Night in Shining Armor [TRAINING, OPEN]
Fri Mar 29, 2019 10:45 am
Continuing the pathing from his conversation with his spirit and now known hollow, Mitsuyo's mind swirled with options to his next step. How would he tackle this beast inside of him? Why would Sumire keep her under her care instead of telling him about it? What does that mean for him, if the hollow so easily brought Sumire to submission before he could? And the more pressing question, which was not the question he should have focused on by any means, the ability that Akane used, was that his shikai?"
His thoughts for Sumire continued to spiral away as now, his interactions with her became less about trying to sweet talk her, and became more direct. The hollow, Akane, was more readily available to step up for him within the seconds of them meeting one another. Yet as he looked to Sumire, she had been taking him through loops that made him feel like he was wasting his time trying to achieve. He had spent years, decades, centuries now with Sumire, and Akane showed him power that he had never seen before, while with Sumire, he barely knew what she could do. He knew she was based around light, he knew the core principle of Sumire, but she never showcased anything that made him feel impressed by her.
After seeing Akane's display towards him, Mitsuyo's demeanor to Sumire became less of a best friend, and more of just another pretty face. He care ever so slightly at this moment, fuming with a silent rage as he reassessed the situation. His prerogative only being to get to that power, and if Sumire had it, this was her chance to show him what she could do, or simply move on to being more friendly with Akane than to Sumire.
"Good... So that means we can get to work...", he spoke sullenly, as he continued his conversation with Sumire. His attitude shifting dramatically from his nonchalant demeanor, to being a lot more serious and direct with her. As she continued to stroll, the plains of the forest were clear enough so that he could walk forward for quite sometime without running into anything. Using this timing, he closed his eyes and submerged himself into Sumire's world, so that he could talk face-to-face with her.
"I am... I do not quite understand what you mean by that statement." She spoke, feeling the weight of his presence and sounding confused, and almost scared by him. This was not the Mitsuyo she knew of, but she hoped that through talking to him she would be able to calm him down.
"Look, you saw what she can do... I saw what she can do... and I don't want that to happen again..." He took a pause, then sunk inwards to himself, folding his arms as he stood firm on his statements. "You need to be stronger... I... need to be stronger. And I'm not letting that thing break our bond."
"Mitsuyo---"
"No. Don't "Mitsuyo" me, alright?... we have a job to do..." He whipped his arms downward in dismay, then glared sullenly towards Sumire as he tried to hold back his tonality towards her.
"I am not sure... I do not believe you are at the--", She coasted towards Mitsuyo and placed her hands on his shoulders, trying her best to comfort him again. She smiled lightly, and then stroked through his hair thinking it would calm him down. But as soon as she started to touch his hair, he smacked her hand away and nudged the hand off of his shoulder.
"The hell?! I know your name, I know what you do, I know your power, and I'm getting blinded every 10 seconds when a fly hits my sword the wrong way! Do you want this thing to destroy you?! Do you want it to destroy me?! Us?! The world?! Tell me, at what time do you think "I'm going to be ready" because obviously, we are in quite the time crunch here!" He lashed out, turning away from Sumire as he planned on leaving the world in that very moment, but he calmed his anger for a slight moment to speak again. "*sigh*... Sorry... Just... I don't want to see that again... alright?"
Sumire's face was frozen from how he was reacting. This was the first time in quite a while that Mitsuyo had moved away from her. He had never seen him fueled with so much hostility and didn't know what to do. She continued to step forward, hoping that the burst of his yelling let out enough of his anger to calm him down. She stepped forwards once more, placing her hands on his tensed shoulders in an effort to again calm him down as she spoke, "I was handling her well on my own Mitsuyo..."
"No, Sumire. No, you weren't." He rebuttaled, keeping her hands on his shoulders but not looking to her in anyway. In fact he continued to look outward and saw the red cluster of light that was adjacent to her own light cluster."...And until I get some better control on you, that thing is going to keep getting worse and worse..." His vision shifted to the trails of red light that seemed to connect to the back end of Sumire's own cluster of light, as if the strength of Sumire was being drained into this sea of red. He then turned to face Sumire and sighed once more. "Now look. We can do this the slow way, ensuring that this whole thing, is all for nothing. Or.. we can get this warmed up now, that way at least... I don't know."
And there it was, the stubbornness that Sumire tried to push back for years as she was along side of him. She thought he was managing it better, but she understood why it started to come out, with the pressure of meeting a captain and having nothing of merit to really say which caused him to feel embarrassed. Then a fight with a child that was smarter and more tactful than him, creating jealously and more embarrassment to quell within him. The anger from being removed from a city entirely, and now having a hollow taking in all of those emotions and using them against him, it was no wonder for him to feel tense. But rather than letting it all go and having Sumire deal with it, as she had been, he shut her out, and let the hollow take care of those thoughts... Now his anger is from the hollow seperating the two of them, and rather than making it something of his own vocation, he's taking all of it out on the one figure than helped him the most. She took all of this data in and then spoke her piece to him, hoping to get some type of sense knocked into him.
"At least what Mitsuyo? What would be the achievement for pushing at something you are not of the capacity to handle at this moment? You would be straining your body, that is already in trauma from interacting with her, and straining myself, who has been the neighboring force to her for centuries. I understand you want to move forward... but it's not the time for that...Please Mitsuyo..."
"Sumire..." He turned around to her fully and smiled softly as he took her hands into his. He understood her words, but he was ready to leave once he said his piece and simply tuned a lot of her replies out of his process.
"Yes?", She spoke clueless to his main condition of speaking, on hopes that this was him turning a new leaf and taking his time. He then leaned to Sumire and softly kissed her cheek as he faded out of the world. He then opened his eyes into reality and noticed he was still in fairly open fields. The soft smile he created in the world, immediately dropped into a neutral face as she spook seriously and nonchalant as his demeanor would suggest.
"...Illuminate." he spoke in a cold tone, and then began to force Sumire into releasing herself. Unfortunately the display of power was not much. All that occurred was a large flash of light around his body, erupting a pillar taller than most of the trees in the area and with him at the bottom of it all, as three orbs of cool white light orbited around his waist. "I would have to do it anyway, Sumire..." He spoke externally as the light pillar slowed down just enough to see him more defined within it all. When this occurred his clothing's color changed to represent reflective clothing, it was a weird silver color, but because of the colors around him, it had looked more of a mint green due to the leaves of trees and the grass underneath him rebounding it's colors off of him. The only thing that stayed consistent in his appearance was his tan skin and his all black hair. His sword turned into a longer blade made of the same refractive material, though as he looked at it it began to split apart in front of him and form two more orbs of light, causing 5 light clusters to orbit around his body. "...the Hell is this...?"
