A Spiritual Awakening -Fusion of Systems Empty A Spiritual Awakening -Fusion of Systems

Mon Feb 19, 2018 5:49 pm

It was early in the morning, 6:30 a nice cool day, with little wind. The birds could be heard chipping and animals in the brush were scurrying around. Here in this sacred place, spirit energy was everywhere. Minerva had remember exactly what Nina had said and was grateful for her assistance. Now that she was alone she was going to see must how much she could improve without any distractions. Remembering the effect her spell had on Liacaru she knew that she achieved some limited success. This was quite the surprise which motivated Minerva even more and wanted to see what she could do with more effort. She took off her hat and gently placed it next to her on the right. She found a tree to sit under, closed her eyes and began to meditate.

This time detecting the spiritual energy around her was quite simple, at least with her eyes closed. Everything around her was clear and vibrant, the forest giving off many unique signatures and now the particles in the air was distinct. It will still be some time for her to be able to do so under normal, non meditation conditions.

Today however, she was doing exactly what Nina taught her, channeling her own spiritual energy. A little pressure inside her, her spiritual energy, she could feel more vividly at this time. It was small but it was a respectable start. Thanks to her natural enhanced cognition, she had already formulated a plan. Normally training like this would take a long time because of inefficient use of time and pacing. Minerva understood, that magical and spiritual training was like running an endurance race. Going to slow won’t do you much good and going too fast will wear you out. She could harness her spiritual energy at around few percentages in a given hour, which she calculated would require resting for 6 minutes every hour and 3, 30 minute breaks to eat. She would also need to be careful and she remain calm and breathed slowly at around 5-10 breaths per minute consistently. In order to save her precious magic, rather than using her healing magic, she made potions earlier to alleviate any physical effects liked headaches and nausea and other general ailments. With this, she could make progress without much wasted effort.

Thanks to her discipline and multiple millennia of experience she knew how to more efficiently harness her inner energy in many forms. Harnessing spiritual energy would just be another worthy addition in unlocking the secret of the universe since she could detect and manipulate other types of energy. For another two hours she could now have two separate flames in each hand burning bright, her spiritual energy now infused into two different things. Under normal circumstances, manipulating spiritual energy into a visual, physical, and tangible wouldn’t be doable. But she infused her spiritual energy with her native mana magic combing them to create something special. Forcing the spiritual energy to take form was intense. Such focus caused her to sweat and cause headaches and became so overwhelmingly draining that Minerva but she keep to her schedule and took the potions as needed. She gulped it down enthusiastically, letting science do it’s work. She hadn’t truly given up on her medicines. She always had an affinity to educate herself on both science and magic. After a small break she felt better and returned to duty.

She immediately continued her training trying to redouble her efforts. She pulled as much of her own energy out of her as much as she could. Little by little it was taking shape. Another five hours passed. She knew she was pushing herself quite strenuously, but she felt that this training was paramount. She was honest with herself and made sure to not lose focus while also noticing how much rest she was getting. You would think maintaining a proper balance of exertion and rest would be simple, a no brainer, but she was also mentally fatigue as well. Thinking straight becomes more challenging as time flew by. She understood her motivation. Not only was not being spiritual aware would leave her vulnerable, she was also annoyed that there some power that existed that she couldn’t use and was trying to currently rectify that. It annoyed her even more that she had to do something right now to work on it. This power would be added to the long list of abilities in her library once she found a way back home. If, of course, she found a way to return.

It was funny. She thought that maybe coming to this dimension would be a small vacation with nothing of any real significance would occur. Instead, she lost much of her power and even had to do real training. It was amusing that the predicament she was in turn out to be quite the twist. Another thing was meeting a resourceful; and determined Lex. She didn’t yet know what exactly was his end goal was. For now they were on a simple quest to recover his items. And then there is Liacaru, a dangerous spiritual creature, that neither one of them knew well yet.

After another hour, she was exhausted again and rested her head in her hands. She rested for a few minutes before jumping back into the training with more determination. Despite the hardship of the training it invigorated her, reminded her what it meant to yearn for something in a long time. A passion was starting to burn in her. Around this time she could maintain a fusion of the spiritual energy with her native magic. It felt like mix of paint while before it was as difficult as mixing oil and water. Because of this, the spiritual power propagated a little different than how others have utilized this power. This time she encompassed her self in her own spiritual energy as if it was an aura. It was still fuzzy and not well defined but it was getting there. It was one thing to have it around her as she sat, it was another trying to walk and have the aura stay around her. Fifteen hours into her training she finally able to walk and run while maintaining a constant aura without strenuous effort.

She looked around it was now night time. The guys would be worried if she gone for too long so she decide that this was a good time to stop. She would continue the training at another time but was satisfied with what she had accomplished.
