Bullet Time [Liltotto/Elou]
Sun Feb 20, 2022 7:28 pm
Liltotto Lamperd
A peaceful morning upon her, she had taken to sitting by in the training hall, overseeing a collective of rookies and their progress. By no means was her presence asked for, but she had an off feeling of interest in their work. From what she saw, some were promising, others were rather standard, and few needed pointers she’d gently ask them before supplying.
She couldn’t help but be reminded of back when she was young and watching the developments of her peers, this current spread wasn’t too much dissimilar in terms of skill or quickness in learning, a good sign in her eyes, and less to worry of.
All she wanted was for them to bear the ability and skill to defend themselves, and their home. A few of the recruits she’d gently congratulate if they appeared to overcome a hurdle of some kind, before her attention fell to a girl with a rather.. Familiar presence to her.
“How’re you progressing?” She’d ask rather casually, taken interest in the girl specifically for the moment.

It was good that she could control the noise of the gun, otherwise she'd spook everyone with the loud crackaboom. Still, a daily training session was always good, kept her sharp and gently nudged her limits. Not quite the insane drive that left her dead on her feet like she did with Natasha, but enough that she was kept sharp.
Of course, there were none Quincy in the City these days, and a woman with a gun in a race generally known for it's bows and arrows, drew attention. She didn't let that distract her too much, and just politely engaged on a surface level so they would go away after a short while. Hence when one woman came up and asked how she was progressing, Elou did exactly that.
"As can be expected" was the dry and cool reply, a tone of disinterest and a facial expression to match.

Her eyes drew to the weapon the girl wielded. A gun user, hmm? She had wondered if creating a gun was any more involved than a bow, given the difference in power and shape. She personally hadn't much experience in manipulating reishi into the destructive weapon of those she called kin, after all. Though she was surprised by the girl's lack of expression in her response; usually the younger or newer members were some sliding scale of angsty or bright-eyed, but this girl was rather... Flat.
"Sooooo... How long ya been here?" She'd ask in a rather casual tone, "Haven't seen ya around before."

"Few days" Elou replied in the same tone, popping open the cylinder and dumping the spare brass on the floor. It vaporised into Reishi before hitting the ground, and then she shut the gun and gave it a spin to reload the rounds, and then sighted the target and pulled the trigger. Fly-By-Wire was good, but keeping her actual physical marksmanship sharp was also good.
She did want to practice her Blut, but didn't want to show that to a stranger who wasn't a Quincy. She got that the city was trying to be all welcoming and open, but that didn't mean she had to go so far as to put everything she had on display for people that she didn't know, didn't trust, and didn't share anything with.

"Figured you were a newbie."
Liltotto leaned against the wall, arms crossed as she'd watch the girl going at it, perhaps noticing a bit of distance unlike others who came here. What an odd chick with the cold shoulder play... But at the same time, she was somewhere new, she may just be having a hard time adapting, or was shy, or something. The woman definitely had her own adjustment period moving in and whatnot a few months ago...
"Liltotto Lamperd, Sternritter," She'd nod towards her, "And your name issss?"

"Elou" was the short reply, looking to the woman for a second. While Elou was never really a purist when it came to Quincy, she did feel that the specific organization and military should keep to their race, and maybe have an auxiliary orginization for allies. The fact that they were letting unrelated people into the Sternritter these days was one that made her even more withdrawn from the conversation.
So, with that in mind, she let the gun disintegrate into Reishi and would turn from the training grounds to leave. The practice range was hardly the place to engage in conversation with someone new, and Elou didn't particularly want to make a new friend just to see them grow distant like everyone else did. It wasn't her fault the world expected her to move her face more. Was best to start the rude here, so she didnt pick up an overly gregarious puppy that would inevitably get hurt.
