There was nothing else to expect from him than a fate like this. Under the order of someone else, an act to carry out someone else’s will and return with good results, so his existence could continue to make sense. There was really nothing else to it…

There was. There was, but he couldn’t bring it to the forefront of his foggy mind. He had a person to kill. No questions were asked, and Azariel had spilled blood before. It was what his father taught him – kill, kill, devour and kill some more. Kill to stand on his own two feet. Kill and grow, and lay the foundation of his purpose with the bones of his victims. Just kill… and don’t ask questions. Only losers asked questions.

Mentally, he couldn’t be closer to rock-bottom than this. His heart continued to ache, but at this rate, there were so many reasons that he barely noticed the guilt that crept up on him. He was in Japan, closing in on his target with his Sonido – apparently, said target was a spiritually aware Human who had earned the wrath of his current boss. And the boss liked the Arrancars and their general ethics, sort of like a fan… so Azariel offered his strength. He was no longer lost to his own, harrowing thoughts. He was no longer alone.

He made little effort to be stealthy – the moment he spotted his target, a bunch of Balas rained down from the sky, all constricting the target’s ability to escape as Azariel descended, holding a pair of Balas charged in each hand. He had no words for this person. No relations. No personal feelings, no remarks, nothing. Just a task to fulfill. His client wasn’t even that absolute – Azariel could easily have ignored him, but he actively sought a leash. He was too afraid to be left for himself. Someone had to lead him, just like his father used to. That was how he came this far…

Felt a little weird, still doing the human thing. But there were still some nice things about it. Meeting up with other streamers for example. Josu was a Japanese gamer that had recently rose in popularity, they had done a few videos together and he was actually pretty cool and relaxed. And getting to meet him was actually rather interesting. Turned out his Dad and Brother were cops for the local police department. and while they originally had just talked about a bunch of nonsense, he soon mentioned that there was some sort of big investigation that had gone down recently. Huh, go figure. It was ... kinda wild to hear about such mundane happenings in the lives of humans. Then again, some criminals these days were pretty wild. Guess that was bound to happen with so much spiritual stuff happening. And as she sat across from him on the outside table of a coffee shop, she couldn't help but think he was kinda fun to be around.

However, she didn't expect the ... shift in the atmosphere so suddenly. A loud crackle sounding as bala rained down and burst around them, a startled scream rang out from the people around her, and amidst the spray of broken wood and metal from the nearby table and railings being blown apart, she could see the guy she was sitting with covering his head in fear. But she didn't. Her good eye swept the area as her reikaku sharpened, and focused on. ...

A fuckin Arrancar?!

Her eye snapped wide open in shock as she watched him hit the ground, and she promptly grabbed him. Shhhhhhit. "JOSU cmon we gotta get outta here!" She lightly shook him, the young man blinking owlishly before nodding, terror clear in his eyes. Tch, right, civillian. She promptly looked around quickly before promptly grasping him by the wrist and bucking it down the street away from the chaos. Amidst a swarm of other people trying to escape the area. Though as they ran, Khaana's focus continued to stick to that Arrancar up above. She just needed to get Josu somewhere safe, then she could deal with them.
