Those Who Dwell in Shadows [Yuuto, Shaoling]

When it came to who knew about his new nature as a Vizard, he took pause. He was trying to keep it as big of a secret as he could at the moment, given both the situation of the hospital and his Hollow. But, already he knew that the Sixth Division, in all likelihood, knew the entire story.

"Currently, only two of my close confidants, the Head Captain, the Third Division Captain, and the Sixth Division's Captain. Though, at this point, I'm almost certain the entire Sixth Division is aware of it, for the sake of transparency regarding my status and traversal between realms, as well as the investigation itself."

Admittedly, part of him was loathe to talk about it not just out of fear from the danger the Hollow presented, but because of the risk of suspicion. It took little to incite rumors, and less still, a mob. Until he managed to get this thing under a finer sense of control, rather than suppression out of sheer will, it was information that was kept on a need-to-know basis.

"I haven't dismissed that possibility, but, something feels...wrong. I can't explain it, but that idea just doesn't sit right with me."

Perhaps he was overthinking, but, that question had continued to pester him. Why would someone want such a spotlight placed on this situation? Why would it be such a loud method? A more covert option has a myriad of benefits, comparatively.

It gave more time before being discovered, made less noise and chaos, created an even larger potential mystery behind it. With him being part of the crosshairs, he had his doubts that the one responsible had just been that sloppy.

"Regardless, those are my thoughts. More speculation than anything concrete, but, it's something to keep in mind at least."

"That's reasonable. Realm Enforcement should know about things like that anyway. As for the Third Division captain, he would have heard about it one way or another, so that was inevitable."

Shaoling was thinking about this clinically, removed from any personal attachment to this threat. Of course, she did have some degree of genuine concern, otherwise she wouldn't have bothered to help in the first place. After all, there wasn't any sense of duty compelling her.

"They wouldn't have targeted the hospital without knowing you were there. It's likely they wanted you caught in the explosion. But bear in mind they also could have simply had no other option but to follow through on previously-made plans, and you were simply there at the time."

Not that she necessarily thought that was the case, either, but she kept all possibilities open for now. Without any proper investigation, nothing she thought or said on the matter was worth much of anything.

From what he knew about Urahara, it certainly would have only been a matter of time until he found out. In addition, he was the one who ultimately helped him get the Hollow under control, albeit in his own roundabout ways. He knew that keeping it from the Sixth Division would only cause problems in both the short and long term, so there was no real purpose keeping it a second from them.

"That's entirely possible too."

Perhaps it was just arrogant of him to so quickly assume that the situation was purposefully involving him. It was important to take into consideration all possibilities, especially with how little information they held. He needed to wait, to take time for once, and not try to blitz through it all. Everything that had been happening recently seemed to be pushing him toward that, after all.

"But, we'll know soon enough once we get deeper into the investigation. We can't really do much more beyond speculating. Frankly, right now, that's a waste of time."
