Best Friends 5Ever! [Vegas, Inanna]

She felt a lot better after her talk with big Alex last night, it was like a huge weight off her shoulders. She was super nervous about what would happen after her grown-up talk with mum but she felt a lot happier about it with her stand-in dad to talk her through it and put those worries to rest like he somehow always did. Maybe it was his superpower or something?

Inanna though was perfectly content to lay on top of her best friend after she woke up. There was a lot on her mind and she wanted to say it to her, he said that her bestie would like to hear what she said and Inanna wanted to say it to her or something along those lines. She was pretty emotional when she said it so it probably wouldn't be perfectly reconstructed in her head but she'd try her hardest!

So she stayed in her nice comfy spot hidden under the covers with Alex's heartbeat in her ear. She'd wake up soon, right? Honestly once she heard the tummy rumble she felt pretty sure that the redhead would wake right up. No one liked to be hungry after all!

Waking up in the morning was never easy, and it was even less easy when you were Alex, who certainly didn't much care for the mornings. But she'd gotten used to it over time, due in no small part to the help of her best friend, and her eyes slowly opened, Alex herself clearly not all awake and aware just yet.

"Mm... Mornin', Nanna..."

She more or less instinctively grabbed onto her friend and pulled her into a warmer, closer hug, used to doing this as a means of staving off the harsh cold that lay in wait outside of the blankets. Besides, Nanna was just nice to hug.

Aha, there she was. Her ears flicked excitedly in the hug from the tall redhead as they hit against the covers, she nuzzled a bit closer into Alex and could've forgotten all about what was on her mind from that.

No no, there was things on her brain that she wanted to share so she wiggled up, covers coming with her so that she could tuck them over Alex's head and they could hide under the nice warm blanket together.

"Alex. I got something I have to.. uhm, that sounds bad, I mean I wanna tell you so wakey wakey or I'll... I dunno, I'll tickle you or somethin'."

She told her with a nudge to her tummy to try and get her more alert.

"Mmmm, no, I'm awake, I'm awake..."

Alex admittedly was still roughly half asleep, but the threat Inanna had thrown at her was a very real one, and besides, the nudge certainly helped. Plus, no matter how tired she was, she was always willing to listen to what her best friend wanted to say, so she listened up with a tired smile.

"What is it, Nanna?"

"Well uh, I talked to mum yesterday and she told me some stuff. It kinda made me think about a bunch of stuff and I got all scared but since I couldn't sleep last night I went outside and ran into your dad who I talked to."

Setting the scene with some context which was anything enlightening as to the details of what information she received and what information that she thought about. That wasn't the important thing for her because the important thing was what she said at the end of her talk with bigger Alex.

"You're the most important person in my life and I wanna make you smile as much as possible because you taught me what it felt like to really be happy. We can stay together forever, right?"

Gosh darn it. Her cheeks felt way redder than she wanted them to after she condensed her feelings into a short explanation but she wanted to look at Alex and see her reaction to try and understand how she felt too. She couldn't hide her face in light of that if she wanted to see the answer.

For a second, Alex just seemed sort of stunned, and then her face turned a remarkable shade of red. She hadn't been ready for something like this, especially not the first thing in the morning, and her eyes darted all over the place as she desperately tried to put her thoughts together. She wanted her to reply to sound right, but she wasn't sure how to put it.

"O-of course! I always want you to be happy Nanna, and I don't ever want us to be apart, you're my best friend, and, um..."

She was obviously nervous, and then she screwed her eyes shut, really bracing herself to talk now as she mustered up all her courage.

"I made you a cake that says this and I was gonna surprise you with it but I love you more than just a best friend!"

Well, there it was.

Huh, so she did think about it? When did she even make a cake? Is that what she was doing while she was at home having to learn about grown-up stuff and all that? Must've been but Inanna wasn't going to linger on a timeline of events. It was a good thing she'd ran into Alex's dad last night, she might've got flustered and reacted way worse to Alex's declaration if he hadn't made her more comfortable about the reality of the situation.

"That's why we're best best friends."

She teased a little bit with a sheepish grin. Now the really smooth part which she hoped would assure her best friend kinda like what her dad did with his words, she wanted to be as smart as him after all.

"Plus, I love you infinity times infinity."

Inanna thought that was really good and it was better because she tried to pet Alex's head to relax her about it too. Admittedly she still didn't really get what the difference between their relationship as it was already and what her mum had described but maybe it would just fall into place. It didn't matter to her as long as they were together.

Best best friends... Well, that made enough sense to Alex, at the very least, and she finally opened her eyes to see Inanna's smiling face properly again. She was definitely still blushing, but she simply pulled Inanna into an incredibly tight hug, all her affection just sort of spilling out in one gesture.

"I love you just as much!"

Alex certainly wasn't the competitive one of the two, and it showed in such a simple response. She didn't want to race Inanna to love her more, didn't want to make things any more complicated than they needed to be. All that mattered was that they loved each other, right?

Owie. She groaned a little bit when she felt herself squeezed by a vice of love, Alex was really tough like her dad and that was great except for when she gave tight hugs that Inanna wasn't able to handle very well, she had to do something so Alex loosened up a bit though. She had an idea, good thing she crawled up with the covers to get Alex under them as well.

She gave her a big smooch, hoping that it got her out of this tight squeeze but also kinda just because she wanted to. Was it any different to before?

"Good. Then it's a promise, we'll never be lonely again as long as we have each other and nothin' will get between that. 'Kay?"

The covers that protected them from the outside world were cast off to bring forth the early morning sunshine into the room. As much as she'd love snoozing in bed and being comfy Alex mentioned cake and that means one thing to her as she stumbled out and got ready to drag Alex too.

"Cake for breakfast!"
