structure, maybe a base, maybe simply a house.
Hidetomo and the demon immediately dashed towards Ryuuichi, attempting to double team him, something that the Onmitsukido member wasn’t too fond of. A simple punch to the chest was enough to get Hidetomo to his knees for a while, leaving him the chance to take care of the demon. It didn’t took fifteen minutes for Ryuuichi to get rid of both of them, with both the demon and Hidetomo lying on the ground, the demon was still conscious, unlike Hidetomo. As Ryuuichi was going to give them the final blow, the demon screamed for him to stop, asking him to answer one last question before he killed him. The shinigami agreed, and the demon asked only one simple thing : The shinigami’s name. Ryuuichi looked at him, and at the incapacitated shinigami, before accepting to answer.
“Ryuuichi Nakajima...Onmitsukido.” He told the demon, as his fists rained down on the demon, finishing him. He took care to restrain Hidetomo, before using his Orange box to go back to the Gotei, to have him trialed and executed. Little did he know that the ‘base’ he saw was inhabited by a demon, who was observing his scuffle...And that demon would enjoy getting revenge at him. That demon’s name was...Katsuhiko Nakajima.
