PERSONALITY

Adelaide didn't really have one many people would consider a personality. Traits, characteristics and beliefs. She had them, even felt strongly about some things, it was just that, unfortunately, they held little regard in the grand scheme of her life. Sadness and joy, excitement and apathy, whatever you'd assume the average woman to express she tended to hold with little to no importance for herself. After all, after the time spent growing up with her secluded family all she learned was to be kind to one another.

With that kindness, of course, came anger. Those against her beliefs, primarily tied to however much emotion she holds for humankind, tend to gain the gaze of her ire. That ire, often seen as the calm before a storm, comes in waves and is always without condition. Humans, something she was taught far too early in life, was something that she couldn't help express the little passion she was capable of mustering for. Herself, brothers and sisters across the world, even those who won't see life for many years to come, everything she did was for their future. A future that, Adelaide hoped, would come to fruition someday.

Aside from what she saw as necessary anger and her unapologetic kindness to humans, Adelaide wasn't just apathetic to life. Really, the incessant solitude of her upbringing and lack of emotional interaction with others left her unable to express herself appropriately. Normal emotions, as expected of most, was something entirely foreign for her. Nevertheless, under the guise of "normalcy", Adelaide always puts on a front. A sly smile, a set of pursed lips or a resting face of disinterest, whatever someone needed to see was what they'd receive. In the confines of her own space, however, with those she could consider close, it was a different story.

In the personal reaches of her life, Adelaide was fiery and uncontrollable. As if a switch was flipped, the bi-polar girl is known to lash out, whether in excitement or through anger. Like a child locked away for years on end, Adelaide was the epitome of emotion only to her truest of friends and family.

HISTORY

NAUTRAL ABILITIES

Better Than The Rest Intelligence:

Though Adelaide was far from a genius, she wasn't remotely comparable to the average human, quincy or otherwise. Logically speaking, Adelaide has always leaned closer to the analytical side of intelligence rather than the street smart perspective. Filled with the knowledge of whatever books she pilfered from her father's lounge or the local residents of her tiny German village, the young lady was very apt when it came to retaining whatever it was sent her way.

Aside from being logically intelligent, Adelaide has also presented an above average usage of her intelligence through combat as a medium. Having an innate understanding and a fine tuned ability to express that understanding through practical example has led her to be, for lack of a better term, a commander on the battlefield. Capable of controlling swathes of units to the mechanics of her own abilities in tandem to an opponent's own power set, Adelaide has always been top of her class when it came combat and the brains required for it.

Supernaturally Average Strength and Speed:

Without the addition of her custom Blut, Adelaide has for all intents and purposes an average level of Strength and Speed. As far as being compared to other spiritual beings, she possesses the general ability to match most normal spiritual beings in a contest of strength and speed. Conversely, however, where her speed and strength lacks, her reflexes have been honed like a knife's edge. Aside from that, however, Adelaide is truly as common as common gets when it comes to physical prowess.

Ringen Expert:

As a passing down of tradition from the Noske family, her Great Grandfather that is, she was taught at an early age to study and train in the art of Ringen. In simple terms, Adelaide's Great Grandfather taught her the special art of German Grappling, a type of martial art that originally developed in the age of the early Renaissance. Coming with the general understanding of swordsmanship, Ringen focuses on the ability to grapple and submit an opponent using the momentum of their weight as a focus. While the focus of Ringen was primarily grappling and submission, Adelaide was also taught the basic process of hand to hand combat in tandem to her grappling. Whether using her strength or the opponent's body against themself, the woman has a significant advantage when it comes to combat with any average fighter given her expertise.

RACIAL ABILITIES

Trained Quincy:

Aside from Kreuzen, Adelaide is as trained as the average quincy can be in other aspects of her race. Her Blut ability being trained well enough to use both styles, Gebet being well understood enough for her to cast graded spellcraft without necessarily struggling in terms of the basics and Steigen being known well enough to actually move with the ability. As well versed as she may be in these topics, she rarely strays from the current average amongst her kind. Even in the case of these averages however, Adelaide has a fundamental knowledge of her race's concepts and abilities to a degree that allows for her to converse and teach others without actively putting into practice the information she contains.

Aschenkreuz (Kreuzen):

Aschenkreuz, known as Ashen Cross, is Adelaide's unique form of Kreuzen that came along with her birth as a child. Unlike the average quincy, Adelaide was born alongside her spirit weapon, Aschenwelle. Appearing from thin air at her birth, Aschenwelle and Adelaide grew in tandem with one another for the some odd years she has lived. With this came training from a very, very young age with her spirit weapon. As if connected to her very soul, the young lady and Aschenwelle have always held an unshakable bond. Because of this bond, Adelaide has always had an innate ability to access and train herself in Letzt Stil, unfortunately due to her unstable Reiryoku, she has had little success in exploring the form and its benefits.

Aside from these general notes, Aschenkreuz also allows for Adelaide to always have access to her spirit weapon. No matter the time, place, condition of her being or spiritual reserves, Aschenwelle can be summoned to her side at a moment's notice. Alongside that, she also has explicit control of the weapon in a telekinetic sense, being able to use it both physically and with her mind. Finally, an additional effect granted by this unique form of Kreuzen, she can materialize and dematerialize her spirit weapon during combat at a minor cost to her energy reserves, making it so she can upend her opponent's and throw them off balance when they clash.

Blut Vene Aufstieg:

Blut Vene Aufstieg, better known as Blut Ascension to the young lady, is a byproduct Blut from Adelaide's inability to control her Reiryoku. With that comes the fortunate expansion of her Blut as an offensive tool. Alongside her expansive Reiryoku and constant exertion of it, Blue Vene Aufstieg takes her own spiritual power and expresses it in a fine-tuned manner. Rather than a constant exertion during combat, Aufstieg allows for Adelaide's Reiryoku to be refocused and adjusted throughout her physical being at a rapid rate. With this comes a general increase in strength, speed and reaction and comes almost second nature to her, being more a state of being when in combat than an ability that is activated and deactivated. In the case of combat, Adelaide has the ability to turn it on and off at a moment's notice without repercussion and, in most cases, is fueled entirely off her Reiryoku.

In extreme cases that would account for extended fights, Adelaide can only use this Blut for a total of ten post before the entirety of her Reiryoku is drained from usage. This only accounts for the usage of her own Reiryoku and is unaffected by the strength or size of Reishi around her.

An important note is that while Adelaide does not use both forms of Blut, she is capable of using either due to her quincy training. In this case, she prefers to almost exclusively use Aufstieg as it is something of her own creation.

SPIRIT WEAPON

» Spirit Weapon Name: Aschenwelle (Ashen Wave)

» Spirit Weapon Appearance: While Adelaide isn't using Aschenwelle as a weapon, it takes the form of a simple ring that she has attached at all times on the pinky of her right hand. Sporting an insignia similar to the Seal of Solomon, Aschenwelle is nearly always active when Adelaide is awake. In the case that she for some reason isn't wearing the weapon as a ring, it takes the shape of a thin rope around her ankle, inconspicuous and simple in design.

When brought into its weapon state, Aschenwelle takes the simple form of a spear of general make and size. Nearly the size of the small lady, the grand majority of its material is wood with a winged-spear tip. The wings of the spear tip are significantly sharper than of a normal spear and also takes the shape of a hook rather than a simple square on either side.

» Spirit Weapon Abilities:

Reishi Medium:

As always, Aschenwelle is primarily used as a medium for Adelaide's ability to manipulate and attack using the Reishi around her. Unlike your average quincy however, Aschenwelle takes the Reishi around her and amplifies the abilities conjured with it using the Reiryoku she has access to. In the short term, abilities generally have higher explosive power than your average quincy and are significantly larger in scale as well. In the long term however, Aschenwelle's ability to amplify abilities actively drains her energy resources significantly faster as well. Unlike the average quincy, Adelaide's primary fighting energy is used via her Reiryoku rather than the Reishi around her. As if he supplement her own Reiryoku, Reishi is only really a buffer in the case of Adelaide's abilities. While she may hit harder, faster and in a more explosive fashion, she also drains herself quicker than one would expect of any quincy, let alone one of her strength.

Due to the inability to control her overwhelming Reiryoku, Adelaide hasn't unlocked her Letzt Stil yet.

I. Role Play Sample

INTENT

» Character Intent:

My intent with Adelaide is to offer a Quincy that isn't directly affiliated with the Vandenreich (Wahrender) and has a certain aggression towards spiritual races that aren't derived from Humans. While she isn't necessarily going out of her way to attack spiritual races on Earth, she is actively choosing to not associate and create her own grouping or, maybe even a faction later down the line, of members that are human and human-derived. Obviously I don't have direct expectations but I would at the very least like for her to be a catalyst for others if they want to engage in human/human-adjacent race focused plot, especially with the changes happening in the Soul Society and on Earth with the Vandenreich. She also isn't necessarily overwhelmingly strong. I do however want the basis of her power and general makeup to be that she has an extreme amount of Reiryoku that she struggles to control and learn to grow with. Obviously I'm not expecting anything crazy, I just think its really important to be able to "make moves" despite the circumstance of her powers.
