Re: Contact With Contact [Yuri, Momo]

She tensed her shoulders and felt her brows furrow as she shook her head. "We shouldn't HAVE to hope! All whilst these .... IDIOTS all scrabble over ... Honor and ... NONSENSE!" Yuri sighed exasperatedly, now pacing a bit in place as she rubbed her forehead and her expression tensed. "The nobles are hard over the idea of being back in charge. And the OTHERS are so focused on stopping the nobles, that they aren't paying heed to the REAL problems that will crop up." She muttered with furrowed brows. "You don't know these nobles, Momo. The Head of my Household tells me plenty about them. But in reality, she's no better than they are." She murmured, thinning her lips as she then turned to look to the once shinigami. And her body untensed, at least a little bit, realizing she'd gotten a bit heated.
"They had plenty of chance to contact me. I was working on putting people back together for the last several days. At least I know Miss Kuchiki isn't like them.... actually stuck to her job." She murmured quietly. She definitely could tell they maybe didn't have the best opinion of her. They had that 'I can smell the intent on you' vibe to them. But even so, Yuri respected them.
On the subject of Toki she sighed and shook her head. "Now he applies himself. Hmmm.." She trailed for a moment and thought it over. "Well, hopefully he enjoys himself some. Do keep an eye on him though. Times like these, lots of girls look for something strong and sturdy to latch onto. And your son is a very reliable guy." She smirked a bit to herself. Thinking of all the patients that had looked at her with adoration and thanks. Heh.
"Hm...." she paused for a moment, and briefly, pondered what Toki would do in her situation. He was a little piss boy for sure, but he DID know what his priorities were. What should she do about .. her own priorities? Did she... REALLY want to stick around here while they all played tug of war with the remnants of the gotei? Or.... should she just... leave.
She looked at Hinamori for a moment.
And it really sucked that she couldn't think of a way she could get Hinamori to go with her. "When you were a shinigami. Back in the day. You ever get stationed on earth?" She asked, an uncharacteristically gentle tone to her voice.

MOMO HINAMORI
For a moment or two, it seemed that Yuri was going to go into a full on rant regarding the nobility and Momo mentally prepared herself to hear it but as soon as it started, it came to an end, much to the Ex Lieutenant's relief. She was concerned enough about Yuri’s well-being and seeing her in such a stressed out state was honestly painful for Momo to watch. The stress was definitely getting to Yuri and the dark haired woman couldn’t help but feel her unease increase. “If that is how it is then leave them to their squabbling and focus on what’s important.” She replied simply. Honestly, the nobility was for the most part, not a favourite topic of Momo’s either.
She did, however, give a brief opinion when Yuri mentioned the Captain of what was the 2nd Squad, a thoughtful looking look crossing Momo’s features. “Rukia has always been kind and I’m most glad that she’s the one holding the fort, so to speak. She’s been through so much and I consider a friend, I just hope that…the incidents regarding Kurosaki aren’t plaguing her.” It was a foolish hope in truth and she wasn’t sure why she’d even said it. Of course it was going to sting horribly and as Momo briefly thought back to her own past, she couldn’t help but find similarities, much to her unhappiness.
She noticeably blinked when the topic changed to her son and Momo did her best to hide a smile from her features as Yuri spoke. “He works so hard that I’m not sure he’d even notice to be honest. Once he’s in the zone these days, everything else seems to fall away to the side. I appreciate the advice and will do my best to watch over him.”
A tilt of the head was her initial reaction as Yuri asked a rather unexpected question, which took a few moments for Momo to ponder the answer. “I never did a long assignment on Earth although I was always fond of visiting. I must admit that I always loved shopping there with my friends and I miss not being able to travel there. It was almost as though I could forget my troubles and relax whenever I was there. Why do you ask?”

Yuri raised a brow and smiled at Momo. Well, she was at least glad that Momo agreed. She WAS fairly tired after all, so there was alwaays room for self doubt. But, at least in this moment, she was experiencing at least what FELT like Clarity. All the running around, and then the 'expectations' that were in place going forward when it came to all of this political nonsense. She wanted nothing of it. Perhaps it was selfish, no it was definitely selfish. But she'd never asked for any of this shit. And it was comforting at least, to have Hinamori validate those feelings.
"Honestly, I don't know if shes that big a fan of me. But .... if you do know her. it might not be a bad idea to check on her." She murmured. She wasn't going to pretend she knew what was going on with that woman. But she seemed exhausted. Perhaps a visit from Momo might.... at least shed some light on the situation. Especially if Kurosaki was a part of that.
Though at the mention of Toki not noticing, she paused and considered that. "I don't really doubt that. Still, he's a handsome kid. Some girls might not let that deter them." She thinned her lips a bit. Especially those academy student girls. Or Fourth Division girls. Ughh. Some of those weirdos were a little ... overenthused.
"Sorry, that was a little out of nowhere. Just, ya know. If I go through with it, might not see soul society for a while. I know we aint exactly best friends, but it's nice the couple times we've talked." She noted and folded her arms under her bust, sighing lightly. "Just also kinda envy ya. Wish I was nearly as happy with my family here as you are."

MOMO HINAMORI
It was a good suggestion and Momo briefly considered the idea. She’d promised herself to try and reconnect with those that she’d fallen out of contact with after all and the dark haired woman couldn’t help but feel that deep down Rukia probably was struggling. To be betrayed by someone so dear was an experience that Momo unfortunately knew too much about and the scars that it left behind could remain for…longer that one would hope. “I’ll do my best to check up on her. Right now, she’s going to need all the friends she has.” Momo answered with a nod.
Momo actually found herself chuckling as the topic returned to Toki. “I’d be the first one to cheer him on if he did find someone to share his life with but right now, that does seem to be rather far from his mind. Don’t worry though, I’ll make sure that any groupies know the score.” While her tone was as friendly as ever, there was a touch of natural protectiveness too.
To hear Yuri’s news caused the smile to fade a touch but Momo would encourage the woman nonetheless. “I’ll miss you while you’re gone if you do go through with it but perhaps getting away from the Soul Society will be beneficial, yeah? A chance to get away from all of the garbage and clear your head.”
She’d paused again then before adding regarding family. “Trust me. It hasn’t been easy for the Hinamori family either and we’ve certainly gone through our fair amount of difficulties as well. All we can do is make the most of the good times and ride through the bad ones.”
A smile returning to her face, she’d say. “Remember though that if you ever need somewhere to go or someone to talk to, you’re always welcome to visit me if you’re in the area.”

Yuri put on a bit of a pleased smile as it seemed Hinamori would take a moment to possibly check on Rukia. Good, she ...wasn't really the comforting type. Well, not for people like rukia at least, but knowing someone would look after her was a bit comforting. All the more the confirmation that Hinamori would be on the lookout for any ticks trying to op onto Toki.
Good. That boy was certainly sharp, but she had a feeling that when it came to women he might be ...... vulnerable to certain tactics. And it'd be a damn shame if that boy had some tramp holding him down. And she put on a rather pleased smile knowing he was to be looked after. Sure, she ...hadn't exactly spent a long time looking after him, but well. Between her conversations with him and getting to know his mom, she was a bit invested she supposed.
Still, as Hinamori offered that little olive branch, she couldn't help but smile and do something she rarely did. Stepping in, she gently pulled Hinamori into a hug and sighed. "Ugh, why couldn't I have met you years ago? It would have been so much easier having someone to talk to like this. Ah well, no helping it now. I don't know for sure, I wanna get some rest before I make any decisions. But If you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know where I headed off to." She noted with a grin and a wink.

MOMO HINAMORI
As Momo was pulled into the hug, a smile would cross her features, her arms wrapping around Yuri in return and returning it. It seemed to be the season for hugs and the dark haired woman certainly had no issue with that. In truth, she was simply glad that she was finally forming some new friendships again, having spent so long in her own little friendship group. There was a long way to go before she would become the cheery Momo of yesteryear but it didn’t feel like it was out of her grasp anymore.
When they broke apart, she’d answer, her smile bright. “Well, whatever you decide to do, make sure to get plenty of rest, you hear? Take care of yourself otherwise you’ll have me to answer to.” She very much sounded like she’d gone into ‘Momma Mode’ there but she spoke so cheerfully that it might have seemed more humorous than serious. Still, she meant well.
