Vizard Template
General Information
Name: Tsukino “Mr. Sunshine” Noburo
Appearance Age: 36
True Age: 767
Gender: Male
Overall Appearance
Personality: If you were to compare Noburo’s personality to that of a psychopath you would find many similarities, you would also find many similarities if you compared him to a sociopath. You see the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath is that a psychopath is born that way, something is wrong with them from birth, a sociopath becomes that way from external factors, having nothing wrong with his brain. To be specific, Noburo is a Dyssocial Sociopath, meaning he became that way as a result of his time spent dealing with his inner hollow.
As a sociopath Noburo is cut-off from most emotions, he cannot feel regret. He is completely satisfied with his actions and the only time he looks back is to see if he could do something better, he never feels sorry for what he’s done, he never feels remorse. Indeed, he seems to lack even the basic knowledge of the rights of others, disregarding them completely. He can feel curiosity, amusement, and mild affection, but he cannot form the kind of attachments that would form a long-lasting relationship.
However, like most sociopaths and psychopaths Noburo has disguised this in a truly excellent manner. Noburo appears to be a bright, happy, incredibly optimistic man who never lets anything gets him down. To this effect he is sometimes called, “Mr. Sunshine” because he never stops smiling and being happy. However, although he’s an excellent actor many things often confuse him, for instance a question about, “How can you be so happy?” during bad situations. Honestly he would have absolutely no idea how he is supposed to respond to this as technically he’s not actually that happy, he’s just pretending to be. For this reason he also doesn’t tell jokes, as he usually doesn’t understand them and he can’t tell the difference between mild-mannered and dirty jokes due to his lack of understanding on “boundaries”.
In fact, if he accidentally makes someone mad, or sad through a train of conversation or actions (and if that is not a response he’s used to or he’s never really gone along that conversational path before), he may keep prodding them down the path to further study their reaction. Besides boundaries another thing he doesn’t understand is friendship, and love is just a complete and utter enigma. He realizes that at one point in his life he used to feel those emotions but that seems more like a dream or as if it happened to someone else, not him.
However, if there is one thing he understands it rank and combat. With ranks its simple, this and that rank is above yours, hence those of that rank can command you. These and those ranks are below you hence you can command them unless they have a command from this and that rank. Combat is also simple to him, its all a matter of strategy and powers, at least until some idiot loses morale and breaks the line! That is the one part of combat that mystifies him, the human element, the part that can cause a perfect plan to break down because one little group of ingrates got scared and broke ranks.
Appearance: Despite his Japanese name Tsukino is not of Japanese heritage, and nothing shows that off better than his appearance. First off, he’s significantly taller than most Japanese people. Secondly, his hair and eyes both stand out big time. His hair is naturally white, and his eyes are a bright vibrant blue. Also, but not making him stand out as not being Japanese, Mr. Sunshine is quite lean and muscular. Not like super-big body-builder muscle, but athletic and in shape.
Tsukino's clothing is fairly normal, really he just wears it for function and because he has to wear something. It consists of a black T-shirt worn underneath (and thus rarely seen) a green coat with tan stripes along the shoulders. With this he also wears a pair of plain black pants, and functional boots. Finally he wears black fingerless gloves with a star on the back.
Height:6’ 1”
Weight: 176 Ibs.
Zanpakuto (Sealed) Description
Zanpakuto Name: Ryuuko (Dragon and Tiger)
Zanpakuto Spirit: Ryuuko appears as a very, very large tiger, only instead of fur, it is covered in shining, reptilian scales, like those one would find on a dragon. Ryuuko is fully ten feet in length and stands at five feet tall. Ryuuko is also male, or at least that’s the impression Noburo tends to get from him. Ryuuko looks at Noburo as a kind of…caretaker, or a servant. Noburo is the means of Ryuuko using his power on those who stand against him. Strangely though, he seems to agree with whatever cause Noburo supports, kind of going against him being the master thing.
Zanpakuto World: The world inside Tsukino’s world is a massive, black void, filled with fragments of landscape and buildings. The landscape and buildings range anywhere from Roman arches, to Middle Eastern Mosques. Strangely, almost every last fragment of land and construct is not from Tsukino’s own memory. In fact, they seem to be fragments from the assorted memories of those eaten by the hollow he used to be.
Sealed Zanpakuto Appearance: In his sealed state Ryuuko appears as a katana, approximately 75 centimeters in length, with a hilt long enough for both hands to grip. The hilt is wrapped in tassels colored orange, black, and white, the colors of a tiger. The crossguard is shaped into a dragon flying around the hilt. The blade itself appears as plain, shining steel with no decoration.
Release Phrase:Kaihou Goshujin Tsume, Ryuuko (Release your claws, Ryuuko)
Zanpakotu (Shikai) Description
Shikai Appearance:
Ryuuko’s released state takes the form of a single armored gauntlet, with the fingers ending in half-inch, cat-like claws. The metal portions of the gauntlet are intricately inscribed with various patterns and diagrams, none of which seem to have any special importance. As one can tell, the gauntlet appears on Tsukino’s left hand. Additionally, there is one other strange characteristic about Ryuuko when Tsukino uses the Tora Tsume ability. Claw-like extensions of reiatsu will appear on top of the blade.
Shikai Abilities:
Tora Tsume (Tiger Claw)-Tora Tsume is the main ability of Ryuuko, and allows him to generate up to five “claws” with which to slash his opponent. The claws can reach up to 15 meters away, and how sharp they are is limited to the number of claws generated. 5 claws gives the greatest area of damage, but the claws are the weakest, at one claw Tora Tsume is at its strongest cutting ability. Tsukino can bolster the cutting ability of his claws by putting his reiatsu into it, but at the cost of having less reiatsu available for other things. Without any extra reiatsu placed into the claws, Tora Tsume has the following cutting ability at the different claws: five Claws-Cutting ability of someone at 5-1, four Claws-4-2, Three Claws-3-3, Two Claws-3-1, One claw-2-3+. Tora Tsume cannot be used to grab anything, merely slice and dice.
Shattered Cross-The second, more powerful ability of Ryuuko, Shattered Cross is less an ability and more a technique of Tora Tsume. During Shattered Cross, Tsukino attempts to grab the opponent (usually by the head) with his gauntleted hand. He then focuses all of his claws onto one point on the opponent’s body, resulting in a powerful cutting shockwave. The effect is somewhat like a giant can-opener and peels them open, it can also be used to “peel” away outer defenses, but spiritual based defenses are generally immune to this attack. (Example would be Hierro) The reason for the name Shattered cross, is that although it peels the entire body of the opponent, there’s the image of a cross engraved into their flesh deeper than the rest, as that area has more cutting force behind it. On powerful opponents or those with Hierro strong enough to resist it, it appears more like someone smacked them with a large cross, than they were cut with one.
Zanpakotu (Bankai) Description
Bankai Appearance:
Bankai Abilities:
Hollow Mask and Inner Hollow
Inner Hollow Description: Interestingly, Yomiyo doesn’t actually appear as one single being or even an altered form of Noburo himself. In actuality Yomiyo’s appearance constantly changes amongst the various souls he has consumed in his lifetime. Ranging from Middle-eastern to African to Irish and everything imbetween.
Inner Hollow Personality: Yomiyo holds Tsukino (and pretty much everything) in very low regard. He sees himself as superior and incredibly powerful. As such, a powerful being such as himself cannot be held to one simple form, but rather a multitude of them. He sees Tsukino as a rogue piece of himself that somehow gained dominance after the fight with that pesky shinigami, and would love nothing more than to crush Tsukino into the dirt.
Hollow Mask Appearance: The mask appears as a plain black oval, criss-crossed in a diamond pattern with white lines. There are no visible mouth or eye-holes, although Tsukino can see through it just fine. When Tsukino summons his mask he seems to dig his fingers into his face, which cracks as though it’s the mask, before shattering, revealing the mask underneath.
Hollow Powers:
Besides the normal gamut of hollow powers (cero and sonido) Noburo’s mask also has a couple of other abilities. The first isn’t really an ability, when Noburo dons his mask, he gains access to the memories of all the people consumed during his life as a hollow. This results in an interesting gamut of abilities, ranging from European dueling, to Chinese Kung fu, as well as less useful abilities such as singing and baking. There is a small level of skill absorption, where Tsukino gains some of the skill of those whose memories he uses, but it is small, and would take a great deal of time to truly effect his skill.
Tsukino’s second ability is called Makura (Total darkness) and most often takes the form of a sphere of black reiatsu. These Makura spheres are formed of condensed reiatsu, and have strict limitations. Each Makura sphere requires 10% of Tsukino’s hollow reiatsu, meaning he can only make up to ten. Not ten at a time but ten total, he would have to rest and recover his strength before he can make any more. These spheres are roughly six inches in diameter, no more no less. The Makura float freely and can be moved anywhere around Tsukino without him touching them. However, the Makura sphere can only be maintained when kept within three feet of Tsukino, taking it farther away will cause the reiatsu to release, occasionally resulting in an explosion. Furthurmore, Tsukino only has the ability to maintain two Makura at a time. While technically not a limitation of the Makura itself, this is more about Tsukino’s own skill level. Finaly, Noburo can only make ten Makura spheres if he doesn’t use his hollow reiatsu for anything else (cero, sonido, etc.) using those will decrease the number to of Makura’s he can depending on how much he has used. Tsukino has devised three techniques that use the Makura Sphere. However, there are a few techniques that his hollow could perform with the Makura that he has not yet discovered. The Makura being formed of reiatsu, it is thus susceptible to the rule of power. Meaning that those stronger than Tsukino would take less damage(or none at all) and those weaker would take more.
Shintou (Impact)-The Shintou technique capitalizes on the Makura spheres condensed nature. Holding it in the palm of his hand he uses a palm strike, hitting them with the Makura sphere instead of his palm. The condensed sphere of reiatsu greatly increases the force of the blow, usually sending his opponent flying. This can also be used to shatter most objects. It should be noted that Shintou does not destroy the sphere, each sphere can withstand five Shintou’s before it fades away, the reiatsu depleted.
Bakushinchi (Center of the Explosion)-The second technique has Tsukino release the Makura Sphere. Naturally in order to willingly release it he can’t send it out of the three feet as there is no guarantee it will explode in that case. Thus the Bakushinchi also damages Tsukino as well. With the Bakushinchi he releases the Makura sphere by “splitting” it right down the middle. Causing the compressed reiatsu to detonate in a powerful explosion. Any other nearby Makura spheres caught in the explosion will also detonate, amplifying the blast.
Makura Cero (Not yet approved)-Combining the Makura and the Cero, Tsukino unleashes a powerful attack of great power. To do this he positions the Makura in front of the charging cero and then fires, the makura is caught in the beam and detonates, giving the cero extra power. The resulting cero looks like a normal red cero, but with a thick black outline, caused by the releasing Makura. One should note that the Makura Cero loses power over distance. The minimum range for maintaining full power of the Makura Cero is twenty-five meters, after which it begins to lose power as the Makura reiatsu disappears. At fifty meters it only has half power, seventy-five a fourth of its power, and at 100 it only has the power of a normal cero. Contrary to what most would think, Tsukino cannot perform ten Makura Ceros, he can only perform eight. The reason for this is that the cero also uses reiatsu, meaning that it uses more than just the 10% for the Makura sphere. Furthurmore, he can only use eight if he has not used hollow reiatsu for anything else.

Background/Roleplay Sample
Background:
Tsukino’s story is a strange one that first starts in Norway, over seven and a half centuries ago. Noburo’s father was a sailor, even better he was a captain of his own ship. He sailed to and from Europe, usually carrying goods and merchants to the Orient and back, carrying European goods, or Oriental spices. He ran a successful ship and naturally wanted his son to follow him in the business. For this reason he had young Tsukino sail with him from a young age, working as part of the crew.
Back then he wasn’t anything like his current sociopathic self, back then he smiled because he was happy, actually felt sadness, fear, and hate. In the crew Tsukino worked very hard, striving to please his father and to get along with the crew. Though young the rest of the crew took a liking to him, having a fondness for his father, who was a well liked captain. A few years passed, and it looked as if the young lad was going to be a fine sailor, once he aged a bit. Then the storm hit, a terrible, furious tempest of whipping winds, stinging rain, and giant waves. The ship was unable to withstand this terrifying product of nature and was capsized, and sank beneath the waves. To this day Tsukino doesn’t know and doesn’t particularly care if anyone other than himself survived.
As luck would have it he did survive, washing up on the shores of Japan. There began his first steps on the path to his sociopathy. When he awoke Tsukino was able to find his way to a port city in Japan, and began hopelessly looking for some word of his father or the crew. Although some took pity on this poor lad, who didn’t speak Japanese, most were to busy to deal with one young orphan boy. In a situation of such isolation, he was forced to fend for himself, struggling to survive. However, all was not that bad, after a couple of years a small Japanese family took him in, saying he reminded them of their son. Something that confused him to no end as he looked nothing like the lad. Under their tutelage he learned Japanese customs, language, and other such things. Even taking a Japanese name, his memories of his father and Norway fading with time.
However, such things were not to last, for Tsukino was murdered, killed by a group of petty thieves who merely wanted the money he possessed. Such a thing did not go well for the bereaved Tsukino, who out of anger and sadness for the loss of his family remained on Earth instead of passing to Soul Society. Months passed, his soul chain slowly shortened, signaling the end of his time as a Plus. By some unfortunate twist of chance he failed to encounter a shinigami who could send him to Soul Society, and thus his chain disappeared, and he became a hollow.
Tsukino’s time as a hollow was spent as all hollows spend their time. Consuming souls, desperately trying to sate their never-ending hunger. At this point Tsukino’s progress was lost, it is impossible to say if he was never consumed, or was in fact consumed and the hollow that fought the shinigami was him or a different hollow. One thing’s for sure though, after several centuries of eating, during which time Tsukino (or the hollow that ate hollow Tsukino) ate many souls, including a couple of shinigami, and eventually encountered a shinigami that defeated him.
However, the purification didn’t quite work right. As one can discover by simply looking at nature absolutely nothing is perfect, not a single thing. Naturally, this would go to include the purification of a hollow after being defeated by a shinigami. Now comes the ever so important question of, why? Why didn’t the purification work properly? The answer is simple, during the fight with the hollow, the shinigami’s zanpakutou was damaged, as seen by a series of cracks that spread along the length of the blade. Although he still killed the hollow with this zanpakutou, due to its damaged state it was unable to purify the hollow completely, and so comes the main reason for Tsukino’s sociopathy.
You see, instead of purifying the entire hollow, it only purified part of it, and didn’t separate all the souls inside the hollow. Resulting in Tsukino awakening in Soul Society, still very much powerful, and very confused. Naturally already having a great deal of power Tsukino awoke to find himself holding a katana, and that the people around him couldn’t approach without collapsing. Furthurmore, he was tormented by a strange spectre in the back of his head, trying to sieze control of his body. It was frightening and confusing, he didn’t even know where he was, what this place was called. He had the bad luck to be sent to rukongai district 74 and thus he encountered no shinigami.
The pressure of holding off his inner hollow, and the fact that none of the normal denizens could approach him because of his reiatsu was enough to push him over the edge. He became a sociopath, at the time he had not yet crafted his Mr. Sunshine persona, but he did start. Mr. Sunshine appeared after his inner hollow finally forced a confrontation. The ensuing battle was difficult, a good portion of Takashi’s power was unavailable as he didn’t know his zanpakutou’s name, didn’t even know that his zanpakutou was anything other than a sword. However, and here’s the incredible part, Takashi defeated his inner hollow. He didn’t even know about Ryuuko, but he still won.
To Yomiyo it was a horrible insult, to Noburo it was merely the way of things. If the confrontation had happened a year or so earlier he might have avoided sociopathy altogether, but it didn’t. Now that the inner hollow was gone Takashi gained more control of things, and also gained access to the memories of Yomiyo’s various souls when the mask was on. Things improved, he gained a limited control of his reiatsu and was able to speak with others. People began getting a bit creeped out by his personality, so he crafted, “Mr. Sunshine” to keep people at ease.
Decades passed, he remained hidden, having gained a better control of his reiatsu. The inner world of his zanpakutou was his bastion, a place he went to frequently to practice new techniques, or work on things, or just think. Eventually he encountered Ryuuko, at the time he had no idea what the strange tiger’s name was. A few years passed and he considered Ryuuko just a natural denizen of this strange place, never bothering to inquire after Ryuuko’s name as Ryuuko himself said that he could not tell Tsukino.
Ironically, it was only thanks to Yomiyo that Noburo ever discovered Ryuuko’s name. You see, since Mr. Sunshine spent so much time in the inner world, Yomiyo saw him very often, but he was careful to make sure Noburo didn’t see him. The inner hollow still seethed from his defeat by Noburo, and planned to destroy him, he planned an ambush. Again he attacked Noburo coming quickly and silently. In the ensuing battle, and under Ryuuko’s encouragement, Tsukino spoke his zanpakutou’s name for the first time. The battle changed from a slightly evenly matched, to a slaughter. Now with more of his power available Tsukino crushed Yomiyo…again.
That little event happened about three hundred years ago, and time passed quickly after that. Mr. Sunshine, being sociopathic, wasn’t very social (pardon the pun) and thus paid little attention to the world at large. So, he doesn’t know much about bankai, or resureccion, or any of that. However, with the events going on even he couldn’t help but hear this and that, so maybe he’ll step up and decide to play a role after all...
Role Play Sample:
conversation/important events sample
"How can you still smile surrounded by so much death?"
Tsukino listened to the woman quietly, a very sincere looking smile on his face. He considered the question, standing amidst the bloodstained field where so recently a battle had taken place. It was a fair question, or at least he thought it was a fair question. Such things tended to be beyond his understanding. Supposedly most people were supposed to be saddened or sickened by the sight of a fresh battlefield, where the battle had only recently ended. Actually, maybe they were supposed to be both saddened and sickened by the sight? Ah well, the female shinigami was likely waiting for an answer.
"I'm not really sure." Takashi replied, actually telling the truth for once, his voice bright and cheerful. "I guess blood and death just don't really faze me!" He said, smiling widely, rubbing the back of his head, "Sorry about that."
Combat Sample
Tsukino watched as his opponent nimbly rolled the left, avoiding the fired cero. His mind raced, remaining calm despite the speed, anger wasn't something a sociopath could feel. So far this battle was going fairly evenly, but the vizard was under no illusions. His mask was going to shatter soon, and when that happened this battle was going to turn around very, very quickly. He didn't intend to let that happen.
His opponent was rushing forward, going for a powerful, killing thrust. Likely they realized that all they had to do was wait for his mask to shatter, there didn't seem to be any other reason for this painfully simple attack...however. The blade rammed into Mr. Sunshine's body, grinning although it couldn't be seen beneath his mask. He had sidestepped just enough to keep the blow from being fatal, the blade piercing his side. Attempting to grab the sword with one hand, Noburo would bring his face close to his enemies. A cero would form around the mask, right where a normal mouth would be. Then the second piece to this attack would come floating up from the ground to hover between the charging cero and his opponent...a Makura sphere, his sixth, and final, one. The pieces were arranged for the creation of his powerful Makura Cero technique. The next and final step was simple, he fired the cero.
