[Spirit Class 5] Vicente 5sstQny

Psychological Analysis

Condescending and calm, but beyond anything else, Vicente primarily cares about power. The feeling of being strong, of superiority over others, has become a core part of his motivations and desires, a trait molded after his disgrace and humiliation during the time of the Espada and Aizen. Whatever it takes to gain power, no matter if it means helping others by proxy, destroying them, or whatever else ends up happening.

Death is something he is ultimately unbothered by, whether it be his own death or the death of others. To him, death is the greatest submission, showing that you were weak and never would amount to much, and he holds this standard to himself as well. Should he die, he simply was not strong enough, and it is his own fault for being weak, nothing more and nothing less.

To that end, he has a respect toward power, though also a bitterness and envy toward those stronger due to his own weakness that caused his rank to be taken and for him to be humiliated. In addition, small slights against him are considerably more personal, and despite his calm demeanor, he is very capable and willing to hold a grudge for as long as it takes.

As a result, he ends up wanting to destroy them to prove his own strength, if to no one but himself. He holds no care toward either end of morality, and seeks an ultimately selfish goal, ready to go into either side to achieve it.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

There is little Vicente remembers of his life as a human, only that he has a deep-seated, yet ultimately unknown hatred that became a primary aspect of the eventual amalgamated mass of souls that Hollows become. That hate drove him to eat mindlessly, something that would only partially numb the feeling. Years went by, and, had he never evolved, perhaps he would have become lost to hunger.

However, the storm eventually cleared, and that hatred was the first to worm its way to the forefront once more. Yet, even as an Adjuchas, that feeling would never fade. That vengefulness only drove him to keep eating. He hunted all who came into his life, friend or foe, he would eat them all.

He betrayed and backstabbed whoever he deemed too weak or lacking in potential, and he knew of the consequences. This betrayal painted a target on his back, but it mattered little. They were weak, and it was easy to crush them and make them a part of his evolution. But, that is not to say the attempts were useless. They served to further his evolution, honing his senses and awareness, allowing him to counter and thwart their attempts to target him.

Yet, the more that he grew, the weaker everyone else became, and thus, the more Hollows he betrayed and consumed. There were some that had the potential he sought, and some managed to consume alongside him and continue growing their strength. Perhaps it was out of respect for his strength, or maybe it was fear. He didn’t know, nor did he care to find out. As long as they continued to grow, evolve, and did not grow complacent, they could stand with him.

There were times when he was still humiliated in the face of the stronger, and that humiliation only drove him to eat more, to garner strength, only to eventually eat what humiliated him. It always gave him brief feelings of emptiness after, yet that emptiness only continued to drive him.

A never-ending cycle of rage, eat, and emptiness, one that continued for centuries.

He began trying new ways to hunt, to kill. He stalked from the shadows, created a nest, trapping lesser beings in his web. He tried to savor the hunt, to let that spite fester and burn until he finally went for the killing bite. He continued to experiment another hundred years, but one day, he extended too far. Eventually, he was defeated and humiliated at the hands of an Arrancar.

The difference in strength was otherworldly, and it was infuriating. He knew that, with all this time spent as a Hollow, there was little more development to be had. Spite and boredom had driven him to experiment, but in such a long time, there was little more he could develop as a Hollow beyond growing more general power. In meeting this Arrancar, he discovered there was more to learn and develop, more power to hold, to use so that he could get his revenge and destroy that which had humiliated him.

Spite now drove him to evolve.

Clawed legs dug against the divots between his mask and presumably a face underneath. He pulled with furious determination. The struggle drove him to pull harder, the crunching and cracking of bone both worrying and exhilarating. Eventually, the mask finally gave way, and his life as an Adjuchas came to an end.

Becoming an Arrancar came with its benefits and downsides, the biggest of which being that he essentially had to start over, even so much as remembering how to walk with two legs again. Yet, he dedicated himself to it wholly, using his spite as motivation. While his powers were retained, learning to utilize them in this new body and manner was a challenge, one that he was quick to overcome.

Shinigami wandered into Hueco Mundo, and he used them as practice and training, along with dozens of other Hollows. With each fight, he analyzed his opponent’s strength as well as his own weaknesses, taking a piece of their style as his own, as well as a prize, usually their shihakusho or Zanpakuto, as well as their head. They were weak, but they were ultimately instrumental in his evolution.

He continued to develop and evolve, until he was eventually scouted by Sosuke Aizen for the Espada. The idea of being ruled by a Shinigami was not a welcome thought, but with the overwhelming power he exuded, there was little room for choice. He tried to keep a focus on the positives, that it was another attempt to study and learn. He spent time studying, fighting, and learning from others like him.

However, it was not to last -- as it was not too long after that Aizen had attained the Hogyoku, beginning to artificially create Arrancar for his army, and the naturally created Arrancar were rendered obsolete. Stripped of his rank, reduced to a Privaron Espada, and deemed no longer useful, Vicente’s rage boiled over. He sought to contest the decision, but the Arrancar that took his place defeated him without struggle.

Such a humiliating and overwhelming defeat caused his spite to burn even more than it had before. He tore the flesh that held his former number off, cauterized it, and deserted Las Noches, this new Espada, and the new, brief identity of Ciento Ocho as a Privaron. He returned to the cave that he called home, and swore to garner strength and destroy not just the one who replaced him, but Aizen as well.

He would stand at the apex. As more Shinigami wandered into Hueco Mundo and other Hollows wandered into his territory, he continued to study, learn, and improve. His swordsmanship, his skills as an Arrancar, the powers he had before, he sought to weaponize everything he had at his fingertips. Vicente trained and refined himself ceaselessly to work toward this goal, though it would ultimately never come to fruition. Defeat came from another person entirely, and Vicente was enraged, but ultimately, was lost.

He resolved to seek out other Arrancar to test his strength, to continue growing in power, to reach the pinnacle so that he would never be humiliated like he had been. He sparred with various other Arrancar that he met, meeting some in a makeshift arena, continuing to evolve and grow. But, now, it was time to traverse into the Living World, to find others with potential so that he may use them for his own development, to see them develop, or cut them down when that potential dies.

POWERS AND SKILLS

○ Analyst: His cunning and experimental nature in his years as a Hollow never ceased developing, even as an Arrancar. As Shinigami and Hollow alike wandered into his nest, he used the opportunity to study them, their ways, especially the Shinigami’s swordsmanship. It culminates into a somewhat passive style of combat, studying his opponent to learn what they can do, how to exploit it, or even how and what to take for himself to continue his own evolution before finally attacking without remorse. Inside combat or outside, everything is a learning opportunity to some capacity.

○ Skilled Swordsman: Despite having no formal training in the art, talent in the way of the sword came naturally to him. He was able to study and learn from Shinigami that wandered into Hueco Mundo, as well as hundreds of other Hollows and Arrancar, honing his own skill with a sword. He has learned various styles that other Shinigami and Arrancar have used, mastering them with ease. Along with this, Vicente carried this studying into all of his battles thereafter, analyzing varying sword styles to understand how they operate.
Kyokidō [虚鬼道, Way of the Empty Demon]: Vicente’s own sword style, its name derived from the Shinigami’s spellcasting arts. It consists of quick, simple, yet powerful swings mainly intended to end fights quickly, often using one hand to fight. The stance consists of being upright, the sword in one hand and the sheath in another, attacking with one and defending with the other.

Outside of this, the footwork keeps the user mobile, yet also can firmly root them in place when needed. When attacking, the user often forgoes direct defense due to a faith in their own natural abilities, using the sheath as an occasional defense against attacks from their blind spots or taking an opponent off-guard. Ultimately, it is a style of both passive and active combat, able to defend while keeping distance and studying, as well as overpowering.

○ Hierro: Arguably the greatest skill Vicente possesses, and one that he honed to perfection. Capable of hardening his skin near-instantly when needed, it is one that he spent extensive amounts of time experimenting with and taking to the limits. Notably, his Hierro makes a spider web design when impact, a purely aesthetic change of Vicente’s choice.
Gran Rey Hierro: Taken from the same theory as the Gran Rey Cero, by smearing blood onto his skin, Vicente can cause his Hierro to have a tremendous boost in defensive potency for a single post, and cannot be used repeatedly, going on cooldown for two posts and gradually degrading the efficiency of his natural Hierro with each use. This causes what would normally be invisible to become visible, turning his Hierro and skin scarlet red.

Rechazando Hierro [“Repulsing Steel Skin”]: By modifying the energy in his skin to become reactionary, Vicente is able to generate a repulsive blast of energy whenever an attack makes contact with his Hierro. A unique trait to this is that the Hierro absorbs a small portion of energy, roughly five percent, from energy attacks to augment the resulting repulsion, going on a two post cooldown after. The attack still damages him, but it is ultimately a small drain so as to create a bigger retaliation, something akin to a powder keg effect.

Maligno Hierro [“Malignant Steel Skin”]: By applying his powers to his Hierro, Vicente can cause his skin to turn a sickly green and take on acidic properties, scaling off the limitations and capabilities outlined in Spider God’s Malignant Heart. This acidic armor can melt through most conventional weapons as if it were nothing, and can easily burn skin in an attempt to dissuade hand-to-hand fighters from rushing him. This variation has a two post limit and cooldown.

Metralla Hierro [“Steel Skin Shrapnel”]: This Hierro type turns the defensive option into a surprise weapon. By manipulating the Reiryoku to create a violent reaction, causing it to explode into a flurry of shrapnel from his body. This costs quite a lot of energy to expunge his Hierro in a quick, last ditch maneuver, and also prevents him from reactivating his Hierro for a post afterward.

Metralla Maligno Hierro [“Malignant Shrapnel Steel Skin”]: A modification of Hierro and the shrapnel variant that combines the two, causing the shrapnel to take on the acidic properties of the Maligno Hierro. It is considerably weaker since it spreads out across a wide area in tiny fragments, but can still be capable of decent damage as a result, should someone be close, or if the acid manages to eat through some physical object to cause structural damage. Similarly to the prior variant, this deactivates his Hierro upon use and prevents him from reactivating it for another post.

Hierro Threads: A variation of his original power as a Hollow, made even stronger through his ascension to an Arrancar. With this, Vicente is able to use his Hierro in a variety of ways, utilizing them as garotte wires, bindings, or potentially even physical obstructions if they’re put in close proximity.

Vicente can also channel his other abilities through these threads, such as Pesquisa to sense whenever someone touches them, or using a Cero to give it pseudo-homing properties. However, upon learning Gran Rey Cero, Vicente learned to apply this to his other abilities, particularly his Hierro threads, learning to infuse blood into his threads to increase their strength and durability.

Clothes: One of the most common usages of this ability, creating clothes out of his Hierro threads to serve as a mixture of coverings as well as armor. This involves a long process of intricate manipulating and wrapping of Hierro threads into clothes, acting as a second layer of armor, the most common case of this being the kimono and hakama he wears. Repairs or reconstruction takes place after a thread is over, and cannot be done on the fly.

○ Cero: A skill that Vicente has taken to honing and refining tremendously across his time as Hollow and Arrancar. He utilizes Cero for a variety of different situations, modifying the technique to suit whatever need may arise, priding himself on both capable offense and a honed defense. Basic Ceros he fires are a deep purple in color, but he has taken to modifying the color in some instances.
Cero Enemistad [“Enmity Hollow Flash”]: A Cero, black in color, and often mistaken for a Cero Oscuras visually. Vicente has modified the conventional Cero to add a few unique characteristics toward it, allowing it to disperse into a thick, cold and black mist that scrambles the visual and spiritual senses by saturating the air with Reiryoku particles for a post. Furthermore, this cold feeling extends to the Cero itself, should Vicente choose not to disperse it, however, it is not strong enough to affect skills, merely an aesthetic flare to the attack.

Hierro Cero [“Steel Skin Hollow Flash”]: Silver in color, this Cero is one that Vicente uses for the sheer brute force behind it. Rather than a wide-scale destructive ability, this compresses the power of a Cero and refines the particles of energy, hardening them like Hierro, and utilizing it as a long-range battering ram that focuses on physical force, such as shattering bones or just pushing someone away.

Cero Labarinto [“Hollow Flash Labyrinth”]: Through the conjunction of Ceros and his Hierro threads, Vicente can fire Ceros outward from the threads, creating a “maze” of energy blasts intended to attack from several, if not all sides at once, as well as make it difficult to avoid and find openings for, though it is not impossible. In conjunction with his Hierro threads, Vicente can also cause the Ceros to reflect and bounce from them, creating an even larger and more difficult to dodge threat. However, to utilize this variant to its maximum effectiveness, Vicente requires around two to three posts of setting up the threads to create more complexity in the threads.

Cero Pionero [“Trailblazing Hollow Flash”]: By utilizing his threads, Vicente can channel a Cero along it, creating a pseudo-homing effect. It allows for greater control over his Cero and can be used in conjunction with his other abilities to create even more deadly results. This can also hide the threads themselves, masking the intent of the ability and allowing for Vicente to keep an opponent guessing or force their focus into thinking and pondering while he attacks.

Cero Ocho-Patas [“Eight-Legged Hollow Flash”]: A modification to the conventional Cero made after firing, Vicente can choose at any point for the Cero to split apart into eight connected beams in the shape of spider legs. These beams can either all converge on a single target or spread across a wide area and hit multiple targets, each having about an eighth of the original beam’s power.

Cero Maligno [“Malignant Hollow Flash”]: By infusing aspects of his Hollow powers into his Cero, he can alter the properties of his Cero to takes the form of something more akin to a viscous liquid, splashing against targets and enacting the effects of Spider God’s Malignant Heart, though the scaling with his Nuclei is instead replaced with his Cero skill, thus having the potential to have less effect than it would normally. This is augmented in his Resurreccion, allowing the Cero to have further potential effects, though still remains in scaling with his Cero, rather than Nucleo.

ZANPAKUTO

○ Zanpakutô Name: Tocotl

○ Zanpakutô Appearance: Vicente’s Zanpakuto takes the form of a katana with a white, bone-like handle and equally pale scabbard. The sheath has bumpy protrusions along it, akin to veins or tendrils. The blade, sheath, and handle all have hundreds of designs strewn across it that take a similar appearance to his eyes.

○ Zanpakutô Sealed Power:

○ El Corazón Maligno del Dios Araña [“Spider God’s Malignant Heart”]: The condensed essence of his spite and his first original Hollow power. This ability allows Vicente to generate venom from his body, incorporating it in various utilities, though in his base form, it is considerably limited. The primary usage of this ability in his base form is to corrode and weather away defenses, either physical or spiritual, both which scale against his Nucleo skill. Should it come into contact with the skin, the character’s Durability would check against his Nucleo to judge the effects. Overall, the ability's skill check is based in the context of the thread itself.

○ Detención Palmeada del Dios Araña [“Spider God’s Webbed Detainment”]: Vicente’s second Hollow power, the ability to make threads from his energy to use as restraining tools or manipulate them freely for a variety of purposes. The threads themselves, however, have a limit, extending to around fifty feet. Considerably durable, Vicente can use them to grab things or people from a distance, imbuing energy in them to make them sharp as blades, or channeling his base abilities through them like his Hierro threads, such as Cero or Pesquisa.

○ La Oración del Dios Araña [“Spider God’s Prayer”]: While his Zanpakuto is in its sealed state, Vicente is capable of manifesting two more arms, creating another pair for a variety of uses. Whether to catch opponents off-guard, to create more avenues of attack, or to utilize multiple weapons.

RESURRECCION

○ Release Phrase: “Crawl with enmity, Tocotl.”

○ Appearance: Upon activating his Resurreccion, Vicente grows three more sets of arms and the lower half of his body turns into a large, arachnid body. His fingers sharpen into long claws with the appearance of spider legs, and thousands more eyes manifest from all around his skull, all in uncomfortably close proximity to one another, and giving him a wider range of vision.

○ Abilities: Beyond the typical general boost to his capabilities and the shift in appearance, there are no additional unique abilities or techniques that Vicente can utilize through his Resurreccion.

EQUIPMENT/RESOURCES

○ Trophies: Vicente has a vast collection of Zanpakuto, shihakusho, severed heads, all taken from Shinigami that he has fought that wandered into Hueco Mundo. He keeps the Zanpakuto on his person for use with his base powers and Resurreccion, while keeping the rest as prizes hidden away in his cave within Hueco Mundo. He cannot utilize their Zanpakuto or the spirits as Shinigami can, they are merely weapons, tools for him to dominate and reach further evolution.

[Spirit Class 5] Vicente Empty Re: [Spirit Class 5] Vicente

Hey Henrex!

Gran Rey Hierro: Taken from the same theory as the Gran Rey Cero, by smearing blood onto his skin, Vicente can cause his Hierro to have a tremendous boost in defensive potency for a single post, and cannot be used repeatedly. This causes what would normally be invisible to become visible, turning his Hierro and skin scarlet red. | Is this him imbuing his Hierro with a Gran Rey Cero? If so a definitive cooldown is needed alongside a caveat of maybe a weakening of his Hierro with consecutive uses or self inflicted damage in exchange for such a potent response. The Gran Rey Hierro mentions a defensive boost but does not quantify this boost at all, by how much (timesx) is this buffing the character's defenses?

Rechazando Hierro [“Repulsing Steel Skin”]: By modifying the energy in his skin to become reactionary, Vicente is able to generate a repulsive blast of energy whenever someone makes contact with his Hierro. A unique trait to this is that the Hierro absorbs a small portion of energy, roughly five percent, from spiritual attacks/energy attack to augment the repulsion. The attack still damages him, but it is ultimately a small drain so as to create a bigger retaliation. | A cooldown is required for this! This attack should specify it creates an explosion from attacks, the earlier part implies any form of contact results in this reaction. How are the attacks augmenting the explosion, could you provide an example?

Maligno Hierro [“Malignant Steel Skin”]: By applying his powers to his Hierro, Vicente can cause his skin to turn a sickly green and take on acidic properties, scaling off the limitations and capabilities outlined in Spider God’s Malignant Heart. This acidic armor can melt through most conventional weapons as if it were nothing, and can easily burn skin in an attempt to dissuade hand-to-hand fighters from rushing him. | Additional cooldown is necessary to assure there isn’t a forever acidic Hierro or a form of negative, I.E Due to the malleable nature of Acid his Hierro is weaker from spiritual attacks. What is defined as a conventional weapon?

Metralla Maligno Hierro [“Malignant Shrapnel Steel Skin”]: A modification of Hierro and the shrapnel variant that combines the two, causing the shrapnel to take on the acidic properties of the Maligno Hierro. It is considerably weaker since it spreads out across a wide area in tiny fragments, but can still be capable of decent damage as a result, should someone be close, or if the acid manages to eat through some physical object to cause structural damage. | Due to the way Hierro acts, an addition that an area of his Hierror is removed entirely and requires to recharge.

Cero Enemistad [“Enmity Hollow Flash”]: A Cero, black in color, and often mistaken for a Cero Oscuras visually. Vicente has modified the conventional Cero to add a few unique characteristics toward it, allowing it to disperse into a thick, cold and black mist that scrambles the visual and spiritual senses by saturating the air with Reiryoku particles. Furthermore, this cold feeling extends to the Cero itself, should Vicente choose not to disperse it, offering a small attack on the psyche alongside raw damage. | How long does it saturate the air? Reference that those of equivocal Focus or Deduction comparative to your Cero could be leff affected or not affected.

| Place a set up time for this. Attacks on all sides can be difficult to dodge and bordering unfair. I.E Takes a post to set up a bit of it, two to set up most of it and three to do a full entrapment.

ZAN/RESS

○ El Corazón Maligno del Dios Araña [“Spider God’s Malignant Heart”]: The condensed essence of his spite and his first original Hollow power. This ability allows Vicente to generate venom from his body, incorporating it in various utilities, though in his base form, it is considerably limited. The primary usage of this ability in his base form is to corrode and weather away defenses, either physical or spiritual, both which scale against his Nucleo skill and Spirit Class. Should it come into contact with the skin, the character’s Durability would check against his Nucleo skill to judge the effects. | Remove Spirit Class. SC doesn’t necessary scale to a characters strength only their influence on the surrounding area.

○ Detención Palmeada del Dios Araña [“Spider God’s Webbed Detainment”]: Vicente’s second Hollow power, the ability to make threads from his energy to use as restraining tools or manipulate them freely for a variety of purposes. Considerably durable, Vicente can use them to grab things or people from a distance, imbuing energy in them to make them sharp as blades, or channeling his base abilities through them like his Hierro threads, such as Cero or Pesquisa. | What is the reach of these Threads? Are they attached to Vicente and can’t be easily removed by either side or just a quick movement?

○ La Oración del Dios Araña [“Spider God’s Prayer”]: While his Zanpakuto is in its sealed state, Vicente is capable of manifesting two more arms, creating another pair for a variety of uses. Whether to catch opponents off-guard, to create more avenues of attack, or to utilize multiple weapons. | N/A

Outside of the general augmentation to his overall capabilities, Vicente’s Resurreccion also unleashes the full power of one of his original Hollow powers, Spider God’s Malignant Heart. In doing this, it allows for another trait to be added to it based on his original usage for it as a Hollow, that being slowing and eventually immobilizing targets. The capabilities and effectiveness of which scale from the target’s Durability and his Nucleo stat. This function only requires skin-level contact with the venom itself.

Should the target’s Durability be at least one rank below his Nucleo, their general speed would decrease by 50% over the course of the next three posts, with an extra 25% effectiveness for each rank below, and the inverse scaling for those above his Nucleo skill. Should the target match his scaling, it would take longer for the effect to take place, going from three posts to four.

Furthermore, his Resurreccion allows for the damaging effect in base to expand and enter the bloodstream so as to damage and slow the energy flow within a body. Once again scaling off the target’s Durability checking against his Nucleo.

Should the target be one level below his Nucleo, the venom would cause a 50% penalty to all energy ability efficiency until the end of the thread. The effect is halved should the target match his Nucleo skill. For every additional rank below, there is an increased 25% penalty. Similarly to the aforementioned effect, this scales inversely to those above his skill. | First of all: Add a cooldown for how many times an individual can be effected by this slowdown effect. Add an individual with the right skills could purge it, I.E a Kaido equivalent to the Nucleo stat or reduce its effects. The energy efficiency decrease is good but add a way an individual can counter it beyond one stat mechanic. Healing techs, maybe a high enough regenar can reduce its effects ect. What about those with a higher stat?

Overall it's an excellent App! I think though toning down either his Hierro or Cero based abilities or otherwise making it very obvious what is his Hollow power in general. The webs seem very core to his character, scaling down the acidic elements, some techniques to create a bit more comparative to more Cero.

Gran Rey Hierro

Explicit cooldown and further drawbacks added.

Rechazando Hierro

Elaborated on and clarified that attacks create the shockwave, as well as added a cooldown.

Maligno Hierro

Added a limit and post cooldown. (two post limit and cooldown)

Metralla Maligno Hierro

Added a similar cooldown and recharge period to Rechazando Hierro.

Cero Enemistad

Elaborated on the "cold" effect and added a timer to the mist's presence.

Cero Labarinto

Added setup time.

Spider God's Malignant Heart (Sealed)

Removed Spirit Class, ability now checks based on the context of the thread: e.g, Vicente's Nucleo skill vs opposing skill in question.

Spider God's Webbed Detainment

Added a range limit.

Spider God's Malignant Heart (Resurreccion)

Added a counter, Kido users one level below his Nucleo skill can reduce the effects by half.

Further elaborated on a note from earlier in the power that I forgot to expand on, requires skin contact to achieve full effectiveness, should someone have Hierro or Blut active, the effectiveness of the power would be halved. Regenerar users equal to his skill in Nucleo can also reduce its effectiveness by half.

Resurreccion

EDIT: After a length discussion with staff, I've decided to nix the overly complicated expansion to Malignant Heart, leaving it mainly to the general boost to his capabilities that makes him more dangerous.
