IOTA ASTHAVON
DEMON WITH A SECRET
What the fuck.
The three words that would describe Iota’s initial reaction to the Old Hell, or the First Layer.
She had only read about the place in books scattered throughout her mother’s library, with a loose recollection of the description and history behind the place but now that she was here and taking in the sight in person, it was something to behold. It was twisted, it was unnatural, it was like an appetizer to the main course meal that she was going to be indulging in for the foreseeable future. To put it bluntly, it was bleak, it was creepy, and it was something that she could not get enough of.
The crosses were probably the coolest part of the environment, the way they were placed and just ominously existed added to the general vibe that the place gave off. From the entrance of the layer she could look out over the whole place, finding small huts and settlements here and there. Previously she had heard that people called hell home outside of the guardians and the beasts that lived there, but never something of this caliber. It mainly piqued her interest as to why these people were here. Was it to dodge the influence of the royal family? Futile, as the demon god would still have an influence over them. He lives in every demon, or so she’s come to learn, except for herself and the guardians who really could be considered demons. Iota thought of them as demon-adjacent, souls from different cloth but on the same quilt. However, assuming was getting nowhere and standing around brought no progress to the making of her weapon so she proceeded through the layer.
