Antonio is a rather handsome man, if with rather common features. He has black hair that he lets grow about to a bit past his ears but no further. His eyes are brown and really not that special either. However, he is blessed with a handsome face, designed excellently. He’s not the most handsome man in existence, but he can turn a few heads. His body is lean and fit from centuries of training and combat, however there is one flaw on his body. On his back, is a large starburst shaped scar, a memoir from the end of his fight with Anthony.

Being a member of the Gotei 13 Antonio thus wears the standard shihakusho. The outfit that most shinigami wear that consists of a black kosode on top and a white shitagi beneath. Then the bottom is a black hakama, with a white obi sash connecting the top and bottom. On his feet he wears a pair of Tabi with the standard straw waraji. Antonio stands at 5’ 9” and weighs 158 pounds.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Personality: Antonio is a very hard working individual. He is constantly working or searching for something to do. Whether its training, missions, or just helping someone carry something. “Idle time is wasted time” is one of his favorite sayings, which he happens to be full of by the way. Oh yes, Antonio loves his sayings, and if he can’t come up with one from olden days, he’ll make one up!

Antonio worked hard and long to come up with a reason for why Rukongai was like it was. In the end he decided that Rukongai was a purgatory before an individual could again become an angel of heaven. As such he views creatures like Kin with absolutely loathing and disgust. The anti-christ or satan himself it matters not which they are. To that end he will look mercifully upon any of the lower ranking members of the Kokuryuteshi who try to repent. Knowing full well that many of them were brainwashed, and he believes firmly that that brainwashing can be reversed.

Antonio views combat as an unpleasant but necessary task. Normally he’ll try to avoid combat, trying to convince his opponent to surrender, however if forced to fight he does so very well. Like everything else Antonio works hard in training so he can work hard and effectively in combat. Antonio specializes in kidou and swordplay, having learned kidou after his defeat at the hands of a kidou user. His theory is that if he can use it, it will be harder to use it against him.

Antonio’s greatest fear is, ironically, fear. The greatest fear Antonio has is that he will become a coward or be labeled a coward. He worries that in a time of great importance he might freeze up and be unable to move, he fears that if he retreats it will be said he ran away. For that reason Antonio will almost never retreat without a direct order from a superior, or his opponent has an overwhelming level of power.

As for his brother…Antonio has a firm and unshakeable faith that Anthony was brainwashed and can thus be brought back. He is also quite sure that his brother survived that terrible battle during which the Soul King defeated Kin Iramasha. All Antonio need do is find his brother and take him back to the Gotei 13, there his brother will be freed of Kin’s influence. Well, that’s the idea at any rate.

B A C K G R O U N D

History/Background: For the first little while Antonio’s tale follows the same path as Anthony’s, the two being twins. Both Anthony and Antonio were Italian, hence their names, and they had the misfortune to born before World War 2, and in the middle of the 1920’s. Meaning, that as they grew up, they grew up in the depression. Now, most people think the depression only affected the U.S, but in fact it affected the entire world. The only place unaffected was Russia, its new communist regime keeping a policy of isolation from the rest of the world.

Now, Anthony’s family was hardly rich before the depression, and with the depression they barely had enough money to eat. In fact, many a day went by when they didn’t have anything to eat. From a very early age Antoino sought work, trying to earn money so his family could have a bit more food. He polished shoes, carried packages and parcels, and any small task he could find. Curiously, his brother never seemed to say what he did to provide money, but he always managed to provide at least as much as Antonio.

Years passed, and the family survived, they struggled, but they survived. As is the case with most times of hardship, friends and family would either be driven apart, or be cemented together. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, the hardship helped forge a steel bond of brotherly love between Anthony and Antonio. When World War 2 started, Antonio convinced his brother to leave the country with him, where they worked their way to the Allies and joined the armies there.

During the war Antonio was careful to try and keep close to his brother. He figured that the two could get more done, better, than either one could do on their own. For a time he was successful, however it would seem Antonio was the one to cause their separation, by his death. Antonio died several weeks before his brother, charging an entrenched position that was keeping his soldiers pinned down. He died, but his attack was successful despite that setback. So, he then passed on, going to Soul Society.

Now we come to Rukongai, where Antonio easily passed, here there was something confusing. Being of a catholic faith and household, Antonio had no ready explanation for what was going on. However, his faith was strong and he came to a compromise, Rukongai was a form of purgatory, and Seireitei was the true heaven. Normally he would have instantly put his mind to the task of finding a way to become a shinigami. However, he had more pressing matters, he had no idea whether his brother was alive or dead, and until he found him the shinigami and heaven could wait. He searched day in and day out, wandering all around Rukongai and asking friends and adopted family to look for Anthony. That time was hellish for Antonio, wondering whether his brother might still live for years more or perhaps had been sent to a district far from Antonio’s.

However, Antonio was able to find his brother, although he wasn’t sure whether to be happy or sad about that. Still, he and his brother were reunited and Antonio intended to make the best of it. Anthony moved in with Antonio and his adopted family there in Rukongai and things were very happy. Except…Antonio got the strange feeling that Anthony wasn’t telling him something, that Anthony was hiding something. However, before he could investigate the matter, both he and Anthony suddenly started getting hungry! Antonio was ecstatic, and quickly dragged his brother off to the academy to become shinigami!

Antonio wasn’t surprised when the two passed the academy and became shinigami. He had expected as much, himself being a hardworker and Anthony working hard, if with a little prodding. For a time things were great, then Kin Iramasha showed up, brainwashing people, and waging a war against the Soul King. At about this time, Anthony went missing, filling Antonio with worries of the worst.

During that massive battle of Soul King versus Kin, army versus army, Antonio barely stayed in one place. He was leaping around, searching for his brother. Hoping against hope that Anthony had not been brainwashed. What he found that day, would haunt him for the rest of his life…

Antonio awoke within the 4^th Division HQ of the Gotei 13, his torso was covered in bandages, and his muscles were incredibly sore. Although he wasn’t able to move for quite a while, Antonio was able to get the news, the Soul King had won, defeating and sealing Kin away! For Antonio it brought only a moderate amount of joy. For though the Soul King’s forces had won their battle, Antonio had lost his.

When Antonio was recovered he set about to doing whatever needed doing. He helped rebuild, he helped guard, he did anything and everything that was asked of him as long as he could do it. He also trained, honing and practicing his skills, waiting for the day, where he’d meet his brother again…

Zanpakutô Spirit Name: Bellator (Warrior)
Appearance: Bellator appears as a mighty warrior, seven feet in height and his body bulging with powerful muscle. He is dressed in firs, and wields a truly mighty looking great sword. His hair is brown and long and unkempt, a windswept beard covering his chin. In truth, he seems very similar to legends of the Vikings from the north.
Inner World: Bellator’s inner world, is a massive, hilly landscape, where the ground is covered equally by grass plain and sweeping forest. The true thing that draws the eye though, is the massive battle that appears to have taken place here. Some of the forests are burning, so are some of the plains. Some areas have already been burnt, and have only blackened skeletons of trees. Throughout the entire area, the ground is bloodstained and often covered in bodies. Bellator’s inner world appears as the site of some great battle.
Sealed Zanpakutô : Bellator’s sealed form is that of a longsword, the blade approximately three long, with a hand and a half hilt. The crossguard is in the standard crossbar shape for a longsword, with each side being one and a half inches long and slightly curved.

Bellator’s unsealed form is that of a powerful greatsword, fully six feet long, making it taller than Antonio himself. The blade is a single-edged weapon, with the back two inches thick, and having rounded notches along its length. The blade is formed of a shining metal, that is not evenly measured, with the blade’s width diminishing near the middle, and then widening again. The hilt accounts for one foot of the blade’s length, and appears to be made of an orange material. Strangely, the crossguard seems to be only half-finished, covering the side of the blade where there is no edge.

Shikai Abilities: Bellator is a fire based zanpakutou, and can generate a powerful black flame. To trigger this black flame Antonio says, “Exuro” which causes the blade to generate the black flame all along the length of the blade. This flame is called, Abyssus Incendia (Hell’s Fire). Abyssus Incendia is fueled by reiatsu, and can’t be put out through normal means. When it comes into contact with an object it will stick to that object until extinguished. Abyssus Incendia does not burn inanimate objects, since those objects have no inherent reiatsu, instead it merely “stands” on them, until it comes into contact with an object that does have reiatsu.

When the flames land on something with reiatsu, they began to cover it, spreading until it covers the individual’s entire body, upon which it kills them, turning them to ash. How quickly it spreads depends on how powerful the individual, how much reiatsu they have. (Under the assumption Antonio’s going to get something in the 2-?’s, I’ll change it if he gets lower or higher) Now, the depth and area of the wound increases the spread of the flame, as does additional wounds with an ignited blade. However, going under the assumption that he only ever lands one hit with Bellator ignited…

Tier5-?’s would be consumed in 4-6 posts, Tier 4-?’s in 9-11 posts, Tier 3-?’s in 14-16 posts, Tier 2-?’s in 19-21 posts, Tier 1-?’s in 40-60 posts, and Tier 0-?’s in around 400-600 posts. Remember that additional wounds with an ignited Bellator, decrease the time as more flame is put on the opponent’s body. Anywhere from decreasing it by one post, to more than half depending on how severe the wound inflicted is.

Extinguishing Abyssus Incendia is actually rather simple, you suffocate it with reiatsu. Let’s say you have a patch of Abyssus Incendia about six inches in diameter. In order to suffocate it you’d need to cover it in reiatsu. Any kind of reiatsu based attack would work, Cero, Getsuga Tenchou, various kidou. In fact, even the healing techniques can put out Abyssus Incendia because it surrounds the flames in reiatsu and suffocates them.

Naturally, this means that if you’re covered in an aura of reiatsu flames are instantly extinguished. for example Yamamoto in his shikai, he would be surrounded and covered by his own flames, which would have more than enough reiatsu to extinguish any Abyssus Incendia covering his body.

Finally, two last important details, Abyssus Incendia causes no actual physical harm until it covers the opponent’s entire body. Additionally, Bellator can only ignite Bellator once every other post.
