Quincy's Big Game Hunt[Natasha, Johann]

"I reckon he does. Uncle Jo hasn't missed a beat in all these years since our last hunt."

Offering an appreciative whistle at his handiwork, Natasha could only admire his ability to shift his rifle stance on the fly and still land an effective shot, and on a moving target no less. He wasn't the only one with ideas of how tasty these animals would be when they were properly prepared. Gazing at their fallen targets from afar, she assumed three would be perfect for a meal.

With so much meat on their bodies, they had more than enough to go around. Reloading her rifle, Natasha turned her head in Johann's direction as she thought about where they might set up for a boar. Did they remain here and let one come out or go to another area altogether? Since he was familiar with this land, she'd let the choice fall to him.

"With the size of these fellas, I think we have more than enough for a feast and then some. How about we move on to the wild boar next? Think we should remain here or let it lead itself here?"

Johann offered a light chuckle in response to Natasha's compliment, he shook his head lightly. He wouldn't have gone that far. Perhaps it was that lingering pride that spoke up in his head, but, Johann had a feeling that, were he about fifty years younger, he could have done all of that and more. Though, perhaps that was just the memories of youthful ego.

Poking his head out of the brush, he took another look at their prey, partly to make sure that they weren't about to spring back up and dart back off into the forest. Once he'd confirmed that they were, in fact, not going anywhere, he turned back to Natasha, taking a moment to process her words and think. In all honesty, he had been expecting them to come across one of each, having two was already of tremendous blessing.

"Truth be told, I had been expecting us to have one of each. I think, perhaps, we could take this back to the estate to cook. We can leave the boar for another time."

"Oh?"

Natasha didn't much mind that. She was enjoying herself. They were almost assuredly guaranteed a bunch of meat from taking down the deer. Additionally, he mentioned offering to prepare some bratwurst, which sounded equally as tasty as the venison. Since she was a chef at heart, some small part of her wondered if the old man would let her prepare some of it on the grill. She had brought a few seasonings along for the occasion. Either way, she couldn't hold her excitement as she rose from the ground and emptied the shells from the chamber of her rifle. Stepping beside him, she flashed a playful smile as her eyes looked ahead.

"I reckon that's fine by me, Uncle Jo. From the looks of things, we've got enough meat to share between the both of us. I can probably do a lot with this when I get back home. Wonder if Natsumi's ever had deer before, though..."

Johann couldn't help but smile at Natasha. She'd grown up so much, and yet there was still the spirit of that young lady he knew from when she was but so small. Standing up and walking alongside her, Johann took a moment to inspect his gun before he looked ahead at their prey. There was quite a bit of meat to be had from these two fine specimens, and the young lady she was housing in the city had never had deer meat before, hm?

"Well, since there's bound to be more than enough for the two of us, as well as Emma, we could freeze some of it for you to bring back to the city. That way, you can have some ready to prepare for Natsumi to try."

The elder grinned as he slid the rifle over his shoulder, getting his arms free to start the process of removing the vital organs, as well as keeping in mind of the quartering process. He was certainly not going to take any chances of losing quality with this meat, especially with the people he wished to share it with.

"Aw shucks, yer too kind. I'd love that."

Of course, Natsumi wasn't the only one she'd want to feed. There was Eiji and Stella, too. And with plenty of bounty to go around, she was going to share this with her division members, too. Setting her rifle to the side, Natasha pulled a sharp combat knife from the side as she stopped beside Johann and kneeled beside the deer's body. However he wanted to go about it didn't bother Natasha much, but she was willing to offer assistance if he so desired.

"M'here if ya want me to cut into any parts of the flesh that might be hard to pull apart, Uncle Jo."

Johann offered a warm smile as she offered assistance, and opened his arms, gesturing to the two deer in front of them, before getting back to work on the one he had been cutting into.

"I welcome the assistance, my dear. We do have two of these to get through, after all. It would certainly speed up the time it takes to get everything sectioned off and brought back to the vehicle."

Johann approached the act with surgical precision, removing the vital organs with as little waste as possible. However, that precision did not stop him from acting quick when necessary. With Natasha's help, it would certainly bring down the overall time it would normally have taken to gut and quarter the animals. As that was done, he rummaged through his pack to find something adequate to store them in, and when they were done, would store them as best he could.

"Alright, let's get all of this back to the estate."

It took a bit of time to get everything back to their vehicles, as well as making sure everything was clean. But, after that, they were off toward the Arant Estate, and Johann especially was looking forward to seeing his wife after all this time. He had sent her letters at least once a week and had flowers and chocolates sent when Valentine's came around, but, it felt nice to have a bit of time to return home to the woman he loved.

Much like her gentlemanly peer, Natasha assisted where needed, approaching the deer she was tasked with quartering and cutting apart with a precision that spoke to years of experience when it came to hunting down one's meal.

Johnny raised her to survive in a setting like this, and proof of that was shining through mightily well as she played the secondary role of preparing the meat. When they finished, Natasha took a moment to clean herself and make sure her hands and any other blood-stained parts of her body were spotless. After collecting her possessions, she followed him to their vehicle and hopped into the passenger seat beside him. Outside the window, she whistled appreciatively as they rode along.

"Ain't seen Auntie Emma in a minute. Here's to hopin' she remembers me after all this time."

Johann couldn't help but feel a sense of secondhand pride as they returned to the estate. Natasha had grown into a fine, respectable woman, and an even finer Quincy. Not only was he proud of how far she had come, but he was certain that Johnny would be as well. No matter the darkness that they all faced, what mattered most was how the journey of overcoming it and emerging a better person.

"It might take a moment for her to recognize you after all these years, but, I'm sure she'll be more than happy to see you again."

As they drove, Johann's expression turned to one of curiosity and puzzlement, his thoughts going back to their day of hunting. He was well aware that her skills as a Quincy heavily revolved around her use of firearms, and that gave him an idea.

"Could you humor an old man for a moment, dear? I was wondering, have you ever considered mixing spellcraft in with your munitions? I noticed a few things about your Spirit Weapon whenever I would oversee your training, and the idea only just now hit me. It could give more versatility to your arsenal."

It was something that he was curious to see if she had implemented into her arsenal already, or if she had thought of it. Even if she hadn't, he hoped that the idea would be something she took interest in.

"Good. I've been meanin' to catch up on old times with her and learn a few new recipes while I'm at it."

On their way to the estate, Natasha turned the radio on and admired the lovely view that graced her eyes as they traveled. She hadn't been to Germany in so long that everything almost looked a little unfamiliar to her, despite this being the place her father brought her to train with Johann. When Johann presented his idea, Natasha turned from the window to focus on his words. Welcoming his advice in stride, Natasha nodded with a smile as she started to speak, turning the radio down so they could engage each other in a bit of theory crafting.

"Yep. I reckon it's crossed my mind plenty of times since I've been workin' all diligent like on my arsenal. I haven't had time to sit down and apply the different spells in my head, but I've been thinking about incorporating a variety of spells into my bullets for a minute now. Since you're pretty good with spellcraft, what spells do you think would make for a good base, Uncle Jo?"

As the two begun theory-crafting, Johann took a moment to think. While he was above average when it came to their spellcrafting, he knew that he too needed to explore and expand into that realm. He had primarily focused on the traditional, most well-known Quincy spells, ones that could potentially be useful in conjunction with Natasha's Spirit Weapon, yet, it would require some creativity and adjustment.

"Hmm...Heizen is an obvious one," He said, bringing one hand from the wheel to his chin. "If utilized with a shotgun, the spread of pellets could be modified to form the typical array of Ginto tubes."

While he remained focused on driving and keeping the car stable, Johann leaned back slightly as he continued to ponder. Many of the traditional spells did not exactly fit conventionally with the kind of incorporation that they were thinking of. However, Johann had faith in both his and Natasha's creative minds to think of ways to utilize them effectively.

"There is also Wolke," He mused. "It could be used as a smokescreen from various ranges, with the potential to become dangerous or lethal with modification, to make a sort of specialized gas."
