Echoes of the Damned [Lilynette, Ignacio] Empty Echoes of the Damned [Lilynette, Ignacio]

Echoes of the Damned [Lilynette, Ignacio] HEADA_Lilynette_06

It'd been a while since she'd checked on Ignacio. It almost felt like it'd been too long.

Naturally ever since she'd been a part of a rather massive attack on a major country, Lilynette had to lie low. Using her wolves to really live a bit vicariously. Keeping her ears to the ground, and sticking to her house out in europe. With...well....less contact with humans than she'd had in the past. She still kept hunt in her usual areas, made sure that hollows were culled. But well. It all felt so damn ...quiet.

And so she'd decided to check in on Ignacio. She had kept a few wolves near Ichigo and the Princessa. But it honestly felt like nothing had happened. So she figured if anyone had news one way or the other . It'd be Ignacio. Their local Ring of the dead Expert. And if not well. Hopefully she'd get to have a little fun messing with him. And ....well.... maybe also talk to him about a few things.

So she'd called him down to earth. A nice, remote little area abandoned in Europe. Her wolves had made sure that she wanted his attention, from where she stood, the ruins of a deserted city stood sentinel on the horizon.

All that awaited was for him to show up.

There was a familiar distortion as Lilynette's summons was answered, a Garganta appearing in the air before her. It tore open with a splitting cry to reveal a single figure, garbed in robes of black and white. Ignacio was easily recognisable, given even a loose familiarity with him, that he need not even loosen the string on his energy to let her know that he was here. He stepped forward, dropping down the small distance from the portal to the ground below, and the grass beneath his feet seemed to immediately wither from the heat that came with him. Each step scorched the soil and left a neat trail of blackened footprints in his wake.

"It is good to see you, Lilynette."

There did seem to be a genuine level of care to his greeting. A rare familiarity that perhaps suggested that they had built up a little rapport, and was certainly an uptick from their first meeting all that time ago. His hand did not linger upon his weapon, for starters, and he did wear a polite smile on his face. Not anything as excessive as a toothy grin, but enough to show he was willing to make at least an effort to be sociable.

"Is there business to be handled?"

Lilynette snorted softly at that and let out a little sigh. Pleased to see him in such high spirits, but raising a brow when she noticed the ground withering at his feet. She really needed to give him some reiryoku training sometime. Tch, thoughts for another time she supposed. "Hey there bucko. Long time no see. Just wanted to check up on you honestly." She noted with a little sigh, shrugging her shoulders as she let her head tilt from left to tight, cracking her neck before looking around.

"Dn't suppose you've seen head or tales of Ichigo ever since he got his girlfriend?" She murmured, resting a hand on her hip before giving Ignacio a bit of a weary glance. Certainly it seemed that most everything had come to a halt since that little development. Well, of course she and Ignacio were still taking up the hunt. But well. The effect of the woman's presence on Kurosaki was noticeable. He seemed different around the woman, and Lilynette couldn't help but feel some small amount of envious resentment.

"Though. That stuff aside. You been paying any attention to that whole Africa incident?" She ventured with a tilt of her head.

It was not that Ignacio lacked in control or finesse, but rather that he cared little for the thoughts of the grass as it burned beneath his feet. Perhaps that was why he had spent almost all of his time living out in the deepest depths of the desert of Hueco Mundo, rather than finding a nice little cottage to settle down in here on Earth. Though perhaps it was a lack of training that made him so unrefined when it came to these situations.

"Ichigo Kurosaki must reevaluate his own motives for seeking the Rings. Once he has done so, I will determine whether the Powder Hunters continue in their current state."

Ignacio had promised to aid him for as long as Ichigo's motivations remained aligned with his own. That might well no longer be the case now that he had been reunited with the person that he thought once was dead but fate had returned to him. Regardless, Ignacio would continue the search alone if need be. For the good of all the realms, he would see this power sealed away for good. At the mention of Africa, though, his golden gaze turned to the horizon.

"As for Africa, it is an opportunity if we wish to take it. So many eyes have fallen upon it that our actions so far have almost fallen by the wayside. If we are to continue then it would be quite remiss to let this chance pass us by."

Lilynette snorted softly. "No he fucking isn't. Let's no pretend Kurosaki is out there scratching his head about his motivations. He's in a daze, but I doubt his motivation has any chance of changing. Regardless of how long he takes with his face in the sand, that kid only has one motivation that pushes him off the floor, and if he gets up again, I doubt it's going to be any different." She stated simply enough. If there was one thing she knew, it was stubborn arrancar, and Ichigo fit the bill these days.

All the same, when Ignacio moved on to talk about the Africa situation, she wrinkled her nose a little. "I was more asking if you sensed any ring juice down in there or not. Or has some other spot gotten your attention?" She ventured casually enough. Certainly it wasn't as if this were any kind of speedrun. She'd kept her wolves out and alert, ESPECIALLY now that she had a better idea of what these things smelled like. Her attention shifting to Ignacio's hand. where, presumably, two rings now nestled. Unless he'd taken a habit of shoving them in some secluded location for safekeeping.

"Aaanywho. Whatever. Ichigo is taking his time. In the meanwhile, cmon. I'm bored, so we're gonna go have some dinner." She stated simply enough, no real inquiry or request involved. He was going to go eat with her, and that was really that.

"His original motivation was to use the Rings to bring his woman back to life, yet it appears that she is still very much alive. The goal he once sought has already been achieved."

Ignacio's brow furrowed, wondering if perhaps there was something else that he did not know about. They were hardly thick as thieves, any of them, so he was hardly so foolish as to assume that he had a perfect understanding of their situation, but he had always thought Ichigo to be the type to speak his mind with little care for who heard. LLilynette was the chatty one, with a louder mouth than he would have liked but a good enough shot for him to get over it.

"As for the presence of another Ring in Africa, I would have to investigate the matter a little more intimately than could be managed subtly. It was not something I wished to do alone, given the activity by both the Gotei and the Vandenreich in the area. It would be troublesome to become caught in the crossfire."

The two rings indeed lingered on one hand, stored on metal fingers bereft of the flesh that they would so ravenously consume. It was a statement as much as it was practical. Most onlookers would not think twice about them, only those who knew what they are would be drawn in closer, and that was exactly what he wanted. Her last remark drew something of a snort from him, though. He was not the type to be invited for dinner by anyone, so perhaps it was the surprise.

"Dinner? Very well. I was not expecting such an offer. Are we dining on Earthen cuisine, or have you something else planned?"

Lilynette flashed a half smile and snorted. A little amused to say the least as she watched Ignacio's reaction. "The Princessa is what's always been on his mind. Just because she's alive doesn't change what it is he wants. He wants her back. Whatever the hell that means. You haven't had a chance to see her since she was swiped? In any case, if you have, you should know. She doesn't feel right. She's not herself, something's wrong with her. And he wants to fix whatever's the problem. What he wants is still ultimately the same." She stated simply enough. The mansimply couldn't go on without that woman, he wanted the Orihime he knew back, and this person wasn't her. Lily just wondered how it would wind up if he succeeded. What was he gonna do then?

She pushed the thought out of her mind and put on a sly smirk.

"Oh yea? Well I guess you better find someone to watch your back, now shouldn't you?" She chimed with a half smile, promptly ignoring any notion that he obviously would be heading ut with her. Ichigo probably didn't want to be out in the open. And well, aside from him, what was TIER gonna roll out? Not with the heat going on around Africa. The last thing that woman needed was Gotei attention on her.

All the same, she waved a hand dismissively as she began to lead the man toward civilization. "Earth Food, obviously. I'm not gonna have you choke down hollow guts or anything. We'll head to my place and order some pizza. Don't go thinking it's gonna be anything fancy. I just need to get my mind off all this ...shit." She sighed and closed her eyes. A number of her wolves popping up along the horizon, converging on the area as she led the man off toward her own dwelling. Intent on wrangling the man along if necessary. May as well get some food and rest. Goodness knew things were going to get rough again soon.

"If his motivations are unchanged then all the better. We have made more progress together than I have in centuries of searching, and it would be a shame to lose that avenue."

Ignacio had not spent any significant amount of time around this Princessa, only long enough to determine that she was not herself in possession of a ring, but Lilynette was certainly right about her significance. There was an energy that she carried with her that was like no other. Not Ichigo nor even himself. He did not want to admit that he was growing curious, as such an attachment was unseemly, but the questions did linger without answers making themselves apparent.

"Oh, you are too busy to join me on such a venture? I did not think that you were one to turn down a good time."

His delivery was rather flat, and typically Ignacio-esque, but there was a certain amusement to the man as a playful fire danced across those vibrant eyes. She was inviting him over for dinner, after all, so he was quite confident that she was simply pulling his chain. He had not intended to make such a trip unless it was asked of him, of course, but it did seem to be the implication that such a thing was coming. Either that or Kurosaki would take matters into his own hands and leave them to pick up the pieces.

"Pizza? I would have assumed this was a local delicacy, but your tone implies it is something else. Regardless, let us feast upon it."

A cursory glance passed over the gathered wolves, Ignacio much less perturbed by their presence than he had been in their first meeting, as he took off after her without much need for further wrangling.

Lilynette snorted softly at that and sighed, giving an idle wave of her hand as she allowed herself a moment to consider the man's playful comments. But she was much more interested in the here and the now. And so, when she noticed that curious look in his eye, an impish smile flashed across her features, a little snicker as she turned to face him completely.

"Oh it's a delicacy alright. But not really for locals. More for the kinda shut ins I interact with. It's actually got a pretty long human history. At least according to the internet. But what's important is that it's fucking awesome and delicious. Which is exactly why we're gonna get some." The arrancar's voice dipped up from it's usual lax gremlin tone to somethging a bit more down the nose and knowledgeable. Almost instructive! After all, she'd tolerated Ignacio being a nerd for far too long. Now it was time for him to become a degen like the rest of them. And so, she promptly began leading him toward her own home, already a plan hatching in her mind as she relished the notion of introducing him to good human food and entertainment.

"Say, hows your hand eye coordination?" She ventured with a slight tilt of her head. She might not be able to do something like video games. But perhaps something like air hockey might be a good start.

All the same, it wouldn't take long for them to arrive at her home. A number of her wolves perking up from various states of lounging around the house, Lazily, she tousled one of their heads as she passed and peeled off her jacket, tossing it onto the couch before gesturing to the couch.

"Make yourself at home." She encouraged as she slipped into the kitchen. She coouuuuuld have just ordered pizza. But hey. Why not get in a bit of practice while Iggy was here? IN the meantime, a number of the wolves would idly watch him, lazing about, a few of them even roughhousing off to the side. But otherwise being somewhat idle or making their way through the room or moving outside in little pairs.

Ignacio's brow furrowed at that convoluted description of this pizza, still trying to dissect exactly what the word meant and how it would taste because of it. He was not used to the idea of eating this human food, but he had seen bits and pieces before. A fleeting visit here and there but never staying around for long enough to feel any desire to consume such things.

"Is 'awesome' a suitable descriptor for food? What other awesome foods do humans possess?"

His curiosity was genuine, though he was quite well aware that he was opening himself up to being exploited by Lilynette. Such was the price for him spending so much of his life in one realm whilst ignoring the others. He could tell from that little spring in her step that he had opened a door that would be hard to shut again. Still, he found himself kneading the palms of her hands as she called his ability into question. Perhaps this was an element of the art of pizza eating.

"My coordination is rather precise, I would be a poor swordsman without it."

Lilynette's house was actually closer to what he had expected than he had imagined it would be, which was a pleasant surprise. The increasing number of wolves was equally surprising and a little less pleasant, but he understood these creatures well enough that their presence alone did not set him on edge as it once had. He focused enough to stop his feet from scorching the floor, a display of polite courtesy for the other's home, and let himself actually relax.

The idea of making himself at home was not one that came easily to Ignacio. He did not know exactly what that meant, it wasn't like he exactly had a home of his own beyond a base of operations that served a purpose rather than as a place to settle down in. What he did have was a great deal of respect for Lilynette for having all of this. He stood for a while, perplexed by the idea of the couch whilst also watching the wolves move around him, before finally settling down to perch awkwardly on the edge. Taking off his swordbelt, he laid the weapon across his knees and busied himself with a little maintenance.
