That's Not My Job. (Doku/Yuri)
Wed Apr 17, 2024 10:51 pm
"Doku Fischer" | Quincybringer
"W-Wait you want me to do it?! Fine-"
The Fullbringer grumbled quickly heading out of his apartment's fire escape and looking down onto the streets of Tokyo. The buildings almost obstructed the sun as the evening grew closer tonight. His father had called, a Hollow was somewhere near him and it needed to be dealt it. Honestly, Doku getting a sudden phone from his dad was rare, so he knew it must be urgent. His father would typically deal with these Hollow, but he was busy.
The sidewalks were rather busy, so he decided it was best to travel by the roofs. Using his bringer light he'd quickly leap to the roof from the escape. This would give him a better view of this Hollow, I mean how hard could it REALLY be to find? With a combination of Bringer Light and some portals thanks to his fullbring he would travel between the rooftops, he had a pretty solid read on some spiritual pressure.
Eventually, he found what he was looking for, down below in an alley was a unique-looking Hollow, it looked almost lost, but it was eating away at some poor souls. Holding his hand outwards, some purple reishi would form before his revolver appeared in his hand.
Doku got fancy with his fullbring and his gun, using his height advantage he would create a portal behind the Hollow, located right behind its head while it was still sitting and eating away at its dinner. The second end of this portal appears right above Doku. Where he would aim his shot, before firing his spirit bullets.
The bullets quickly struck the back of the monster's head, causing it to roar, jerking around and looking for its attacker. One minor problem with this plan... the monster, had wings. It quickly flew upwards, flapping its massive wings. It looked almost like a bat and a gorilla mixed. It was slow but seemed like a brutish tank.
Quickly shutting his portals, Doku would go back to shooting at the Hollow, trying to aim for the face where he could. Its body was... disproportionate, massive arms and body but a small head. Doku would use his Bringer Light to stay in the air, shooting while keeping his distance from the raging creature, after all, with a body that big he didn't want it to ram into any buildings.

"Bakudo Nine. Hōrin. "
Brilliant energy lanced out from the surrounding area and promptly snaked toward the flying hollow, slamming into the creature from it's side and promptly wrapping around it's frame and closing around it's frame, like a burning whip, it locked the creature's arms to it's sides, halting it's flight before a vicious tug slung the creature towards the earth before connecting with a loud crash.
When the dust settled, the Hollow would be seen in a crumpled mess of what had once been a small shed, and a Shinigami was standing just above it's bound frame. That dark hair of hers blowing in the wind as she raised her zanpakuto in a reverse grip, before promptly plunging it straight down into the center of the creature's throat, pinning it's body to the ground and severing it's spine at the neck, causing it's thrashing to stop suddenly. All save it's gurgling throat as she slowly flexed her arm, pushing to slowly turn her blade, the sharp edge slowly severing more and more of it's neck, aiming to behead the creature while it was still paralyzed.
However, the creature was still managing to try and tense itself, and she promptly turned her attention to the man up in the air, promptly barking out.
"You there! Get over here and help me hold this thing still!" She promptly ordered firmly, that sharp shift in her tone aimed to galvanize the young man into helping her restrain this creature so that she could finish it off. Of course, that hissing voice was hiding a bit of her own shame. After her successful transfer to the Eighth division, as luck would have it she was designated to assist on earth. Easy, naturally. Or so she'd thought. She'd been so used to dealing with Rukongai thugs and scum that she'd forgotten that a Hollow was only truly dealt with when it Mask was destroyed. And already a hint of paranoia was crawling up her spine, if she pulled her blace from its neck, would it regenerate and turn on her?
And so, she aimed to whip the boy into helping her finish the damn thing off.

The man was quiet when he heard Bakudo. A Shinigami? Well, help would be appreciated regardless of who it was. He didn't know what Nine did exactly but he watched the spell as it restricted the creature causing it to slam into the ground. It was a very impressive spell, to say the least, truth be told watching Yuri's execution was rather... excessive, maybe a bullet to the head would be a bit better? As the creature struggled and heard the woman bark at him, he paused momentarily.
"Hell must be frozen over if a Shinigami asks a Quincy for help..." He spoke, pointing his gun to aim at the creature, he would take a quick shot, creating a portal beneath his feet and next to Yuri, a bit above the ground. Now that the portals were open, he would fall causing him to appear directly next to the woman as his bullet likely already struck its mark. Truth be told he wasn't sure how to hold down the creature, he didn't have a binding spell quite like the Shinigami. Regardless he pointed his gun at the Hollow, going for shots trying to stagger the creature.
He shut the portal behind him, trying to aim for the vital spots as he kept shooting, due to his Reishi he didn't need to manually reload, instead feeding his gun with more Reishi bullets. Hoping the bullets would keep the monster pinned while Yuri dealt with it.

As the young man began shooting into the hollow, she raised her hand, about to slash through the Hollow's head. That is, until that snide comment came from the quincy and her eyes widened ever so slightly.
CRUNCH.
Hakuda pulsed through her body as she stomped down and sent her foot clean through the Hollow's spine and shoulder blades, a loud crunch as it's ribs cracked and the hollow itself screamed, it's spinal chord severed midway down it's back as she tore her blade from the creature's neck and sunk it clean from the top of it's mack down the back of it's neck and twisted, hearing it's head in half in that sudden burst of brutish motion, ...a fair bit more energy than she would have preferred to expend.
And a moment later, she turned to the young man and smiled calmly.
"Ah, thank you very much for the assist~ I'm sorry I didn't quite hear what you said. Who might you be?"

Hearing that crunch and the sight before him, this chick was ruthless she could of easily just sliced its neck and put it down. Yet here she was breaking its spine and being a bit barbaric. As this woman then turned and looked at him with a calm look, he would take a step back, putting a bit of distance away from the Shinigami.
He twirled his gun as it quickly faded into purple Reishi, seemingly disappearing into thin air. If Yuri were to get a reading on Doku's spirit energy it would feel... Quincy was the closest comparison. "A Fullbringer who saved your ass"
His tone sounded more sarcastic than accusatory. "I'm Doku." He spoke plainly. "So what's the deal with needing help~ Aren't Shinigami supposed to be able to handle Hollows~?"

Yuri's jaw tightened for just a moment as she regarded the shinigami. Though that friendly smile dropped completely as she heard the words 'saved your ass'. The fuck was this guy's problem? She didn't go glaring at him or giving him a piece of her mind, however. Rather, she simply tilted her head back ever so slightly, looking down her nose at what may as well have been a heap of trash on the corner.
"How charming. I was curious about what humans were like down here on earth. But I suppose that answers that question. Hm, 'saved my butt'?" She peeled her weapon from the hollow's frame and took several steps toward Doku, her head canting to the side for a moment.
"Really. Saving my butt, that must mean you're much stronger than I am." She hummed, glancing off to the side, peering for a moment at the damage that the hollow had done to the area. "If that's the case maybe I should just skip town. You seem to have this area covered, that way, I won't have to go getting saved and distracting you from your work." Her sone was dull and calm, but the way she anunciated her words had a sharpness to it, as if she were spitting the words out onto the floor rather than towards him. She had a job to do, she had no interest in sticking around some rude snot.

The purple-haired man would pause and watch her remove her weapon. He had never seen a Zanpakuto up close before, only in pictures. Though he was impressed with its ability to slice. As she approached he tried to get a better read on her. Though his focus was stopped as she spoke up, he... wasn't sure how to respond, at least not at first.
After a brief silence, he spoke up, his voice cracking a bit at first. "Wha-" He would look over as well, the Hollow had done minor damage, some roofs were damaged and some windows were broken, but thankfully nothing major.
"I- I was only kidding!" He seemed to get defensive, maybe he came off a little strong? "Well. This isn't exactly MY area- My dad and sister usually deal with Hollows. It's not my job to handle hollow- but I had to fill in" As he looked at Yuri's blade he would shake his head.
"You seem pretty skilled if I can be honest, I can't say I've seen someone crush a Hollow open with their feet-" He paused. "I- Don't think I got your name Miss Shinigami"

She maintained that unamused stare as Doku promptly backpedaled as fast as his little grubby feet could manage. Aggressively seeming to change his tact as no doubt, the notion of protecting the area without assistance struck some sort of chord within the young man. she let a hand rest on his hip. Internally, she was very much enjoying the man eating the mean his mouth had prepared for him. But she didn't show any of that, no she was going to stay looking pissed.
"All the more reason not to get involved, if your family trusts you with keeping the area safe all the more reason for me to put my attentions to other areas that don't have a brave, sassy Quincy to keep them safe." She stated with a very tiny tilt of her head, offering a gentle thumbs up to him before promptly turning her back on him. Taking just a moment to pause and glance over her shoulder, a very small smile forming on her lips.
"You certainly didn't." She confirmed, before vanishing with a shunpo.

Doku really didn't have much to say, words unable to escape from his mouth as he listened to the Shinigami call him out. After a brief bit of stuttering and thinking, he managed to spit out an answer.
"We-Well I don't usually do this! So I appreciate the help"
Though it seems she was already long gone, as she flashed stepped away. Well wasn't she just a ray of sunshine? Though Doku did bring it upon himself, but hey, he couldn't exactly beat himself up over it. At the same time, something about this Shinigami caught his attention, maybe he'd see her again? Maybe he'd get to know her name?
Regardless, with a heavy sight, he opened a portal behind him, leading to his house, as he shrugged and fell backward landing upon his bed, the portal shutting as Doku would simply lay in his bed, really thinking about what just happened.
