Psychological Analysis
Despite his massive and imposing stature, Komamura is a man with a pure and just heart. He believes strongly in the good in others, sometimes to his own detriment as he can be unwilling to accept when they are shown to be black of heart. Despite betraying Soul Society, showing himself to be a liar and traitor, and even attempting to kill him and Hisagi, Komamura still refused to accept Tosen was evil and promised to open his eyes and bring him back to the side of justice.
In the past Komamura led his Division as Captain by example, allowing his lieutenant Iba to recruit and handle many facets of the squad. Despite this, he was not uncaring toward them; a lifetime of being treated like a pariah for his appearance taught him to live with others at an arm's length. He would still put his life on the line for his subordinates and even strangers, should it be the just thing to do. When allies and enemies alike speak ill of the man who saw beyond the physical and gave him a sense of purpose, Komamura has quickly responded with rage; the same can be said when his subordinates are attacked. It was Yamamoto's acceptance of him that instilled in him this sense of justice, and it was the disgust on others' faces that turned him into a serious, stalwart Shinigami.
In battle, Komamura's usual serious, but kind, persona is replaced by one of ruthless efficiency as he doles out justice without hesitation. When Kenpachi refused to back down, despite being another Captain, Komamura was fully prepared to destroy him with his Bankai and it was only the sudden release of Ryūjin Jakka from attempting to do so. Against Choe Neng Poww he wasted no time in trying to ruthlessly beat the Arrancar down, and went as far as releasing his Bankai to kill him in one shot.
Komamura is a strong believer in improvement through hard work. He encouraged his subordinates to train and work harder than their peers, to be the best versions of themselves they can be. He detested Tosen's decision to debase himself by making a deal with the devil, in this case Aizen, to gain power beyond his normal abilities, and saw his Hollowfication as a corruption. As Captain, he cultivated a culture of sincerity, ethics, and compassion for others. He expected his squad to work not just in service to themselves and the Gotei, but all those around them. His strong convictions about living honorably and with a sense of duty influenced all those who served under him.
As a man capable of both great anger and forgiveness, he is far more complex than the story his oftentimes-cold exterior may tell. The best example of this is how he gently cared for dogs while serving as Captain in the Gotei. This gentle giant still exists, however there is also a great shame plaguing Komamura due to his century-long absence from Seireitei and the Gotei. Though he doesn't regret gambling everything, including his life, to help defeat Ender's army, he does feel he's disrespected Yamamoto's legacy by staying in the shadows instead of helping when he could have.
Likes: Courage, good work ethic, compassion and sincerity, dogs
Dislikes: Treachery, cruelty, shallow and superficial people, carrots
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
–Please see canon for events before PH history–
With Aizen's defeat at the hands of Ichigo and company, with the entire Gotei Thirteen backing them, peace returned to the realms. Sajin Komamura had his wounds healed and returned to Soul Society, where he placed a grave for Tosen next to his old friend's. Afterwards he returned to the Gotei and worked with the rest of the Divisions to build towards a better future, with Soul Society's greatest threat now gone for good.
A few months later, strange happenings began in the Living Realm involving elevated Hollow attacks. This quickly spiraled until the Gotei had to take extra measures to deal with the imbalance of the soul cycle, including the extermination of souls in Rukongai. Komamura argued for finding a better path forward, but he loyally followed Yamamoto's decision to proceed as planned. Later, with the arrival of Demons serving their king, Ender, Komamura was one of many Gotei warriors dispatched to defend the living.
At the war escalated, Komamura grew frustrated. He wanted to do his duty and protect the living, but even the Gotei's full might couldn't subdue the hordes spreading across the globe like an unholy plague. With every loss on the battlefield, he felt like he was failing the Gotei and Yamamoto. After a full decade of war, Komamura was more resolute than ever. He needed a way to turn the tide, to guarantee victory for Soul Society.
And so Komamura returned to the shadows of Rukongai, where his people dwelt in the darkness. He returned to the Wolfman Clan. It was there he met with the Great Ancestor, a massive wolf of incredible wisdom and hatred. The Great Ancestor was no fan of Komamura, who had fled from their people as a young man to seek a better life; here, returned, he was not welcome. But he would not be sent away, and instead demanded to be taught the secrets of their clan so that he may better fight the Demons on Earth.
The Great Ancestor, knowing he was sending his descendant to die, agreed on a single term: If Komamura survives the battle to come, he would return to the Wolfman Clan and never leave again. Though he knew his word was bond, he accepted this deal anyway, knowing if he didn't and the enemy won, there would be nothing to return to anyway. The Great Ancestor taught him of an ancient and powerful technique to trade a lifetime for a moment, and had Komamura carve out his own heart as a sacrifice. Determined to see this true, he did just that.
It had come time for a final all-out battle between the Gotei and the Demon horde at the war's climax. The scale of this clash was unlike any before it, even putting the Winter War against Aizen to shame. Komamura fought on and on, through and beyond injuries that would put a lesser man down. He would not falter, not with Yamamoto fighting alongside him. Against one of Ender's most powerful lieutenants, he was backed into a corner and forced to reveal his changed Bankai: Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō: Dangai Jōe. In exchange for his life he could become temporarily immortal, proven by the gaping holes the enemy left in his chest to no avail.
Though he destroyed his foe, Komamura was left too weakened to aid Yamamoto in his own fight with Ender. The last thing he remembered seeing was the man he had dedicated his life to serving loyally clash one final time with the enemy's commander, ending in their mutual demise. Komamura woke sometime later, awash in darkness. He felt...different. He was no longer himself, no longer just a soul or Shinigami. Within his chest beat a powerful energy unlike anything he'd felt before.
Revealing himself, the Great Ancestor congratulated him on surviving the war. A peculiar thing given he had actually died out on the battlefield. He told Komamura of an ancient legend of Rukongai: When a soul of pure heart dies without one, they may be reborn with one sewn from the fabric of the world. According to the Great Ancestor this legend is another believed by those who pray to Mimihagi at its Shrine, but was thought to be nothing more than a fairy tale by anyone else, including him. Komamura stood before him as evidence of the legend's truth.
He further explained to Komamura the history of this legend. In a time so ancient even the Great Ancestor was just a pup, the Great Ancestor was told a story of when a brilliant light shone over the Rukongai, bathing its residents in a warmth unlike any other. For a fleeting moment millions of souls' heartbeats were in sync, connecting them all to each other; then, as quickly as it started, it was finished. The sky blackened and night returned. Whispers turned to rumors turned to tales turned to legends, all of which were some variation of the Soul King testing the hearts of Soul Society and, finding none pure enough, did not grant any his blessing. Komamura was unsure of the story, but didn't question it.
Though he wanted to return to the Gotei to mourn Yamamoto and continue serving, Komamura's word was his bond. To the Gotei, he had disappeared upon being brought back to Soul Society for emergency medical treatment and was now officially Missing-in-Action, which he learned from the Wolfman Clan members who dared to venture out into the Rukongai. When he tried to follow in their footsteps, Komamura was struck with tremendous pain in his chest as he grew overwhelmed with the emotions flowing out of the souls around him, and was forced to return to the Clan.
Years later, things had changed beyond the confines of the Clan's territory but life within had mostly stayed the same. One difference for Komamura was his ability to withstand the deluge of powerful emotions from others that had previously overwhelmed his heart. Beyond that, he lived peacefully when he could. This peace was interrupted by a new invasion of Demons, let in by a corrupt successor of the man who had given him everything. Wrath of the purest kind enveloped him, nearly causing him to break his oath to his ancestor; but he could not leave. Not yet. He could only dole out swift punishment to the unlucky few who came too close to the Clan, careful not to draw too much attention as he destroyed the interlopers.
World War IV was another time of great difficulty for Komamura, who wanted so badly to help in the fight against the enemy he once gambled everything to defeat. But still, he could not leave. It was only when the Great Ancestor neared the end of his long life did things change for the old Captain, and in his final act he granted Komamura the freedom he wished for. Upon his death, their bond would be broken and he could return to the Soul Society he loved. It wasn't until the end of the war did the final embers of the Great Ancestor's life go out.
In his final moments the Great Ancestor revealed all he dared to Komamura, including the truth behind the Soul King's Heart. He told him the basis of the legend was true, many years ago a huge light did brighten the sky, but people's hearts weren't connected. The sky was lit up by the heart itself, which had fallen from far above Seireitei and flew like a falling star in the night. He followed the light and eventually found it, still beating on the ground. It had called to him, like a parasite looking for a host; and when he touched the heart, a flash of light concealed it switching places with his own.
The Great Ancestor's revelation he was the second to own the heart shocked Komamura, who questioned how he had come to succeed him. The elder Wolfman explained the heart gave him incredible vitality and allowed him to continue growing far beyond the normal limits for their kind, and an endless life. After so many years though, this immortality felt more like a curse than a gift; and so he created the secret Wolfman Clan technique to find a worthy successor. Whoever used the technique not for himself, but for others, would be worthy of receiving the heart as they would prove their own heart golden enough to use the gift and curse honorably.
Though it took many years, his body was finally giving out without the heart to sustain it; and so now it would be Komamura's burden to bear, to use how he sees fit. In this moment he felt unworthy, the shame of his loss and Yamamoto's death weighing on him heavily. But he made another promise that day, that he would live with the courage and morality Yamamoto had instilled in him, and that he would find a way to be worthy of the heart, Genyusai's legacy, and Soul Society's expectations. And so did the mightiest and most ancient of Wolfmen pass on, finally knowing the peace of death.
Since the Clan leader's death, Komamura has traveled clad in full armor, hesitant to reveal his identity to the world. He did not want to complicate things, nor was he eager to to be welcomed back; though he stayed true to his word, the suffering of those he could have saved had he broken it was a stain on his soul.
POWERS AND ABILITIES
» Heart of the Soul King: Exactly as it sounds. That which now beats in Komamura's chest once resided in the Soul King's. It imbues him with incredible vitality, halts his aging, and does all the same things regular hearts do, though it does them flawlessly. Because of this, the blood that courses through Komamura's veins is pure and immune to all but the strongest toxins. In addition, it can, in conjunction with his bone marrow, replace blood at a supernatural rate, to the point where Komamura could sustain multiple fatal wounds and not succumb to bleeding out.
This heart doesn't just purify his blood; it also purifies his Reiryoku. The power within him, and the resulting Reiatsu that radiates from it, are both transformed into a purer form which is fundamentally different from that of Shinigami, Hollows, and Quincies. To them his Spiritual Pressure would appear a bit alien, though not wholly unfamiliar; to Hollows however, it would feel like he is their very antithesis, and could even cause feelings of dread or instinctual danger.
The Soul King's Heart has turned Komamura into a kind of empath. He is constantly able to sense the hearts of those around him, and through this can detect when they are feeling strong emotions as well as if their heart is "dark" or not, meaning he has insight into their true selves. While this doesn't allow him to automatically tell whether a person is evil or not, it does allow him some knowledge of who they truly are. Komamura has spent years learning to control this power so as to not be overwhelmed by it, particularly in times of great distress for those around him.
Lastly, the Heart of the Soul King possesses one more ability: the power the convert energy into physical strength. Essentially how this functions is it can pull in ambient Reishi from the environment, in almost Quincy-esque fashion, and convert it into a usable form that can be distributed throughout Komamura's body to enhance his physical strength, speed, and durability all a significant amount, depending on how much it absorbs. The amount of workable ambient Reishi is dependent on those around him, and so against enemies of lower Spirit Class it's unlikely to convert much power, while those on Komamura's level or stronger can provide ample fuel for his heart.
» Titanic Strength: True to his imposing stature, Komamura possesses incredible and often overwhelming strength. Whether he is fighting with Hakuda or Zanjutsu, his attacks are packed with a mighty punch. He was able to come to blows with Kenpachi without struggling, and against Choe Neng Poww, who was bigger than a building, Komamura easily threw him over his shoulder. With a swing of his sword he can create a huge blast capable of destroying a building or opening a fissure in the ground, or effortlessly send an enemy flying through a dozen buildings. He was able to fight on par, for a while, with Tosen pre- and post-Resurreccion thanks to his physical strength matching that of the empowered Vizard's.
» Durability and Endurance: Due to the physical nature of his Zanpakuto and fighting style, Komamura is often directly on the receiving end of his enemies' most powerful attacks. Oftentimes when this happens he is able to tank the brunt of these blows and get back up to keep fighting, or not get knocked over at all. He is willing to put his body in the way of attacks, such as when he uses his bracers to block sword swings among other things, because of the confidence he has in his ability to take them on. In addition, Komamura is able to take an incredible amount of punishment and keep fighting. He managed to get back up a short while after Aizen hit him with Hadō 90, and walk away without any support. Against Tosen he sustained myriad injuries and continued fighting, unfazed by the deep lacerations and blood loss.
» Fighting Style: The way Komamura fights utilizes all of his best traits. He mixes Zanjutsu with Hakuda in close quarters, slashing with Tenken one second and aiming a tremendous punch the next. He often uses the bracers he wears to block an attack with the back of his fist or wrist, then following it up with a ferocious strike of his own with his Zanpakuto. He is a highly skilled swordsman, able to go toe to toe with other talented swordsmen without issue, and is able to fight with Tenken as an extension of his arm despite it's tremendous size. Though not incredibly fast, Komamura uses his enhanced reflexes to keep up with quicker enemies in close quarters. He also willingly puts his body into harm's way in order to land an attack he otherwise wouldn't or couldn't.
ZANPAKUTO INFORMATION
» Zanpakuto Name: Tenken (天譴, Heavenly Punishment)
» Spirit Summary: Tenken strongly resembles its Bankai in appearance, as Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō is a physical representation of him. Like Komamura, Tenken strongly believes in living courageously and possesses a strong sense of honor.
» Inner World: Tenken's Inner World is a large square wooden floor with a twenty foot high pillar on each corner and no roof, in the middle of a vast open field.
» Sealed Appearance: While sealed and in Shikai, Tenken resembles a standard katana though its blade is longer, wider, and thicker than comparable swords, befitting Komamura's tremendous size.
» Sealed Power: None
SHIKAI INFORMATION
» Release Phrase: Roar, Tenken
» Shikai Appearance: No physical change
» Shikai Abilities: In Shikai Tenken possesses the ability to summon a spectral disembodied limb of a massive iron-clad giant. These limbs perfectly replicate Komamura's movements and attacks, and possess greater physical power than him. For instance, by swinging his Zanpakuto he can summon a huge sword-wielding arm that will follow his swing at the same speed, often catching his foes unaware as they don't expect such a large attack to be so quick. He can summon these limbs for attacks within a large area, specifically in a fifty yard radius around him.
BANKAI INFORMATION
» Bankai Name: Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō (黒縄天譴明王, Vidyaraja of Kalasutra's Heavenly Punishment)
» Bankai Appearance: Komamura summons a massive black armored giant, the owner of the phantom limbs his Shikai summons. It resembles a samurai in black armor with horns atop its head and a red and black cloth covering over most of its red face.
» Bankai Abilities: Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō can best be described as an avatar of destruction. Like his Shikai, Komamura's Bankai follows his motions exactly except instead of an individual limb, its a colossal giant doing it. The giant is both incredibly durable, able to brush off Cero and other powerful attacks without issue, and attacks with far more strength than Komamura. Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō is able to lay waste to large swaths of land in single blows, being more akin to a natural disaster. With a swing of its sword it was able to completely warp and shatter a Hollow mask-clad Tosen's arm, and even caused significant damage to him after Hollowfying completely, particularly to his head.
Due to the powerful bond between Komamura and Tenken, they are essentially one and the same in Bankai: Meaning, when either is damaged, so too is the other. This essentially turns Komamura into a much larger target, making him vulnerable to attacks he might otherwise be able to dodge. However, this goes both ways. Should Komamura be healed, so too is Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō. This makes it unique among Bankai as typically if one is damaged enough, it can never be fully restored, at least not to its previous state.
- » Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō: Kamikakutsusuji (黒縄天譴明王 神核継脈, Vidyaraja of Kalasutra's Heavenly Punishment: Divine Core Succession Pulse): Upon receiving the Soul King's Heart, Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō attained a new power to reflect this change as it, too, gained a new heart. Unlike his own heart, which could not sustain himself and Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō separately, the Soul King's can. In essence, this allows Komamura to give Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō its own "heartbeat", giving it "free will". In practice, for three posts a thread Komamura and his Bankai can act independently, attacking and defending entirely separately. This can be used to lure an enemy into a false sense of security by convincing them the giant can only replicate his actions, only to then prove otherwise with a devastating attack from different directions. In addition, the injuries they sustain are also limited to their own bodies, but once their separation ends, their injuries are equalized, potentially leaving both in a catastrophic state.
FORMER ABILITIES
» Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō: Dangai Jōe (黒縄天譴明王: 断鎧縄衣, Vidyaraja of Kalasutra's Heavenly Punishment: Severed Mail and Thread-Clad): By offering his heart up as a sacrifice, Komamura was able to trade his life for temporary immortality. In the final climactic battle with Ender's army, he used this transformed version of his Bankai, which stripped away the giant's armor to reveal an emaciated demonic form with flames for eyes and skin pulled tight across its bones. While his Bankai remained released, both Komamura and Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō were unkillable. That is, while they could sustain injuries, they would not fall, for he had staked his life on achieving victory. Against one of Ender's lieutenants it proved insurmountable, as Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō's physical form was now made of Reiatsu, allowing it to ignore all of the demon's attacks.
RP SAMPLE
Eyes turned as a giant armored figure made its way past them, silent and foreboding. Here in Ryūgon, Thirty Seventh District of East Rukongai, little out of the norm ever occurred. It was far enough away from Seireitei to avoid the different invasions over the years, but not quite so far out so as to be overrun by criminals. Life here was peaceful. Souls went about their business, not intent on causing each other headache, and disturbances were rare. So who was this massive thing impeding upon their quiet lives, daring to walk on their heavily-trodden roads?
It had been decades, no, a century since Sajin Komamura openly traveled through the Rukongai. Yet nothing had changed. He knew these streets, dirt-strewn and dusty, and these buildings. Maybe it was different people living here, but they weren't different people. He knew this from their stares, they were the same as the ones who forced him into this armor in the first place. But now he didn't wear it to avoid their judgments. Now he wore it to give himself form, to not be a ghost of the past haunting Soul Society. It wasn't animosity he was hiding from, but his own shame.
As Komamura continued on, his presence a distraction to the people of Ryūgon, motion in his peripheral caught his eye. Then, a scream. When he turned to look he saw a woman clad in an apron waving her arms and yelling in the direction of a sprinting child. Though he could guess at what happened, he still chose to approach the woman and asked what occurred.
"What happened here, ma'am?"
"That thief stole food! And it isn't the first time, either!"
"I understand. I'll handle this."
Before the woman could respond and tell him it was too late, the thief was long gone, Komamura vanished from view. He followed the kid's steps with Shunpo, overtaking him before long. He wasn't difficult to find as he'd ducked into an alleyway to sit and eat the pittance of a meal he'd manage to swipe. Noticing he was suddenly in shade, the kid looked up and found a hulking figure near ten feet tall looming over him. Frozen in fear, he could only watch as the giant leaned down and knelt before him, and gently pressed his wrist-sized finger into his chest.
"You have a good heart, but you steal anyway. Why?"
"I-I only take food, mister. I swear."
"What about your family?"
"I came to Soul Society by myself and...nobody wanted me. They'd say I'm "different". Just 'cause I don't want to sit here doing nothin'. I...I want to be a Shinigami! Isn't that what you are?"
"Aim higher than me, little one. But first, stand tall and be a man."
When he finished speaking Komamura dropped a few coins into the boy's hand and stood back up. His meaning was clear, but there was always a possibility the budding thief would take the money and run. But he doubted it. The blessing in his chest told him what would happen, so as he turned and left he did not follow the boy to make sure did what was honorable, what was right. He knew he would. Now, Komamura turned his attention back to the path he was on, one both terrifying and necessary. He continued on, the Seireitei looming ever closer.
Second Sample
Karakura, once a calm city in Japan, was now little more than smoldering ruins. It had spent the last decade under siege, and now as Captain Sajin Komamura stood amidst the charred remains, he could barely recognize the sleepy town he and his comrades had once fought that wretched Aizen in. He scanned the horizon, his golden eyes settling upon the ocean of black surrounding Karakura Town. Though the sun shone brightly above, its rays could not pierce the monstrous horde of demons outnumbering the Gotei's forces.
Though the odds were against them, the long war had worn on Soul Society and depleted its army, Komamura stood as an unwavering bulwark. Squad Seven soldiers, some grizzled veterans, others fresh out of the Academy, were no such figures of courage; they were filled with fear, for their fellow man, for themselves. Fearful of losing their lives. But no such fear lived within Komamura, who had already cast aside his life.
Sajin looked at the man heading up this final defense, the mighty Captain Commander Yamamoto, greatest of the Shinigami. His own personal hero. He was steeled by the man's presence, and sought to do the same for his own soldiers. "Squad Seven. Do not be afraid. Do not show fear. So long as Genryūsai-dono stands, so does Soul Society. Stand strong and fight!"
------------------------------
"Huff..huff..." Sajin Komamura stood amidst a sea of dead. Enemies and allies alike lay at his feet. Familiar faces peaked out from the piles of corpses, but this was no time for mourning. His attention was focused entirely on the smiling monster a few dozen feet away. This man, a figure of unblemished perfection in a hellscape of grime and death, was one of Ender's top lieutenants and had so far only played at fighting.
"I am Seventh Division Captain Sajin Koma-"
"Oh, I know who you are, dog. I know everything about you. Look around you. You and your little Zanpakuto aren't gonna change your fate! You can't do a thing."
"I've long since learned words are meaningless in this war. But you're wrong. You don't know everything. Bankai! Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō: Dangai Jōe!"
With a tremendous roar, Komamura raised his Zanpakuto and unleashed a blast of Reiatsu that crushed the ground around him and even managed to turn the ever-present smile on the demon's face into a scowl. A gigantic looming form appeared behind Sajin, a Bankai Ender's forces were intimately familiar with. But something was...different. Steam was billowing from the iron samurai's armor. That which usually proved the first line of protection for Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō was evaporating, slowly revealing a skeletal form beneath it.
"But, that's not your Bankai! Shinigami's Bankai can't just suddenly change like this!"
"I've staked everything on this fight, including my own life! Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō: Dangai Jōe is proof of my gamble! See how far I'll go to do my duty!"
With fire in his eyes, Sajin lifted his Zanpakuto and swung downwards, his Bankai's massive sword following suit. It fell upon the demon like a guillotine, though it did not hit its mark. The demon had dodged past the blade and, upon summoning a huge anchor, slammed it into the chest of the unarmored giant. His laughter at piercing through both it and Sajin's chest quickly turned to silence as an unflinching Sajin stared him down. Komamura mimed grabbing the anchor and pulled it from his Bankai's torso, then slashed directly at the demon who this time could not manage to dodge in time.
"Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō's life was in its armor. Without it, it has nothing to fear; and neither do I. With our life cast aside, we can't lose!" With another swing of his arm, the massive blade fell upon his foe, crushing the demon and sending him deep into a fissure in the ruins. A moment later he reappeared, his wounds healing rapidly. Sajin knew these high level demons possessed incredible regeneration, and acted quickly to strike again. The giant followed his every motion, its sword flying through the air, opening large rifts in the swaths of enemies as it did.
A sudden explosion of pitch black energy enveloped Sajin's Bankai, singing him head to toe. But he felt no pain. Or, at least, he was unperturbed by the pain. So long as Genryusai-dono fought the enemy's leader, he could not, would not, fall. Even as the heat from his Commander's Zanpakuto burned his fur and dried out his eyes, even as exhaustion nipped at his fingers and toes, he would fight. The fire never once left Sajin's eyes as he struck once, twice, thrice with his Zanpakuto, relentlessly brute forcing his way through his foe's healing factor.
From billowing smoke and dust a huge anchor flew out and impaled Sajin's Bankai, again opening a gaping hole in his own chest. Only this time, he could sense his body struggling to ignore it. This fight had to end here. He could tell the war was reaching its climax as even Yamamoto seemed to grow weary from the hours-long battle. Sajin gritted his teeth and growled, pushing through the pain clouding his vision.
"Raaagghh!!" With one final swing of his Zanpakuto, Sajin's Bankai once more dropped its massive sword upon his foe, crushing the demon beneath its might. He could no longer sense life from his enemy...but he couldn't sense anything from above either. Or anywhere else for that matter. The skeletal Bankai quickly dissolved as his Zanpakuto sealed itself, the remaining dregs of energy leaving him. He searched desperately for Yamamoto, his golden eyes working to pierce the nearby smoke. Before he could step forward, all strength disappeared from his body and Sajin felt himself begin to hurtle toward the burning remains of Karakura. Two others were falling from the sky, and in that moment he knew how the war had ended as darkness gripped him.
"Genryusai...dono..."

- While I appreciate you putting his kido at Untrained, especially as he showcases no kidou feats in the series to my knowledge. The idea that he would be a captain with Zaraki levels of Kido competency feels a little strange and him having a Beginner or Adept, but a preference to not use it feels more appropriate to his character.
