B A S I C I N F O R M A T I O N

Name: Ryuuichi Nakajima
Gender: Male
Age: 780, appears in his early/mid thirtys
Appearance: Ryuuichi is a rather small shinigami, standing at 5’9”, compensating for his size by a slender, but extremely good muscle build, weighing around 170 pounds at his lightest, mostly closer to 180 pounds in his regular days. The man has long, black hair that is always tied in a Chinese ponytail fashion, on the rear part of the top of his head, going up a few inches from that point, before falling down all the way to his shoulder blades. The shinigami has dark brown eyes, and has no other notable traits on his face. His past makes it so that he rarely smiles, and makes him always make him seem like he is frowning, and angered, although it just is his natural facial expression.

He trained specially for his physique not to get in the way of his speed. His legs and arms look fine, although it makes him look frail in comparison to someone who only works out for the muscle. He has pretty hard abs and good dorsal muscles too, and he doesn’t look like a physical monster despite that, people most likely doubting his strength when they see his body.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Personality: Ryuuichi is an arrogant, narcissisic and egoistical shinigami, usually getting despised by most people he meets due to his attitude, although he never fails to remind them of his worth when he succeeds in his tasks, and does better than his co-shinigamis. The shinigami had lived a life in which people had never given him the chance to prove himself, no matter the reason. This forced him to adopt an extremely singular attidude in life. Ryuuichi doesn’t value any comrade’s life in any way, no matter the reason. If he needs to let one hundred shinigami die for him to survive, he doesn’t even get close to considering saving even one of them, although the choice has never been imposed on him so far.

Outside his time as a shinigami, he usually is someone more enjoyable to be around, usually pretty calm, laying down somewhere when he is not training and working on his Hakuda and Hohou skills. He usually enjoys drinking a lot, being the first one to start and the last one to finish whenever a party would occur. Ryuuichi has also always been interested in the art of tactics and strategy. He has spent a lot of time reading books on the noble art, and trying to hone his tactician skills whenever he would get a chance, so that one day, he could maybe be in a commanding position, where people would be forced to respect him for the talents that he would have proved to everyone.

B A C K G R O U N D

History/Background: Ryuuichi has no memory of his life on earth other than his habit of always frowning, something he has had for as long as he can remember. The farthest point in his existence that his remember is waking up in a forest in Rukongai, starving to death, barely managing to crawl his way to a nearby district, literally getting fed back to life there. Unknowingly, he had landed in district 71, a district that no one seemed to be able to name, or at least, kept the name a secret from him. He realized how lucky he was to still be alive when he realized what was going on in the district in which he lived. Violence all around every day, robberies, murders. There wasn’t a single day that passed without him seeing someone cry because they had lost a loved one, or were the victims of a lowly crime.

It took him around fifty years of fighting, and killing just to survive to convince himself that maybe getting out of there was the best course of action, although he had nowhere else to go to. He had no family, no home, no loved ones. The only thing remotely close to that was the few people from the district that he didn’t consider hostiles. He took some time to think about it, but the longer he took, the more of his friends were getting killed every day, and he knew he couldn’t protect anyone in that district, and finally left, trying to find another district, living on the run in the meantime.

Five nomadic passed before Ryuuichi found himself a new home, in district 34. Violence there was a rare occurrence, more like something that was actually seen as a crime, rather than some people’s hobby. After a while, some people started telling him to go and enlist himself in the shinigami army, that he would surely become an asset to them in the future. Ryuuichi was never much of a team player, but decided to try it anyways. He took only three years to pass academy, nearly passing Hakuda and Hohou on the spot, taking the rest of his time there to barely manage to pass Zanjutsu and Kido, the two arts which he hated with a passion. He was then immediately sent in the Onmitsukido, for his obvious skills in Martial Arts, and in close quarters combat. He spent over forty years perfecting his craft, the missions on which he was barely ever losing people. His ability to lead troops into battle eventually started getting him noticed by the higher ups, but also by his peers, who, despite strongly disliking him, started to respect his abilities a bit, beginning to enjoy going on assignments with him, rather than opposing him like everyone had done in Ryuuichi’s past. This lead to the higher ups promoting Ryuuichi to a commanding position, trusting his fighting skills along with his talent in strategy and tactics, and his strange charisma, the man being an asshole, but an asshole that seemed to begin to be respected by the ones who had to collaborate with him.

Zanpakutô Spirit Name: Ryuutsume (Dragon Claw)
Appearance: Ryuuichi’s Zanpakuto spirit is a human-dragon metamorph whose height in his human form is around the same as Ryuuichi. Should the both of them stand beside each other, the only thing that would make them different would be Ryuutsume’s head, which still has some traits of a dragon, notably the bigger, pointy ears, along with a huge nose in comparison to his human counterpart. He has fiery red hair while in his human form, and his eyes look like they’re actually on fire, his body looks larger than his shinigami owner.
In his dragon form, his entire body become scaly, and his skin’s color is a mix of red and orange. His eyes turn into a complete dark red, rather than the fiery glow the dragon could show in his human form. His hands now show big claws rather than his big fingers.
Inner World: Ryuuichi’s inner world is the inside of a calm volcano, some hot, melting lava still remains on the ground, with it always seeming to work on the remaining rock floor, never being able to eat away at the rest of the flooring.
Sealed Zanpakutô : Ryuuichi wields a 20 inches long Kodachi, with supplemental handles on the guard so he can wield it as a Tonfa, rather than as a standard sword.
PhatomTech: Ryuuichi refused any upgrading on his body, preferring to follow his own path of advancement through hours of training and a near legendary discipline in his training, some other shinigami referring to it as murder.

Release: Tachikuru (Sever)

Shikai Description: In Shikai, Ryuuichi’s Kodachi transforms in dual cat claws, or dragon claws in this case, the shinigami’s arms taking the appearance and shape of those of a dragon up to his shoulders, with 2 feet long claws coming out from in between his knuckles, those claws curving downwards for the last six inches. With his arms’ transformations, his muscles and skin expands and hardens, to the point where his arms gain 4 inches in diameter.

Shikai Abilities:
Passive 1 : Ryuuhada (Dragon Skin) : Ryuuichi’s arms now being dragon skin, they have an increased resistance to damage, preventing his arms from getting chopped, only resulting in deep cuts. It would require a lot more power than what is normally required to chop his arms.

Active 1 : Ryuu Sakugen (Dragon Slash) : Using the very least he knows of reiatsu, Ryuuichi can prolong the range of his claws by eight feet by creating reiatsu blades that go from the end of his claws to that 8 feet distance. The shinigami can launch those blades up to fifty feet away from himself, although they lose power as they go on. Ryuu can use that up to 10 times, and he always uses it with both arms at the same time

Active 2 : Ryuu’en (Dragon Flame) : Ryuuichi makes one of his hand catch fire, and uses either a punch, slap, backhanded slap or thrust to attempt to damage his opponent, but also inflict minor burns to him. He can use that at most 20 times during a fight.

Bankai Name: Eien ni moeru Ryuutsume (Eternally flaming dragon claw)
Bankai Description: When he calls his Bankai, Ryuuichi extends both of his arms out, looking like he is crucified, before a fire red aura starts to surround him, forming what resembles a tree of fire around him, covering him completely. It takes a few moments for the fire to fade away, eventually revealing Ryuuichi’s new form. The dragon skin extends to his entire body, including his face. Two medium sized wings grow out of his back and the claws that he has in his shikai are still there, unchanged. The last big change to occur on Ryuuichi’s body is that it is constantly flaming, with a fire that shows no signs of stopping.

Bankai Abilities:
Passive Ability #1 : Ryuuhada. In Bankai, Ryuuichi retains only his first passive shikai ability, which now applies to his full body, rather than only his arms.

Passive Ability #2 : Ryuusesshoku (Dragon touch) : The fire on Ryuuichi’s body slightly punishes hand-to-hand attackers, slightly burning the part of their body that touches Ryuuichi for one post.

Active Ability #1 : Ryuuibuki (Dragon Breath) : In close range, Ryuuichi can breathe fire up to six feet in front of him, taking a deep breath, before exhaling the stream of fire. This ability has a one post cooldown.
