Requiem for the Lost Ones (Stella/Klein)
Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:12 pm
During a dark and cloudly day, the red head found herself in the outskirts of the city. How many days has she been out here wandering? Looking for hollows to kill, and wondered if any of these would be her last? Her stay in the hospital had done little more than heal her body. The nightmares still plagued her at night, and the desire for becoming stronger had potentially reached an unhealthy high. When she had her friends cycling in and out of her room she had went in and out of moods. Now though....
Shortly after being released she had traveled to Japan. First going through Karakura and seeing what all was there. In hopes of getting out of her slump, but that hadn't helped. She now finds herself wandering mindlessly through outskirts that are scarcely populated by those you would want company of. Every so often she would flex out her spiritual pressure in hopes of drawing hollows into her.
She had just finished killing one before she looked up towards the sky as her dead comrades flashed through her head. Had she been even just a little faster or a little stronger maybe they would still be alive. She would then allow her head to drop down as she pulled out her phone turning it on. Seeing several unanswered texts she felt guilt shoot through her. What was she doing?

KLEIN SCHWARZWOTAN
Japan was a dangerous place, but Klein was willing to put up with danger for work. After all, there were few places more technologically ahead of the curve, and he had to get his girls up and running to even higher standards for his plans to come. Whatever thoughts he'd been caught up in, however, were cut short by the feeling of a momentary flex of spiritual pressure. It wasn't much, certainly weaker than his own, but Klein knew better than most that it could still easily be a threat.
So he moved, eyes narrowed but his body language relaxed, calm, and looked toward the source. What he saw, though, looked unassuming. It looked, frankly, a little bit pathetic. Exactly the sort of thing any scavenger would love to see, made all the more pressing in his mind by way of the woman's figure.
It left no room for doubt. He walked toward the woman, keeping an eye on the murdered hollow before he returned his attention on her. When he spoke up to catch her attention, it was in a gentle tone, wanting to seem nonthreatening.
"Miss? Everything alright?"

Stella would look over to the man. She wondered ehat he was? She could tell he was stronger than her, but it seems he's concerned. She could be wrong but he doesn't seem like he's going to be hostile to her. Looking at him she would speak out quietly. It wasn't someone she knew so she felt no need to feign her usual happy go lucky attitude. In fact that seemed like a distant past now.
"I'm fine. You shouldn't be out here though. It could be dangerous."
She knew he was stronger, but in her mind anyone could be caught off guard. She cares very little about her own well being at this point. She cares more about other people and her friends. Stella was doing this to get stronger. She just had to make sure that she got stronger. She didn't want to die obviously but she was doing what she thought she had to do.

"I'm fine. I do research in more dangerous places than this, so I'm not really too worried about it. Honestly, I was more worried you'd end up drawing the eye of something more dangerous than that. Bigger hollows can show up when they smell blood in the water, you know."
Then again, maybe that would have been good. It would've given Klein another opportunity to find something worth working with, but he should focus on one thing at a time for now.
"If anything, we oughta get you out of here before something too big stops in for a snack."

Stella looked at him with a questioning look for just a second. Why did he care what happened to her? It wasn't like she was defenseless, and he didn't seem to be a part of the vandenreich or anything. She didn't really care though as she would nod in agreement. She wasn't sure where she could go, so maybe someone more familiar with the city could point her somewhere decent enough.
"Are you familiar with this city?"
She asked gently as she didn't want to come off rude. This was her first time in the refugee city, but she had heard a few things about it. Seemed like a place for her to go in the rut she's in, but at the same time there was no point in getting stronger if she died. However, in her mindset that would just mean she wasn't strong enough.
"Do you know any ideas where I could stay around here?"

"I've been around here a few times, yeah."
Klein admittedly rather liked Minatumi, though he had to admit that he hadn't ever been here in this particular guise before. So many people in tough situations, of so many different backgrounds... Well, he'd certainly met any number of lovely ladies, and other people to take advantage of in his time.
"There's plenty of hotels and stuff in the city proper, if you've got the money for it. Otherwise, uh... I guess you could stay at my place, if you want."
Though he said it in a way that was intended to come off as though it wasn't his ideal, Klein naturally would have preferred that be the case. He was a simple man, after all.

Stella would think about the offer as she would shake her head gently. She appreciated the offer, and was hornstly glad someone came and told her she needed tk go somewhere else. Less she end up dying out here if anything bigger decided to come along. She wasn't exactly sure where the hotels were.
"I appreciate the offer, but I can afford a hotel. Would you happen to know where the closest one is?"
She spoke as she wasn't sure if she trusted him enough to stay at his place. She was a little hesitant to stay at anyone's place the first time they meet. she remembered Solomom offering to buy her a house the first time they met and even that kinda put her off just a little. He turned out to be a good guy, but she couldn't just trust anyone at anytime. Especially not in her current mental state.

"It's not far. I can help you get there, at least."
Klein wasn't one to lay on any pushy efforts if they didn't seem to work the way he wanted. He was a smart man, who knew how to vary his approaches as the situation demanded. Besides, he still had to be on his best behavior when he was out and about in public in this guise. This was how he interacted with the Vandenreich, after all.
"The city itself is plenty safe. Defenses all around Japan are nice, and Minatumi here is probably safer than normal as long as you're in town."
Once upon a time, he'd heard this whole place was basically unassailable, but he didn't really know, or care, why that had changed. It didn't matter much, did it?

Stella nodded as she began to walk with the man. It seems he was an upstanding individual who would never get down to negative business. Especially in regards to mentally unstable, vulnerable, and women just going through a hard time. Just Stella's luck to find someone so friendly.
"Alright, that's fine. That makes sense. I had to come all the way out here to even get a trace of any hollows. Guess the cities are pretty safe."
She spoke obviously after hearing what the man had to say. She wasn't sure if she was just desperate to get stronger or if she was trying to get herself killed. She felt like she was trapped in her own mind at this current point. Stella spoke to him more.
"Are you aware of any training methods to improve quickly?"
