I. Basic Information

» Name: Sou Yuuki
» Titles: A title that he so rightfully claimed; the Nightmare
» Age: 19 years old at the time of death, 24 years old after he was revived by Liu
» Gender: Male

» Affiliation/Rank: Sou has absolutely no affiliation with anyone but considering his interactions in the past, he may as well be considered as an enemy against everyone he has ever met.

» Physical Appearance Description: Despite the years that has passed by in Hell since his death, his appearance appears mostly unchanged.

Sou's physique remained unchanged, a slender body with a slight muscular stature that doesn't stand out too much about him being "packed with muscles". His height and weight also still remained the same, staying at 6'6" and still retaining his immeasurable weight due to his capability to manipulate his own physical strength at will. Its still a mystery as of how he wouldn't leave traces of his footsteps crushed under his weight, capable of moving like a normal human being and have internal parts that is no different from a human.

His long stay in Hell has made an impact on how he visually expresses himself. His face expresses a more calm demeanor which is rather different from his usual intimidating and aggressive visual presence that he used to express back then which says wonders about how time can slowly change an individual.

His eyes went through a minor change as well. With almost 5 years of peace and no interaction with other beings, his eye color has visibly diminished from crimson red into a dark shade of red. No longer a fierce, glowing crimson red eyes that he has that provoked his enemies but a calm, dark shade of red that doesn't scream recklessness but focus.

Sou's hair still remained its crimson red color, if not, slightly faded away from a pure crimson red color. The fact that he is still human does not change and the lack of exposure to natural sunlight caused his hair to lose its natural red color. His hair has also grown considerably, growing a few inches longer than what he used to have before he went to Hell but kept it well-groomed enough that it doesn't look unsightly.

Clothing-wise, Sou never seems to change from his select few clothing. He wears either a bartender-like clothes - a white t-shirt, a black coat that goes over it and grey pants with a brown leather belt, or a black t-shirt, a pair of black gloves and a simple pair of grey combat pants. Though, his selection of clothes has expanded from wearing a normal bartender's clothes since.

His equipment also stands out as part of his appearance; a reminder of his fight against Shadin back in Australia War. An appearance of a hospital's typical underarm crutch that he leans against under his right shoulder and a grey, rectangular-boxed device strapped to his right wrist with a few wires extending directly into his wrist. While they don't look like much, these equipment that he holds are devices that he modified specially for himself to use and is special to his existence.

I. Personality Traits

» Personality:

› Destructive: A trait of his that never disappears even after 5 years, Sou still retains his destructive personality but somehow, more tamed. His destructive tendencies used to be driven by his lust to obliterate anything and everything, and to find amusement in fighting but now, the only reason why he exhibits destructive behavior is simply because he doesn't care anymore. While he still seeks for excitement in battle, it is no longer his reason to go on a rampage.

His destructive tendencies now comes from his ignorance to casualties, not caring about the consequences of who he harms or what he destroys; he does it because he simply wants to. Sou has also stopped consciously restricting his physical strength, as the reason he did it back then was not to attract any attention to himself but now, with those shackles that he put on himself gone, he becomes relentless against anyone that wants to bring harm to him and wouldn't mind causing mass destruction if it becomes necessary.

Otherwise, compared to the days before he came to Hell 5 years ago, Sou has become considerably more tamed and peaceful, refraining himself from causing havoc if there is no necessity or benefit in doing it.

› Calm: A personality that has surfaced after being in Hell for almost 5 years. After exposing himself to violence for a long time, experienced death and somehow ended up in Hell alone with his humanity intact, he had a long time to contemplate and reflect on what went wrong with him in the past. Those 5 years of peace had changed part of Sou's personality, unlike his aggressiveness from before, he is capable of keeping his mental state in check, make calm observations to help him make proper decisions and make split-second decisions if needed.

His manner of speech became a bit more formal although his tendency to mock and insult someone still remained the same, whenever a formal conversation comes up, he forms his sentences more carefully and logically, albeit that his nature to speak through his guts more than brains usually comes out. However, compared to how rough and aggressive his manner of speech was back then, he has become more tamed.

This trait tends to be more noticeable in combat which instead of having an aggressive, ready-to-strike body language and approach, Sou has become more laid-back and more observant to both his surroundings and the actions of the people that he observes. While he used to be observant in the past, his incapability to make calm decisions and charging straight into battle was his weakness and tends to be easily exploited as he may be smart back then but emotions has always gotten the better of him.

While he isn't as easily provoked as he used to be, his calmness isn't all perfect and there are still lingering parts of his past self. He still gets irritated from provocations and mockery, and having to deal with annoyances will only irritate him further. So, once he reaches his breaking point, he can snap in a blink of an eye.

› Observant: Since Sou is considered a berserker of sorts, a man who fights head on without a care in the world other than the defeat of his opponent, he would be mistaken to ignore everything and hope to pummel that one person to death. But based on his past experiences and accompanied by his calm demeanor, Sou is actually a very observant individual that pays close attention to details. Not only because his physical abilities requires a strong attention to minor details but also because he had learnt that being ignorant of small things and focusing only on what's in front of him was the reason why he was crippled till this day.

What's more fearsome of his observant personality is that he tries to not leave any room for mistakes, overestimation or underestimation. This holds true when facing against unknown opponents or up against abilities that he simply doesn't understand, where he plays defensively so he can observe and understand who he is up against. This is a huge contrast to his past more straightforward approach where he "feels it out" by fighting directly, where now he plays a more defensive role and not to be on the offensive unless his life is being threatened.

› Creative: It is no surprise that Sou is actually a very creative individual despite his personality. Because of his lack of supernatural powers, he likes to experiment on himself and his surroundings to see how far his physical strength can go other than just simply punching and kicking with brute force alone. His creativity isn't limited in just experimenting on his physical capabilities but on inventions.

After being crippled by Shadin in Australia War, instead of cursing and sulking on the hospital bed, Sou made use of his head. How can he survive? How to solve his current crippling state? This is how both of his devices, the Annihilator and IEBN came to life, assisting him in his journeys. It shows the extend of his creativity and how he is willing to come up with new things that helps him and experiment in order to expand his arsenal of different attacks. While he may look all brawn and no brains, his creative personality actually shines from his desire to identify problems and come up with solutions to fix them, a trait that is rarely noticed by others due to his past nature.

› Ruthless: Merciless, inhumane, cold-blooded, whatever you may call him, his 5 years in Hell had changed his ruthless nature rather significantly. Not only he became less compassionate against other people but has become ignorant of the casualties that he may cause from his actions. His ruthlessness in the past was solely driven by his negative emotions such as an anger, however, after 5 years had passed peacefully without anyone to lash out against, now it is from the fact that he doesn't care.

But just because he doesn't care doesn't mean that he will lick his fingers and go on a ruthless, murderous rampage. It simply meant that to him, killing someone, if necessary, doesn't emotionally affect him anymore and there is no significant value in taking lives of others than getting rid of a threat or an obstacle. Because he feels no meaningful emotions in murdering people -- innocent or not, he has become cold-blooded in a way.

The reason why he doesn't care is the fact that before dying at the hands of Shadin, he didn't any significant person in his life. No children, no wife, no friends, so in turn, even if he acted in such a cold-blooded action, the only person that would suffer the consequences of his actions would be himself. In addition, with no one that he held in such importance in his life, then there wouldn't be the need to "feel bad" if he had killed anyone that is related to that important individual. So, he has decided to paint himself as the big bad wolf that everyone has to stop.

› Sarcastic: Sarcasm is never a habit that Sou is willing to kill, not even after 5 years in Hell. Even with his calm personality, Sou would still mock the people he talk to with a sarcastic tone regardless whether he knows them or not simply because he doesn't care how they feel or think about him. Even with sarcasm, he makes sure he gets his points across.

It is an apparent personality of his throughout the years where if the opponent has difficulty fighting him or when he has to take on more than a single person at once, instead of showing cockiness or fear, he mocks them for him just to egg them out and give him a better performance than what they can give at that moment. Or when he has to deal with trespassers, he passes over some jokes in a sarcastically nice manner just to let them know that their presence is nothing but an annoyance.

› Unyielding Willpower: This goes without saying that Sou has proven himself time and time again; whether during the Australia War arc, his fight against Nozomi or his battle against Mana, that he isn't the type of person that would easily break physically nor mentally to the point where some people would even question if he was really human.

His constant experience of defeat against his opponents were what shaped his strong willpower. Despite being defeated over and over again, sometimes by the same person he has previously fought against and lost, he would still stand back up and return to challenge them again. He doesn't simply experience defeat and sulk but instead, he learns from his losses and attempts to understand where his current capabilities stand so he can fix his weaknesses and sharpen his strengths. This is why even if he was beaten in a pulp, severely injured or in a major disadvantage, he still has the guts to challenge them head on. It is possible to say that Sou isn't the type that knows how to give up and that trait of his is what grinds the gears of some people that he had met in the past.

Sou also possess strong thirst for improvement, to better himself, to become the absolute force that no one can stop. He wants to understand every bit of detail, the whys, the hows, the whats, all of it so that he'll be able to build a solution out of his situation. All just so that when he comes back to challenge someone again, he will be better, stronger and smarter than before.

He also translate his resolve very well to his presence against anyone seeking to mentally break him, destroy him or even try to pressure him in raw power. Because of his 5 years of solitary in Hell, he was able to take his time to think, refine and sharpen his mentality and even when alone for 5 years, Sou refuses to become weaker than he was in the past, disciplining himself into a calmer man that he is now. It shows that even 5 years in Hell won't break him so easily.

I. Character History

» History

› Childhood
Sou doesn't exactly remember much of his childhood or maybe, he just didn't want to remember what happened back then.

His life started out as an orphan, nobody knew who his parents were or why they dumped him in a basket in front of a church called the Saint Church but still, they took him in and raised him, provided him basic education, food and shelter. So, this church became his home. There were times during his growth, he would sometimes question as to why his family had abandoned him. Was it because of his face? Was it some sort of circumstances that had prevented them from bringing him along? Well, he will never know the answer.

Sou Yuuki's childhood at the church wasn't so smooth-sailing though. He was a very fierce child growing up, always involved in violent encounters with the other kids. Other children was scared of him, sometimes even the adults, because of how violent he was as a kid. There were always the bigger kids: the bullies, trying to "size him up" and all ended up in the hospital with broken bones, torn limbs or sometimes brushed close to death - all due to his lack of control with his physical strength as a kid. He was deemed to be cursed or maybe a monster because children of his size wasn't supposed to be physically strong and human's fear of the unknown had people stay away from him, not talk to him or even interact with him.

Even as a child, Sou had already experienced solitude from the others. Humans are social beings and he wasn't an exception, so when he experiences solitude, he began cursing not only himself but others who were unwilling to accept him. He didn't ask for this abnormality, this strength of his, he didn't demand the heavens to have it and yet, he was granted with it. He despised it, this "gift" that some people with dreams of having a superpower would call it but to him, it is not a gift but a curse that is stuck with him.

He cursed, cursed and cursed. And at this point, he decided only on one thing: If no one is going to help him, then he'll just get rid of this world.

› Growing up..
With no one to act as a parental figure or guidance in Sou's life, growing older only made his life worse. He lacked any means of control over how he should "act normally" and only did what it felt natural - only to cause havoc to his surroundings. When kids or adults mocked him, he acted based on his anger and caused serious injuries. No one believed him when he spoke the truth, fingers were pointed at him when he wasn't even the perpetrator in the first place, all of their frustration were simply pinned on him.

In the end, he snapped.

No one was his ally, his friend, his comrade. There wasn't anyone he could trust. No one seek to understand him and berated him because they fear the unknown, because in their terms, he wasn't "normal" and that he deserved to be excluded from the social circle. So, what did he do? He went out of control. Walls were annihilated, cars were flung, a clear split was seen on the floor and many others were injured near the church at the scene of the crime. His actions had later alerted to authorities but by the time they had reached, the land was in ruins and Sou was nowhere to be seen.

He had escaped deep into a nearby forest close to the church. He didn't exactly know what happened when he regained his senses as the only thing he remembered was that he was already reached his boiling point when the treatment he received worsened over time. Out of fear, he ran and ran to somewhere, anywhere, and into the forest.

It was then he met someone, a person that he can genuinely call his "mentor", Jace Beleren. When they first met, Sou was already a huge mess. His hands were covered with wounds and blood, clothes in tatters and very hostile after what had happened. But somehow, Jace didn't had those eyes that he was so used to seeing - fear and rejection. He still didn't trust him yet but somehow, he had a feeling that he could trust this man.

During his time with Jace, he was taught a calming technique that helps Sou to regulate his emotions if it ever went out of hand. Only learning out of respect for his mentor, he still skips those lessons sometimes and comes around only to visit Jace though even if he does attend to those lessons, he never took them seriously as he believed it wouldn't help him solve his short tempers. While there wasn't much of a social interaction between Sou and Jace, he still felt a sense of respect for his mentor.

However, he eventually stopped meeting his mentor after a few years has passed. Sou felt like he needed to start to be independent and walk on his own, so he eventually moved out of the forest and into the cities.

› City Life
Even after entering back into the society, there wasn't any noticeable improvement in his life nor his personality as a whole. Before his existence was made known to the Yuudeshis in 2413, his life in the city was comparable to that of a delinquent's, causing problems and sometimes property damages when he gets into fights. There were reports in the Karakura City that there was a problematic crimson-haired male on the streets and most shook it off as a common individual who was simply abusing his powers and authorities like the police is usually sent to deal with this sort of person.

However his involvement in Karakura City became more than just a "delinquent's fight". Sou was involved in a huge number of fight in the city and escalating to the point where a portion of Karakura Hospital was destroyed, the destruction of Downtown Karakura and causing problems beyond a slight misuse of his abilities. At this point, the Yuudeshis caught wind of his actions and eventually placed a bounty of Sou's head after triggering a code in the city's defenses, effectively turning him into a wanted criminal inside Karakura City. Many had tried claiming his head but ended up being defeated by his hands.

It was also the time when Sou had earned himself a title, something he decided to call himself - the Nightmare. A title that he wishes to forever etch into the hearts and minds of his opponents as someone to be feared.

› Australia War Arc
When Australia War broke out, Sou participated into the war. Not for land, not for fame and certainly not for any profitable reasons but to look for a challenge, an entertainment, something that he can gauge his current capabilities.

Fast forward to the city of Hobart, when he joined the fray, it was obvious that is one against six, seven? He couldn't remember the numbers very well but it was one against many. For some, fighting against this many people alone was highly disadvantageous but for Sou, it was an extremely fun experience. It was at this point where he was already armed with a new weapon, the Annihilator, and fought against everyone using nothing but brute force. Sou was very confident at winning to the point where he was becoming egotistical as he believed that if this many people couldn't stop him, then no one will.

Then something unthinkable happened.

An energy blast ripped past the skies and down into its intended target, Sou. It was at this point when Shadin and his TCCU clones had intervened the fight and provided support for the others in the battle. It was Sou's closest brush to death as he was lucky enough to redirect it to miss him off of a few degrees, cleanly ripped across his chest and burnt through both his flesh and nerves which left him extremely hurt.

Either way, a normal human being would've died to that sort of blast, but not him. He didn't intend to die there, not there and not now, because he still had ambitions to achieve. He believed that he could change and become better, a good guy, a protagonist in his story but this was a deciding factor to what would change him after this war. With sheer determination to live past this fight, something awakened inside of him, the true awakening state that manifested his negativity as a whole.

Ibiki later joined the fray, with Sou already severely weakened from the aftermath of the blast that he had experienced. With only a few exchange of blows, both of them had believed that this battle had gone far too long and needed to end. So, in his last ditch effort, it was the first time where he used his trump card, Unlimited Strength, tapping into his potential of manipulate his strength and threw whatever's left his energy into obliterate both Ibiki and the city of Hobart. Alas, Ibiki took his trump card head on while Sou's body flying miles away from the shockwave under the force of his punch.

› Post-Australia War
After sending himself flying to god-knows-where, his existence was an utter silence for a few days after the Australia War had seized. Quietly under rehabilitation in a small clinic, Sou took his time to assemble a device, the IEBN device, that was capable of supporting his crippled state - a scar and an aftermath of Shadin's energy blast support that he almost died from. He knew that if he had went out in his current condition, his body would outright fail to support his movement because his nervous system no longer works correctly. After all, Sou is still a human through and through. It is a miracle that he was still alive but he believed that he couldn't die just yet since he had a lot of things left unsettled and goals unachieved.

After he was done with his rehabilitation, there wasn't a time to take a breather as he needed to continue moving, improving, sharpening his skills.

It was also the time for him to set himself an impossible challenge: to fight against Mana Asthavon, or what they would call the Demon Queen. And to that, he needed to start travelling real far to New York as compared to other spiritual beings, Sou doesn't have teleportation skills or some fancy fast vehicle to move to his destination. So, he does what any normal man would do -- which is to walk to his destination on foot.

› Battle against the Demon Queen Arc
Before his fight against Mana Asthavon, he first arrived in India, where he had met Nozomi. While it was a very one-sided battle, like a battle-crazed maniac he was, Sou still fought her head on and even activated his awakening to play an even ground against her.

During the battle, he had discovered a glaring weakness in one of the equipment that he relies on to support his body and that was the battery. He didn't take into the account of external interference and how other beings could easily tamper with it to cripple him. In the end, he was at the mercy of Nozomi and was ultimately defeated even under awakening state, and left himself taking a break to recover from his injuries.

In his travels to New York, Sou has also modified his existing equipment after learning from his fight against Nozomi in hopes that it wouldn't be easily taken advantage of as a weakness by his future opponents.

And finally after his long travels, Sou finally reached his destination - New York City. Sou knew very well that he was just a human and it is well beyond his capability to even start challenge the Demon Queen. But.. it was exciting for him. He was shaking not out of fear but excitement, that a mere human like himself went through a journey just to personally challenge Mana herself after enduring countless of pain and suffering in his journey of becoming stronger. Finally, he could prove that humans like himself can surpass even the strongest being in this world.

When he first arrived New York, it was already under the control of Shadowfall and that the place was filled with hostile demonic beings, however, none was willing to approach him. So, what was the most sensible thing he did when he came to New York?

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Sou shouted at the top of his lungs, calling her out wherever she was and openly declare that he was back to mark his words. Since this was her territory, he knows that she wouldn't let him roam freely and so she did come out but not the way he expected. The last time he had met Mana, he knew she was this playful and sarcastic woman, and that compared to her, Sou was probably someone who isn't a match to her in terms of power.

She was mad. Real mad. She wasn't hesitant to rip him apart in a fit of anger and what made it worse is that he was an intruder who is claiming to take her down once and for all. She had attempted to gouge his eyes out, tendrils stabbing every part of his body, three horns impaling him and even one horn to the head. Yet -- he wasn't dead from that when an average person should.

Again and again, he struggled to fight against the Demon Queen. The difference in power between a human like himself and Mana was too big to compare, anything he threw at her was simply brushed away lightly. Simply put, he is close to something of a ragdoll. He was to be torn apart, ripped out of his powers and everything that defines what he was today and he, for the first time, genuinely thought he was going to die at the hands of Mana Asthavon but somehow, he was able to escape and ended up admitting his defeat.

› End of Journey
After his fight with both Mana Asthavon and Nozomi, Sou ended up in Karakura Hospital in a severely weakened state. He was in no shape or form to fight at the time and Shadin had personally came to see him to "talk things out" and had offered him a chance for him to change and end this. However, for Sou's perspective, he believes that everything was pretty much too late for him and rejected his offer out of personal pride.

So here, Shadin injected his spiritual particles and nanomachines to take Sou apart -- his brain, soul and body, effectively killing him at that very moment. It was a regretful decision but nonetheless, it was a decision that Sou had made to not join Shadin's side and repent because he felt it was too late. Here in the Karakura Hospital, it was finally the end of the Nightmare's journey after surviving countless of impossible odds, in situations where he should've been dead. Finally, it is over.

Or is it?

› Hell
When Sou regained his consciousness, he realized that both his body and soul was still somehow intact. He thought he genuinely died in the hands of Shadin but it seems that it wasn't the time for him to go -- especially when he found out that he was deep down in the last layer of Hell, which was expected for him considering all of the mistakes that he had committed in the past but refused to repent when offered to do so. No one to talk to, no friends to communicate with, no man to approach him, he was alone even in Hell.

So, what to do? Instead of sinking in despair that he was in Hell, Sou accepted the fact that he was here, in Hell, and that he needed to figure out something new - a reason to live, to continue and to fight on. So without hesitation, he started training himself in Hell: push-ups, endurance, practicing punches and kicks, and spend time in meditation for a few hours.

Sou continued the same routine to maintain consistency, all of it for a solid 5 years which was a long time for humans and it was finally the time when he made the decision to return to the living realm for the first time and met with Liu Xinshen - telling her that not only he spent his 5 years in disciplining himself and changing his personality in Hell but also the time to ponder the reason for him to return to the surface and only reached one conclusion: He wanted to try again and see where life takes him but this time, instead of making the same mistake in his past where he acted on pure emotion, he will do it by logic and mutual benefit. This time, he won't be blinded again.

Convinced that Sou had changed and thought of his past mistakes, Liu gave him another chance and a pass to be revived back to the surface in hopes that this time, the results will be different.

So, the present day arrives.

I. Equipment

» Equipment:

› The Annihilator: Also known as the Prototype Annihilator, it is an equipment that is an essential part of Sou and remains unchanged even after his 5 years in Hell. It takes on an appearance of a typical hospital's underarm crutch, customized in both appearance and functionality-wise as it acts as Sou's part of his support in balancing himself after being crippled in Australia War.

The Annihilator doesn't just act as a support for Sou but also a weapon. Since he doesn't have any supernatural powers of his own without having to go into his release state, he relies on the Annihilator to provide him one temporarily with how he built it. However, even without the prebuilt pseudo-powers that Annihilator provides, it already acts as a powerful weapon of its own with materials that is built to personally handle Sou's physical strength and not break under the pressure of his strength.

› I.E.B.N: International Electronic Brace Network, not a name that he was proud of giving but it works as intended -- a life support machine that straps around his wrist. Ever since he was crippled by Shadin during the Australia War, Sou relies on I.E.B.N to make sure his nervous system works properly: the ability to walk, move his body, feel pain and anything that involves his nervous system. Without it, moving becomes a difficult task for Sou due to his fried nervous system, so some of his body parts either do not respond or can only do so much as twitching.

Acting as a life support for Sou means that this device is of an extreme importance to him, however, thanks to his experience with Nozomi and others that exploit this weakness, he converted it into a semi-batteryless system where if its battery is exploited, it would switch to passive mode and run on something similar to a sleep mode and hold electrical charges in a small capacitor where it would barely be enough to sustain Sou's life for long periods of time until he replaces it with a new battery.

Just like Annihilator, the interesting part of this device that it grants him pseudo-powers which is the ability to manipulate electricity but not through the use of spiritual energy but batteries instead, which drains extremely fast if he were to attempt to use it. Most of the time, it serves as a life support and nothing else, and a good amount of time, Sou keeps it hidden from sight and reflect from detection using the Annihilator.

I. Natural Abilities & Skills

» Natural Abilities:

› Strength Manipulation: A very unique ability that only Sou seems to possess -- the ability to freely manipulate his physical strength. To simply put, there is no definite limit to how much of his physical strength can be used and that he is capable of controlling on how much physical force he unleashes from his body.

To give a simple explanation, while a spiritual being or a superhuman may have enhanced strength compared to an average human, they still need to train themselves in order to be physically stronger and if they want to go even further, it would require augmentation from equipment or spiritual energy to surpass their body's limits. To Sou, his body isn't bound by any physical limitations that defines how far his strength can go before reaching its peak, so training or external assistance that serves to increase his physical strength further becomes useless to him.

With his ability to freely manipulate his own physical strength, it meant that Sou possesses almost near perfect level of control over the physical exertion from his body - how much physical force to be used, from what part of his body and when should he release that force on his target. Whether its his fingertips, palm, legs or even his head, by having a full control over his strength and body, he makes sure that he leaves no opening and that his attack can come from anywhere that he desires.

What's truly fearsome is the amount of different applications that he can do just from his physical strength alone, coupled with his near perfect level of control over it that Sou has refined over the years through and after Australia War and during his time in Hell. As long as it is something that he can affect from his physical strength, it can stretch to endless possibilities that are only limited to his creativity as he has proven feats such as vibration manipulation, fire generation and many more in his many different fights before his death which effectively grants him massive amount of utility on what he can do with his strength alone and turns him into a formidable foe even among those equal in skill level to him in the field of brute strength.

The most interesting thing about his strength manipulation is that it doesn't rely on the use of spiritual energy and relies on his body's natural resource called stamina which he possesses a tremendous amount of, which can be simply thought as a replacement for his lack of spiritual energy other than being able to interact with spiritual beings. Just like how someone has to spend their stamina when jogging and get tired after a prolonged jog, his strength uses the same concept: the more physical strength he puts behind his attacks, the more physically exhausted he gets. This may act as an advantage for Sou as it throws some people off on how he obtains such a degree of control and physical force behind his attacks since he doesn't rely on supernatural energies or powers to augment them.

Other than the numerous applications that he could utilize with his strength, Sou can perform feats that any other beings with his level of strength could; lift and throw massive buildings, causing earthquakes with a stomp and even splitting the ground into two with a kick. However, because Sou's constant use of his physical strength and the time he took to refine those skills, he was able to perform feats beyond what a normal human could -- moving at supersonic speeds with the force of his steps, unleashing a single punch capable of taking out half of Hobart, accurately control vibrations by carefully directing the physical force of his strength and even turning the air around him into a deadly weapon by igniting fire via friction or causing explosion by crushing it with brute force.

However, his strength has a weakness. It operates under the same rule as Newton's third law of motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. While his strength can reach to an inconceivable level and in theory, using an infinite percentage of his physical strength, in the end, it is still only a theoretical situation. Since his strength operates under Newton's third law of motion, it means that the higher the percentage that he utilizes with his strength, the greater the recoil becomes in result of releasing a massive percentage of his physical strength. The recoil from using his strength varies depending on usage but the consequences are usually torn muscles, broken bones or worst case scenario, exploding limbs, which is why the body's physical durability becomes an important factor for him. So, his ability to manipulate his physical strength is limited by the resulting recoil and how much his body can take before becoming fatally injured.

› High Durability: An attribute that his body naturally obtained and strengthened itself over the course of his life and even further refined during his 5 years in Hell.

Thanks to the numerous battles he's been through over the years that he has fought, the wounds he has sustained and many different types of enemies he has encountered as well as the nature of his physical strength, his body has naturally adapted to the conditions that Sou has forcibly put himself through and can be considered to be a type of evolution where his body develops resistance against harmful attacks. However, compared to those who has dedicated themselves to develop their bodies to become more resistant to being wounded, Sou can be considered as average.

Sou is not only externally durable but internally as well since his body has to at least be conditioned to sustain itself from self-destructing under the force of Sou's strength. To put something to scale, a cero coming from a tier 2 wouldn't be capable of scratching his skin at all while a tier 1 would manage to burn his flesh and a tier 0 would be able to bypass most of his body's resistance. However, his internal durability is a whole new different case that even an average martial artist would find some level of difficulty to destroy even one of his organs or cause internal bleeding even if they are capable of completely piercing through his hard skin. A simple reason is that if he didn't condition his body to resist against internal damages, it would be utterly destroyed just from the pressure generated by his own physical strength,

› Monstrous Stamina: An essential part of his strength, monstrous is an appropriate way to describe the amount of stamina that Sou possesses. Not only is it difficult to physically tire him out but as it was highlighted before, it acts as an important replacement over his lack of spiritual energy in order to be able to use his strength for long periods of time and not collapse in exhaustion just from throwing a few punches.

Other than acting as a fuel for his strength, Sou also knows how to control and optimize his stamina. Just like his near perfect degree of control over his strength, it holds the same for his control over his stamina -- simply put, both his strength and stamina depends on each other. Without control over his stamina, Sou can waste energy and release the wrong amount of force than intended and without control over his physical strength, his massive amount of stamina would be improperly used and cause unnecessary damages that can prove fatal to both himself and his surroundings.

His stamina isn't just for show either as he has done various feats that has shown how long he can last in a fight. Such as during his fight in Hobart, Australia where he alone fought against 6 people at once, down to five and then 7 when TCCU clones and Ibiki came in. Or the case where after fighting against Nozomi, Sou still had the energy to challenge Mana soon afterward.

Even his willpower being a major factor, the amount of stamina that Sou has is no joke. In situations where most would normally collapse in exhaustion, he would still have the energy to keep fighting on for hours without stopping until someone puts an end to him. It is at the point where people would find him annoying as to why he doesn't stay down no matter what.

› Extreme Pain Tolerance: Sou's forté doesn't just lie on his physical strength but also his tolerance against pain when he steels himself with resolve. His pain tolerance was built all the way since childhood when he didn't have any control over his strength, always ended up with either broken bones or wounds from the recoil of his own strength and even up until his death, Sou has always involved himself in countless battles that leave him with grave injuries but continued fighting nonetheless.

The extent of how much pain he can take is frightening. Proven once during Australia War when he took an energy blast that crippled him for good and was still able to continue his fight against Ibiki and many others, and another time when he was clearly impaled by Mana on different areas of his body including his forehead and that was after he fought Nozomi, Sou was still able to continue fighting on until his defeat. It clearly shows through his actions as to why he was able to live up to his title of "the Nightmare".

His past motivations that allowed him to tolerate so much pain beyond imagination was his obsession in becoming the strongest human accompanied by being blinded by negative emotions which ultimately led him to his death. After he regained his humanity and ended up in Hell, he has other goals in mind but one thing doesn't change - Sou still intends to surpass the Demon Queen no matter what. So he decided that if his journey was to be a painful one, then he'll take it until he reaches his goal.

› Good Memory: Calling it a "good" memory would be an understatement since it is one of the leading factors to his quick growth and adaptation skills. While not something akin to a photographic memory, Sou's ability to remember things down to the smallest detail is frightening. As long as he sees and/or experiences something once or twice, his brain would capture that moment and ingrain it into his memory.

Every detail -- words, feelings, faces, movements wouldn't be a problem for Sou to recall as if it just happened yesterday. His memory, however, isn't perfect and sometimes in order to fill in any missing parts of his memory, his brain would fabricate fake memories and treat them as if they really happened. One of the reasons why he cannot perfectly remember and replicate people's techniques because there may be a few minor details that his eyes or body may not have seen, so his brain does the rest of the work for him and leave him with something akin to an incomplete memory of an event.

› Blood Regeneration: Sou's nature of his regeneration ability is rather different and maybe insignificant as well. Despite lacking any spiritual abilities, this regeneration ability of his may the result of what little spiritual energy he has inside him that has enhanced his body's recovery speed. Simply put, this regeneration ability of his cannot recover any limbs that are lost and only capable of accelerating his body's recovery speed and somehow regenerating any blood that was lost at inhuman speeds.

It meant that while not impossible, it would be difficult for him to die from excessive blood loss as the moment his body detects any abnormalities in the amount of blood he has in his body, it will start generating new blood and other cells for his body's blood level to recover back to normal amounts as quickly as possible and ramps up his body's recovery speed to close up any small to intermediate wounds that is causing his blood loss while attempting to minimize blood loss on more severe wounds.

› High Intellectual Capability: While it may come as unexpected, Sou possesses an unusually high level of intellect. One of the reason being the nature of his strength manipulation which requires a high level of understanding over one's body and the calculative ability and speed to be able to control his strength down to the atom -- both traits which he has.

His creativity plays a role as well. Living proof of his intellectual capability was the invention of the Annihilator and IEBN, both which he built himself in order to support him after being crippled in Australia War. Not just that, performing feats such as using electric charges to naturally summon lightning, the ability to accurately direct vibrations and setting the air on fire through friction proves his possession of scientific knowledge and calculation speeds that are beyond average, though some calculations of the calculations were through the use of his IEBN device.

› Spiritual Awareness: Sou's level of spiritual awareness only go so far to being able to see them and interact with them physically as well as verbally, a simple ability granted by what little spiritual energy Sou has. To an average spiritual being, Sou's amount of spiritual energy would be considered as a bare minimum for him to be capable of interacting with spiritual beings and nothing more so he is often underestimated by people who judge his strength by the amount of spiritual energy that he has.

› Inhuman Scale of Pressure: As someone who doesn't possess a significant amount of spiritual energy or any supernatural powers at all, somehow, Sou can naturally generate pressure similar in nature to Reiatsu or Spiritual Pressure to levels that it would defy common sense.

While it is a feat that he has proven to have done in the past, during his 5 years in Hell, Sou had realized that with a clever utilization of the pressure generated by his physical strength, combined by his ability to be able to translate his resolve, killing intent and sometimes pure strength by his presence alone, Sou is capable of not only control the density and radius of his pressure but with careful tweaking, he has shown a few times that the pressure that he generates can crush people under the weight of his pressure, suffocate from how he tightly keeps his pressure in an area or even serve as a field of protection around him to prevent harm from ever coming close to him.

It is unclear how powerful of a pressure Sou can generate but with proper use, he could easily force someone that is equal to a captain-level shinigami down to their knees if he wanted to.

› Intermediate Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Sou, by no means is an opponent to be underestimated but when it comes to pure hand-to-hand fight, Sou is no different from your typical street fighter. Despite the years in Hell and the many past battles he has been through, he has never formally taught himself any hand-to-hand techniques nor did he bother trying to learn any. So, his only knowledge of fighting hand-to-hand comes from battle experiences and if it there was a "technique" to name his fighting style, it would be called adaptability.

Sou is a sole believer of control over one's body. He believes that no matter what fancy techniques he learns, if it fails to kill his target then it would be useless regardless. So his fighting technique revolves around conditioning his body to adapt and be capable of fighting different types of enemies with different skills, body and resistances regardless of their race. Once he figures out the core nature of their abilities, all he needed is to destroy it from its roots.

This is why despite not having any form of hand-to-hand skills, his creative use of his strength, the ability to freely adapt to a style suitable to deal with different types of opponents and battle experiences that he gathered throughout the years granted him at least a moderate level of skill in hand-to-hand combat.

THE SUPERNATURAL HUMAN TEMPLATE

Spiritual Human Profile
中空アーチャー

I. Sacred Release

» Sacred Release Appearance: Sou's sacred release doesn't boast any major changes to his appearance and is rather simplistic. He gains a pair of black wings, constantly roaring bursts of electricity out of itself and into the ground underneath him as well as a pair of red, glowing eyes that leaves a small temporary trail behind every time he makes any sort of movement.

» Sacred Release Powers:

› Electricity Manipulation & Generation: Since Sou temporarily gains back large amounts of spiritual energy in his sacred release state, he no longer has to rely on his equipment to generate and manipulate electricity.

Sou is no stranger to manipulating and generating electricity - just that this time, it would be under the full control and influence of his own spiritual energy instead of an equipment that is prone to failure. Over the years that he has used electricity as his main element to control and additional time that he has spent in Hell to peer deeper into the potential of what manipulating electricity can do, it is no surprise that he has possesses a level of control close to mastery over the element of electricity.

› High Spiritual Power: In his sacred release, Sou's spiritual energy is still considered to be at an immature stage. Since he only has a bare minimum in his base state, his body isn't powerful enough to handle the sudden surge in the amount of spiritual power that his body is not accustomed to, causing something that is similar to an immature growth in his sacred release state and indicating that his body in this release state still has not reached its full potential yet which explains why he doesn't possess tons of spiritual power.

› Electromagnetic Field: A passive ability that is activated at the very moment he enters his sacred state, this electromagnetic shield of his serves as a protection for him against any objects with the intention to harm him. It works by using his spiritual energy to generate densely packed electrical charges in the air around him and in turn, produce an electromagnetic field around him from the resulting charges that exists around him.

What's interesting about the electromagnetic field is that it adjusts itself depending on Sou's tier, essentially growing with him. To a user whose main element is electricity, his electromagnetic field would be a nightmare to deal with. Since its strength corresponds to Sou's tier, any attacks that are 2 sub-tiers below him would only have its power and effectiveness halved while those equal or above his tier would only have quarter of its power and effectiveness halved. The rest beyond the 2 sub-tiers would be completed negated and be broken down into its building blocks - spiritual energy and be converted into his own source of energy. However, this kind of protection is only exclusive to purely electricity-based users.

Other elements? It wouldn't be affected as much as it would only completely negate attacks that are beyond a full tier below him and 3 sub-tiers below him and above would be able to completely bypass his electromagnetic field completely. It shows how weak his electromagnetic field is when up against other elemental users.

His electromagnetic field, however, isn't easy to tamper with unless he or she have complete mastery over electromagnetism. Despite his field being passively activated, it doesn't mean that he also doesn't have an active control over it. The moment any irregularities related to attempts of tampering is detected in his field, it would automatically switch from passive to active power where Sou would attempt to mess with the process of tampering by destroying the charges and generating new ones consecutively once every few seconds, a concept similar to how a 2-factor authentication generates a new 6 digit code for every minute that passes to prevent any successful attempts and locate the perpetrator.

Otherwise, Sou has a full control over his electromagnetic field and can decide whether it'll be on or off. Be known that his field isn't capable of any redirection of attacks against him and is only capable of negation, and nothing else.

› Electric Coating: This ability lets Sou generate a layer of electricity on his body, basically "coating" it with electrical energy. It doesn't just work with a single body part but he is capable of coating his entire body into a full suit of electricity and turn himself into a walking stun gun that shocks upon contact.

While the application of this ability is simple, the power it packs is not a joke. Once a part of his body is coated with electricity, it stays there until he applies a considerable amount of force to trigger an explosive burst of electricity with potency that varies depending on how hard he strikes his opponent. It is one of the reasons why this ability is dangerous is because of its effects that are dependent on the strength of his attacks, meaning that if he were to deliver a kick coated with this ability of his at a percentage of his strength, it would have discharged enough electrical power to produce a meter-wide crater.

There is a drawback in using this ability though. When he coats his body with electricity, it doesn't mean he is immune to the recoil behind it. Since it triggers from a certain amount of physical force, it doesn't discriminate who will be hurt by it which meant that he could also injure or shock himself if he doesn't use it carefully. The danger that it has is significant enough that if improperly used, Sou can accidentally blow off one of his limbs. This is why even if it is suitable for defensive purposes, it is too much of a risk to injure him if someone tries to attack him.

› Plasma Beam: A simple ability that packs piercing firepower, it works by supplying his spiritual energy to a small designated area and generate electrical charges into one confined space until it reaches a point where it becomes a glowing hot ball of plasma, compressed in a tight area with nowhere for the charges to escape. From there, its firepower would depend how much spiritual energy that Sou is willing to supply into the ball of plasma as the more electrical charge he generates, the higher the potency of the beam becomes.

An average beam that takes less than a second to generate would have the piercing power that can easily melt through steel but in one concentrated spot. The beams he usually generates are a single-shot meaning that it beams through one spot once and disappear in a blink of an eye which is both easy to control and aim.

He can also generate a beam that can last more than a few seconds and melt through anything that stands on its path but this type of beam would be difficult to use. Not only would Sou has to constantly supply spiritual energy to the beam, he also has to control where the beam would be directed at and across which requires a good number of his concentration.

Plasma beam's use is intended for the ability to pierce through even the toughest defenses on one concentrated spot. However, since its made to pierce, the beam itself doesn't have much in terms of destructive power, so it is easy to overwhelm it with an area-of-effect attack.

› Plasma Needles: Plasma needles may sound like a very peculiar name for an ability but it does live up to its name. The purpose of this ability is not pure firepower but to overwhelm his target with sheer number.

Because of how little spiritual energy it costs to generate a single needle-sized plasma, Sou can generate up to tens of thousands of them, each of them only having enough power to cause a shock similar to a mini-stun gun and barely doing any noteworthy damage akin to a scratch. But when sent out in huge numbers at once, even tiny shocks would add up to be more than annoying - painful even as the electric shock accumulates with each needle. Not only their size is annoying but the speed as well, moving at the speeds that can rival a fighter jet. Since individual plasma needles do not hold much power, it can be easily destroyed by an untrained shinigami.

However, if he so desires to, Sou can gather up all of the plasma needles into a single spot and form something called a Plasma Spear, a combined power of all the needles compressed into a single attack with a destructive power equal to that of a cero of an average tier 2 arrancar.

I. Ascended Sacred State

» Ascended Sacred State Appearance: His appearance doesn't undergo any massive changes but also very simplistic in nature. Physical appearance-wise, Sou doesn't undergo any sort of changes. The exception is that instead of a single pair of black wings, he gains two extra pairs that grows out of his back, a strong indication that Sou's spiritual power has gained full maturity in this stage.

» Ascended Sacred State Powers:

› Plasma Manipulation & Generation: Once Sou reaches the ascended sacred state, it also meant that Sou's manipulation powers has grown along with his spiritual energy's maturity in this stage. Here, he no longer have to rely on generating electrical charge to create plasma and can create one if he wishes to. With the ability to generate and manipulate plasma, not only his skills from his sacred release can be carried over but they would take lesser time to execute since he can skip the process of making a plasma out of electricity.

Sou's manipulation skills however, is rather impressive. He is not limited in manipulating the element that he generates himself but he has scattered his spiritual energy in a few meters of area around him so if plasmas or electricity that are not his are directed towards him and enter the field that he has set up around him, he can take over and manipulate or redirect them however he desires.

› Chaotic Spiritual Power: At this state is when Sou's powers have reached its full maturity. Ascended Sacred State helps Sou's body to temporarily evolve to the point where it is capable of handling and tap into the potential of his spiritual power to its fullest might which resulted his spiritual power to explode to a scale that cannot be easily described by words especially when working in conjunction with the pressure that he already naturally generates.

By reaching full maturity of his powers in this state, the amount of spiritual energy in his body becomes difficult to measure with numbers alone or be compared with other beings. One of the reasons being Sou's personality especially his offensive-oriented fight, so his release state reflects those values and allowed him to have enough spiritual energy to go on fight for days on end.

› Slice: Taking a page out of one of his skills, Electric Coating, this ability called "Slice" works in a slightly different manner.

Typically used with his hand, this ability basically envelopes his hand with a layer of hot plasma, not too dense that his hand would glow brightly but transparent enough to be able to see his hand. There is two ways he could utilize this ability - first is to use it as an enhancement since it is still a layer of plasma and its temperature would be close to a lightning bolt's, giving him the ability to easily melt through even reinforced steel with a single chop.

Another way is to use it as a projectile - by swinging his hand down and let loose the plasma that enveloped his hand, effectively "flinging" a blast of plasma towards his opponent with power comparable to half of an average cero's power and speeds that may rival a bala. When used as a projectile, its temperature is reduced considerably and while incapable of melting through steel, it still poses a threat when any attempts to endure it directly is made with temperatures enough to even burn through the skin of an individual with advanced durability.

What's so special about this ability is the lack of difficulty in utilizing it and how effortlessly it can be used without consuming too much energy, making it one of Sou's favorite when it comes to conserving energy. It is neither too strong nor too weak either, making it a balanced ability as well.

› Judgement: A wide area-of-attack ability, Sou would build a large, rectangular wall of plasma behind him with a height reaching almost 10 feet tall, several meters wide and a meter thick. At first glance, it would be mistaken as a wall for defensive purposes but that is the charm of it; it isn't an energy wall to defend whoever's behind it.

It would erupt a perfectly rectangular blast of energy out of itself against the target that it is facing and taking it directly is not a good idea. To give something to scale with, it would be something similar to being blasted in the face directly with the force of a few nuclear bombs in a compact rectangular space and inflict large amount of shock to their body's muscles which causes temporary paralysis if they are not resistant to electricity or plasma.

It packs a lot of power but there is one issue: it takes around 2 posts to complete a wall of plasma and possibly longer if he is distracted as it is difficult even for him to build something that powerful instantaneously and if he wants to achieve the power that it can have since it takes up a considerable amount of his spiritual energy as well.

› State of Abandonment [EVENT ONLY]: Sou's one and only last resort ability -- a trump card to be exact if he is ever cornered to the point where it puts him into life-or-death situation. The application of this ability is simple: Convert every single drop of his spiritual energy into raw power that will dramatically augment his physical capabilities.

All of his physical skills (durability, strength and speed) would all gain a tremendous increase of 2 levels (beginner to advanced, adept to elite and advanced to elite), however, if those skills are beyond the level of elite, then those effectiveness of those skills and his physical capabilities would be tripled. Simply put, Sou would abandon his entire reserve of spiritual energy into enhancing himself physically to monstrous levels. A small flick of his finger could easily blow up mountains, his physical speed would allow him to achieve up to the several times the speed of sound and even a skilled swordsman would find it difficult to cut anywhere past his skin. At this point, Sou would dedicate himself into strengthening his expertise in physical, hand-to-hand combat when he uses this ability in an attempt to physically overwhelm his opponent at all costs.

But this ability comes at a huge cost: it doesn't last long, at most only 3 turns and once this ability is activated, it would be counted as its 1st turn within the post that is activated in. Once all 3 turns are exhausted, so will Sou. Since he sacrifices all the spiritual energy in order to gain the physical augmentation he desires, he would be weak and immobile, stuck in a sorry state where he can easily be killed with a slit across the throat.

This is why this ability remains as a last resort where it determines whether he lives or dies because it is as the name of the ability - he abandons all that he has for the sake of quickly getting rid of his enemy as if his life depended on it.
