Burning Deep Through Frigid Sands [Kita, Klein]

..So this was what lied at the other end of that machination's creation.

The sights of the ever dark sky of Hueco Mundo were obvious and familiar, though where she touched down was far... Colder, than she recalled. Not that her mind dwelled on where she was terribly much - she had other matters brewing in her thoughts.

Primarily, those faces... That she couldn't recall prior. Those forms she held such a fondness for, ripped away from her so unceremoniously. How could she forget? But even with that, she... Her head hurt from these troubling thoughts, confusion muddying her as a sense of silent frustration grew from the sensation of cold around her. If she weren't so exhausted from her battles, she would have moved elsewhere.

Fierce eyes looked about for anyone familiar, anyone at all... She was to wait here, but did Klein... Did he emerge victorious? The ground cracked beneath her curling digits at the mere thought, yet she shook her head. No. Fury toward possibility was worthless, even if so... Those responsible would regret taking from her.

Enough confusion. Her eyes squeezed shut for a moment, using whatever she had reserved to form small sparks to lap off her skin, to force her body to warm.

Klein arrived on the cold sands of Hueco Mundo still in his release, an expression equally marked by nervous fear and triumph at having escaped danger. He stretched out his wings, staring up at the moon as he took a moment to relax his heartbeat. Well, he would have preferred to check in on his nibelungen and their quarry, but it was nice to just take a moment and enjoy being alive.

With his eyes closed, Klein simply took a seat on the sands below, before ending his release and laying down to fully relax. Sure, he didn't want to spend too long around here, but for now, it would be nice to actually let his stress level go down a little bit. He needed that.

Something strong entered her proximity.

Burning eyes flew open from her place of rest, her muscles acting before her thoughts as she silently emerged, skulking the cold dunes with her body low as she would stalk the source, before her eyes took the sight of-

Sand kicked beneath her as that hushed Sonido pushed her closer to him, little hesitance in her movements as she approached his lying figure. Arms flew down, scooping him into a sudden embrace, her head buried in his chest as her body was the only offering of warmth this dark realm had. Hair messy upon her shoulders and tattered attire, she would just... Hold him. Feel his presence. Have the assurance that he was here, with her, right now, as she desired.

Well.

He should have expected something like this, really, but Klein wasn't going to complain about it one iota. After all, it was the sort of thing he lived for, and so despite his eyes staying closed, the man's smile grew no small amount as he returned her embrace, quite comfortable in her arms.

"It's nice to see you too, beautiful. How about we get out of here soon and have a quiet night for just the two of us, hm?"

Of course, there was still no small amount of work he needed to do before he could get to relaxing. Debriefing with everyone who'd been involved, and of course making sure that his spoils were as juicy as he'd hoped they might be...

"Your heart beats with fear."

Her intonation was far different than the rushing anticipation she exhibited prior to the excursion; lower, quieter, malice dripping upon her voice. Only after that acknowledgement would her head raise for their eyes to meet, messy red locks draping her rather dour expression; those eyes that were bright with excitement to the mere idea of battle were now dulled by new sensations and confusions, yet they had that sensation of overwhelming sharpness.

Within it, had a burning - an anger for that which was responsible for terrorizing him.

"Who struck with you with such terror? I will render them unrecognizable."

Her thoughts were far away from the imagining of spending soft, quiet time with him again, at least not so easily.
