Daydream Believer [Tsubine/Hono]
Sun Oct 27, 2024 6:24 pm
No one could claim that the head of the Shirazumi-rengokai wasn't hands-on. He was helping the innkeeper who so graciously allowed him to operate out of with a problem. This problem was the building behind the inn. It was at risk of collapsing, and it needed to be torn down. Bored with paperwork and research, Tsubine cast off his jacket, vest, and even undershirt to work up a sweat and break some charred wood.
Tsubine swung a silvery hammer and broke off a split post. It was but one of many former supports that needed to be culled. It was now time for the hardest part. He called for the men to fall back before the hammer in his hand changed shape. The entire front facade of the building was free-standing and needed to be brought down. The silvery hammer changed into a long katana. He placed it at his waist as if there were a sheath capable of holding it there. He focused his mind and his Reiryoku and... slash. A clean horizontal line of light peeked through near the bottom. He tapped the wall with the tip of the blade. The wall creaked before...
A loud crash echoed throughout the area as a large cloud of dust rose. The former facade stretched from one side of the street to the other like a bridge of rubble. As he wiped dust and sweat from his eyes, Tsubine noticed a flash of color. A very distinct color. "Hey, wait a minute..." On the street was someone he had actually been hoping to find. "Hono Kaen, right? Did J send you over here? Man, he works fast..."

"Hono Kaen" | Passionate Flame
Man. The past couple of days had just been some of the most intense Hono had had. When the attack happened she had to fight and was injured, putting her out of commission for a couple of hours. As soon as she was able to stand she was out of the hospital and first checked in the Rukongai for her family who were thankfully fine. Next, she checked for all of the people she considered friends, Kaito was gone, and Hono was GOING to make sure he got back in one piece.
After reuniting with J she stayed in the Rukongai helping around with what she could, making small meals, rebuilding minor damages, and clearing rubble. What the Sixth would have done anyway.
As she went to approach Tsubine she fanned away all the dust, coughing just a bit, Hono was watching from just behind, only there for a couple of minutes. “Yep~ Good to see yah again.” She folded her arms. “Glad to hear you’re alright…” She sighed before moving towards Tsubine.
“I’ve been helping J. I’ve been doing my best to provide food and support.” Hono sighed as she looked at the rubble around them. “This… all just… fucking sucks” It was hard to put it in bigger words.
“Whatcha need me to do?” She shook her head, before asking that, focusing more so on her duties at hand.

Tsubine stretched and slid the hammer over his shoulders. He, too, was glad to see someone else he knew that had survived this. "Sorry 'bout that. If I had seen you, I'd've told you to clear out. Glad you didn't get hit by that though." He was glad to hear that she had been helping. That meant her heart was in the right place—especially in regards to his own machinations.
Tsubine thought for a moment. "Hmm... If you want to help, I think the next step is cleaning this up. You up for some lifting?" Whether or not she was, Tsubine shifted the hammer to one hand. It shifted forms to a three-pronged claw at the end of a chain. That hammer was, in fact, his Zanpakutō. He swung the claw and grabbed a chunk of debris from the far end. He then started pulling the debris to the same side. "And yeah, it does suck. Your family good? They were in... 10 North, right?"

With a light laugh, Hono would tease Tsubine. “You think a little rubble would put me down so easily~” The Shinigami would nudge the man, looking towards Tsubine. “I’m not gonna sit around and let the people suffer you know?”
“Hell yeah!” She was eager to get working, wanting to get help as soon as always. Hono would walk and pick up some of the debris, she tried to carry it to wherever Tsubine pushed her. Throwing it over one shoulder.
“Yeah. Thankfully. Everyone got out okay. So I’m gonna go back there and help out the 10th as soon as I can…” She was shocked to see that Tsubine remembered exactly where Hono’s family was.

Tsubine admired Hono's spirit; it was one of the things that showed him promise in the newer Gotei generations. Once one chunk of plaster and wood was in his pile, he made his way to grab another with his Zanpakutō. "That's good. I hear the upper districts got hit pretty hard from some Hollow. If y'all don't feel safe, there's always space in 66 West. I could find your folks somewhere they'd like." And that led to another question—one he had expected J to ask, but he needed the answer himself. "So... What's your thought on the whole Gotei disbanding thing? You gonna go back to your family, or you got plans?"

The Shinigami was already getting to work, chucking and hauling rubble around. With a very light smile, she nodded towards Tsubine. “Yeah. I’d like that. Depends on what they want, but I’ll get back to you if they want!” She spoke as she kept on working.
She paused and thought about Tsubine’s question. “I wanna figure out what J’s doing, might follow his lead. He’s a whole lot smarter than me” She lightly giggled. “But, I think I’ll take a break, at least for a bit. Relax and see what takes the Gotei’s place”
