THE XENO HOLLOWS OF PLATINUM HEARTS

Over the past 400 years the universe has seen a vast amount of improvement and evolution as humanity strove to reach higher and higher. This was no exception for the Hollow race as their leaders took measures to make sure they were always on par with the competition.

Hollows would be pit against each other in a brutal fashion as Arrancar watched over them. How do they fight? What do they aim for? What happens when they are losing? is one breed outright stronger than another? this research became the basis for a project the Cero Espada at the time was the lead scientist of.

This woman, alongside other bright Arrancar minds, devised a tool. An upgrade. Built directly into the body of a Hollow with direct links to the Hollows mask and their bloodstream. In essence, this machine was created to bring out a Hollows instincts.

After more testing, the Hollows upgraded with this machination began to fight with more ferocity. They were unrelenting and only backed down when they were truly killed. Pleased with this boost in combat prowess, the Dues Ex Machina as it was named was dispatched and installed into thousands of Hollows.

Over time however, these Hollows began to show more and more symptoms of mechanical interferance as they grew. Some had adapted and their bodies were developing steel-like skin. Their Masks became even harder to break and the old breeds of Hollows seemed to fall further and further away from their mechanized abomination cousins.

Once these Hollows had grown to the peak of their evolution, they showed incredible signs of adaptation and growth. Some are recorded to have understood Human weaponry and combined this knowledge with their abilities to create actual missiles that could shoot from large pores on their bodies. Others breathed flamethrower-like breath as their veins pulsed on the surface of their skin with energy.

The Hollow Race had truly evolved, yet still had no true mind of their own. A force to be reckoned but also controlled.

Racial Abilities

Hard as Steel: A Dues Hollow's skin becomes more metallic and much harder to pierce. This allows most Dues Hollows to withstand much more damage than a standard Hollow would be capable of taking. This includes their mask.

Imitation: A Dues Hollow may be unable to think for themselves but they are capable of learning. A Dues Hollow is able to mimic the properties of another race's technology be it weapons, armour, vehicles etc. This process of evolution takes several months of hibernation after several months of being exposed to said technology, but can make every Dues Hollow appear very different to one another and be able to fight in unique ways. Some Dues Hollows may adapt blades for arms, fire breath, launch explosive projectiles and some may even use optic camoflague to vanish from sight.

Permanent Mask: Dues Hollow have been found to not be able to remove their masks as their Dues Ex Machina is too embedded into their system. This means a Dues Arrancar is 99% impossible without incredible aid from a top scientist.

Insurmountable Growth: Even though a Dues Hollow may not remove it's mask, they are not as limited in growth as a standard Hollow. The Highest tier a Dues Hollow can reach is 0-5.
