Thwack.
The sound of meat hitting concrete was never comfortable. An audible groan from Lukas, rolling over as he clutched his side. One moment he had been falling, the next - wind knocked out of him, disoriented, and exhausted - wherever he was. A deep breath, as he pushed up, the overpowering spiritual pressure still flaring in the distance.
"What the fuck." the man muttered, choking breaths as he tried to focus. His ears rang as the sweat dried, and eventually, his eyes looked upwards. Two crumpled bodies, Lukas' senses came back in a flash. Taking a stumbling step forward, he collapsed again, distant voices coming closer. The man would fumble for his phone, his left arm dangling loose and bare - burnt flecks of scarred tissue falling with the movement.
"Gotta call.... Get help..." the adrenaline cut out mid sentence, the pale figure slipping back down to the ground. Lukas' eyes fluttered, the vague silhouette of assistance appearing. And in the distance, the spiritual pressure faded. A last whisper slipped out as he fell unconscious, before the three of them would wake up in a hospital.
"Did we win?"

She opened her eyes. And was NOT in a shallow pool of blood. Well that was.... something. Her eyes slowly refocused, darting around for a moment before she slowly grunted and looked around. Where were they? She saw a medical center not far from where they'd been moved. who had done this? She paused, and furrowed her eyes a bit when she spotted solomon and .....Lukas? Oh man they'd deployed Lukas. She sighed. If nothing else....she'd managed to regain a bit of energy. Just enough.
There was a soft high pitched noise as she slowly strung her own body with thin threads of reishi. A soft grunt .... before she slowly peeled herself off the floor and off the small pile of scorched flesh that had come off of her. Her blood flowed along her body, slowly reforming the chunks she was missing, speeding up as she pulled in Reishi that WASN'T mixed in with a bunch of hollow energy.
"No idea. But we gotta worry about getting fixed up first. You both seem alive. Just....gimme a second. and I'll carry both of you inside." She murmured, lacking her usual pip and zest to her voice. She took a moment, letting her ligaments and all that restring as she took a moment to survey the other two for a moment. Assess their state. See if they were safe to be moved or if she'd have to go in and get some people to come carry them in on a stretcher. "Solo. Lemme hear you're alive buddy."

SOLOMON RICHTER | STERNRITTER
A loud groan escaped Solomon's lips as he felt the steady return to consciousness. Initially, he aimed to rise up from the ground, but his body cried out in pain, reminding him that such a decision would currently be unwise. There were two voices he could hear. Familiar voices, belonging to a male and a female. An inquiry from Lukas concerning the battle, and Giselle, aiming to confirm his condition. Well, he wasn't a corpse. He could still hear, see, breathe, smell, and complete any other human function that came to mind.
He was thankful for that. A quiet rage burned within him, reflecting on the battle that had taken place. Had they won? Had they lost? That man was truly a monster. Solomon highly doubted if victory had been secured. Much of the rage had been quelled after recognizing that his peers still lived. Giselle stood out the most as someone he wanted to see still amongst the living.
She risked her life to ensure he was alive right now, and Solomon nearly blew that opportunity away. Sighing softly, he tried leaning up, but his body, wracked with immense pain, slowly slumped down against the ground. Painful as it was to move, he managed to give the woman a thumbs up to signify that he was alive.
"Yeah, I'm good... never been better," he remarked with something between a fierce cough and a light chuckle. It was the only thing he could do to lighten his own mood, to keep himself from reflecting on the battle, pushing out the voices reminding him of his ineffectiveness.

A small crowd of medical staff ran from the nearby building, worried eyes and panicked voices with helpful hands. Stretchers and gloves, needles and bandages - one or two remarks about the woman who was seemingly pulling herself together, but nothing too loud. Every one of them was on edge, the sound of ambulances starting to pick up in the distance.
Lukas was pulled along easily, all but limp as he was carried into the receiving bay. Solomon and Giselle would be carried in as well - assuming they didn't resist - the severity of their wounds far more concerning. Multiple doctors would meet them at the entrance, a few light touches and whispers before sending them to where they'd get the help needed.
Lukas would be lucky enough to get away with a hurt ego more than anything. His shoulder needed setting, and the bruise covering his back was going to hurt for a while. The singed scarring of his left arm would be readily bandaged up, but it had long been numb. A hospital gown, a sling, and a crutch. Nothing fanciful, considering he could still walk.
The waiting room had been converted for mass entrance as more and more casualties came pouring in, Lukas waiting with a dead stare in the corner. What the hell was that? Did either of them know what was going on? He'd pinched the bridge of his nose, internally screaming.

It was a swift process to get her in. Once the medical staff ACTUALLY showed up, Giselle was all too happy to let them bring her in. She peeled her ID from her pocket and showed...... a charred sliver of plastic. Well shit. "I'm Giselle Gewelle. You guys should have my file. I just need some Reishi and I'll be able to fix myself up fine." She explained as the Doctors seemed.....uneasy, but one of them seemed to recognize the name and promptly started to pull up her file as some others began working on Lukas and Solomon. Good...they should be just fine.
She sighed softly and closed her eyes. Some of the staff still fussed a little over her. Asking if there was anything they could to to make her more comfortable. Once they'd gotten her file and verified that she wouldn't need actual treatment, she relaxed and sighed, a small line of Ginto tubes beside her, cracking them open one after the other and sucking in the Reishi easily enough. Her blood promptly began rapidly refilling and she soon looked like she'd gotten in a BAD fight, but was no longer falling apart. Blood slithering along her frame, filling in the flesh, and steadily repairing her. Now with a steady supply of reishi, she would be....stable before long.
The MAJOR issue, would be the ammount of Hollow reishi riddling her body. It would all have to be dragged out of her. The ...benefits of being a quincy. Already she could feel.....se wasn't quite alright. She wasn't healing quite as fast, and her energy levels felt very low. She'd thankfully not dragged in any of it and absorbed it. But there was still probably a mess of the stuff on her body and in some of her wounds. The Quincy doctors would be all too familiar with this stuff. She would be fine. But well....she would definitely not be fighting fit for a while. Until her body could get properly scrubbed of hollow. Thankfully the other guys had had less dire injuries. Hopefully they would probably be up and ready much faster than her.
She closed her eyes... and used her Reikaku. She didn't sense the enemy anymore. Not from here at least. Did they leave? Were they defeated? Driven off? She didn't quite know. KSSSS. Another Ginto popped open and she sighed as she absorbed it's contents. Once she was stable, she'd ask to be discharged, she would be a little fucked up, but not enough that she needed to take up a bed. She planned on visiting the other patients. Figure out what happened after she went down.

SOLOMON RICHTER | STERNRITTER
Solomon was hurriedly carried off by the medical staff. He was in no particular position to resist them, anyway, considering his body's condition, to say nothing of the overwhelming pain he was in. Though his injuries weren't as dire as his other peers, he would certainly require his fair share of bedrest. Come to think of it, was she recovering properly? How had Lukas fared? He certainly came in well after he was unconscious. The hope was that he himself wouldn't be here for too long, if he could help it.
Even so, the doctors reminded him that pushing his body any more than he could currently manage would only make matters worse. Frustrated as he was, Solomon decided to let things play their natural course. His tattered clothing was removed in favor of a hospital gown while any visible bruises were bandaged up. Bedrest with his current mood? Not a fond mixture. Yet, here was, sitting on a hospital bed.
He would find himself rising up every now and then to pace himself, to avoid a direct reflection on their losses. Ruminating on it any longer would only make him frustrated. He gazed at his mobile device, wondering if the battle had been recorded, only to set it back down.
If his body got any better, he'd certainly visit his peers. For now, he currently sat in quiet rumination, reflecting on how he desired to get stronger. That was his true endgame now. To hell with his family issues and living up to their image. His soul would never allow him to let another situation of this magnitude occur again.
Strength... that is what he desired.

THE CITY OF LIGHT
hospital
_____________________________________________________________
Restless minutes had long panned into hours as Lukas stared silently. The hospital wall in front of him not particularly intriguing - the man was lost in his head, no thought to go elsewhere.
His arm was itching, and he couldn't scratch it.
This troubled Lukas as much as his wounded allies, if not more. It had been so long that he had almost forgotten. The rush of it, power burning through fingertips. The frailty that came soon after. A twitch, and rustle, and the skin feels of fire. Nails raked over the skin and filled with salt. It'd been too long. Not like it would've matched anyway.
With the passage of time, he had been able to see whatever footage and details that had ensued before and after his arrival - Giselle and Solomon engaging the target, the arrival of Uriel and the massive attack sent his way - that the target dissapeared, taking someone with him.
A stir from the silver eyed man, Lukas blinking rapidly as he seemed to snap back into reality. A nurse, who had been trying to get his attention for the past fifteen odd minutes, finally managed to break through. "Herr Lukas?"
Swirling back into focus, he'd nod briefly, standing up as an arm braced the chair beneath him. "Ja? They're ready for visitors?" She'd respond in kind, Lukas letting slide a faint smile as he passed her.
The hallways were lined with stretchers. Most empty - thankfully or otherwise - but a disaster nonetheless. Lack of evacuation time, enormous applications of spirital pressure . The stadt had long become more than a place just for quincy, and those less capable were rendered such. Lesser. At least, that's how Lukas saw it.
The clatter of metal rings as a curtain drew back, Solomon's hospital bed lit bright. "So, you hangin in there?" a half hearted attempt at comradery.

It had been a bit of a mess talking to the doctors. Them trying to get used to the files on Giselle. aving to switch from 'I need to save this patient' to 'well she's kinda as fine as she's getting' was certainly a hard thing for many of them to deal with. But it was sorted out over the course of a couple hours. Her body still....itched. She'd had to let them lay her down and clean her out as best they could. She was gonna be sick for a while. The downside of her ...healing. There were going to be a large ammoutn of teeny tiny little pockets of hollow energy. The majority of it had been sorted out of her. Enough that she was free from any real danger. But she was going to take some time to be backl to a hundred percent. For the rest to eat it's way out of her. She'd been through it before. Random bleeding. Bits of her rotting. The kinda thing that would kill a normal quincy. And truth be told, if she really wanted. No....if the Reich NEEDED her at 100 percent. She could just let them scrub her. Take her apart and surgically clean her out. But others needed it far more than her. She could tough it out for now.
For the time being, she grabbed her discharge papers and checked with the nurse. Perfect timing.
Not long after Lukas had walked into the room, Giselle paused outside of Solomon's door. Raising a brow, a little surprised that the guy was up and about so fast. Then again, she didn't really know how bad they'd been hurt. So she waited outside, resting her back against the wall just outside.
And. Admittedly. Eavesdropping a little. She didn't wanna crowd Solomon. The nurse had said he was fine to be visited, but that didn't mean they'd let people pile in. She'd wait her turn.

SOLOMON RICHTER | STERNRITTER
Solomon was drawn away from his thoughts by a familiar voice as he gazed at Lukas revealed himself. He welcomed the distraction. His thoughts would have likely wore on him until he surrendered to a frustrated slumber. Rising up on his bed enough to face him, Solomon would sigh softly as he ran a hand through his hair. He wasn't entirely certain how well he could answer that question. What did hangin in there even mean'? Something about his mood? His condition?
He chuckled lightly, taking a deep breath to allow this sense of unease to exorcise itself from his spirits. He understood Lukas intent well enough. He had intended to check on Lukas and Giselle, but he was beat to the punch. He supposed it hardly mattered who checked on who in a time like this. Comradery was something to lean on in difficult times, right?
"Besides some frustration that I'm trying to work through and the nagging injuries, I'm doing as well as I could have hoped. None of us died, and to that, I am relieved. I'm surprised to see you up so soon. Then again, I was clearly out by the time you arrived. I swung my sword for one strike and then I lost consciousness... How about you, Lukas?"
Solomon noted Giselle's presence. He could feel her spiritual presence. He was certainly aware that she was somewhere nearby. Perhaps she was waiting to see him too, and simply didn't want to overwhelm him. Even so, it'd be nice to see her on her own two feet. She had brought every resource to bear to ensure he and the city remained unharmed. He nearly threw her sacrifice away by standing before that man, but he wondered if he truly regretted that decision. Even now, those words still resonated in his mind. However, in remembering them, he found his resolve.
I will not die. No, I'll grow stronger from here. To protect them, to protect this city...

Lukas nodded along as Solomon talked, silent for a time after. A slip of his sight to the side, another familiar face peeking in. The silver haired man payed her no mind as he spoke. "Yeah I uh, figured all that out." he pulled a chair forward, before sitting down.
"You didn't check the news then, huh?" Whatever Solomon's reply, Lukas continued. "They got most of it on broadcast. Couple people from the evacuation zone with cameras, you know how it is. Been playing censored footage for a few hours now, news won't shut up about it. Apparently there are rumors it was someone famous, not anything I've heard of though. Not someone we coulda probably taken out, either."
Leaning back, the sling dug into Lukas' shoulder. Mild discomfort, but enough for a long sigh - "As for me, I'll be fine. Eventually." He shrugged with a slight nod towards his left arm, "What I get for being rusty. Hard to believe though, the guy just ended up... leaving?" Something he was still trying to make sense of, the confusion still palpable in his words. He'd turn to Giselle, extending a finger in gesture.
""You're old as dirt, know anything about it?" half-joking, half-serious; either way, it didn't sit right with him. If you were going to attack some place, you'd raze it. That's what he'd do.
So why didn't an arrancar?
