I. Personality Traits
» Personality:
Shaggy used to be timid and meek. He was not someone to stand up for himself, or for others. He preferred to keep to himself, and wanted others to do the same. He was lazy, foolish, and a slob. Then everything changed. He is now as described below.
Confident - Although he used to be afraid, Shaggy has grown in many ways. He is stronger than he was, both physically and mentally. He believes in his own ability, and does not ever feel at a disadvantage.
Courageous - Shaggy stands up for what he believes in, and will not hesitate to help those who are less able to defend themselves. He will put his life on the line at any time, either to pursue the only goal he has left, or to help those in need.
Driven - The Shaggster is a man possessed. He has only one goal in this world, and he will stop at nothing to achieve it. To that end he has spent countless hours, unimaginable effort, and as much blood, sweat, and tears as he physically could without dying from dehydration. He will attain it, or he will die trying. That second bit is unlikely though.
Humble - Even though he has attained immense power at this point in time, Shaggy does not flaunt that power. He uses it only when he must, and does not gloat when he bests his opponent. He sees his power as the means to an end, it does not define him.
Kind - Shaggy is a kind man. He does what he is able to help those in need, and volunteers his own time to better the conditions of those around him. He is the change he wants to see in the world.
Optimistic - Even though he's lost everything The Shaggster still has a positive outlook on life. He truly believes that one day everyone on earth will be able to have a better life, to live in harmony, and to treat each other as they should. He works to make this a reality every day of his life.
Open-minded - Shaggy does not discriminate against others based on their religion, their race, their culture, their background, or their familial ties. He judges the character of a person based solely on their actions and voluntary affiliations.
» Likes: Eating, Marijuana, Chilling.
» Dislikes: ShadowFall, Those who wear masks.
I. Character History
» History
Norville "Shaggy" Rogers was born to two unassuming parents. They cared for him, raised him well, and tried to instill discipline into him. Even though they were excellent parents he didn't take to heart many of the lessons they tried to teach him, and this eventually led to their relationship becoming strained. After a time, Shaggy decided it would be best if he took his dog, Scoob, who just so happened to be his best friend, and made a life for himself elsewhere. The Shaggster and Scoob traveled around the world for about a year before the news came in. Their hometown, Coolsville, had been destroyed by ShadowFall operatives. Shaggy was devastated by this news, and immediately began to make his way back home to find out what had become of his parents. It took him about a week to travel.
When he arrived the entire town was in ruins. He walked the streets, as he had so often done in his youth, but there was a very different feeling to the place now. He couldn't keep the tears from flowing down his face as he saw everything he'd ever loved burned to the ground. When he finally reached his old home there was nothing left of it. He dug through the rubble frantically, in search of anything that could tell him more. A letter, a souvenir, a clue perhaps. What he did uncover horrified him though. The bodies of his parents still lay there, burnt to a crisp, almost unrecognizable. The only way he was certain was the fact that his father's police badge had remained at least somewhat intact. Scoob whined, and The Shaggster fell to his knees, raised his arms to the sky, and screamed. That hadn't been the best idea.
Unbeknownst to Shaggy, a few ShadowFall operatives had still been lurking around the town. His scream had alerted the nearest one of his presence, and within seconds the fiend appeared before him. Shaggy tried to step back, but he stumbled, falling flat on his ass. Scoob stood in front of him, growling, but the ShadowFall operative was not concerned in the least with the Great Dane. He stepped forward, towards The Shaggster, and Scoob began to growl, a low pitched, violent rumble. The operative, with no effort whatsoever, lashed out at Scoob, connecting with a backhand to his head. This immediately broke Scoob's neck, and his whimpers died out quickly, and shortly afterwards Scoob followed suit.
At that moment something snapped within The Shaggster. His parents were gone. His dog was gone. His town, all of his old friends, everyone he'd known growing up. All dead. Normally he would have tried to run. He would have been scared half to death, sure that he was next. But that was the old him. When Scoob died so did the Shaggy that everyone knew. The time for fear was over. The time for cowardice was over. No, he wouldn't run. He planted his right hand on the ground and began to lift himself up agonizingly slowly. Something within him had been awakened. Something unnatural. He'd always known that power resided within himself, but he had never been in the correct mental state to access it. That all changed today. As he stood the atmosphere around them changed drastically. The ShadowFall operative, unsure of what was happening, took a step back. In that single instant of doubt he'd sealed his fate. Immediately The Shaggster was behind him, foot extended. The operative tripped, fell to the ground hard. Shaggy wasted no time. Before the operative could blink Shaggy was on top of him, pummeling him senseless. With every punch his power grew stronger. Even the first few were enough to break bones, but soon it was far worse than that. A few seconds after he'd awakened his power for the first time The Shaggster was punching clean through the body of the ShadowFall operative, into the concrete foundation that had been beneath his house. He felt nothing.
As he continued to pound away the concrete began to turn to dust. With each new punch a loud pounding reverberated through the air. He was channeling the energy he had into his fists, that much he could tell, but he knew that he was doing so incredibly inefficiently. Still, it didn't seem to matter. He kept punching the operative, who had long since died. Soon the entire foundation around them had been worn away to nothing, and with every punch The Shaggster was forcing them deeper and deeper into the crust of the earth. Dust began to gather around them, but Shaggy kept going. When the very ground around him began to vibrate violently with each punch he finally gained control of himself, and when the dust finally cleared... there was nothing to see but a crater.
The Shaggster dug through the rubble once more, evacuating the bodies of his parents and his best friend Scoob. He gave them a proper burial, and then he was finally able to mourn their passing fully. Shaggy sat there for many hours, wondering what he would do now. Even though he'd just awakened this power he knew he would never be the same. He could even sense that his personality was irrevocably altered. In the end, he knew what he had to do. The reason this had all happened, the reason most things like this happened. It was all because of ShadowFall. If ShadowFall hadn't been allowed to fester his parents would still be here. Scoob would still be here. Norville Rogers would still be here. But Norville Rogers is dead, and Shaggy is all that remains. He stood, glanced down at the place he'd buried his family one last time, and then he turned his back and slowly walked away.
He knew that he'd have to refine his abilities if he were to take on the entirety of ShadowFall, but he wasn't quite sure how to do that. In the end, he decided that he would go into isolation for a year, and that when he reemerged into society once more he would pursue his ultimate goal, ready or not. He walked to a mountain that stood several hours away from his old home. It was a place his parent had taken him many times when he was young, and he had many great memories of the place. He and Scoob had run through these woods many a time before they'd left home. He took no tools with him. He'd have to everything he'd need to by hand, or else go without. The first few days were by far the hardest, as he still hadn't figured out how to access his power at will, but he was learning quickly. He wasn't able to catch anything more substantial that a few small fish to eat, but he made due. He found a cave where he could take shelter from the elements, and crafted himself a bed of leaves.
For the next year, every day of The Shaggster's life was spent in pursuit of understanding and developing his power. He trained his speed and his strength, his dexterity, his precision, his flexibility, and his battle sense. By living this lifestyle, coupled with meditation, he was able to fully understand and tap into his power at any time. He tested his speed against the deer that ran by, his strength against the bears and the moose, his reflexes against the snakes. After only a month none of them proved to be a challenge at all anymore, and he relied on more esoteric exercises. He punched the wall of his cave, creating a larger living quarters. He raced around the mountain at break neck speeds, able to make his way around the entirety of it several times within only an hour. All of this he did by understanding the power that resided inside of himself, and within the first two and a half months. By the end of the year he could travel around the mountain several times within just a second. He could eat like a king, collecting anything he wanted within the same time frame. In fact, by this point he couldn't come up with anything that actually proved to be a challenge. On his last day he turned to the mountain that was the last thing which reminded him of his previous life. Focusing only a portion of his energy into his right fist he punched it once. The mountain shattered into dust, and The Shaggster turned his back on the forest, once more making his way towards civilization. ShadowFall would know fear. He would make sure of it, even if it was the last thing he did. He didn't expect it would be.
I. Equipment
» Equipment:
None. He doesn't need it.
I. Natural Abilities & Skills
» Skills:
Battle Prowess- The Shaggster understands combat like no other at this point. Every movement, every feint, every attack, he doesn't even need to analyze it, he simply reacts. This comes from the many hours of training and battle meditation he's undergone, but it is exponentially enhanced by his inner power. This is his calling. It is what he was meant to do.
Reflexes- Shaggy has some of the greatest reflexes ever seen on this earth. This plays into his immense battle sense. One gives him the knowledge he requires to act, the other gives him the speed.
Strength- One of his primary attributes is the immense, overpowering, destructive force that emanates from his fists. With a single blow The Shaggster can obliterate mountains, cause entire tectonic plates to shudder, and fell even the most durable of opponents. This effect is compounded when he fully released the beast that resides within him.
Speed- Shaggy is a quick boy. He's always been unnaturally fast, able to run right alongside Scoob, a Great Dane who topped out at 40 miles per hour, and that was before he'd awoken his power. In fact, speed is probably his greatest asset.
Durability- More often than not, The Shaggster would prefer not to rely on his durability. He sees dodging and countering as the superior option, but that's not to say that in a pinch he can't do so. He's trained his body to take all sorts of punishment, from wild animals as well as huge, crushing boulders.
Energy- Shaggy's energy is off the charts. It's what gives him the ability to accomplish all of the things he has, by channeling it into his body in the form of augmentation. He's grown incredibly adept at this, and over time his energy has grown even greater. At this point his energy rivals even the greatest levels that have been felt in recent memory.
I. Other Supernatural Abilities
» Powers:
The Shaggster's power is simple. He augments his body, plain and simple. Depending on how much he focuses he can raise his natural abilities exponentially. This is the only thing he's able to do, in this state or any, but it should not be underestimated. The amount at which he's able to increase his physical prowess is quite absurd.
I. Sacred Release
» Sacred Release Appearance:
» Sacred Release Powers:
While in this form Shaggy's already immense amplification of his physical abilities is taken to a whole new level. With the upper limits of this he can easily cross small countries in a matter of seconds with his speed, and with his strength he could reduce them to dust with only two punches.
I. Ascended Sacred State
» Ascended Sacred State Appearance:
» Ascended Sacred State Powers:
This is the final, and true form of The Shaggster's unimaginable potential. While in this form he is so much stronger than in his normal release that he hasn't even been able to test out its true capabilities yet. Needless to say, you don't want to be there when he does.
