Determined:

More than anything Tatsuki has an unabiding will to persevere and GET what she wants. Whether that applies to finding something out or even just accomplishing a menial task, she is sure to make sure she gets it done and is rarely the type to needlessly procrastinating. That said, her work with the Stealth Force has resulted in a burgeoning wealth of patience. While she was once the type of woman to meet any challenge or problem head on without worry, she has learned that such tactics can sometimes never work, and that patience can be far more effective. That said, she can sometimes have a bit of a temper.

Menacing:

While perfectly capable of being hapy, carefree, or even cheerful if the situation calls for it, Tatsuki's menace has been around ever since she was a very young girl. Whether it was brutally taking down sparring partners in a dojo, or even just intimidating classmates during her school years. Back in the day, she was rumored to be capable of setting a stray dog on fire just by glaring at it, and this potential for menace has only lost it's skill cap upon gaining shinigami powers and working with the Second Division.

Placid:

While her fiery temper can flare up, Tatsuki has grown and seen a lot in her career as a shinigami in the Gotei. Seeing the world and even just the gotei itself change over the centuries. As a result, Tatsuki can sometimes be spacey and incredibly distant, often finding quiet secluded spaces to stared off into the horizon and simply think quietly to herself.

Protective:

Always one to help those weaker than her, this was originally an aspect which shined brightest when she was a human and petered off for a while after Tatsuki lived through the era of Ender's attack and had to focus on survival. However, after transitioning into a Substitute Shinigami, and then a true shinigami later on in her life, her desire to protect those close to and weaker than her continues to be a major part of her personality. This sentiment was, unfortunately, something she has had to suppress because of her division. At times, she has come to know that the objective can supersede the importance of her allies in the heat of the moment. And Tatsuki has ......struggled to come to terms with this. As such, outside of work, her protectiveness has only increased considerably and she often helps tutor Shino Academy students as a way to assuage her own worries about losing that part of herself.



Tatsuki Arisawa was born just outside of Karakura in Japan and grew up being friends with Ichigo Kurosaki as a young child, and then later on becoming best friends with Orihime Inoue in Middle School. Once reaching High School, her fairly mundane life quickly began to shift into the unusual, especially with the arrival of a mysterious New Student named Rukia Kuchiki. Shortly after the arrival of the Shinigami Rukia, spiritual activity within Karakura began to increase considerably.

Tatsuki’s first interaction with the spiritual would be in the form of Acidwire’s attack on Inoue Orihime. After the hollow was cleansed, Tatsuki Arisawa’s memories were erased but her spiritual energy began to increase as a result of the encounter with the hollow, so much so that later on as she began to run into more and more hollows and even as Karakura was subjected to the Memory-erasing technology of the Soul Society, thanks to the awakening of her own spiritual power she began to resist and even ignore the influence of it.
This would further serve her later upon encountering a second hollow: Numb Chandelier, that had chosen to try and attack the school during the duel between Uryu Ishida and Ichigo Kurosaki.

During this encounter, Tatsuki engaged with a large number of students whom had been taken over by Numb Chandelier’s seeds, easily taking them down and defending Orihime. Even when she was attacked directly by the Hollow she managed to resist and push off the effects of the Hollow’s control ability until one such seed was embedded in her skull. While she very nearly died as a result of the hollow’s attacks and being forced to harm Orihime, the power of Orihime’s fullbring was able to restore her to her original state, removing the effects of the hollow’s power and healing the damage done by the seeds themselves.

This pattern of encountering powerful Spiritual Beings would only continue to occur as time went on. Managing to resist having her soul sucked out by the 10th Espada Yyamy Llargo until Ichigo, Yoruichi, and Urahara managed to drive the Espada away from the world of the living. Then again, she would find herself encountering strong spiritual beings in the form of Gin Ichimaru and Aizen Sousuke after having absorbed the Hogyoku. Barely able to withstand proximity to the Ascended Shinigami, she is almost killed before Don Kanonji and Rangiku Matsumoto arrive and manage to permit herself and several other humans to escape.

During this encounter, Tatsuki and the other spiritually aware humans in Karakura band up in an attempt to understand what has happened and survive whatever spiritual event is unfolding. Throughout the encounters of spiritual beings through Karakura Tatsuki had made note that more and more of her classmates were becoming spiritually aware, however this event drew a surprise when her classmate Chizuru Honsho joined the group as those capable of resisting the technology of the Shinigami. In incredible distress as a result of this being her first experience with resisting the phenomena, Chizuru’s point of almost breaking down caught Tatsuki’s attention as the girl’s frightened demand not just for safety, but to understand the situation going on around her would remind Tatsuki of her own situation of helplessness, having confronted Ichigo earlier in the month in regards to the disappearance of Orihime Inoue. The group is, however, unable to answer Chizuru’s questions and they promise to explain the situation to her when they get the chance. It is at this point that Aizen and Gin find the group. Aizen proceeds to threaten Tatsuki and her friend’s lives for the purpose of motivating Ichigo to perfect his evolution, but is saved with the arrival of Don Kanonji and Rangiku Matsumoto. Tatsuki notes how beautiful Rangiku is before she is carried off by Don.

Following the resolution of the event, the group of survivors grow much closer as a result of the experience. In particular, Tatsuki Arisawa follows through on her promise to inform Chizuru Honsho about everything she knows regarding these spiritual occurrences and the two become close friends as a result.


It was the Attack of Ender however that pushed them to move beyond simple bystanders. With the horrific attack that shook a large portion of the world, Tatsuki and her friends began to explore the idea of being more active in attempting to keep their home safe. Keigo originally came up with the idea to become Substitute Shinigami. A number of the group were hesitant to accept the idea, however ultimately it would be Tatsuki, Mizuiro, Michiru, and Tatsuki who initially took the initiative toward the endeavor. However, after their meeting, Tatsuki would find herself confronted by Chizuru in regards to the decision, feeling that these sorts of situations were entirely beyond them and that it would be safest to let others handle them. Tatsuki asserted that while they had no obligation to put themselves on the line, that they had a right to be able to defend at the very least themselves if not others, that it was a matter of WANTING to defend their home and one another rather than any obligation.

Touched by Tatsuki’s resolve, Chizuru accepts Tatsuki’s reasoning and informs her that she would join them in the endeavor to become substitute shinigami.
Initially, everyone in the group managed to pass their examination in order to become a substitute shinigami with the exception of Michiru and Chizuru, though with the help of her Tatsuki and Keigo, they would later on join the gotei as substitutes as well.

While they struggled throughout their lessons as Shinigami, Tatsuki spent the time to ensure nobody fell too far behind by helping tutor those that were having trouble with the curriculum. However, thanks to the sheer exposure to spiritual phenomena and their experience of some of them having already combatted hollows in the past, it wasn’t long before they graduated from the Academy and joined Soul Society properly. It was also during this period that Tatsuki and Chizuru discovered their own unique powers, powers that she would later find out were the abilities of a Fullbringer.


As a result of her particularly high performance in the academy, Tatsuki was accepted into the Second Division as an unseated member. However, thanks to her determination and talent it wasn’t long until she had earned a position as a Seated Officer within the division, climbing up the ranks and managing to secure a position as 14th seat within the division before the start of World War 3. By the end of the conflict, through both earning promotions and in losing some of their officers, Tatsuki wound up in the 6th seat position in her squad as the combination of her own natural abilities and

However, as World war 3 came to pass she noticed the sheer shift in the Gotei as soon it became more and more isolated. More and more, she felt pressured to focus her work on the Gotei as through restructure and the events between ww3 and the present drew the Gotei into more or less abandoning the World of the Living in comparison to it’s interactions before. Once her former Captain, Shaolin retired from the Gotei she herself considered the notion. But she couldn’t bring herself to leave. Keigo had become a firm believer in their ability to change the Gotei from the inside and even Michiru had grown fond of those that she had come to garner as friends. Only Chizuru seemed to support the idea of possibly leaving if Tatsuki went through with it, but Tatsuki felt that honestly, she would support any decision that she decided to make. Ultimately, she decided to stay within the Gotei, hoping make the change that would revive her faith in the organization.




Martial Expertise - Hand to Hand: Even prior to becoming a Shinigami, Tatsuki was a beast in terms of physical confrontation. Having been trained in Karate since she was very little and having once held the title of the 2nd strongest woman in all of japan before the events in the wake of Rukia Kuchiki coming to the world of the living and her ultimate place in the Stealth Force only further refining her already-terrifying proficiency. While she is capable of other forms of combat, Tatsuki si at her most deadly when fighting with her bare hands.

Brutal Tenacity:
Tatsuki’s physical and mental fortitude are immense, showcased specifically in the sheer amount of physical strength she has as well as her own considerable willpower throughout her life. More than anything, regardless of the damage she takes or the state of her body, she still manages to find a way to summon up a terrifying physical strength, powering through injuries or even abilities that would otherwise suppress her strength or her will to fight.




Karakuraizer Watch: A relic from her past and an item she once receivfed from Urahara Kisuke himself. Entirely unused for the past 400 years, the bit of equipment is something she isn’t even sure if it WORKS anymore, but it is something she has held onto all the same, a memento from her days as a human. And who knows, maybe some day it will come in handy.

The watch was originally designed to transform into a Raizer suit for the purpose of drastically amplifying the spiritual output of a mere human to the level of being able to fight hollows and even weak arrancar. Though it’s efficacy these days is anyone’s guess.




» Racial Abilities:

Roaring Shunpo: A byproducts of her own stealth training to reduce the noise of her shunpo, Tatsuki developed this custom version of Shunpo which focuses on the complete opposite. When executed, this shunpo unleashes a concussive burst of sound strong enough to shatter glass and one’s eardrums, even doing mild soft tissue damage at point blank range. This technique, however, despite what many might think, is not a reversal of steatlh shunpo techniques, but rather the expansion of them. Techniques which typically completely muffle or keep sounds close to the user such as to be inaudible is instead condensed into a bubble up to 5 meters wide around the user. While anything within this space is guaranteed to notice the noise and damage, those outside of it won’t hear or feel a thing.

Mizubukureshin (Blistering Core):
An application of Hakuda in which the user packs large amounts of spirit energy into their muscles, tendons, and nervous system in order to amplify one’s physical capabilities to the utmost. Thanks to her lacking skills in Kido, Tatsuki found herself incapable of Shunko, and as a result developed a means of augmenting her abilities. While Shunko vents enormous amounts of spiritual energy and circulates it through the surroundings, Mizubukureshin simply condenses spiritual energy into the body’s tissues. As a result the user’s tier drops an entire Full Rank (1-2 becomes 2-2), in exchange for amplifying the user’s Speed, Strength, and Focus by half a skill rank.



» Zanpakutô Name: Shinku Jubboko 真紅 樹木子 (Crimson Treechild)

» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Tatsuki’s Zanpaku’to spirit takes the form of a tall Oni-like woman with blood-red skin and almost white hair tied up into a ponytail, a single horn protruding from her forehead. Her eyes are an eerie glowing blue and she generally appears entirely naked save for the blood constantly flowing off her form like a liquid dress.

» Inner World: Tatsuki’s inner world is a massive collection of dark black trees like willows. One might mistake it for the menos forest were it not for the sweeping drooping black branches that reach down from the canopy like stalagtites, oozing blood from the very tips of the branches to a red sea down below.

» Zanpakutô Appearance: Tatsuki’s zanpaku’to takes the form of a slim, straight-edged Ninjatō of otherwise uninspiring appearance. The handle is wrapped in sleek black fabric and the guard forms an fancy eye shape almost comparable to an egyptian eye of ra were the elaborate branches not done symmetrically on the top and bottom.

»  Sealed Zanpakutô  Power:

Jubokko - Naku (Weep):
Whenever Tatsuki primes herself for a fight, injuries inflicted by her bleed profusely merely by saturating herself with Jubokko’s reiryoku. This spirit energy then inhibits the clotting causing even small injuries to bleed endlessly and profusely if left unchecked, both internally and externally if she so chooses.

Jubokko - Nomu no Seiseinamida (Drinking Purified Tears):
This ability allows Tatsuki to absorb blood that she comes into contact with, breaking it down into spiritual components and converting it into pure energy. This process obliterates any impurities or other negative properties that might have been connected to the blood itself. This process purifies and processes the blood into pure energy, restoring Tatsuki’s reserves as if she had Hollow Regeneration skill equal to her Zanjutsu skill for the duration of the post in which she ingests or absorbs the blood so long as it isn’t her own (Her own blood will always only supply Beginner hollow regeneration regardless of her own Zanjutsu skill, requires at least Adept Zanjutsu skill).

In addition to this effect, if Tatsuki is able to absorb at least 250 ml (a bit more thana cup) of a target’s blood, she will be able to absorb surface thoughts and short term memories from the target. At least a liter of blood will tell her almost anything she wants to know about a person. This ability used against PC characters has its information-gathering effects limited by OOC consent.






» Shikai Release Phrase: Hisomu (Lurk)

» Shikai Release Action: Jubboko’s release activation is achieved by making contact with the weapon through her blood (Which she hates).

» Shikai Appearance: Tatsuki’s zanpakuto dissolves into fine black particles when released as it transfers itself into her body and then becomes a vine which begins growing through her body via her blood vessels, these vines can sometimes be seen growing out of openings in her skin usually around her knuckles.

» Shikai Abilities:

Uetsukeru (Implant)

This ability causes microscopic seeds to be produced in Tatsuki’s lungs and are spread as she exhales them. On contact with a nonliving surface these seeds grow into large, vine-like trees over the course of 2 posts which can reach up to 10 meters in height, 30 meters when in spiritual realms or areas of high concentration of reishi on earth. IN areas with INCREDIBLY dense spirit energy (Such as the Soul King’s Palace) these trees can seemingly grow endlessly. The purpose of these trees is the collection of blood as any blood within 10 meters of any part of these trees will dissolve and be absorbed into them, turning the bark bright red. The blood is broken down and purified, eliminated of any impurities or negative effects that might be imbued within it, and promptly condenses this energy into a fruit after having absorbed blood from a target for 3 cumulative posts. Tatsuki can at most generate 5 trees at once (Increases to 10 at Advanced Zanjutsu, 15 at Elite). Trees can persist for 5 posts before crumbling (A tree that has crumbled cannot be replanted for 5 posts).

In addition to being able to manipulate and attack through these trees (The speed, strength, and durability of these trees match Tatsuki’s Zanjutsu skill -1 (Equal skill at Advanced)), these fruits can also be consumed by Tatsuki, allowing her to not only steal a person’s likeness (For up to 5 posts, 8 at Advanced Zanjutsu, 10 at Elite), but also their reiryoku signature and even some portion of their mannerisms. Once a fruit has been produced from a target, their blood and DNA is stored within Tatsuki’s shikai (Can be used once more in another thread before this stored DNA is consumed), allowing her to utilize this ability so long as she still has access to shikai by simply reproducing the fruit using a small amount of spiritual energy (The energy required for a basic Level 1 Hadō spell).

Tatsuki was panting as she watched the hollow finally collapse to the ground, a large hole having been punched clean through it’s chest by the woman as she caught her breath, a few scuffs and cuts littering her person as she narrowed her eyes down at the creature’s writhing form.

”About time idiot…. but I cant let a punk like you get off that easily, I’m afraid.” She managed to pant out, striding over to the hollow’s weakening form and eyeing the hole that she’d made, and felt a wince coursing through her. She remembered a time when this was something vile and disgusting. A long time ago, she might have been freaked the hell out seeing something like this. But well, a few decades in the stealth force was more than enough to quell and settle her stomach on this sort of thing

She sighed in resignation. And a few centuries was long enough to feel like this was just normal. Reaching down, she stuck her hand into the blood that was pooling beneath the creature, closing her eyes as her expression hardened. ”Alright big guy. Let’s see if you’re the one……”




A good ten minutes later, Tatsuki was rinsing her hand off in a pond. It didn’t really matter that her body completely absorbed the stuff, she still always washed the area just incase anything was just….left over. It still wasn’t the hollow that had eaten the member of Squad Seven. A sigh escaping her as she narrowed her eyes in disappointment. drying her hand off and eyeing her shoulder as she watched the shallow wound slowly close up. It’d been a stronger hollow than she’d expected. Well, nothing to do about it.

Tossing the rag in her pouch she stood back up and looked around. She couldn’t sense any more hollows…. but she knew that the one she was looking for was still here. She sighed, a hopeless, tired expression crossing her face. She was going to need a drink after tonight. Six hollows in an hour, but at the very least, the only ones she was still hunting down were the ones trying to hide. She’d probably find her target before midnight.

”Here’s to hoping ” She murmured to herself, something of a slow smile spreading across her face. No matter how dirty thew job she had to do, she could never shake the feeling of enjoyment that came with fighting. Made her think of the old days.
