CAPTAIN NAGOSHI KANAE
Though it took longer than expected, eventually Kanae was able to discern the meaning behind the numbers Claudia had provided her. Evidently they were coordinates to the facility she wanted eliminated. Though Kanae would have enjoyed doing such a thing for free, having it be payment for the deal she had struck with the Duvalier woman was icing on the cake. Partial payment, at least.
The rest of Kanae's payment to Claudia was easy enough for a Captain. A Gokon Tekkō, gigai, and kikanshinki were all pretty stock standard devices used by Shinigami of the Gotei United, and so all she had to do was swipe an extra of each and bring them with her on a Hollow Hunt in the living world. Then, after dispatching a handful of fodder Hollows, she could make her way to the compound without hiccups. As expected, her plan went flawlessly.
With the required items tucked safely away nearby, Kanae approached the front of the designated facility. It was a large metal structure that almost assuredly stretched below ground, with an armed guard at the gate out front. In the medieval age, Kanae could slaughter everyone like a ghost. Now, annoyingly, most humans seem to have some level of spiritual sensitivity, making her approach known to the guard and anybody observing through the nearby camera system.
As Kanae calmly approached the facility's main entrance its guard raised his weapon threateningly and shouted a demand
"Hey, you there! Stop where you are! Don't move any--GURK" He was interrupted as Kanae suddenly appeared within an inch of him, her bloodied arm having pierced all the way through his chest with a sickening
SQUELCH. A final breath passed the guard's lips before she withdrew her now-crimson arm, allowing his body to collapse to the ground in a heap.
At this point Kanae noticed an extremely thick wall of steel drop down nearby, sealing off the front entrance. At the same time an alarm began ringing out, warning of her arrival to the whole facility.
"How cute." After moving to stand in front of the sealed entryway, Kanae coated her Zanpakuto with acid while in its holder before striking out with it multiple times, tearing through the metal like a hot knife through butter. Then she lifted her right foot and shoved against the section of barricade she had cut to ribbons, causing a person-sized hole to open when the metal fell away.
With the main barricade out of the way, Kanae sliced with her sword again, this time to split the regular entrance in two. She made her way into the facility, leaving behind a trail of acid which began eating away at the carefully waxed floors. A handful of guards stood in her way in the main atrium, all of whom she swiftly dispatched with brutal precision, turning them into piles of amputated limbs and split skulls. As she made her way deeper into the compound Kanae realized merely cutting these people into ribbons wasn't all that enjoyable.
Lets switch things up, shall we Tosatsusha? I thought you'd never ask, Kanae~!Kanae kept her Zanpakuto drawn as she shifted to dashing through the various hallways and stairwells, flicking it in the direction of fleeing humans causing droplets of acid to begin eating through their skin. Though it didn't take long for her victims to die, as she raced through the buildings her ears gleefully drank in the unholy choir of agonizing screams they released before the acid ate through their organs and brains. Tosatsusha especially delighted in the sadistic bedlam
Aaahhhh, Kanae! This is what we've been waiting for! A thousand years in darkness is nothing compared to this beautiful slaughter~!As she ripped through the building's population Kanae reveled in the glory of mass murder. It had been a thousand years since she last felt such feelings, and after being locked away for a millennium she found the screams of terror even more lovely. Before she knew it a woman's maniacal laughter rang out even above the screams, and seconds later Kanae realized it was her
own laughter in her ears.
Kanae continued on, eventually coming to what appeared to be an armory. As before, she sliced through its locked door and entered. The bulk of the armory had been emptied, leaving only a handful of firearms and explosives behind.
Perfect. Kanae grabbed a belt of grenades and took off again, this time in the direction of what was certainly the final holdout of humans in the complex.
Minutes passed and soon Kanae came upon a sealed vault of sorts. Another massive barricade stood in her way, though it lasted only as long as the first. Soon she was past it and standing in front of a few dozen scared scientists and employees, in front of which stood a line of armed security with guns raised. Evidently they had prepared for her arrival. A smile extended from ear to ear across the Captain's face as she thought about all the wonderful things she would do to these people.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Twenty or so minutes later, Kanae reemerged from the facility. Her entire body was dyed crimson as blood continued dripping from her Shihakushō, soaking the floor beneath her. Yet not a single wound blemished her skin. No more screams came from the facility's depths either, only the sounds of a raging fire spreading from where she had set off the grenades. Though she tried her best to stifle it, Kanae found herself giggling uncontrollably, a sweet sound standing in stark contrast to the slaughter and destruction she'd left in her wake. This continued even as she fetched the items for Claudia she had hidden nearby and returned to the now-sinking facility. Her acid had evidently worked as intended, melting hundreds of holes through the building and its supports. Entire floors were collapsed and soon enough even the surface level was little more than a collapsed hole with rubble strewn about.
"What a lovely day." MURDER QUEEN | END POST
