IMPOSSIBILITY
The arrancar sniffed at the air, standing high atop a dune. His zanpakuto clutched at his side, the chip in the blade casting faint shadow from the moonlight. Auerbach's face sat naked under it, staring skyward as his feet slid deeper into the sand. With a leap, he'd descend, landing without much fuss.
Standing at a crouch, he'd pause, waiting for any immediate reaction. Quiet too long. Something is going to happen.
Auerbach's paranoia would go unchecked as he continued to crouch, still for several minutes. Eventually, it stretched into hours, perhaps even days. Not that he could tell, the eternal night of Hueco Mundo disorienting, even when it was all that he knew.
Slowly, ever so slowly, he'd stand back to height, turning in a circle, staring out into the sands. As he turned, he came face to face with a woman, standing almost directly behind him. Like a housecat, the arrancar threw himself back, far further than he intended.

"Hm, jumpy aren't you?" An amused chuckle bubbled up from the feline's throat as she watched the strange fellow suddenly leaping away from her, a hand resting on her hip as the rather large woman eyed the odd one. It wasn't often you found an arrancar standing stock still for such a long time. She'd decided to walk up behind them, only to see that, apparently, they hadn't been paying attention to their surroundings.
"Is there any particular reason you're staring off into space?" She ventured. Her tone was calm and neutral, offering neither aggression nor mockery as she made a point to peer a bit at the stranger. Curious, if nothing else.
