Security is Worth the Cost [Taiwan Takeover]

"It's a small price to pay, I feel; in fact, it's not much of a price at all; this is entirely beneficial for your people--and you."

There was a bit of dirt on the collar of the man's white shirt. The energy that nation's used, relative to the beginning of the millennium, was cleaner than before; the pollution in the atmosphere was considerably healthier. Unfortunately, that was mostly for the nations that kept up with the changing of times. Taiwan was not one of those nations. They fell behind, dramatically, after the introduction of the several realms intervened in Earth's everything. The reason for the dirt around his collar was normal, just sweat and dust in the air compounding to stain the white, but Taiwan had a significant issue with this. The byproduct of nearby nations and their organisation overlord's were disposed with the well-being of their peoples in mind; Taiwan was not in their considerations.

"I know how you feel, truly. Better than anyone else, in fact; which is why you know how well equipped I am to maintain the honour of the peoples here. Already, we've been aiding your economy and infrastructure, the political climate now is a major improvement to the chaotic power-grabs of the past 400 years, don't you agree, Mr. President?"

It was true, more or less. For the past few years since Cyng claimed Solomon Sovereignty, though the world around them wasn't particularly aware of the improvements on the islands, it was evidently enough of a change to enable the nation to also feed into Taiwan's economy. It was kept discreet, and more importantly legal, with several industrial and technological corporations most recently established in Taiwan being traced back to fundings from the Solomon Sovereignty. Even a lot of the influencers in the political and social media spheres had a lot of backing from Solomon. Concerns were brought up in the past with Solomon being overly involved, but an astonishing number of politicians and CEOs were in favour of their continued presence. There was a unity here that wasn't seen for an unfortunately long while.

"The tides of war are building up, Mr. President. Don't let your pride be your fall."

True enough, war was indeed coming. And, with Taiwan being in a substantially less than optimal geographic area, once this war was to kick off it wasn't a matter of preserving the nation--that wasn't even a possibility with their independence. Monsuta, K-World, Yayjuu, Shadow Fall--they surrounded Taiwan, and with no leadership that held a particular influence or involvement in the world of the titans, destruction was assured.

"I'll... I'll discuss this with my cabinet. Give me three days."

"In that case, I look forward to our unified future, Mr. President."
