Indeed... empty streets. Frankly speaking, even for Kanako, this was a little depressing. However, that was because the deserted, empty streets reminded her of Hueco Mundo and just how lonely it can be. Such a thought left a sour taste in her mouth as she moved to walk side by side with Amaranta, previous thoughts of petting the Arrancar beside her driven away by the scenery and the prospects. At least there would be a good place for food around here. To Kanako, this town looked almost like it had been abandoned even despite the lights that barely shined from closed curtains. Clearly, everyone was too afraid to leave their house. However, Kanako had the oddest feeling it wasn't because of Amaranta and herself... It was odd, but Kanako decided to ignore it. As long as they didn't get attacked spontaneously, Kanako could care less about anything else but spending time with a potential new friend.
So, she walked with Amaranta, following the woman's lead as the Lioness guided them towards their destination of a bar; which Kanako only had knowledge of by name and the few definitions she had gleamed in Hueco Mundo and her time in the living realm. At the very least, Kanako did understand it was a place where they served humanoid alcohol and food that was always far better than some bargained for. However, Kanako was more than glad to just have a bite to eat and something to wet her throat; and the company certainly would make the meal all the better.
"Sounds good to me, Amara... Lead on, and I shall follow. I am quite curious to know what human food actually tastes like."
With a gentle nod, Kanako accepted this idea to venture towards a Bar, in which they could certainly claim enough food to sate their ravenous hunger; and during which Kanako hoped to find out a bit more about Amaranta. She wasn't sure what she wanted to find out, but Kanako knew she wanted to have a nice time with Amaranta. After all, Kanako knew at the very least that Amaranta was such a woman that would treat one to a nice time; even if she did seem a little rough around the edges somehow. Whatever it was, Kanako approved heartily.

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
If Kanako was growing depressed with the deserted streets of Texas, Amaranta was growing mildly annoyed. After a while, she grew impatient, turning her head to Kanako. "We should probably use, Sonido. It'll help us get there a hell of a lot quicker. I forgot how much of a drag this place is the more you separate from the city." With that, Amaranta did exactly that. Bolting along the empty streets until those blue eyes perceive the nice Bar and Grill she mentioned a few minutes ago. The moment she arrives, she's already opening the door, greeting the civilians as if she owns this place. Naturally, much like she says, the lot of them are greeting her with warm smiles and admiring eyes. After greeting the humans, she sat down at the bar. Placing in a request, she waits for the drinks and Kanako. Until then, she's simply enjoying herself. This was more her speed. Bright lights. Action. Activity.

Perhaps depressed wasn't quite the term... No, Kanako was becoming far too reminded of Hueco Mundo. And that sucked absolute ass. However, Amaranta seemed to grow tired of their surroundings, irritated even, and proposed that they leave the general area swiftly; and with a skill that Kanako had a bit of trouble with due to her size: Sonido. She blinked a tiny bit, swift to try and respond before Amaranta before the Lioness had taken off, however...
"Wait, Amara, I'm not that good--"
Before Kanako could finish, the popping sound of Sonido, and Amaranta's form flashing away was all that greeted Kanako. With a sigh, and a slight slumping of her shoulder, she finished her sentence in dejection.
"with Sonido... Fuck."
As Amaranta charged forward, Kanako had a feeling she needed to help Amaranta work on her lack of patience. After all, she was working with someone who was, sadly, a little slow physically due to her great size. Regardless, Kanako still did her best to keep up, her clumsy and loud Sonido cracking along as she came about half a minute behind Amaranta, needing to walk the last few blocks to the bar and grill; if only to avoid going past it or hitting something. After crouching under the door, likely causing more than a few people to go quiet, Kanako took a seat next to Amaranta. Indeed, it was small in here too, and if Kanako stood to her full height, she would probably shove her upper torso through the ceiling. However, she patted Amaranta on the back and smiled sheepishly.
"Mind giving me a little more warning next time? My uh... Sonido isn't that great. Kinda hard to burst around everywhere easily when you're eight feet tall, and have a giant tail to worry about most of the time... Looks like our first spar will probably include a bit of work on that for yours truly... heh"
A gentle sigh, a shake of her head, which was almost as gentle to prevent her hair from flying everywhere. After the woman relaxed, her tailed curled around the barstool to reinforce it a tiny bit. Afterwards, Kanako waited with Amaranta, currently staring at how food was being prepared at the bar. Truly... human cuisine was very interesting.

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
"Sounds like a skill issue."
It was a rather blunt retort, but Amaranta was a woman who lived by her own creed. Her own way of life. One way. Her Way. She doesn't mind helping Kanako work on her Sonido, though. The reptilian woman will simply find that she's a rather disagreeable woman when she's impatient. The first set of drinks arrive. Some of them are pretty sweet, some are pretty potent. All in all, it's a nice spread. Amaranta orders a few meals because the aromatic scent is really fuckin' good. Is that BBQ? Oh, yeah. She's about to throw down in more ways than one. Ribs. Burgers. Brisket. Sausage. She spares no expense. The leonine woman has the cash, and a demanding appetite. Handing Kanako a drink, she leans back against a chair, watching the civilians roam about the establishment.
"Sometimes, I find that playing to your strengths work best. I don't mind sparring with ya and kickin' your ass, though. Maybe you'll discover somethin' new. I just get really impatient, and rather quickly at that."

"It's somethin' like that."
Kanako shrugged at Amaranta's blunt comment. Perhaps it would've hurt someone else, but not Kanako; whose scaly hide wouldn't be so easily penetrated by harsh words. Regardless, Kanako let Amaranta order their food. Sure, Kanako had eaten the odd fish under water, but she didn't honestly know what humanoid food she would enjoy. Everything Amaranta ordered at least sounded good, but she would only know how it would taste when it came. Afterwards, Kanako took the drink from Amara with a nod of thanks, and then took a drink of it; a strong flavor... but one that was more than acceptable. She smiled a tiny bit before turning her head to look at Amaranta, a gentle chuckle escaping her lips and throat.
"I do normally play to my strengths, height, immense strength; that kinda deal. But, weaknesses are just that, weaknesses. They must be covered or improved, otherwise, they present an obvious opportunity to the opponent. I'm not the best with my sword because I'm still relatively new to it, but I'm improving. Stagnation and weakness is how we die... As a strong Lioness like yourself certainly knows, I am sure."

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
"Tell me about it. It's the law of the land in Hueco Mundo. You can choose to adapt or fade out and becoming some other bastard's meal. Good to know you ain't the type to rest on your laurels."
Amaranta respected the approach. She is happy to find that this woman sitting beside her is every bit as thick-shelled as her appearance. She's a little disappointed at that fact, considering her joy at playing the role of the antagonistic bitch, but at least her respect is further developed from that small interaction. Now, then. Where is that food? She's starving. She wants to chow down while she helps herself to her drinks. Once again, she's growing impatient, but her wish for sustenance is answered as the waitresses bring out a large spread of BBQ. Grinning from ear to ear, she ruffles their heads with a chuckle before turning towards Kanako.
She can choose her portion of the meal, so as long as she's leaving most of it to the leonine woman sitting beside her. Since she wasn't devouring hollows, she'd developed a habit of eating human food. The variety of flavors, coupled with washing it down with a multitude of beverages, enticed her to no end. It's better than anything she's had in Hueco Mundo. That much is for sure. Without hesitation, she's grabbing a rack of ribs and ravenously biting into it like the lioness she resembled.
"Anywaysh... ish good to shee her' yer plentysh capablesh of handlingsh yourshelf."
That was a mouthful, but she didn't care. The food was delicious.

"I'd rather kill, eat, and live... take what I want instead of laying down and dying. Screw resting my laurels when I can take them for myself..."
Kanako was liking Amaranta more and more. Respectfully tall, definitely strong, and the way she carried herself... The impatience was a bit of a problem... but, Kanako supposed it couldn't be helped. Living in Hueco Mundo, needing to fend for your life every minute; it can be easy to get impatient with just about everything when everyone is out to kill you. Kanako simply shrugged, her own stomach rumbling in protest for the lack of a meal, which was something she had not experienced often... but she did at least prefer eating other food aside from other hollows and humans. Humans were kinda off limits if she wanted to stay in the human world, and most hollows struggled too damn much.
Which was why, when their food arrived, Kanako seized the other rack of ribs. It smelled lovely, seemed like it would be a tasty morsel... During this time, if Amaranta was watching Kanako, she would likely see how every single one of Kanako's teeth, while aligned like human teeth, were all sharp; well positioned for biting and tearing flesh, breaking bone. With an audible crunch, Kanako bit through the bone of the rib, and chewed it down with ease, and a surprising lack of crunches. Clearly, her teeth were made for devouring and destroying; and it was likely a little fun to watch how she literally tore through the rack of ribs with the same ferocity that Amaranta tore through her own. Amid bites, and swallows, Kanako finally placed down her rack of ribs, which was mostly destroyed, and started snacking on a sausage; finding the spicy flavors quite enticing. Truly... humans knew their way around food. But, Kanako still did enjoy raw fish...
After a bit, Kanako blinked and turned her attention to Amaranta, who was talking with her mouth full. Kanako simply found this regular, but her mouth was far from full... frankly, she already swallowed half of the sausage she had eaten. So, she chuckled softly at Amaranta and grinned toothily, showing off her sharp teeth again.
"Same goes for you, Amara. You're a Lioness in every way, I see. Makes me really curious to know how well we'd go together fighting together and in a spar... after this meal, how about we go to your place and make the earth shake?"
Kanako chuckled heartily, taking a long drink before she returned to sampling the different types of meats that Amaranta had ordered. Really, she would have to find a way to repay Amaranta for this meal aside from beating the shit out of each other just for fun... Maybe she could take Amaranta somewhere in return after she figured out how to get some money. That would be the best, probably. For now, however, she focused on their meal, and on Amaranta herself. Ya know... they probably were scaring some people by now with how they ravenously attacked their food... Ah well~

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
Their ravenous feast did invite a few wandering stares, but Amaranta little heed as she continued to enjoy her meal. Her eyes did wander to Kanako for a moment, noting the equally ferocious way of attacking her food. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she washed down the rib meat with the refreshing beverage. After that, she's moving towards enjoying some brisket, choosing to slow her place as she sliced and cut through it with knife and fork. She'd only known her for a few hours, but at least she isn't a punk. She really hated the passive types.
Maybe they could develop a good friendship, though the extent to which that might happen, was better left to the future. Whether Hueco Mundo or the Living Realm, Amaranta isn't so foolish to assume she can befriend everyone. Friend was a rather tricky term. They might be enjoying each other's company today, only for this reptilian woman to view her as possible prey if she let her guard down. For the moment, she's good company, however. Then, she offered going to her place to... make the earth shake. It was an odd wording, so Amaranta immediately assumed combat.
"I dunno. I do got a pretty nice underground location, but I don't really think it's suited for the type of combat we'd be engaging in. If you wanted to scrap, I'd probably open a descorrer and escort us to my arena. Then, we could really have fun."

Frankly speaking, everything was positively delicious. A good fight and taking Amaranta out to dinner in return definitely seemed warranted. After all, it was only fair. She was given a treat, and now Kanako would return the favor. Not now, of course. Now was the focus of the food the two were devouring at a prodigious rate. The only time they both seemed to slow down was the brisket. Amaranta because she was taking her time with it on purpose, but Kanako had slowed down to spare her stomach. After all, she did devour almost an entire rack of ribs all on her own. She ate a little less civilized, truth be told. The utensils actually were quite reasonably sized for her hands, because she’s wasn’t an immense woman despite being eight feet tall. Regardless, using most utensils was unappealing mostly because she didn’t want to bite into metal on accident; or through it. She could digest a lot, but metal? Not something she wanted going through her system.
Such reasons were why Kanako was enjoying her brisket in smaller, maintained, bites; her razor sharp teeth cutting through the brisket like it was soft butter. Each bite was greeted by a quiet ‘snick’ as she snapped her mouth shut to completely sever the flesh. However, eating slowly as she was, it gave her time to contemplate what Amaranta had said… a fight would be nice after such a great meal. However, so would a roof over her head…
“Perhaps we can save the fight for later then? I still would like to see your home here on Earth, of course… And I owe you for the treat you have given me tonight. If I can earn some currency of the living world, I will take you out somewhere nice if I can find it.”
It wasn’t really a question, more of a statement; blunt and stating her desire to repay Amaranta’s kindness flat out. Frankly speaking, if Amaranta and Kanako weren’t so similar in some respects, it probably would never have been said. But, Kanako knew enough about courtesy that debts, however small, must be repaid.

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
Washing down all the food she'd consumed with the remaining refreshments, Amaranta quietly burped as she turned towards Kanako. Truth be told, there was never a time where she wasn't in the mood to fight. Even so, this was one of those particular moments. Much like humans enjoy their own variety of rest and relaxation, the leonine woman certainly abided by a similar mindset. This freakishly tall woman seemed to enjoy sharing her company, and now offered to repay the debt. She raised an eyebrow at those last words. It was odd. Amaranta wasn't really the type to accept being repaid for what she definitively viewed as whims.
Even so, she recognizes that she did spend her cash, and isn't really getting anything in return for treating her to a meal - nothing tangible as far as she was concerned, but the lioness doesn't really bother with that sort of thing. Whatever she wants to do is ultimately up to her. The house, though, hm... Well, maybe she was open to another whim. She looked like she was kind of an airhead, and Amaranta could probably teach her the tools of the trade so she doesn't do anything that compromises what she's trying to build here.
"Do what you will. You don't really owe me anything. I did this on a whim. As far as my house goes, sure. I guess I could show you what is considered a human's house on earth. I'll just pay these people here and we'll be off. I'm using sonido again this time, though. No questions asked.'
