Head In The Clouds

Zack Williams slowly opened his eyes. Was he finally there? He looked around as his vision became more clear. Yes! They were close. He could see the district of Karakura that was located in the sky. He couldn't wait to get up there. This was the first time he would be up there and since it was in the sky it was a place that reminded him of his old home. He could still remember the place before Nikilo's very clearly. Sometimes these memories made him homesick but then he would remind himself that he left that place for a good cause. He couldn't wait to learn more about his abilities but for now the only task this fifteen year old had was to relax. He smiled as the slowly exited the tube and entered the place called Sukai Karakura.

As soon as he left the tube he felt the wind hit him. It made his long white hair which had thick spikes flow in whichever direction it was going. His brown eyes scanned the area he was in. He saw many people just like down in Karakura. There wasn't many differences between the sky city and the city on regular ground. He was about to just walk around and explore this unknown terrain and then his stomach growled. It had been a pretty long ride up there and so he decided he would find a place that had some food. Whether he would take it out or sit in was undecided. he just knew he needed something to fill the emptiness in his stomach. He picked up his pace to a nice jog while he glanced left and right for a food place.

He was usually aware but since hunger was clouding his mind he almost bumped into a few people. He was used to the sentence that they said after the maneuvered out of his way. Things like, "Watch out kid!" or "Move out the way short stuff." he just gave them a scowl. He wasn't a kid! He was fifteen! Then again he probably looked like a kid since he was only 5'1. Zack was wearing a tight, black, sleeveless shirt and blue jeans that could turn into shorts if you unzipped the zipper that was below the knees. He kept dodging and glancing hoping that he would get a chance to fill this emptiness in his stomach soon...

Mai had a soccer game to attend to at the sky town of Kakura. It was so large that her eyes couldnt even see he end of it. She thought it would be nice to live there were that thing could not get in bother her, but it made her worry too much. She was here to make new friends and win a soccer game. The bus was parked into a tube and was elevated up towards the sky town. She did notice that there was not a single hollow in sight, it made her happy becuase these people could live happily unlike her self. Mai grabbed her arm remembering her dark scary past that haunts her to this day. The bus was now on the road of Kakura town and the bus came for a break at a resturant.

Mai got off the bus and looked around, " It must be rush hour..........".
It was turly rush hour, hundreads of people filled the streets of Kakura, coming from work and heading home. In some cases it was coming from home to work. Rush hour always causes hell on streets, it often causes accidents that useally never ment to happen. Life ends everynow and then but wene will hers end noone knew. She then saw a boy walking through the crowd looking a little hungery. Mai waved at him and got on her skateboard and skated to him.

Zack did a quick spin more around a "big boned" guy and stopped because he saw someone waving. He looked around to make sure the person was waving at him. He titled his head to the side like a confused dog which was a bad habit of his when he was confused or asked a question. He watched as the girl skated towards him. He wondered who this was. Had he met the person before? Probably not. Most people that Zack had been around in Karakura were nice unless you looked like a threat. This fifteen year old didn't look like one and he probably didn't have much potential of being a threat yet. He didn't really know how to use his powers a lot yet so he was kind of harmless. He put on a friendly smile and waved as the girl got closer to him.

He stopped waving suddenly because his stomach let out a loud growl. He clinched it with hope that it would make it stop. It seemed like he had eaten not to long ago so why was he still hungry now? He tried to think back but hunger clouded his mind. He shrugged it off. People said he ate a lot anyway but he never seemed to grow any bigger width wise or height wise. The doctor has said that his adult height would be between what he was now and 5'3. This made Zack a little sad because being short had it's disadvantages. Always having to ask people to help you with reaching things and having to look up at people a lot taller then you. Then again, being short had it's advantages as well so he guessed it balanced out. Anyway, Zack finally spoke, "Hello. How are you today?" he asked. That seemed like the right way to start a friendly conversation...

Mai grabbed the kid with white hair and put him on her back as she skateboarded to the bus so he wouldnt get killed by the rush hour. She let him off and looked at him, a growling sound was made and she laughed a bit. On her knees she said, " Hello! I'm good but you seem hungery. I brought some yen so if you whanna eat you can come with me and get something." she said nicly handing him some yen for food. Out came a pink brush out of her back pack, she started brushing her hair over and over again. The resturant was only three feet away and everyone else had already gone inside.

"Wahh" was all the boy could say as he was pulled on the girls skateboard. Surprised, Zack almost lost his balance. He regained it fairly quickly and looked around. Why had this girl done this? Where was she taking him. This was getting his heart beat going a little faster as they did what Zack had been doing. They dodged people except this time Zack was going way faster. Finally they got to where ever that girl was taking him. It was a bus. He titled his head to the side like a confused dog again. The questions going through his head were soon answered. He glanced down at his stomach. He hated how loud the growl that came from it usually was. His eyes widened as he saw her pull out some yen and give it to him.

"Thanks." was all eh could say at first. This girl didn't even know him but she gave him money for food. This was a truly nice person or at least she was in Zack's eyes. Now that he thought about it he didn't bring any money with him. Inside of his head he yelled at his stupidity. He was happy that this nice person came along. he nodded before speaking, "Yes thank you very much. Sure I'll go eat with you. You could probably here my growling stomach from a mile away. First before we go in and since you gave me this yen, the least I can do is introduce myself. My name is Zack Williams. What might yours be?" he asked with a friendly smile. He started walking toward the restaurant entrance.

Mai looked back and stopped, looking at him with a smile. She could trust this boy, she felt safe around, but he hasnt seen any thing yet, but she hopes he doesnt. Maybe it was his head tilt like a puppy, or was it the fact that hes on his own for the time being. 'I should probaly get inside befo------' Her though was cut off by the sense of paranoia. But right now, why of all times, now? She started to brush her hair quicker and quicker as she became more nervous by the second. She felt weak and closed in, maybe if she ran into the building she feel a bit safer.

Mai whipped into the building hoping to feel better but her teammates looked at her like ,' Shes doing it again.......'. She couldnt blam them sense she always run out of soccer games and around town alot becoase of her paranoia. Her conciling is useless, its never going to save her from 'it'. But she does hope the boy didnt notice anything. Unfortuenitly she had to kindly walk out the door and say her name. "I---I--I'm M--M--Mai." Shes done it again and scared of another person that could have been her only friend. But maybe not, after all she didnt know the person very well.

Zack watched as she suddenly ran inside the apartment and walked back out. He wondered why she went inside very fast and just came back out. he wondered why she did this. maybe she went to see how the crowd was inside. He shrugged it off for the moment. Then she told him her name. She was stuttering. "Nice to meet you Mia." he said and gave her a friendly smile. the friendly smile didn't seem to help or at least not a first. She seemed afraid. What was there to be afraid of though? He looked around. There wasn't anything around him to be afraid of. then again what she might be afraid of could be different then what he was afraid of. He felt like he needed to comfort her now. first he needed to find out what was wrong.

He slowly moved a little closer to her before looking around again. After doing this he looked her in the eyes to see if the fear was still there. "What's wrong?" he asked and put on a smile. He hoped that this would comfort her a bit at the least. Zack didn't like it when people were scared, especially girls. It made him feel strange inside so he would try anything to stop the fear going though the persons mind if the person old them what that thing was.

Mai started to twirl her hair and jitter. His soft voice was kind and calmed her down a tiny bit. Lucky for her she might have meet a guy who would finaly understand her problems. But there was still a problem that could happen. He might get creeped out and leave her. She took the risk anyways. Her lips moved slowly, " Well I always feel like smothing is always watching me at all times. And it cuases some problems with my normal life. Becuase of that I dont have many new friends here. I think the reason why I feel like this is becuase of my past. And my........powers.........."

Mai cryied a bit while whispering the last part. The tears seemed to have feel slowly and time also. Everything when black and Mai started to get jittery and scared. A shadowy demon figure stood infront of her. The darkness was brock by a bolt of lightning and the sound of ran. She regained her senses but blacked out. Mai soon awoke in a soft queen sized mattrise with memory foam. There was a knock at her door that was too the left of her.

Zack saw as his words comforted her a little bit. He listened as she confessed why she was scared. He looked around and didn't see anyone watching them. His eyes widened as he heard the word powers. Hmm another person with powers. He wondered about what those powers were. He opened his mouth to ask but then she blacked out. His caught her so she wouldn't fall on the ground and watched as a few people came to see what happened. Zack explained, "She was talking and then she blacked out. I don't want to leave her here on the ground so anyone know of a place where she can go lay down until she wakes up?" he asked and looked at the small crowd. One of them nodded and Zack picked Mia up.

He followed the man and the man took him to a little hotel like place. They walked through the doors and the place didn't look really great but it wasn't horrible either. The man that had led Zack there went up to the manager and the manager agreed to let them have a room but if they wanted to stay overnight they would have to pay. Zack nodded in understanding and took her up to the room that the manager said they could have. Zack went inside and laid her on the bed. About an hour passed and Zack watched her the whole time to make sure nothing else happened. She awoke and right when she did there was a knock on the door. Zack awnsered it. It was the manager checking to see if she was okay. "I think she is. She's awake now." he told the manager and the manager walked in to ask her himself.
