With what information Amelia had, it wasn’t the same. There was a massive difference between a child got sick and required more attention, and a new child came into the family, so the family forgot to learn how to spread the attention. One is an emergency, the other neglect. Many families struggled with multiple children, so it wasn’t surprising. Victor won’t be the last of many kids that deal with this.
When Amelia heard that word coming, she raised an eyebrow at the man. Luckily, he caught himself and changed his language. Good. She had recently met a rather foul mouthed young man who did not know how to change that in front of children. It was best to not use foul language often enough that it feels natural anyway.
Arranged marriage, huh? Amelia had a couple thoughts on that, but Doku and Victor were making her nervous. The child was laughing as he was being bounced around, so she tried to calm her own fears. If Victor fell... She shuddered at the thought. Anyways... "Well, arranged marriages are not always horrible. Western culture has a habit of treating them like they are, but if they are done right, they can lead to happy, loving lives... A lot of the time, it is often about the Father being able to guarantee his daughter's happiness and security by vetting the man first... People these days have just... Well, they've gone too far and become more about power."
Finally, the three exited the school building. After walking down a flight of stairs, Amelia stopped at the bottom and gave Victor a high-five and then holding out a hand to shake Doku's... but then she pulled her hand away. "On second thought, do not let go of that boy," she giggled, still nervous about Victor being on top of Doku's shoulders. "It was quite lovely meeting you. Make sure Victor has a nice vacation." Today was the last day of school after all... She looked to Victor. "And get your reading done. It's only one small book. You can do it, okay?" "Yes, Ms. Brenner!"

"Doku Fischer" | Quincybringer
Victor was just being a kid, finger-gunning at things as they passed by and putting his arms out like an airplane. That childish laugh was contagious causing Doku to laugh at his antics. However he still participated in the adult conversation, there was a lot to say about arranged marriage, and Doku had his own opinions.
"Well. I've always been a Westerner at heart. I'm Asian from how I look, but I lived in America for about three years and honestly love their culture. I don't like the idea of them. My Mom and Dad had a healthy relationship. They loved each other, though in the back of my mind, it irks me, that my dad only married her in the first place cause she was a Quincy. I do wonder if he'd do the same if she wasn't." An interesting thought he had sometimes, but he was never going to ask his dad about it directly. "That's just how Quincy is, well at least the pureblooded ones like my dad. He would have probably arranged for me to be married if I wasn't a Fullbringer" He ranted for a bit. "Sorry, I probably sound like a madman saying random garbage. But I'm just different than the Quincy in my family"
Once they got outside and after she told him not to let go, Doku would bend down and let Victor off, he would rummage through the boy's backpack, pulling out a small notecard and a pencil from his bag. He would start writing as he spoke to Amelia.
"Do me a favor, if Victor acts up again or whatever, just give me a call. I'm in town for a few more weeks, and I know his mom and dad are busy. So I'll be sure to take care of him in the meantime." He would finish up his thought, before putting the pencil back in Victor's bag, and handing the notecard to Aemlia, it had his number on it, his handwriting a bit amateur but completely legible. Though thinking about it, Amelia was close to his age and was someone not in his family. "Or, if you're not doing anything over vacation we could... do something-" Man, he still sucked at this despite his practices...

Amelia wasn’t sure what a Fullbringer was, and she didn’t really care. She figured it was some version of Quincy or powered human, no different than the base concept of Quincy anyways. So, she gave him a light shrug, as if it wasn’t important to her.
Outside, Doku handed her the note card with his number on it. Amelia had been asked out like this a few times. “You know, legally, I can’t call you. You’d have to set yourself up as an emergency contact for Victor through the school, and still his parents would be the first we called at any time, unless instructed otherwise."
'Ah, there it is.' Even if Amelia was making a bit of an assumption, she wouldn't show it. She just smiled slid the card in her pocket before giving a slight wave, "I may consider it." Amelia gave Victor another high five and reminded him again about his homework before walking away. "You two have a great vacation!"
