From One Desert to Another
Mon Feb 26, 2018 6:24 pm
The beaming light of the rising sun finally peeked over the horizon, causing Lex's eyes to flinch before he groaned in displeasure at the sensation of the light going straight for his eyes. He glanced down to see the anthropomorphic form of Nina still resting the back of her head on his lap, hearing her breathe softly during her slumber. It wasn't long however before she had the same reaction however, grunting and slowly raising her hand up to block out the light from washing over her face. "Nnnn... this isn't you suddenly learning genjutsu or anything is it? Turn it off..." she mumbled, rolling herself up into a sitting position before slowly rubbing at her eyes. Lex couldn't help but laugh wholeheartedly at her remark before he hissed and tensed up, his hand instinctively going for the right side of his abdomen. "Haaah... don't make me laugh Nina, I still hurt all over.." he grunted and slowly rose himself onto his feet.
The vixen did the same, the scrapes and bruises of their battle from the night before having resurfaced now as she did so. Still, she managed to stretch herself fully and heard several muffled pops of her bones while she yawned out loudly, giving a light bounce back onto the heels of her feet as she exhaled in the same loud manner. "Ok, next time you want to make a point Lex, just ask me how many moves I have, I don't think your method is worth all of these damn aches." she grumbled before closing her eyes, falling into silence as she fully concentrated on transforming back into her feral form, more specifically, her Kisana State. It didn't take her but a minute, the moderately sized female being engulfed in a large puff of smoke before the small vixen took her place, giving another tired yawn before she hopped up to perch onto Lex's right shoulder. "Sorry, it was necessary. I wouldn't have been able to correctly assess your capabilities otherwise. Anyway, let's had back to the group." he mentioned before walking towards the cave opening where they had came in from.
A few minutes later...
Lex walked over towards the entrance of the forest and glanced around, wondering if he would find both Minerva and Liacaru. "Hey, you guys didn't disappear on me did ya?" he called out, half joking about his question as a part of him thought that Liacaru might have tried to leave from the area to go and search the city again. Still, even if he did, Lex was sure that a short search through the city limits of Karakura would have rewarded them with the small spirt fox. It wasn't something he was looking forward to though that's for sure.

With the dawn brought a warm and welcoming sunlight. Minerva had rested quite well after a whole day of exhaustive training. Underneath a tree she was siting on small blanket enjoining a cup of black tea she pulled from her pocket dimension along with a few biscuits. After every few sips, she breathed in the air taking in the nature around her, such a peaceful and remote location was appreciated as much as the hustle and bustle of a crowded and busy city.
In her seductive and feminine voice of hers, she hummed and sang a few words of a song to herself of a lullaby of centuries past she happened to remember. The language of the song had gone extinct long ago. She learned it from her friend who was a famous songstress in a forest that resembled this place. That must have been why the song popped into her mind this morning and as such couldn’t help but smile to herself remembering such simpler times.
In her nostalgia of singing the song, Minerva didn’t notice Lex and Nina approach until they were in her field of vision. After taking another sip with her pinkie outstretched, she smiled again. “Good morning to you two. It’s quite a lovely day isn’t it?” She closed her eyes to take another careful sip before opening them again, focusing on Lex. It seems you have a little dirt on your cheek, you should take better care of yourself, we can’t have you look so unkempt, now can we?” she said in a warm and motherly tone. Well, maybe like a caring sister since she barely looked old enough to drink. The serene atmosphere of the forest must have rubbed off on her it seems. “Here, take this” she outstretched her arms revealing a white handkerchief. “Why don't you come join me for some breakfast? It must taste better than some rations you have in the plane, I would think. And Nina my dear, you never did tell me what kind of food you eat...do you eat anything anyway?” She was quite the talkative one this morning.
