Psychological Analysis
Himiko is a woman that is rarely fazed by anything. Anything that happens to her in her life are things that she can quickly get over as she has done many times before. No matter how stressful it may be, or how difficult she finds it, she has always had to endure which has made her a very resilient individual. It's not something people expect from her by the way she acts a bit immature and girlish, though she has shown more maturity since getting married and the prospects of being a mother have been on her horizons. She is very indignant about her values and beliefs though, uncompromising even as they have matured with age and experience. Once she might've turned her nose up at a person who displayed prejudice towards another but she is far more likely to want to understand why they have those feelings now to allow a mutual understanding of differences rather than an ignorant denial of them.
It is because of this she acknowledges the differences between herself and others and does not allow herself to be defined by them. She looks different to them, she comes from strange origins that others do not share, and she might be a soul where others are living. All of these barriers stand between her and the people under her husband but she tries every day to turn those walls into windows that she and they might understand each other a little more.
Himiko likes to imagine that if the window becomes so transparent, then they might come to realise there was nothing that separated them from the beginning.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Born as one of the children of Souga Shikimura in the Outlands of the Soul Society, Himiko grew upon among her deformed brothers and sisters in the small village they had carved out for themselves in the place known as "Shikimura". Himiko was among the smallest of her siblings and for that she was often called the runt as a result. While this did affect her standing amongst them by finding she was the last to eat or the last to be picked for any competitions to resolve conflicts, it did not affect the fact that they were a group of outcasts that all shared something in common.
Her siblings spoke of humans but her small size made her rarely allowed to venture into the areas where they overlapped. Instead she was taught to gather and forage by her older siblings. She was not a hunter like some of the others but she didn't mind, life was simple and peaceful besides the odd dispute amongst her brothers and sisters.
It wasn't until she was five years old when she first encountered her first human when she was foraging.
Life was good, simple and pretty disconnected from everything but nice all the same. It wasn't until she was five that she met her first human. She had wandered off and gotten lost, in her attempts to find her way back a hunter had stumbled upon her and thought she was an animal. After a chase that left her terrified and almost killed cowering against a tree it only became apparent to the man that she was in fact not an animal.
He patched her up after his spear had grazed her and gave her food in return for his actions. Her speech was quite bad at this point in time but she could speak enough that he could understand her questions about him. Being told all these remarkable things of a world beyond the forest she eventually had to part with him when she realised it was getting very late.
She never saw that man again as much as she would look.
There were no answers to be given by her family, her mother had nothing to say, her older brother that had assumed the role of the strongest amongst them spoke only of them like they were animals, and others preferred to think of them as demons or monsters.
One thing was made certain though. There was a wall that divided them and they each belonged on their own side of it.
Even though her curiosity was pure she couldn't understand the feelings of them. There was more outside the world than their village, so why did they all live here and alienate themselves. She felt trapped for the first time in her life and hated the idea that her fate was written for her the moment she was born.
Swished she didn't look the way she did if it was the reason she couldn't leave. Growing much older she began to venture out, going outside the forest at night while getting to look at a village full of people from afar. She would never approach them because they looked different than her but just watching their strange way of life was enough for her.
Fifty years before the present she found herself shifting, over the course of a few days Himiko's body changed to the point where she had become humanoid. Her siblings were confused, scared even that she had just changed. For some of them they revered the change as she changed to resemble their mother more while others saw it as some kind of evil. Ginrou was among the latter and banished her without room for argument.
Cast into the Rukongai, Himiko found mixed receptions. She looked like them but she did not look enough like them. The wall that had divided these two souls was one that she didn't belong on either side of but she pressed on. Through the lawless districts outside and onwards towards the centre. She met many different people, good and bad.
She saw many different faces of the Rukongai as she travelled deeper into it but she also felt sad as she learned about how these people actually lived, with many people souls that came here and may never reunite with their family. Her path would not stop in the Rukongai though as she arrived at the Seireitei and after failing the aptitude test twice, she was eventually accepted as a shinigami candidate who took six years to graduate with distinctions in her zanjutsu and hakuda.
There was many questions about the former in particular such as how she acquired shikai so quickly and they briefly considered placing her into an advanced class until it became apparent that whatever unorthodox methods she practiced weren't compatible with the curriculum and it was abandoned by the Shin'o Academy for investigation.
Upon graduating she served an unremarkable role until the events of Demon Incursion where she would remain associated with the reformed Gotei United. Moving onto join the Seventh Division under Murasaki when it was established by Ibiki Suika. Most of her assignments had her in Europe which is where she met her current husband, Erchanhardt, and exists as a liason between the Seventh Division and the Holy Roman Empire more than an active duty shinigami.
NATURAL ATTRIBUTES
» Wild Spiritual Power: Himiko's spiritual power feels a bit different than her peers, those that sense her with reikaku can detect the animalistic traits of her soul through her spiritual power. Without seeing her someone could assume that she was a wild animal until confirming it proper, due to its untamed nature it can appear erratic and difficult to assess by sensors. The fickle spiritual power can make it difficult to get a read on her emotional state, her powers, or anything that someone might try to read from her spiritual power. This is reflected in her spiritual pressure as it licks around her in completely different directions.
When her reiatsu is released, it can take the appearance of a wolf's head, howling and evoking horrible images in onlooker's minds. Though it may not always appear as such when it is in use, Himiko's reiatsu is more than capable of protecting her and boring through materials such as running through a building and having the building part around her passive release of reiatsu.
» Animal Communication: Having taken on the curse that her child would've bared in his place, Himiko's soul became closer to an animal's. This allows her to bridge the void of communication between an animal and a human. She is capable of understanding an animal's intent if it is within the area of her reiatsu, and likewise she is able to express her own intent through her reiatsu.
» Beastman Attributes (Shikimura): Born from Shikimura Souga, Himiko was born with her curse which made her born as a werewolf. Her body is influenced by this curse to have an enhanced physical condition, strength, stamina, senses, and others are all more like an animal than they are a regular human's. Even her size is a factor of her supernatural heritage that makes her look outlandish compared to normal people. » Strength: Himiko has an impressive amount of strength. She is able to lift multiple people and carry many times her own body weight without factoring in her spiritual power, at the same time though she is considered to be on the lower end of strength when it comes to her family due to being a "runt". Compared to the regular shinigami though there is a great deal of physical ability that sets her apart from them whether it's breaking rocks in her hands, jumping the height of a two storey building, or flipping a hollow over her shoulder.
» Endurance: Himiko's body is well adjusted to possess high amounts of stamina and durability, she can persist for some time before collapsing and won't be short of breath easily. Despite this most of her endurance is tied to her ability to press onwards rather than taking a good beating and coming out unscathed. She is capable of recovering from just about all wounds if she has enough time to recover meaning she won't retain scars barring removal of limbs and organs.
» Agility: Her reflexes are high and she is quite agile, despite that she is prone to getting exhausted if she tries to run very fast for long distances. She is more geared towards extended but slower movements along with fancy acrobatics. While her ability to travel is nothing to scoff at, Himiko is quick enough to practice barehanded fishing and be quite proficient at it.
» Senses: She has heightened senses of smell and hearing, while both incredibly useful at times it is often painful to be exposed to loud noises or putrid smells. On top of that her ears and tail are very sensitive and vulnerable parts of her body that can often be exploited.
» Enlightened Beast: Having possessed the capability to become a shinigami from an early age, Himiko developed the technique that transfers the Shikimura curse onto their manifestation. This removed many of her animalistic qualities that once made her an anthropomorphic wolfman and transferred them to her inner spirit that became more animalistic as a result of that exchange. » Endurance: Himiko's body is well adjusted to possess high amounts of stamina and durability, she can persist for some time before collapsing and won't be short of breath easily. SHINIGAMI ABILITIES
» Hakuda: Himiko is a proficient user of Hakuda, primarily due to the fact that her zanpakuto does not take the shape of a weapon in its released form. It has always been her go to approach to combat and while basic, she is deceptively simplistic in her applications of Hakuda that make individuals quick to dismiss her. It is not so much the styles of combat that she uses but her ability to utilise her untamed reiryoku through her body.
Her style is built around a single technique at the end of the day, that being Ikkotsu [一骨, Single Bone] which is the technique that she gravitated to the most. It's simple, practical, it gets the job done. Just like she does. While there are variations that have been made from the technique such as her Kokotsu [小骨. Little Bone] which works through using a finger to inject her reiryoku into the targets body and replicate the Ikkotsu on a smaller scale instead of punching them full force. The Kokotsu rarely causes external damage but can mangle a target's internal body such as breaking bones, tearing muscles, and bursting blood vessels without damaging the skin.
Building up from that, she can perform her Waikotsu [歪骨. Distorted Bone] which works similar to the Kokotsu but rather than causing massive fractures and damage, it causes bones and muscles to twist inside of the body that can be even more traumatic than plain destruction but it is a lot harder to achieve.
Mokotsu [茂骨, Overgrown Bone] is for the most part, Ikkotsu which is used from a distance. It has the downside of requiring her to take a stance to utilise which requires her to prepare it and can alert her target to increase their guard.
Finally there is Sakahone [逆骨, Reverse Bone], which is pronounced differently as its a more recent addition to her repertoire. It is based on her husband's fighting style by allowing her to capture reishi in her palms before directing it back at the target or by deflecting it in another direction to redirect the attack.
» Hoho: Himiko is proficient enough with hoho to utilise shunpo reliably as a means of travel and within a combat scenario. Perhaps the only unique feat that she possesses is the capacity to initiate shunpo from all fours that dramatically increase her speed for the lunge as its considered to have greater launching power that can have her advancing onto a target faster than would be expected.
» Kido: She struggles with kido, not because she's stupid but because it is hard to learn. While she is capable of performing an array of kido spells that have some utility and offensive ability. Even some basic applications of Kaido. Himiko is only a proficient user rather than some kind of genius on it.
» Zanjutsu: An strange individual when it comes to her zanpakuto. Himiko has an exceptionally strong bond with her zanpakuto spirit due to the shared burden of the Shikimura curse. Even though she is not a prolific swordsman, her ability to command her zanpakuto and engage in a partnership puts her leagues above many other shinigami. However, it is the unorthodox situation they have between one another that is the reason their compatibility is so high. Himiko's experience and situation is not one that could be readily used to help others and any attempts to rationalise it has been many a headache for a peer.
ZANPAKUTO INFORMATION
» Zanpakuto Name: Tennoken [天の犬, Dog of Heaven].
» Spirit Summary: The manifestation of Himiko's inner spirit takes the form of a large dog monster that towers over her within her inner-world. It is primal in thought and struggles to interact in a more human fashion, societal customs are lost on it which causes Himiko some trouble trying to talk to it. Often times she will try and communicate like an animal but end up looking foolish to the beast.
» Inner World: Her inner world looks like her home, it is a forest that travels up a mountain. Her manifestation lives within this mountain in a cave requiring her to often climb up to its lair. There are various rivers and bodies of water scattered around the forest.
» Sealed Appearance: Her zanpakuto has an unremarkable katana with a circular tsuba, its shealth is deep blue and the handle is wrapped in a white cloth.
» Sealed Ability: Tennoken possesses no abilities when it is sealed.
SHIKAI INFORMATION
» Release Phrase: Takeru, Tennoken [哮る天の犬. "Bark, Dog of Heaven".]
» Appearance:
» Ability: All abilities revolve around using her dog familiar for various purposes. It is a Kido-type zanpakuto. She is able to create various effects by giving orders to her shikai.
» Heel, Tennoken: In the case that her shikai is taken from her she is able to immediately correct its loyalties by calling it a good boy and causing it to purge all foreign energies and influences from its system.
» Hunt, Tennoken: Tennoken splits into fourteen identical but smaller wolves that can function as a pack. They share awareness and are invisible to all five senses except spiritual detection. While they are invisible they cannot attack but are highly coordinated as a group when they do attack. Due to being split into fourteen its power is also divided equally amongst the pack.
» Lunch Time, Tennoken: Her large wolve morphs so that it's mouth is incredibly large it proceeds to try and devour a target. Tennoken can use this ability to eat energy attacks and recycle fifty percent of the energy to give back to Himiko. Those that are devoured by the beast are subject to its stomach which Himiko can materialise her kido spells making it a suitable prison, killing move, or a healing spot.
» Hide. Tennoken: Her large summon turns invisible and goes still, it becomes undetectable so long as it doesn't move or make a sound. Those inside it are also hidden letting her hide away inside it with allies or enemies. Due to the physical form of Tennoken still being there people can still inadvertently hit it by walking into it or using area of effect means.
» Track, Tennoken: Tennoken lifts its head to the sky and takes a long smell, it is able to smell reiryoku and manifest them as spirit coils similar to an advanced reikaku technique. These ribbons can then be tracked like scent trails by the beast.

BANKAI INFORMATION
» Name: Tenken Yomidayū [天犬黄泉太夫, Heavenly Canine Hell Courtesan]
» Appearance: Upon releasing TenkenYomidayū, Himiko's zanpakuto will lose its shape and become a red moon in the sky above her. Upon gazing at the moon a red flash occurs which reveals her garbed in her bankai.
» Ability: The true form of Tenken is a curse-type zanpakuto, due to being strongly influenced by the beastman curse she inherited from her mother. As the one that developed the method of transferring the curse to a manifestation, all bankai of the Shikimura would be considered of this kind. Besides raising her capabilities and giving her a more beastly appearance, the basic ability of her bankai is found in her many tails which function more like brushes. As she moves around the battlefield Himiko's tails will drip red ink that are used to execute her techniques.
» First Formula: Human Through the usage of the first formula, entities made of reishi that are covered in the red ink find it quickly create a vessel of kishi created around them which is functionally a faux-body. This body is as powerful as a spiritually aware human and allows for its frailty to be exploited by inflicting serious wounds. There are caveats to it though, they are only creating a vessel which is not reflected on the actual spirit inside. While this can "kill" the target it would only free their spiritual body from the kishi vessel and reveal no harm has been done to them.
This makes the first formula excel at weakening the mind of the target as they are placed under the illusion that they have become a weaker human, subjecting them to immense amounts of pain and grievous wounds before they are freed from the curse with "death". A target that has means to free themselves from the body can escape this such as a hollow using soul-body separation or a shinigami using an artificial soul, if they can figure out how the first formula works.
» Second Formula: Heaven Through the second formula, Himiko is able to evoke a curse where images of herself manifest around the area from the red pools of ink that are left in her wake. These illusions appear identical to her besides lacking any physical mass but lack the ability to speak. They can be used to overwhelm a person's senses as they struggle to sense any distinction between the many Himikos and the only key to determining which Himiko is real depends on the person identifying the lack of shadow cast by the illusions.
» Third Formula: Asura Through the third formula, Himiko inflicts a curse upon herself that substitutes herself with her zanpakuto spirit. Returning her mind to that of a beast for a period of time where she is uninhibited by her strong sense of morality. It is a self-sacrificial technique that gives her some level of anatomical alteration in the process where she can sharpen the hairs of her tails to weaponise them, turn her nails into claws, and show a much higher tolerance to pain as she becomes an enraged beast.
» Fourth Formula: Hell The fourth formula extends beyond her body to ignite all the ink that she has left in the area like oil. These flames are intense and are not easily extinguished, if left unchecked they will spread beyond her area as she cannot control them once they are ignited but will extinguish automatically should her bankai end. These flames do carry a similar curse, where wounds are not easily healed be they on the environment around her or on another person. It is unlikely for a forest these are released in to regrow for many decades without some kind of intervention.
» Fifth Formula: Preta Through the fifth formula, targets covered in the red ink have it absorbed into their bodies. This formula is twofold in its effect, by imbuing their bodies with an incredibly potent scent that attracts hollows to try to devour them that lasts for a week similar to having hollow bait on their person. The more powerful side-effect is that it absorbs the target's reiryoku to sap at their stamina and greatly reducing the targets' ability to recover energy. By tiring them out it can incapacitate weaker targets quickly to the point of exhaustion but for stronger characters it can manifest as feelings of extreme hunger that makes it painful to keep fighting as their body craves nutrients to keep sustaining their spiritual power. Himiko does not gain any benefits as she is not absorbing their reiryoku.
» Sixth Formula: Animal Through her sixth formula, Himiko is able to curse one to walk the path of an animal which has two meanings. It can function similar to the Human Path by placing them inside a kishi vessel that turns them into an animal but its true power is functionally inflicting the target with the same curse that is within her family. They will slowly transform into a beast over thousands of years and their descendants will be cursed to be born as beastmen. Due to the extreme weight it has, Himiko is not one to use this lightly which is why she restrains the curse to function similarly to the first formula. Cursing another character with the beastman curse requires out-of-character consent.
