ULV AUBER| WHITE MASK BUDDHA
There was an auction going on in Saburo City, one of exclusive clientele and apparently high class gear being sold. Though the thugs and scum of Saburo were dissuaded by the guards at the door, packing mil-spec armour and weaponry, like they were some private military contractors. Which was not far from the truth at all. Unfortunately, for them and the arriving Kamui, the two guards outside the entrance were both dead. Their body armour has been smashed in with enough force to crush their chests and leave them to choke to death. Whoever had done them in was one of a vicious streak indeed.
Going inside, revealed much more of a bloodbath than outside. The guards - of a much higher density as the venue provided security and the patrons had brought their own bodyguards to boot - were laying about the place. Some in less pieces than they had woke up in, many with body parts hanging out, and one seemingly untouched, no sign of violence and only dried froth across his mouth. Blood splattered across the walls, which had been broken in by some incredible force as guards were tossed through them, and all about the place was killing field.
And then to break the errie silence was a giant of a man smashing through the floor. For a second it seemed like he had broken through himself - and with the size and muscle mass of him, it was certainly possible - but then he crashed into the celling and fell to the floor, a bloody, broken lump. Rising out of the hole on a gust of wind, was a blood-soaked woman, her eyes bright gold, with black sclera, and the very essence of murder radiating off her like heat in summer.
"I'm getting sick of you lot, to be honest. You are like roaches. No matter-" |
"Kamui. Hmm. You-" |
"Oscura" |
The man and half the building were thoroughly obliterated by Ulv's superpowered Cero, and then she turned back to the man at the door. Her eyes were terrifying things, and not just because of the unnatural colouring. Ulv's emotions were unveiled, and their scale was rivalled only by depth of such fury.
"I am not a fan of meeting people I like in such a state. Allow me to apologise" |
She nodded, and the blade wound in her side made a sucking squelch and closed up, being replaced with scabbing scar tissue.

He'd have been lying if he said he expected to find no resistance or trouble when it came to searching for an artifact in the middle of Saburo. For starters, the artifact's signature appeared suddenly and apropos of nothing whatsoever and it appeared in the middle of a Japanese city. All signs pointed to it being a trap, but Kamui could not for the life of him figure out who could possibly be laying the trap for him. Only two people knew what he was looking for and one of them only vaguely at that and it made no sense for either of them to move against him, not this early at least. So when he sensed multiple energy signatures at the location he was looking for, one of which he recognized, he was not surprised. He was surprised when that total started rapidly declining.
Kamui's appearance in the door frame was hurried, and it only hastened further when the events unfolded before him. This was the only sign of life in the building aside from himself, his acquaintance, and her soon to be hapless victim. Her pausing to acknowledge Kamui was probably the only thing that saved the idiot's life. As the bladed weapon connected with her, Kamui was on the move, dashing across the room at a speed he hadn't showcased at their last meeting and leaving small trails of seemingly black mist in his wake, appeared before Ulv as her Oscura was let loose, straight in to Kamui's palm. There seemed to be a moment's delay where the world stood still, Ulv's finger pressing straight against Kamui's palm. The energy for her Oscura was still pouring out, anyone even remotely aware would be able to feel it...but it just seemed to vanish into thin air. Naught but a dark light before vanishing into Kamui's palm. The man raised his hand to the sky and, out of his opposite palm, erupted the Oscura. The hum of her pure energy radiated through the building once again as the energy blasted up and outward, relieving the building of most of its roof before being shot harmlessly into the sky above them, sparing one wall for another.
"Are you fucking insane? You've never been more beautiful but are you actually firing that thing off here AND at ground level? We're in the middle of the town square, do you know how many people you could have killed?"
Of course, Kamui only cared about the one, who had just finished closing the distance between them when something that could only be called "a shadow" seemed to snake up from Kamui and in a tendril that most definitely did not look corporeal seemed to reach up and smack the thug across the face, knocking him through the air and into a nearby wall. Unconscious, but hopefully not dead. He knew it was Ulv, not that much had changed, and it wasn't a lie either. This side of her, this unbridled anger and power...was infinitely more attractive to Kamui than the playful version he met prior. The lupine mask even did a little something for him as well. The man pulled his hand away from her finger and brought it down to his side. The power though was irritating. This woman was an absolute monster. Even with completely displacing that Cero his hand still felt like it had been set on fire. It was so fucking annoying how much she reminded him of Sagumi.
He didn't care if she leveled half the city to kill this one idiot once he no longer needed him, but as far as Ulv knew Kamui was still an upstanding, slightly perverted, slightly snarky citizen who was just looking for his dad's stuff. It stayed true to his cultivated persona. He had recoiled from her, but he was still tensed in case she made a move on him or her unconscious would be victim. Playing the role of an overmatched good Samaritan "standing up for what was right" rather well and adding just the right tinge of fear. It wasn't difficult to do, Kamui was afraid, this woman was stronger than he was head to head for sure and he did not have nearly the prep he'd need to handle someone like this. Not to mention he'd might need to fight her while protecting the sole witness that could tell him where his father's signature went...assuming Ulv didn't already destroy it.
