Should All Links Be On The Sidebar Again?

«RETURN OF THE OLD SIDEBARS»

I've got a question for you all: DO YOU PEOPLE WANT ALL THE LNIKS BACK ON THE SIDEBAR?

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile as I don't think the directory is effective. The original reason WHY it was made is that new members wouldn't feel overwhelmed when joining hte site, but it still feels like there is a lot of information to process that we are working on condensing. So, in the meantime, would members want to see the old sidebar where all the links were on the sidebar?

Let me know. I'm also open to alternative ideas.

I have a decently strong opinion about this. I don't think all links should be on the sidebar again, necessarily. If there's a logistics reason for them not to be, then alright. I can understand how they would be good for new members to have all laid out right there and us just be able to say 'look at the sidebar'. Maybe that is strong enough of a motivation. But I also think it's important to consider the option of putting up general topics on the sidebar instead, that lead to the current made directory's posts. Changing the total number of links from like 30 to like 6.

Lol, sorry 'bout that. Indeed, I'm still working on the synposis and consolidated information threads for the stuff that would normally be on the sidebar. That said, I do think that in the mean-time we put those links back up. especially since a lot of the sidebar, especially on the right side, was cleaned up, so I think the cluttered appearance would be less than it was before when the plan to have a sort of directory was first brought up.

My thoughts from Discord:

I get that maybe the side bar might have seemed cluttered, but the change only made it so you have to open an extra page just to do the things you used to be able to do

It's a little annoying because when I finish a post or when I'm doing something I'd just open a new tab from the side bar, but now I have to keep a tab open and swap to it just for time's sake

I know I haven't been back long, but I've had more difficulty explaining needing to go to the directory then scroll for the right topic and look for the right subtopic than I ever did just saying "check the side bar"
