«EXPERIENCE IS IMPORTANT»

Why is experience important on Platinum Hearts? Experiences breeds knowledge. Knowledge breeds execution. And execution builds on realiability. These are things which can factor into staff trusting people because they understand to a fair degree the landscape of the site, how we function and the way that our culture is.

No, we aren't trying to stifle new opportunities for new members. We want everyone who joins this site to grow, find their place and have a story they can feel a part of. But do you not feel it's fair to present certain opportunities for members who have put in the work to have different types of events, abilities or permissions allowed if they can execute it well with the knowledge of being on this site for an extended period of time? There is only so much you can learn about something by JUST reading it before you need that hands-on experience.

Think of it like this: would you hand the keys of a sports car that can do 250MPH to 14-year-old Little Johnny with the only driving experience he has is being in Grand Theft Auto V? I don't think you would. You would want them to learn how this vehicle works, the in's and out's of it and then have them actually experience driving it with someone overlooking them until they were at a point where they could take the wheel for themselves and you'll have confidence their chances of fucking up and killing themselves and others are lowered with that experience.

That's all that we as staff look for in members. We judge experience by how they are able to interact with the community and staff alike, how they can resolve problems without resulting in some larger than life dramafest, if they are able to be trusted overtime not to abuse their characters in combat circumstances, if they know the core principle of the site is that we are just looking for story and not to hear you wank over your power and that ultimately you should be a pillar in the community that helps enhances our overall dynamic and brings more value to the table than when you first started.

Then, with enough post, threads, and interaction in the discord with the people of the site; you can call yourself an seasoned member after a year or two because you'll know how we operate and you'll be someone in the community folks can come to. It takes time because this site is massive, but anyone can make it here with enough experience.
