From One Desert to Another

"Hmm...I suppose it wouldn't be fair to try anything now while you're clearly still recovering. So just assume that I mean later. Hollows are boring so fighting another actual competent foe would be pretty interesting." With that he hopped down from his spot as he nimbley landed on his feet. "I was just taking in the sights is all Minerva." He paused as he pondered before letting his thoughts be known. "Break-fast...?" The fox's head tilted aside. Such a concept wasn't exactly known to his kind. Taking a seat much like a feral creature would, he quickly realized such a position wasn't comfortable anymore. Shifting into a more proper position, his brow perked as he looked to the available food. Carefully he reached for what to him was a foreign substance, before taking a small bite. Instantly, his ears perked as his eyes opened wide. "Mmm...?"

Lex wasn't sure what to say at first, Minerva's older sister-like tone seeming to have come out of nowhere as she seemed rather concerned about his hygiene. Scratch that, both of their hygienes, as she mentioned Nina needing to take a bath as well. Unlike the rest of the humans, Nina was used to using the resources of the land like rivers, lakes and other things to bathe herself whenever necessary, so to hear Minerva mention about going to a spa of sorts made her think that perhaps the woman wanted her for a specific purpose. Or perhaps, she just wanted to be nice and the small vixen was just overanalyzing things. "Well it is rather convenient, but it's definitely necessary for survival. And uuuhhh... sure, we should go together some time." she finally answered.

Before Lex could answer Minerva's other question, the trio would hear Liacaru continue with his interest in fighting both Lex and Nina, making the man hum out in thought. "We'll have to see. For now, there's just too much to do and see. Speaking of which, to answer Minerva's question, we'll be heading to America. Our next artifact should be over there and it will help speed a lot of things up for us. Specifically, we'll be heading to New York, then Chicago and then wherever else, but we'll have to pass over the West Coast to get there. It'll be a a lengthy trip but I'll get us there as fast as we can." he mentioned with confidence, meanwhile the vixen was just nibbling softly on some crumpets, a bit curious of their taste since Minerva had offered them to her.

Minerva giggled softly at Nina’s reluctance. “Now don’t be so stuffy. You need to relax sometime. You can’t be so serious all the time.” Lex went into detail of the next destinations they would be going. “Hmm, America. I know a little about it from the museum...Oh I heard they have a famous city full of casinos and other nightlife with so many lights! Nina do you know what it was called? You went to the library, did you find anything about this place?” After her training she convinced herself she deserved a little vacation, a reward for her hard work. “Lex we should go there, don’t you think? We have been traveling for couple of days. A girl such as myself needs better accommodation. This forest is lovely but I hope camping out overnight won’t become a common occurrence. It’s not my style. So what do you say?” she asked looking at him with puppy dog eyes, leaning towards him not so subtly rubbing her breast against his arm.

After taking the first bite, the fox's pace quickened. Nom after nom, bite after bite, he looked to the others as they conversed. It wasn't till he heard talk of traveling that he began to speak. "Mmg..." He paused to take a swallow after realizing his mouth was still full. "I can't wait! So what's in america?" The fox inquired as he began to poor a cup of tea. Unknown to him, the contents where quite hot, but he soon learned as he flinched from a light sip. Lapping at his lips, the taste was quite pleasing, so much so that he was more than willing to take another even though it was very much still piping hot. "Mmph! W-what was this called again?" The spiritual being questioned while his tail wagged all the while. If one didn't know any better, it would seem like he was but a mere child, curious about most of the world, and eager to explore. Listening to Minerva's description did nothing to quell his excitement, so much so that he hopped up to lean on Minerva's shoulder. "Wow that sounds incredible! Even better than these treats! Which, thank you by the way!" Liacaru's thoughts began to run wild, so much so that the immediate area around shifted into that of a bright and bustling city. Tall buildings, and bright lights overtook the forest for what seemed to be a crude depiction of what Minerva described.

Nina couldn't help but give a nervous laugh at Minerva's remark at not being serious so much. In all truth, the vixen didn't feel that her demeanor could be any other way when it came to a group such as this, having to mostly be on edge around them from how strong they were. "Haha, well... I can try working on it I guess?" she mentioned, her tail swaying slightly side to side as she contemplated more on Minerva's words. When she began talking about America and asking if Nina had seen such information about the country, Nina's ears perked up as she immediately remembered that she had indeed compiled so much data from the public servers. "Oh! Actually, let me check. Can you give me the goggles Lex?" she asked, watching Lex pull out the blue-tinted goggles and hand it to her. She didn't waste time to adjust them over her face before she gave a thought, making the computer interface turn on within the ocular device before lines of text began to scroll over the lens, going over the many pieces of information pertaining to America and what they could expect to find in the cities that Lex had named in particular.

While she was doing that, Lex decided to answer the woman as he felt her rub up on her, feeling her soft body pressed up on him even through her clothing. . "I assure you Minerva that we won't be making a habit out of that. These forests were important, but we'll usually have somewhere that we can crash that will be in the cities that we're heading to-" he began, but found the area of the place to suddenly shift from a rather quiet forest to a far more noisy city, the loud chattering, honking, and sounds of general movement began to fill the man's ears. Lex instantly pulled away from Minerva with an intense glare, his hand already clutching at his magnum pistol and was already pointing in the opposite direction of the group, his aim shifting a few centimeters carefully at particular loud sounds that stood out. "Lex, you can relax. That wasn't an attack that was just Liacaru's illusions." came Nina's soft voice from beside him, the vixen still perched on his shoulder. Lex's expression eased as he started realizing the differences right away to some things standing out as not a perfect replication of a city before he holstered his weapon.

"Hmmm... Liacaru, I have to say I'm rather impressed at that ability of yours, but I'd really like it if you could warn us next time when something like that comes up... it's a bit too early for all of that... noise." he grunted, drilling his pinkie finger into his ear as he tried to get used to the shift from pure quiet to such random noises everywhere. "In either case, let's get going, we can discuss more on the plane." he finished, walking off towards the exit of the forest and back towards the plane. He was rather happy though that Liacaru was looking forward to it at least, knowing that he at least wanted everyone within the group to be satisfied with what they were doing. Meanwhile, Nina chimed at Minerva that she had brought up the necessary information on the goggles and that she could borrow them to read what she had currently pulled up on the lens for her to see, which included images, text, and even sound that could play for her to hear as well.
