I. Basic Information
» Name: Kanghui
» Age: Unknown
» Gender: Male
» Race: Dragon
» Association: None. Seeks to destroy everything
» Appearance:
» Purpose: The purpose of this NPC is to act as the main enemy in the high tiered China event. It will seek to destroy everything it possibly can, and will stop at nothing to conquer the entire earth if it isn't stopped. It is only intended to be used for one thread, but if that thread does not go well it may make an appearance elsewhere on Earth to cause more damage. It is not intended to be used for anything other than these few destruction events, and will be killed/sealed/exiled in the end.
II. Personality
» Personality: This dragon has always been fairly unstable, but after having been locked away for thousands of years in an area completely inhospitable to it, it's gone quite mad. It will stop at nothing to cause as much destruction and mayhem as it possibly can. It makes no distinction when it comes to who or what it targets, everything is equally deserving of death. Although the dragon is on a rampage it does still possess the ability to think. It was remarkably cunning before it was locked away, and still retains a bit of this wit. It has reached such a maddened state that any concept of consequence or pain has left its mind, it only exists to destroy at this point.
III. History
» History: Kanghui roamed the earth freely at one point in time, and even before he was a fully mature dragon he was incredibly powerful. He would commonly show off, as he was vain in nature, even if he did believe that humans were like ants when compared to him. After many displays of tremendous power he began to be revered, and was eventually worshiped as a god within China. For many years his power was uncontested, and while things weren't precisely Utopian, his rule was fairly peaceful. The major point of contention was that he demanded a large tribute multiple times per year. He wasn't very picky when it came to what his tribute consisted of, and would happily accept food, treasure, slaves, etc. In return for his tribute he offered the people his protection. The only problem was they didn't feel they were in need of any protection. Eventually the people became enraged by this continuous obligation, and although on their own they would have no way to combat this dragon, even if they all took him on at the same time, they were able to find a way to seal his power.
Those who wished to rebel went to great lengths and toiled for many years to create several magical artifacts. These artifacts were created solely for the purpose of containing the great dragon's power. When they'd finished creating them and gathered up their best magic users they prepared to confront the dragon. At first he simply laughed at them, so completely sure of himself and of his power that he did not fear their advance in the slightest. Eventually though, he realized that they had indeed developed a magic which was capable of sealing him, and he went mad with rage. Lashing out in an attempt to disrupt their ritual, Kanghui was able to kill many of those who stood against him, but in the end it was too late.
They were successful in sealing the dragon's power in their artifacts, which they hid as well as they could, both physically and spiritually. They did this so that hopefully no one would be able to locate the artifacts, either on purpose or by accident. Those who still worshiped the dragon felt that they could no longer openly dissent, and so they went into hiding.
Kanghui was still dangerous, even without the vast majority of his spiritual energy, so the people rallied themselves against the dragon. They had already lost many of their men, and facing the dragon again even more of their forces were slain, but in the end they were able to cage Kanghui, and they locked him away underground. He's spent an incalculable amount of time under the surface of the earth. This alone would have driven him mad, as he was out of his element completely, but the fact that his power, which he'd always been so vain about was taken from him had an even greater effect on his mentality. Over the ages he became more and more crazed. He developed a single minded focus on the destruction of everything that had been taken from him. He reached the peak of insanity centuries ago, and has been bubbling beneath the surface ever since.
The order of monks who still worship the dragon have never given up on returning their "god" to the earth though, and now they've finally found their chance. With the return of the artifacts they have been able to begin the process of his return to power. It is now only a matter of time before he makes his presence known.
IV. Powers
Dragon's Bite: Kanghui's teeth can shatter nearly any resistance they meet. They are incredibly sharp, incredibly durable, and grow back within a matter of minutes if by some miraculous action they are lost. That's just the start though. His teeth aren't even the deadliest part of his bite, although they are incredibly deadly. What really makes this bite dangerous are the flesh eating bacteria that reside within Kanghui's mouth. The dragon itself is immune to these bacteria, but anyone who would come into contact with them would need to either quickly amputate the affected area, or rely on the fact that they have a high level of spiritual energy, and attempt to fight it in that way. Either way some from of damage should naturally result from this, and if it is combated in a spiritual way then a great deal of energy would necessarily be expended.
Dragon's Breath: Kanghui is able to expel great fiery blasts from his mouth. This is no normal fire though. It is exceptionally hot, and has a few interesting properties. For one, even if the heat is not enough to damage the target, the destructive spiritual nature of this attack means that it will begin to eat away at whatever it makes contact with. Spiritual beings do have some defense against this, but in the process will almost certainly drain a vast amount of their own spiritual energy. Secondly, the area directly around this blast of noxious fire is extremely toxic. If inhaled the gases emitted would be enough to drop most combatants after only a few posts. They won't necessarily die, but they will begin to lose control of their motor skills, perhaps even to the extent of their heart beating or their lungs being capable of exhalation and inhalation. This of course, would almost certainly result in death.
Dragon's Tail: Kanghui can whip his tail around at supersonic speeds. This can be used as an extremely powerful attack, especially when you consider the mass of his tail, and the sharper scales that reside there.
Scaley Hide: While not entirely impervious to attacks, this dragon is quite durable and resilient. Due to the sheer size and strength of its massive scales anyone would have a difficult time actually causing physical injury to it. Because of the unique property of its scales, spiritual attacks will also prove to be much less effective than one would expect. If the scales were to somehow be removed the dragon would be much more vulnerable, but it has yet to lose even one over the course of its very long life.
Spiritual Pressure: This dragon has an abundance of spiritual energy, and is able to sustain any kind of spiritual attack for a tremendous period of time. When angered its spiritual pressure is particularly devastating, as the dragon possesses incredibly dense energy that lends itself well to a crushing effect.
Tremendous Size: Kanghui is a very large dragon, and although he hasn't been measured extensively, stretched out completely he is easily longer than even a large city.
