Halcyon Days Bygone Summers [Reida]

She paused when Reida grabbed her arm who found time to gloat but she was centuries too young to compete with her in any serious capacity. There was no difference between a crop and this woman. They both existed to grow, ripen, and be harvested.

Her arm twisted to break the hold, catching Reida in the motion to flip her into the air unless she wanted to demonstrate a new trick. Assuming she fell it would be the merciless steel-toed boots worn over the fishnets that'd strike her on the way back down.

"No, this might be your first time meeting me but I made you what you are. It's a little pretentious to assume I just stumbled upon you at this very moment, right?"

In the loosest sense of the word though, it wasn't like she loomed in the shadows for the entirety of any fullbringer's life which she had a part in creating but one should always check in every now and again.

She in fact did not have any special tricks to break out against that move, and Reida let out a yelp of pain as she slammed into the ground, the injury made even worse by the reinforced boot. Glaring upward, Reida's hand still reached to grab at the leg which had struck her.

"You ain't made shit, you wordy bitch..!"

With a yank certainly more powerful than she was otherwise normally able to muster up, Reida aimed to slam her opponent into the ground. No, she didn't want to hurt Brae, but this was getting to the point where she couldn't think about that. No, she'd already stopped thinking about it.

She chuckled to herself when she heard what Reida felt was the pertinent thing to comment on. She had her priorities all over the place but this was problematic in this body. The feeling of being flipped was annoying but managed by the fact that Reida was doing little more than flipping a slightly empowered human.

"Reida, ya gonna kill me!"

The voice called out with more sincerity, a mask of concern to try and make her attacker pause in the heat of the moment. Just long enough to impale the human's abdomen with the knfie.

Reida hadn't been listening to her foe speak, but that had been instinctive, based on recognition of how she was talking rather than any real thought behind it. Hearing Brae's voice come again normally shook her out of that fury, which was roughly the worst thing that could have happened in the moment, as Reida's attention shifted away and allowed for the knife to simply stab straight into her midsection.

She'd been through a lot in her life, but this was the first time she'd ever gotten an injury quite like this. Her eyes shot open, and a hand instinctively moved to cover the injury, a combination of fury and shock taking over her. Her expression darkened as she stared at the figure pretending to be her friend, but she wasn't wholly sure what to do now.

"I'd never kill Brae. Whatever the hell you are, though..."

Sharply inhaling, Reida could more viscerally feel something going on with the wound she'd just taken, though she didn't know what it was. It didn't feel right at all, and it certainly didn't hurt any less.

"You're a real different story."

"You cannot go forward though, you're so worried about your dear friend but there's more important things for you to worry about right now."

She said while trying to shove the human to the side. This stupid jacket was just restricting her but they were in the middle of a fight. The purple eyes narrowed to keep a keen eye on their quarry. There were no complaints so far with the performance, a little bit longer and she'd be satisfied.

"Do you really think you can kill me?"

It had to be asked. A genuine question to know if this wretched brat though she could compete with the weight of many centuries all compressed into a single soul.

Wincing as she was knocked over, the wound in her side still hardly feeling spectacular despite the relatively rapid healing it was underoing, Reida barely kept her composure as she struggled to stand up yet again. She really shouldn't have been pushing herself like this, it wasn't smart, but she had no other options.

"Who said I could? Sure's hell wasn't me. I just said I would. Whether'r not I can, I'll sure's hell try."

Of course she would. The fire burning in Reida's gaze was enough to make it abundantly clear how much hate was simmering beneath the surface, and how readily she would try to kill whatever creature she was facing.

"What splendid attitude you have."

She sneered, tearing off the camo jacket which was hanging on her arms to throw it at Reida in a display of sickly green flames. There was no point dragging this out, she'd give her one good shot and evaluate the fruits of this labour from it. She took up a stance that wasn't one of her current body's experience and aimed the knife at her opponent.

"Make this one count then, or I'll eviscerate you right here."

Damn it. If this had been Brae, Reida wouldn't have had any trouble with this, but Reida had no choice but to acknowledge whoever this was instead. Breathing heavily, studying her opponent very carefully, she knew she'd have to make this attack more decisive. Probably need to break something. But what?

With one step forward, the earth under Reida's foot decayed as she instinctively drew energy out of it. A lock of her hair turned a stark white, her eyes glowing a pale yellow, as she moved far more quickly toward "Braelynn," and her hands shot toward her opponent's arm again. This time, however, she wasn't trying to just remove the knife, and she wasn't being gentle. If her hands made purchase, she'd snap the wrist like little more than a twig.

It was the kind of thing she'd regret, when the heat of the moment had passed, but right now it was mere instinct, a life or death situation.

Too fast for this body to match. It was like watching everything happen in slow motion but being unable to intercept the woman's hold on the wrist twisted her out of the human's body to acrobatically cartwheel a few metres away. Safira mused that her hollow factor seemed quite high compared to the others, she wondered why that was, her regeneration was noticeable--she had twisted her out of the body--it made her excited to see what she could become.

"You've got a lot of potential, yet you're so savage compared to the others to be aligned to the hollow aspects of your heritage over the human part. You'll grow into a fine specimen."

She praised with a clap. It made her delighted to know that the fruit she planted could become so sweet yet still have so much more room to grow.

"You've satisfied my curiosity, Reida."

Reida hadn't expected to see success so soon, and it momentarily shook her from the animalistic tendencies she'd been moving toward, her arms tensing and her eyes screwing shut as she moved to stop Brae from hitting the ground unceremoniously. Her attention turned then to the Arrancar away from her, all the more hatred in her expression as she set Brae carefully down.

"I didn't ask none'a that. Don't care, neither. Now get the hell outta here."

Despite the gap between the two of them, it was obvious Reida was all too willing to continue fighting if it came to that. A savage fury coursed through all her veins, and she was only barely keeping herself from once again going on the offensive. A primal fear of being crushed by a stronger creature was all that kept her back.
