Re: Crashing Waves and the Burning Abyss [Kanae, Tier]

Tier Harribel | The Shark of Hueco
No one stepped out of the Garganta that opened, the Arrancar's hopes for naught. Whatever entity he stirred seemed uninterested in the happenings on Earth. Winds blew in the open space between the two individuals, an eerie silence befalling the battlefield. It'd seem that the estranged woman would have her way with the injured Arrancar, but the sudden sound of static interrupted any further proceedings. The Arrancar before her was gone, not a trace of his existence left until she'd feel him a few more meters away from her. Then, she'd feel the other, something stronger than she probably expected.
Her cape fluttered behind her in the dry wind, its blue and white fabric hiding her dark skin before she rose, emerald eyes focused on the injured Arrancar. The poor man whispered her name before his consciousness left him, but she gave no acknowledgement. Tier's not an emotional woman, but as the blonde Arrancar rose and turned her attention to the Captain across from her, those green fields shared nothing but contempt.
"It seems, even as times change, some entities refuse to adapt," Tier spoke, everything but her eyes betraying her emotional state, but even those two orbs began to lose their spiteful sheen as her emotions dulled and her mind focused. Her outfit spoke royalty, but she's sure the Captain across from her sees only a disease to purge. The man behind her had bothered no one, but she had warned him that there would be people who hate him simply for existing. He didn't listen, but even the ones who've fell by the wayside shouldn't be left to rot, and for that reason, she's here to save him.
Interesting still, a Captain. The Gotei do not normally send these sorts far. What intel did they have that they'd send this woman? It doesn't matter. If she must, she'll make her mind known to their Captain Commander. Times have changed, but she doubts they've reverted to their barbaric ways after that fiery old man had died. Savagery befitting the Hollow they hunt.

"Hollow have talked before you were ever thought of, but I suppose I shouldn't expect much from someone who reeks of desperation. The Gotei's leash must have gotten too tight."
A fight isn't what she wants. She'd rather return home, but Tier doubts this woman wants her to leave. There's an uncanny sensation from her, almost as putrid as Nnoitra's. For now, Tier'll distract the woman so that the other Hollow in the area can evacuate. Despite their efforts of finding a calm place on Earth to make their own, it seems they'll never be accepted. Maybe a complaint with the Gotei is in order, but Tier's not an avid advocator of making Earth anything but a temporary visit. The things she do for those who ask for her hospitality.
Whatever. Her hand idly sat atop the pommel of her Zanpakuto, eyes disinterested with these theatrics. She's not keen on making the first move. Only going as far as necessary, Tier isn't one to stoop to someone else's level, especially when that levels barely above the dirt beneath her feet.

In a flash, her Zanpakuto unsheathed itself, her arm swinging to catch her assailant's attack. Clearly not in the mood, Tier didn't try to push back, but Kanae also wouldn't find any advantage in their little clash. Instead, Tier focused her gaze on Kanae.
"Attacking unprovoked?" Tier questioned, but she understood that someone like this wouldn't listen to any reason. Desperation for blood and violence rolled off this woman in waves, suffocating the Arrancar.
After her last interaction with the Gotei, Tier expected a less violent response to her appearance, but she's also never seen this woman before. Maybe she's an outlier, but if the Gotei's become this gung-ho about attacking Hollow despite the way the species have become to habitat Earth, then so be. It wouldn't be fair to lump the rest with this obviously bloodthirsty individual, but if this is who they're making Captains, Tier's trust in the Gotei's taken a blow.
"Let me take my men and leave peacefully before this landscape you protect is damaged."

Tier had no response for Kanae at the woman's first insult. In battle, needless words did nothing but distract. Kanae will not get a rise out of Tier that easily, but it would be impossible to not make a move. Charged at, Tier began pacing backwards, using her momentum to move her blade in tandem with Kanae's to ward off the woman's attacks.
As the landscape began to sizzle, Tier became privy to the acid that leaked from Kanae's Zanpakuto. Already, a few drops had spilled on her, burning through her clothing. Her skin proved difficult to simply corrode, but Tier understood the need to create distance between the two. Besides, the man she came to save is too close for this situation.
With a sigh, the hollow space of her Zanpakuto began sparked with energy, a yellowish glow filling it. Moments later, the rest of Tier's blade glowed the same color, and with the force of her energy-fueled attack, she swung her blade upwards, releasing a burst of energy similar to a bala from her weapon towards Kanae to force the woman to retreat from her position. However, she then swung her blade rapidly, releasing wave after wave of crescent-like bursts of energy at Kanae, hoping to keep as much space as possible for now.

Her Hierro proved a suitable defense the the lame acid running down her skin. Her clothing lost its grip on her body as her skin sizzled, but the acid soon slid to the ground. Letting this woman make contact for too long would be troublesome. Her speed is enough to slip through her attacks, but it's not going to be that easy to simply strike at her.
Again, Tier brought her Zanpakuto to match her assailant's, the force of their collision cracking the Earth beneath the Arrancar's feet. Then, Tier used Kanae's momentum as she spun from her spot, letting the Shinigami's power drag her the rest of the way down to the ground. At the same time, her arm swung, her palm open as energy gathered between her fingers. However, her palm turns upward before a Cero is fired directly into the sky, its giant circumference forcing Kanae to either retreat or be burned from their close proximity.
