Blinding Sunrise [Private/Mercy] [Jenny/Santa]
Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:46 pm
ENTER THE PRINCESS OF FEAR
Artist: FrostFM - Song: A Welcoming Smile [Remix]
After the mini-vacation with her father and Celeste in Asia, where it was attacked in the middle of the night by Hubert the Asshole Space Whale. But, with some help from others who were either nearby or called onto the scene, they had managed to get through it relatively unscathed, saving as many people and as many buildings as they could.
So, Jenny had no problem running around not terribly far from where the three of them were staying in South America, waving to the people she knew and passed by, putting in a pair of earbuds, and swayed with the beat of the song. It was in the early morning, and Jenny was in a good mood, bouncing to the beat of the song she listened to, cute pink sunglasses protecting her eyes from the early morning sun.
But, there was one person that was a bit of an oddity compared to the rest. She saw someone that was there that wasn't like the others. She tilted her head to the side slightly as she paused her music. She was blonde, pretty tall, and...well, pretty. But, she stood out not for her looks, but for the less-than-obvious fact that she was spying on people.
She could sense that she was an Arrancar, but she didn't really understand why she was just randomly spying on humans. So, she'd walk up to the blonde, still with a smile on her face as she poked her side.
"Why're you standing here like a gargoyle, spying on people?"

Santa was always one to watch humans, intrigued with the strange mannerisms that they conducted themselves with. Many of them just seeming to act as if the rest of the races didn't exist. Especially in small, isolated areas. It was in this way that Santa attempted to liken herself to their mindset. She was curious after all, and she often emulated what she observed. But it wasn't often that she was called a spy.
She paused, turning and spotting one of those .... mini humans. She stared for a moment in calm silence. "What?" She responded, confusion written across her face. Spying? What was that? Was it good? Bad? It wasn't exactly a word that came up in normal everyday conversation, so she was pretty much lost as to whatever it was that this little ......thing told her she was doing.

When she approached the woman, calling her out for standing around and looking like a spying gargoyle, she wasn't expecting the response she got. It wasn't much of a response, but she certainly seemed confused. Akumu, a small, pink blob shape with a face manifested and sat on her head, peering at the Arrancar as Jenny tilted her head to the side.
"Whaddya mean 'what'? You're standing here, spying on and staring at everyone as they walk by like some kinda gargoyle on the side of the road!"
Jenny's eyes narrowed as she stood on her tiptoes, looking closely at Santa, as did Akumu, with its regular purring sounds growing just a tad bit louder as they looked at her in equal confusion.
"...Do you even know what 'spying' or 'gargoyle' means?"

Ugh, why were the small ones always like this? No conversation, not attempts at introduction. Just demanding questions. She frowned, peering a bit at the demand and the strange little thing that grew on the little one's head. Was .....was this a spiritually aware minihuman? She tensed slightly, now a little concerned. These little monsters were all kinds of unpredictable, and already she was beginning to think about distancing herself from it.
"Is there something you want?" She asked, completely ignoring the question. Howfuckingdare, acting like she was dumb! Spy was a stupid word anyway. Also the kid was some kind of weird. Their FIRST instinct to her being confused was to assume she didn't know what a word meant? Talk about a lucky guess. Unless reading minds was part of this little cretin's power. "What's your name, why are you here?" She decided to try and speak it's language by making some semidemands of her own.

Welp, she pissed off the gargoyle somewhat. Setting her earbuds in the case and tucking them in her pocket, she kept an inquisitive look on her face as the Arrancar pressed her with questions, wondering what her name was and why she was there. She tilted her head to the side in confusion.
"I'm here because I live here, silly! I wanted to listen to some music in the morning and I found you! Big, tall Arrancar lady that's staring at people!"
She stuck her tongue out at Santa, giggling softly before giving a big, wide grin as she looked up at the significantly taller Arrancar, pointing to herself with one hand, and to Akumu atop her head with the other.
"My name's Jenny! Jennifer Eve, second-most adorable human! Up here is my little companion, Akumu~!"
The little blob atop her head let out a purring noise, hopping slightly in place as Jenny brought her hands back to her sides, holding them behind her as she rocked back and forth on her heels and toes.
"So, what's your name, and what're you doin' here, staring and spying on people?"

Santa's eyes narrowed slightly as she continued to grow irate in response to the demeanor of the minihuman. Something about it she just didn't like. That smugness, that ....IGNORANCE! "I'm not spying on anyone." She growled, reaching up to poke the kid dead center in the forehead. "Don't you have anything BETTER to do than to bother me?" She asked, already starting to grow a bit more irate, enough that her concentration started to slip, and the brick, the cement, everything around her started slowly turning red with blood, a small slip, no actual growths, but she was starting to lose her focus.
"What are you even DOING waltzing up to random spirits anyway? Are you stupid? You could get hurt, what if I was a bad hollow disguised as a human?"

Giggling softly as the Arrancar poked her forehead, she stuck her tongue out at her as she did, rocking back and forth on her feet. But, the question of if she had anything better to do other than bother her made Jenny tilt her head to the side, her smile fading into a puzzled look. She had only just woken up maybe an hour or so ago, so, in reality, she didn't have much else to do other than converse and talk to people.
"Mmm...not really, nope!"
As she said that, her gaze turned to the ground, noticing the brief, subtle shift out of the corner of her eye. She didn't really know what had caused it -- likely the Arrancar's powers -- but it was interesting, as well as something to keep note of. The Arrancar then broached the topic of if she was a bad hollow, disguised as a human. She could have sworn she had heard of something similar happening in Japan, but she wasn't sure.
Nevertheless, Jenny simply smiled, offering Santa a big grin as she spoke.
"I'll be fine! If you were bad, you'd probably have tried starting to kill me by now! Even then, I can defend myself pretty well~!"
The blob slipped down from the top of her head as if reading her mind, sliding down and expanding to provide a seat for Jenny as she sat down, bouncing lightly on the seat as she tilted her head to the side.
"If you're not spying on people, then why are you just standing here, lookin' at people?"

Santa's brows furrowed ever so slightly as she stared a little at the .....strange......thing. More and more she was beginning to doubt that this thing was a human. So....if that was the case...what WAS she? Her attention shifted to the little blob and she furrowed her brows, turning her full attention to the creature. "I'm just lookin at them. Humans are.......neat." She murmured, not sure how to explain this to what she assumed was a child. She rubbed at her chin....frowning.
She was NOT equipped to handle chiltins, and she looked over her shoulder, off in the distance she saw a familiar face, that familiar short blonde crewcut. Tch. It was Xantas. She sighed, noting his little gesture to his wrist before he vanished into a descorrer. She would probably begin attracting hollows soon. She wrinkled her brow and looked back to Jenny. "You wouldn't know of anyone...super strong in the area would you?" Was that the kind of thing gremlins knew? Was worth a shot. If she could find someone strong enough, their spiritual pressure might offset the hollowbait-like aura she gave off.

Jenny didn't really have an immediate response to Santa. Well, yeah, humans like her were pretty neat and cool, but it felt like there was more to it. As the Hollow looked over her shoulder, Jenny peeked around her body to see where she was looking, tilting her head to the side as she spotted the suspicious person that she seemed to be looking at.
But, she wasn't exactly gonna start smiling and waving at the random person on the other side of the street like he was an old mate ready to get a pint with her, now was she? So, she straightened herself back up before Santa turned back around, her smile returning as she rocked back and forth on her heels. However, she smile turned to a puzzled look as she put a finger to her chin, processing Santa's question. She remembered a few really strong people from the now defunct and destroyed Monsuta, or from a previous iteration of the organization.
She remembered the name "Stefan Soan", who was the leader at one point, but last she knew, he had gone missing and she figured he either went into hiding or was dead. He was kind of a dick, so, it wouldn't be a surprise if he made a lot of enemies. Azuma was really strong too, but he self-destructed and took Brazil with him, so, he was out of the question too. She knew that she was decently strong, and her father was no slouch, but she didn't really know if Santa wanted "decently above superhuman", or "actual fucking planet buster" levels of power.
"I mean, I'm pretty strong, but I think Papa might have connections to even stronger people. What kinda 'strong' are you looking for?"
Jenny's smile returned as she briefly let out a pulse of her own spiritual power at maximum output, barely lasting more than a second before returning to a more contained state, rocking back and forth on her heels yet again as Kumu sat atop her head, purring softly.

Santa furrowed her brows, unaware of the inner machinations of the child's brain, she was left only with her own circling thoughts. Actually, what kind of strong person WAS she trying to get a hold of? She sortof only had Tier to go on and yet where exactly was she going to find an arrancar? Would she have to find a hollow and raise them to break their mask? What a conundrum.
However, that sentiment was PROMPTLY jarred by the sudden burst of spiritual power that escaped the child! And in an instant Santa hissed. "ARE YOU CRAZY?!" She looked around rapidly, and she could FEEL them in her pesquisa. The crackle of response as that pang of spiritual energy echoed throughout the area. And in the fat bland distance beyond reality, there was a dull echo. And the sky shifted. The softest groans of air prying open as hunting hollows slithered out from the veil in response to the sensation of food. Santa promptly moved beside the child and began looking around fervently, the roof around them blooming red as blood spread across it, and then flesh began to grow from it. A Garden. Slow twisting stretches of limbs and flesh and bone budding like horrible flowers along the roof as hands with eyes on them began to sprout, scanning the skeyes as she kept her own attention on her pesquisa. "Kid, do you live here?" She asked in an urgent tone. Eyes darting. One ....two. Not a ton. But there would probably be more in a bit.
