Warriors of the Weak [Heisuke/Kohaku]

Absolute chaos. It was like the sky was raining death. There was a time he had been training for this, training to destroy these monsters, these hollow that were now invading. Of course, the Gotei had failed in their job again. Why he would expect anything different from the GoTeI uNiTeD than the original thirteen morons? The most frustrating part was knowing that Tsubine was gone. The man he was meant to guard was off visiting his kid and best buddy.

“Damn it!” Kohaku cursed as he ran forward toward a small hollow threatening a family. His sword cut through the mask as easily as it would the air, killing the hollow instantly. He turned on another standing on a roof and used shunpo to gain a burst of speed by the hollow’s mask, giving it the same treatment. “Two,” Kohaku said, and the battle had only just begun. “Conserve your energy.”

Kohaku somehow knew that voice was talking to him. In an instant, he froze. He didn’t even care that a hollow was about to cero him. He just stopped moving and looked toward the fucker that DARED call him little dude. He had not been LITTLE in DECADES. There was no way that shit was flying, especially if he's dying today.

“I fucking doubt it!” Kohaku turned to the man and grit his teeth, glaring at him. “Who the hell are you calling ‘little dude’, man?!” Kohaku pointed the tip of his zanpakuto at Red, ready to fight him if need be. “Take it back, or I swear to fuckin' god! I don’t need your bullshit today. A man's gotta focus, fuckhead.”

Kohaku did not hear him take it back, but he still turned to rip his zanpakuto through the arm of the hollow that Red was holding back. The limb fell to the ground in a heavy thud, beginning to disappear as the hollow itself let out one of those howls.

“No!” Kohaku yelled, his eye twitching at this dumb bastard. “IF I DIE OUT HERE AND THE LAST THING SOMEONE CALLS ME IS 'LITTLE-FUCKING-DUDE, I SWEAR I AM GOING TO MURDER SOMETHING.” Another hollow appeared on the opposite side of them. This time, Kohaku took the initiative and shunpo’d past Red and stabbed his zanpakuto through the foot of this one. Now, they were sandwiched between two of these monsters… It didn’t matter though…

“Take that shit back. Take back that ‘little dude’ comment, asshole!”

“I don’t have a mother!!” Kohaku said through his teeth, the words coming out more like a growl. Kohaku saw what Red was doing and took the opportunity provided. Even if he was mad, he wasn’t going to risk the lives of Tsubine’s districts. With his own sword infused with reiryoku, he sharpened the blade and sliced through the restrained hollow. Within seconds, the monster was gone.

Kohaku’s anger vein was showing and then he looked disgusted at that kind of a neck pop. It was like he could feel the pop under his own skin and shuddered. “Gross, ma-… No! I don’t know you!” Kohaku insisted, though part of him was starting to believe he might actually know this guy. Kohaku stared at him for a moment. ‘Yeah…maybe… nah… Even if, I’m not admitting it… Jackass.’

A scream pierced the air and Kohaku turned around. Down a street, two women and a group of kids were running from another one of these beasts. He glanced to Red, the glance acted an invitation to join him… for now… Shunpo’ing in, Kohaku appeared above the hollow and allowed himself to drop down. His tried slicing through the hollow’s mask, but his blade wasn’t sharp enough.

“Shit…” he yelled. A hollow paw came around and slapped him down to the ground. Before Kohaku could recover, that same paw was about to slam down and try to crush him into the dirt further. Kohaku braced himself for the impact.

Kohaku watched an annoyingly impressive display from the floor. He rolled his eyes as the guy landed next to him, but did end up taking Red’s hand and being helped up from the floor. Kohaku did a quick flourish with his zanpakuto, a way of mimicking that hand-switch without fucking his main hand control. “Yeah, I guess we will,” Kohaku said, a short chuckle escaping through his nose.

“High,” Kohaku said and then shunpo’d forward. His immediately initiated a second one that pushed him into the air above and behind the hollow’s head. Pushing reiryoku back into his blade, he swung his sword’s dull edge to into the hollow’s head like a bat. The force behind it sent the hollow’s head straight toward Red, giving him the perfect angle an opportunity to attack himself.
