THE INVISIBLE CRACKS
Artist: Tokyo Ghoul - Song: Glassy Sky
He'd endured a beating of large proportions at the hands of Elyss Kishimoto. He was taken to a room where his injuries could be tended to in the Kuchiki estate. A wing separate from the main section where the Head and his direct family lived. He could see a presence amidst the candlelight that entered his room. The flickering flame gave way as the door opened. His mother's visage sitting there, hidden behind a fan.
She walked forward, her attendant sitting outside the door to keep watch. As she sat down, she closed the fan revealing her face. She had pale skin like freshly fallen snow and long black hair. Her lips were painted with a medium purple lipstick. Her hair fell in long strands, and the kimono she wore was white with small patterns on it. Her hair at the tips resembled his own with mint coloring to them. His eyes and hers matched one another, giving the example of mother and son.
"It is nice to you see my son, you don't write, and it makes a mother worry." She gently picked up his hand before bringing it to rest in her lap now. Her lips and face remained stoic, keeping a smile on them that almost seemed painted on. Koyo's body felt numb with fear and trembling set in. Sweat began pouring down his body and wetting his bedsheets. His hand shook as she smiled a bit, feeling the shaking she caused.
"Oh, you are so excited to hear where you are going? Don't tremble my son, or wait, did you perhaps." She leaned forward so only he could hear her words now. "Think you had any say in what Division you went to?" A sudden sharp pain filled his body; his mother had snapped his pink finger sideways. Breaking the bone and causing him immense pain through his hand and making the desire to puke arise.
She snapped it back in place, leaving it there now as he continued to clutch his hand. His mother wasn't happy, and her dissatisfaction was to be brought out upon him. The damage from Elyss Kishimoto prevented him from resisting, not that he would if he could.
"Good boy, now about those friends you've made. I have been keeping a close eye on them; they seem nice." A threat and making sure he understood that any rebellion might affect them. Perhaps for the first time in a while, the expression of fear and desperation. He didn't want anything to happen to them, shaking his head rapidly. He'd do whatever she wanted so long as they were safe.
"Remember what I told you, we must present a constant vigil as Kuchiki to be observed." With those words, his index finger was snapped to the right breaking the bones. Causing him immense pain again through his body as she waited a moment. Putting pressure on the now broken and dislocated finger. Koyo felt the sudden shift of the finger being snapped back into the original position. His skin and body felt cold and like he could throw up.
She put his hand back and picked up her fan unfolding it. "I must see to our business; I look forward to seeing which of the honorable Divisions you join. " With those final words and the warning message sent, his mother began to rise and left his room. Sliding the door open for her was the attendant who would go with her.
Koyo was left in the darkness of his room, cradling his hand, which shook violently. His entire body did, and his heart raced quickly, going through a severe panic attack. With the start of this panic attack, his body heated up, causing sweat to pour even quicker. Koyo almost puked several times from the pain that had been caused. Not just physical but an emotional and psychological toll had been taken. He pulled his cover over his head and felt tears dripping down his chin. These weren't tears of sadness but fear. The terror alone had caused these.
He reminded himself that he was a good boy and had nothing to worry about. Just listen to mother; she knew best. That was all that mattered was that his mother knew best. His friends had to be protected, so do that listening to his mother was vital. Koyo rocked himself back and forth beneath his sheets. Continuing this for what felt like hours without end.
His mother had made it clear Elyss Kishimoto had pushed him into that. Her attendant gave him a shove. A reminder of how weak and miserable he was yet. This was understanding reached; Koyo's breathing was rapid as he tried to calm down. Ultimately he passed out and fell into a sleep from the exhaustion from his mother's visit.
