The Skies Clear [The Depths Stir - EVENT WRAP UP; EVERYBODY IN!] Empty The Skies Clear [The Depths Stir - EVENT WRAP UP; EVERYBODY IN!]

The monstrous creature lied limp, crumbled on the floor underneath it's bindings as it's body emptied of the malaise that infested it, spilling upon the earth around it. Any with sense would know better than to get any closer than they have, the scent of decay and anger wafting through the moist air. It's mistied eyes seemed just a bit clearer, but it's breathing was shallow, gills weakly flaring and waning.

The beast was on it's long-awaited deathbed, lying in a puddle of malice. It's drawn out torture would soon draw to a close, but for what time it had left in this life, it would grieve. It's eyes glimmered a weak ocean blue, the murky dark clouds above suddenly and swiftly releasing their cold grip on the sky, the moon hanging high above in a clear, night sky.

The twisting darkness beneath it's crumbled body would gradually cease it's angered lashing, it's darkness being nothing more than a dark film laid upon the soaked night earth. The purple growths and pustules that were on the creature's body had melted away, exposing raw, rotten flesh. The only sound that could be heard was the slow rising and falling of this grand creature as it lay slowly dying, it's paled six eyes slowly blinking and looking towards the Shinigami captain who attempted to speak to it, even it's breath sounded like it was weakening by the moment.

After a moment of silence, a voice would finally reach out through the air to any who were still aware.

...THE OUTLANDS...

Now was perhaps the clearest one could hear this being's voice being conveyed, reverberating in their skulls was a deep, ancient voice, full of tiredness and sorrow. It's eyes drew to the dry land before it, it's breathing winding into heavy sighs as it would momentarily close it's eyes.

...TO HAVE... SUCH A SELFISH DESIRE... TAKEN AND TWISTED... INTO THIS...

As if even the action of opening it's eyes grew more difficult, it's gaze looked upon those present,

...DO NOT TREAD ON MY EXCESS, YOUNGLINGS... LEST YOU BE... TAKEN AS WELL...

ENTER THE PRINCESS OF FEAR

Artist: FrostFM - Song: A Welcoming Smile [Remix]

As the skies had cleared around the city, Jenny looked into the distance at where she could see the shadow of Hubert the Space Whale in the waves, only to see it fall. Tapping into Acrophobia, Jenny lifted herself off the roof, flying over to where she saw the creature fall, landing nearby as Akumu rested on the top of her head, having changed form, shifting back into his regular state again.

The pink creatures that she had sent to help civilians had rolled onto her shoulders, but all of them were more than ready to change their shape in an instant, should conflict ensue again. Slowly, she inched closer, seeing a small group of people who seemed to have been fighting this thing, and Akumu began to softly scowl and grimace atop her head.

Right as she was going to get closer, she heard the voice of the creature reverberate through her head, causing her to instead take a couple of paces back instead of forward, shaking her head lightly. The creature didn't even look alive -- looking more like a Zombie Whale than a space one. The decay of the creature exposed rotten flesh, and Jenny had to fight everything she had in order not to vomit right then and there.

Despite everything, she still remained on-guard. The creature was dying, but she didn't know what else it could do -- and she didn't want to take any chances until it was able to be confirmed that Hubert the Zombie-Space Whale didn't pose a threat to herself, her father, or anyone else anymore.

Goddess of the Underworld

ARIANDA VAEL

The Skies Clear [The Depths Stir - EVENT WRAP UP; EVERYBODY IN!] 6EdIfMt

Artist: The Enigma TNG - Song: Insanity Syndrome - Word Count: N/A

To be able to see such a grand beast when it was whole, when it did not rot from the putrid blackness that spewed from it's dying form; it was a desire that rose from Ari as she held up the unconscious, and relatively heavy, Ulv. However, this was no place for the woman to stay. Relatively quickly, the demon created a portal, and carried herself and Ulv through it; walking straight into Ulv's room. She gently eased the woman onto her bed, made sure she had no injuries, which, of course, was quite likely she had no injuries that weren't caused by herself. Afterwards, Arianda stepped back through the portal and observed the situation.

A voice. The same that spoke earlier, in the confrontation with what appeared to be some form of primordial fish, thrummed in the base of Ari's skull; causing the woman to go on high alert for a moment. However... the voice seemed different than before; clearer. Upon looking at the fish, it was quite clear it had regained some of itself; even if it did appear to be fading by the moment. Arianda stared at it with apprehension. At least before she slowly started to walk towards it, walking upon the air, platforms of her own energy; desiring to be certain that the fish was free.

As she walked, she stayed cognoscente of the inky blackness that was covering the land; the tainted ground around the fish that seemed to have been possessing the fish previously. However, every sense in Ari's being screamed at her to stay away from the gunk; whatever it was, it was dangerous. However, Arianda still approached the fish, kneeling down towards it as she extended her left arm. She did not touch it, she did not wish to come into contact with the black gunk as much as possible. However, she did give the fish a small smile despite the gravity of the situation; despite its soon to come passing.

"Hello, Ancient One... I am sorry your fate has come to this; but worry not, we shan't let the same darkness that consumed you, consume us. But, tell me... do you have something we can call you by?"

Arianda smiled at the rotten, dying, beast. Even if it was to pass, she wished to find out what happened to it; why it was brought here. Was it's selfish desire destructive; or did it wish to see the world before perishing?

"What happened to you...?"

After Arianda spoke, she noticed the presence of those that had help evacuate civilians. No one seemed hostile... that was good. However, Arianda couldn't help but wonder what exactly was going on here; what did this to what may have once been a noble beast?

The Runaway

The Skies Clear [The Depths Stir - EVENT WRAP UP; EVERYBODY IN!] 6EdIfMt

The water had receded and the rain had stopped. Julia would have paid for some sun breaking through the clouds, but it was still in the middle of the night. Which was a fact she now began to feel, as the adrenalin wore off.

With a grumpy expression on her face she stood in the middle.of her living room. Her flat consisted of a small bedroom, a bathroom and a tiny hallway that led into the living room with an open kitchen. And the living room was quite thoroughly trashed. Judging by the water that had formed little puddles here and there on the carpet, one of the tentacles had smashed in the windows and raged in the room. So many things destroyed… of course things could be replaced. And the building still stood. It could have been way worse.
Then Julia laid eyes upon a particular heap of trash and her mood darkened considerably.

A few moments later she appeared outside on one of the roofs, where the others stood. Because she was still wet from all the rain and her mantle shredded she had grabbed the long white jacket that belonged to her Quincy attire. It was tight and body hugging at her upper body to not restrict any movement (stretch fabric did a very good job here as well). From the waist downward it was wide and flowing, parted at the front and dagged at the bag. She didn't really like it that much, but it was a good piece and she was cold. So she stood there, clad in white, with a prominent quincy cross stitched to her back. If anyone had any doubts of her being one of them, they were now eliminated.

“My coffee maker is broken.” she said, and her voice and expression were as miserable as if all the misfortune of the world had befallen her. To the very tired girl it was pretty close.

Her gaze wandered and when Julia looked down to the streets a cold feeling grabbed her that had nothing to do with the rain. It came from inside, from her heart, and she had to fight to not break into tears. So much destruction. So many deaths. The grief over her trashed flat and her coffee maker was forgotten. At least she was alive.
She raised her eyes and looked towards the coast, where the creature that had caused all this was defeated. Julia tried to muster some hatred, anger, anything that she could throw towards that creature and numb the other feelings inside her. It didn’t work. There was no point. It wouldn’t help anybody. The people were dead, homes destroyed. Hate wouldn’t bring them back. Nothing would.

“I want to see the thing.” she said to the others that were still here. Jenny had already left.

A short time later Julia arrived at the coast. It was a giant hulk, a limp mass. Everyone present was keeping a safe distance from the thing. It was surprisingly quiet now. The quiet after a great disaster, the deep breathing.
Julia looked at the thing and a hint of disgust showed on her young face. Other than that she simply looked tired. In her mind she thanked the powerful warriors that were present here. If this monster had entered the city… Once again the pictures of the destruction flashed before her inner eye.

“What is it? Where does it come from? What did it want?”

Her voice was low and she didn’t ask anyone in particular, just felt the words needed to get out.

Momo shunpo'd downwards and landed on the ground. Observing the creature as it said its final words the dripping black as she stared into it. Meeting eyes and be fully there in that moment, her nostrils are filled with the smell of blood and there is a lurching of her stomach. But she had to endure it, she saw the demon asked of the creatures existence or rather purpose for being here. The outlands? A selfish desire?

What did all this mean? Was it a warning? Was it was being controlled by someone of a higher being?

She didn't know for sure but at least it was over. Looking at the others before her she asked "Are you two okay? she said to both the quincy and small girl.

"Mhm…"

The noise Julia made was flat and sounded more like a sigh than some confirmation. It took a few moments before she could pry her eyes away from the...thing. When Jenny had called it Hubert it sounded kinda cute, a good way to avoid the horror and danger it represented. But now that she was here, now that she saw it, even if it was dying, she couldn't bring herself to use that name again.

She finally looked at the person that had asked if she was okay. It was a muppet...Shinigami-woman. It was an interesting question? Julia wondered if anyone around here was okay.

“My town was flooded, my flat trashed and the streets are littered with corpses...I’m not really sure how I am.” she said in a similarly flat tone. “But I’m alive and not hurt, if that is what you meant.”

Julia shivered a bit for a moment, until she had herself under control again. It was the exhaustion, paired with the wet clothes, she had under her coat, and the chilly night. She wrapped her arms around her and looked back at the monster. When she looked back at the Shinigami it could be seen in her face, how young she was. All the training and the small missions...it couldn’t have prepared her for a real crisis. Even when she was out there, there were always enough Quincy around her and she had never been in real danger. Now...she was living alone, on her own. And the face, that betrayed her, was the face of a 19-year old girl, who’s live was in danger for the first time and who was on the verge of being overwhelmed as she slowly realised what just had happened.

“Can you tell me what...this is? Where it came from? And...why?”

The creature's life was fading fast, whatever light it had left it in was dimming, it's eyelids half closed as it struggled to remain conscious and address the tiny beings who tried to speak to it, appearing like small smudges against a dark green terrain in it's clouding vision. Even if it could not see them well, it heard their intent loud and clear, a heaving, tired sigh leaving it's mouth as it tried to maintain focus, just long enough.. Long enough.. So it could tell and warn.

Suddenly, a strange sound would buzz at the edge of all who were present's thoughts, as though it were a sound they simply could not discern as it's own word, though their minds were at the very least given it's meaning; Shimmering Star of the New Dawn.

... THAT IS... MY NAME...

It's voice grew fuzzier and weaker by the moment as it transmitted it's intent, as if it were a radio with a slowly deteriorating signal. It's body seemed to begin to shimmer somewhat, small specks peeling off it's body and fluttering in the wind, towards the sea's horizon like leaves that had caught a spectacular ocean breeze.

... ACROSS THE WATERS... PAST THE HORIZON... A PLACE... WITH YOUNG ONES LIKE YOU... AND MORE LIKE I...

It's body was breaking down more and more, increasing in volume by the second, becoming like a fog of stars as it would then impart it's final words:

... THEY SUFFER... THE DARKNESS... WILL TAKE THEM.. IF IT IS NOT FIXED...

A heavy sigh would leave the beast's maw as it's eyes would close, the remainder of it's body shimmering and glowing as it resigned to it's fate, allowing the wind to take it's remains... Home.

A TER-RIB-LE FA-TE... FAR-EWE-LL... M-A-Y WE ME-ET AGA-IN... PER-HAPS... PL-A-Y...

And with that, the creature was gone, reduced to nothing but petals on the wind, flying across the dark seas, to the horizon...
