ENTER THE DEMONS POST
Artist: N/A - Song: N/A
Abandoned, decayed, and rotted. Remnants of a former Queen are all that remained as Nami Asthavon's manor stayed in a state of disrepair. Only whispers of the demon god's heart echoed in this foggy, stone-filled place. Endless grey painted the earth and heavens; so it made for the perfect place to hide oneself from the world. Desiring no other beings besides her divine mother and father, The Princess of Demon World came forth to this peak of the Vicara Nation to seek refuge.
There alone did this snow-hair woman overlook the infinite sea of ash ahead of herself as the cold wisp of the land slithered against this demoness. Those blood-red eyes of her just stared endlessly as she lost herself in thought. That is what the Vicara Nation was, was it not? A place for demons to seek the truth within themselves as far as lore was concerned. Thus, this whole space was something that existed out of reality and out of touch with the world itself. And perhaps there was truth to that sensation overflowing.
"You've drained so much from everything and everyone, why do you even exist?"
A simple, gentle voice called out from the mist as the sight of a girl adorned a white dress broke through the silence and emptiness of the existence around Algos. With hair as pale as the Princess's and eyes filled with scarlet, this extension of her power grew to take the material form of its former owner: Neoveta Asthavon.
Regardless, Algos remained silent as the creature continued.
"Is this not what you wanted? All of this pain, all this power; is your hunger not satisfied by this? Answer me."
...
There was darkness -- then a light came.
Was the world was upside down or had it been that way the entire time?
Regardless, it was raining now. And it was a nice reprieve, wasn't it? Rain washed away the sins of the self and brought with it a sense of rebirth and renewal. So as the crimson eyes of Algos opened, she found herself on the ground in a pool of her own blood as that child stomped its foot in her chest. Everything felt cold, but she couldn't feel much. For this reason is a sullen expression eased over the woman as she resigned herself to gaze at the endless downpour in this muddy, crater in the ground.
"Do you really have nothing to say to me? Nothing to speak of when it comes to the crumbling world around you? Is this not your own doing? Can you truly say you've been innocent in all of this when you've had the power to change everything with my strength!?"
Again, the creature snarled, its foot becoming blackened as the energy of the gods themselves roared out of the child's being. Deafening claps of thunder echoed throughout the vicinity as its clawed feet dug deep holes into the chest of the demoness until her own beating heart was revealed to the world. Still, the bruised, battered and wet woman did not seem to move.
"But you are me and I am you. I am the true reflection of myself. I see the self-loathing, victimization, and pity you have for yourself. I see the greatness you wish to choke out with weakness because it is easier for you to run away than to face this world, its challenges, and experiences actual hardship and pain."
At this point, the world was distorting. The rain blackened as it filled with the essence of death itself. An all too familiar scene, huh? Akin to that day where she stormed the human realm in pursuit of something so petty and trivial. That's when memories of all those in her life started flooding in. Inami questioning her ambitions to rule this kingdom, Mat trying to guide her toward the path of even understanding her own will and sense of value, the many instances of Calypso drowning in despair in trying to help that which she could not wholly understood, the shame of a family enduring the brunt of her cowardly actions; it was growing to be a sickening itch that rotted out the woman's own skin as this shadowy substance oozed from her body.
"Iota, Santa, Calypso, Vanyel, Mana, Siliva, Ulv, Inami, Arianda; I can name many people, but you know they've all been hurt by your actions and your inability to also act. You just endless seek more and more power, and for what? At least Mana can say she had a reason to save the world when she inherited it, Inami is fighting for the betterment of our kind against the nature of the chaotic rule, Siliva is liberating an entire nation..."
Then, as the child continued, her voice deepened to ask one important question:
"...and yet, what have you done with your power?"
That single question rang out as the rains eased, leaving only silence in this blackened hole as the youth gripped Algos by her throat and let the tattered black dress of the Princess flow against the breeze.
"You have a power greater than most of them combined, yet you've done nothing but squander it. What was the point of all this? Can you even tell me what is important to our heart anymore!?"
....
Still, no answer.
Irritated, the child then threw Algos down in the dirt and stomped its foot against her skull; pressing it into the mud and dirt as it groaned with disapproval.
"I won't disappear, nor will I allow you to leave until you can give me a satisfying answer. I'm tired of my essence being drowned out by your pity..."
And as the sounds of thunder once again bellowed out in the distance, the storm within The Princess's heart carried forth. Should these clouds ever cease, the heavens in this world only sought the dawn of her value. If that could not be found, then she would be powerless against her own power.
