"I understand entirely, Director Armstrong. I do not wish to place the full weight of responsibility on your shoulders for the actions of those below you. The people of this world find disagreement in even the smallest things, and it would be foolish and cruel of me to blame you for the actions of individuals."

Her hesitation on the matter of the Gotei spoke much to Erchanhardt, perhaps more than she might have anticipated. The way in which she worded it made it rather apparent that this was a matter that extended even to the highest echelons of the Vandenreich. Well, that was not something he could necessarily change.

"Your word is more than enough. I know that your people have no love for the Gotei United, and I have read enough of history to know that it is not without reason. I will naturally do what I am able to ease all tensions. Even if I am not a member of your organization, know that I support your aims. The world has become a dangerous place for those under our protection. Despite the promises of others, only the Vandenreich has proven reliable in these troubled times."

Erchanhardt couldn't say that he had much appreciation for the Gotei, either. They certainly could have done more, and from what little he heard from Himiko, it seemed there was even disagreement there. Well, that was hardly the pertinent matter at the moment, but it gave him something to consider.
