» Item Name: KG9
» Item Type: Exclusive to Aiko

» Used For: Combat/Offensive

» Item Description: During her travels, Aiko noticed that guns were indeed a popular item for both defensive and offensive purposes in the world of the living. Even in the spiritual realms, some notable names had managed to put them to good use. Despite the weapon being very different from what she was used to and what she enjoyed, she had to admit there was some definite flair to it. Just like a fashion choice that wasn’t really needed but that looked, oh so good, she had to have one of them. In an effort to replicate it, Aiko would look for information about earthly guns where she figured people knew best, and where she saw them used the most: movies. From it, she landed on the design of the M9, and worked from it to make it her own.

The material of the weapon, including the slide, its assembly, trigger mechanism, and the frame were made out of a combination of materials. Using both strong and resilient alloys as well as adding her own reiryoku into it allowed her to create a truly durable and resistant material that while it looks and feels like a metal, cannot be classified as such. Through the weapon, Aiko could run any kind of kido she possesses. Nothing truly changes when firing her kido from the weapon as opposed to from their hands. It’s just really cool. However, the weapon does have its own unique ammunition she devised for it. On her person, Aiko will usually carry up to five magazines, including the one already on the weapon. Beyond that, if need be, Aiko can either use her phantom tech or her kido storage to simply retrieve more magazines should she run out of ammunition. Likewise, in situations where she does not have her gun with her, she can retrieve it in a similar fashion. However, if using the ammunition from the magazines, she’s limited to 15 shots. The only exception is the magazine already on the weapon at the start of the fight, as adding the round on the barrel makes it a total of 16.

The construction of the rounds was actually something rather unique on her part. Borrowing some knowledge from the R&D at Seireitei, and using some of the resources available to her in her personal realm within the Soul King’s dimension, she was able to create a rather unique material. It involved her own spiritual energy, materials she had acquired in her own realm, and even soul synthesized silver, something typical of the Quincy. All those materials culminated in what looked like silver bullet housing. Once again, though it looked like metal, the combination of materials had instead created an element that was too different to be classified as such. Unlike conventional rounds however, these were not filled with gunpowder. Instead, they were prefilled with dense and pure kido of her creation. One ought to remember that Aiko is widely regarded as a kido goddess. Her mastership over the skill is such that she’s gone above and beyond what seemed to be the limits, and approaches a level that’s beyond understanding. In essence, they’re kido bullets. Unfortunately, the weapon is not without its own list of caveats; and she was okay with it. After all, it was never meant to be a powerhouse to end or decide battles. Instead, it was something that could be useful to her in battle, while looking pretty dam awesome. For starters, Aiko will never be able to have more than five magazines with her at any time. That means that should she fire all the rounds from them, she wouldn’t be able to use the weapon until she went ahead and made the necessary arrangements to get more. Also, regardless of her choice of storage and retrieval, be it through a kido box or through the storage available through her phantom tech abilities, it does not matter. Whenever she has used all five magazines and retrieves more, she will not be able to fire any rounds until an additional post has elapsed. That’s to accommodate for the time needed to place the extra magazines adequately on her person and load one into the gun.

The disadvantages unfortunately don’t just stop there. While usually the rounds fired behave like real rounds do, their effects are essentially based on tier and skill. When a round is fired, the slide of the gun moves back, ejecting the casing. From the barrel, the kido round is shot at extremely fast speeds that are highly dependent on her level of energy. Given the massive amounts of energy she possesses, she was able to link her power to affect the speed of the round fired. At a tier of 0-4, the bullets travel at a speed of Mach 4. At 0-3 the reaches up to Mach 6, and at 0-2 a maximum of Mach 8. Really, she thought they were a bit slow, but that’s as much as she could manage. In the real world rounds fired off a handgun can easily creep up and past Mach 2. Even with her own massive reservoirs of energy and the amount of power she funnels into it, that’s as much as she could do. As far as piercing power, it is also depends on her target and herself. Usually bullets are meant to enter and pierce through, and for all intents and purposes Aiko’s gun does too. Unfortunately against truly powerful spiritual beings, the rules don’t really apply the same. When facing against opponents with either Blut, Hierro, or a similar racial trait from their skill sheet, their mastery checks against Aiko’s kido mastery. If their mastery is higher than hers, then no matter what, the shots will not be able to pierce them; assuming it hits in the first place. Against opponents without specific racial traits in their skill sheets, then tier is used as a means to balance the technique. Anyone whose tier exceeds hers will also not be pierced by the rounds. Instead, in those scenarios, the rounds would behave more like the rubber bullets used in crowd control. They would not be able to pierce through and cause a grievous injury, but they could still deliver significant kinetic force and trauma in the form of a bruise that hurts a lot. The gun can also be equipped with a weapon-light.
