America presented itself as a land of stark contrasts to Veralia, each region painting a vastly different picture, a patchwork of the country's diverse ethos and landscapes. The expansive plains whispered tales of simplicity and serene farm life, where the rhythm of the day was set by the rising sun and the calls of the earth.
Yet, as she ventured into the pulsating heart of America's cities, the ambiance shifted dramatically. The urban landscape was a jungle of concrete and steel, throbbing with a palpable intensity that could overwhelm the senses. It is here where she could imagine hollows would thrive with all the abundant vices of sin out, the excess amount of humans to feed on, and the lack of care for one another made it easy to linger into the shadows of alleyways to escape such horrendous crimes.
Still, it wasn't all hellish. In the right city, you can always find cozy spots where you can unwind, relax, and find something good to drink or eat. It was the pursuit of such pleasures that led Veralia to find herself in a rather unique spot—an outdoor bar and BBQ restaurant, perched alone atop its rooftop seating. Enjoying a plate of spicy BBQ Ribs and a glass of Mezcal Negroni with a slice of fresh jalapeño, this meal appeased her fiery senses.
After taking a hard swig of her drink, Veralia leaned back, taking in the view, the flavors, and the serenity of the moment. However, something was off. A look of confusion bled across her gaze before she turned around and sensed the presence of another Arrancar coming from the shadows. Intrigued, but not threatened yet, she called out in a casual tone to the person:
"Care to join me, or do you plan to lurk all evening?"

"Oh don't you worry. 'Ve been doin plenty a lurkin the past few days." A low, gravelly voice muttered as the soft groan of leather marked a stranger sitting across from the woman, short, blonde hair and striking blue eyes were the more immediate features of the man that sat down and looked the arrancar dead in the eye.
"Not often a visitor comes rolling into town." The man murmured. He was hardly skinny, pretty fairly built, but not quite what one might call a brute. His outfit was mostly white leather, but the glint of steel in the opening of his jacket showed that he wasn't just some random stranger. Especially not with the way he was staring the woman down.
"I'm a bit of specialist around these parts, I like to make sure the town is nice and clean. I don't like a mess to clean up. And so I wanted to check in on the town's newest visitor." A lopsided little smile showed across his face as he raised his hands, a playfdul little smirk on his features. "You could say I specialize in welcoming people." He explained, pulling up the menu. "Whether that's ....helping them find a nice spot to settle for some rest. Or guiding them to a town that's....better suited to them" He glanced briefly back up at Veralia.
"You planning on staying. Or are you just passing through?" He asked, his voice just a hint firm now as he made clear that he was assessing the arrancar's intentions. Not quite an outright threat or hostility, but certainly a healthy dose of incredulity.
Of course, it was at that point, that the waitress arrived and set a fresh drink infront of Ver, offering a napkin beside it before offering a smile to the both of them.
"Howdy there! Name's Verdada. Stace had a little bit of a mishap in the kitchen so I'll be yer waitress for the rest of the evening! Anything else I can get you two?" The bespeckled arrancar would ask, looking between the two seated individuals. Clearly unaware that the man had only just joined Ver.

Veralia took another sip of her drink; letting its hot contents burn down her throat as her blood gaze turned to the discerning male. Observing his body language and tone, the woman read between the lines and figured he was someone trying to keep the balance of the city or some type of vigilante.
Regardless of what he was, a small chuckle escaped her lips when he eventually asked her if she was staying or leaving this city.
"You can call me a tourist. Just passing through, checking out what the city's got on show."
Her voice carried a playful, yet firm edge to it. As she took another bite of her ribs; her her eyes remained on the stranger until the waitress came to offer a napkin to the two. That took her attention away from him and toward her, not hesitating to take the napkin and wipe her face and fingers clean. No sense in being dirty around someone who piqued her interest.
"I'm set with the meal, dear. But how about we top off with some more drinks?
Veralia's tone changed to that of intrigue and invitation as her gaze turned to the unknown man beside her. With and sealing the offer, she continued.
"But go ahead, ask him what he wants. Ain't no skin off my back~"

The young man smiled at that, pleased to see the response from Veralia. "Is that right? Glad to hear it. Always nice to have a bit of fresh blood in the town now and then." He slowly stood up, peeling a card from his coat and planting it onto the table. "Name's Zyph. If you ever need any help, let me know." He noted with a sly smirk, before turning to the Waitress herself and offering a lopsided nod. "Her bill is on me. Have a good one." He informed her, before turning and taking his leave of the table.
Verdada herself blinked a few times, but didn't make a fusss about it. Zy, she'd learned, was just like that, in the week or so she'd been helping out here. "Ahah, well uh. Of course Miss! Did you want a refill, or something else?" She ventured with a tilt of her head and a warm smile on her face as she waited for Veralia to make a decision. Of course she recognized another arrancar, and no doubt Ver's own pesquisa would pick that up without issue, but she hardly brought it up. focusing instead on just getting the woman's drink. After all, the shift was almost over soon as she got this table squared away, she resisted the urge to put any urgency in her voice. Besides, not like she had any plans, just finish up the shift and make sure it ends on a good note, right?

Veralia's eyes peered back down at the card the man had given her. After taking another look at him, he wasn't bad looking and she felt like she fancied both of them if circumstances were different. Though it seemed like he was more intent on getting back to his duties, so she shoved the card into her shirt to hold as a coy smirk came across her lips.
"Oh, I'll let you know. I appreciate the free meal, dear."
Pleased, she took another sip of her drink; letting its spicy contents delightfully burn her throat before turning her blood gaze back to Verdada. Despite her laid-back demeanor, she sensed something was off with her energy signature; but it didn't bother Verlaia either. Not every hollow or arrancar wants everyone to know their business and attract trouble.
So with a chuckle escaping her lips, she figured she'd engage and see what she could glean from her.
"Sure, I could use another drink. Got anything on tap that kicks a bit harder? I'm looking to jazz up my evening."
Glancing back at the cityscape, she tapped her chin thoughtfully as she observed the setting sun on the endless rows of buildings beyond them.
"And do you know any spots around this city I should keep an eye on? Anything quirky or trouble-prone?"

Verdada smiled lopsidedly as Veralia took such things in stride, and she couldn't help but be reminded a little of someone. The soft crackle of her fingers digging into the wood of the table sounded as she stared at the woman for a few long seconds before giving a slight chuckle. "Nothing around these parts. If you want a real kick, there's a brewmaster down in the valley that has some fancy kicks, perfect for tourists looking to have a good time. If you're brave enough for it." She hummed, picking up one of the empty plates infront of Veralia and then glancing up over the rim of her glasses with a sly smile.
"But~ If you're looking for trouble. I can imagine a few places you might like. Just depending on what ....species of trouble you're looking for." A knowing wing offered as she did. Not flirtatious, but that slow, subtle tip of the hat that informed Veralia that what Verdada had to offer wasn't quite something worthy of the general public.

Veralia took a curious glance at Verdada's fingers that traced against the wooden table. For a brief second, her right eyebrow rose before her gaze turned back to the other Arrancar's invitation.
"Trouble, huh? Doesn't that sound interesting?"
Rising to her feet, Veralia placed her hands on her hips, adopting a posture that signaled her readiness to dive deeper into whatever Verdada was proposing. She gave Verdada another evaluative glance, her gaze sharp and expectant.
"Sounds juicy. Tell me more."
Her tone indicated her readiness to engage with the potential chaos and her desire to understand exactly what kind of intrigue Verdada was hinting at.

Well that sure was easy, Verdada kept up that friendly smile as she watched the woman. She really was just taking this all in huh? Not even the slightest hint of uncertainty or consideration about Verdada's phrasing. No follow up questions? No scrutiny? The woman seemed all too happy to just take whatever came at her.
What a reckless bitch~
Picking up the plates she offered a little nod to the woman, that friendly customer service smile still firmly on her lips as she gava knowing nod. . "Afraid that'll have to wait until the end of my shift. But if you're really interested. Meet me out on the North Corner after Five. If you can be a little patient until then, I'd be more than happy to show you around. There's a side of town that's been giving Blue-eyes quite a bit of trouble the last few months. I'm sure he might even be thankful if you could clean things up a little." She assured the woman. She had a pretty good idea of what an arrancar would be looking around for, especially asking for trouble. And well. She'd also seen the looks the woman was giving the sheriff.

Veralia continued to hold her gaze; never batting her eyes away from Verdada for too long. Only occasionally giving parting glances at the plates she shuffled through as if lost in thought.
"After five, huh? Who knows what I'll get up to by then? Guess you'll have to trust me at my word."
Her tone of voice was tinged with playfulness as she glanced back in the direction that the supposed sheriff of this city went.
"And if this city is as much trouble as you've implied, it must be hard to come by people you can trust."
Stepping toward the ledge of the rooftop, Veralia's eyes surveyed the cityscape; taking in her surroundings and taking pleasure in the quietness of the moment. Despite the stillness, her presence was marked by a subtle aura of emerald energy that enveloped her, glowing softly in the twilight.
"It's like Hueco Mundo: you have folks who use power and violence to get what they want, while others use crafter methods like flattery, lust, lies, and charisma to get what they want. It's funny how similar humans and Arrancar can be at times."
Turning back to face Verdada, her expression remained cool yet curious, seeking affirmation or insight from her companion.
"Do you agree?"

Verdada perked a brow slightly as she was about to take her leave and Veralia seemed to have other things in mind. Briefly, she felt a slight tremor of confusion. Was she trying to play hard to get? But Verdada was the one making offers, why would she care if Veralia didn't make it? The opener was such a weird transition that she almost missed the implication that the woman seemed to not trust her. Mentions of not being trustworthy, about lies and all that shit. Awful indirect for an arrancar, maybe showing this woman toward trouble wasn't a good idea after all. They might just rip the woman's spine in half.
"Caution is understandable, just as understandable as fear. If you decide not to show up, I'll understand~" She stated with a crooked smile, before promptly turning her back on the woman and heading off to take the dishes back to the kitchen. A bit amused, to say the least, by Veralia's attempt at applying pressure. Still, she supposed she'd find out if the woman's caution kept her away. It wasn't as if she had anything to lose.
