Mt Fuji you talking about?

So Ulv had mentioned Mount Fuji of all places. To go for an answer it didn't make quite the amount of sense he thought it would. Shinsui's eyes looked around as he'd hiked up it. Staying in the living world was fine enough, he was living with his mom now. He likely smelled of Aiko as he'd been around her a bit more. But that was fine as he came to the spot he was told to pray to someone. Was prayer the answer at this point to getting stronger? Did techniques and prayer truly equal the answer to his problems? He didn't feel like they did truthfully but perhaps that was his own stubborn nature. He wanted to know what the true meaning of strength was in this world. He wasn't sure about that or another thing. How was it each person despite problems in Karakura. He saw smiles and happiness, he wondered if that was true of most places. If there was an element that the warriors of the Unabara had forgotten. Had they lost humanity along the way. Had their smile died somewhere on the path of carnage?
It could be that the answer was just somewhere hidden. But one thing was clear the Unabara needed to change. As a Head of the family, he'd begun thinking about it. His father concerned himself with only military and only that sort of thing. Perhaps the answer to growing better was to face people and change. The Soul Society he at least new some strong folks in that area. People, he could go face and train himself relentlessly against the machine. Perhaps it was time for this journey among humans to end. He could return with his mother and find his challenges there. Techniques and skills took time and process, swordplay was a growing art. Something that didn't refine itself till much later in the line. Shinsui was beginning to understand that perhaps the easy road wasn't the right one. Maybe there was more to life than just casually jumping into the abyss. As he sat at the shrine he didn't pray but he did sit thinking. His father's mistake was doing things the easy way. He didn't care about others or worry about other people.
His father's selfish desire to reach power was meaningless. Power would consume a person, this was why he didn't want to rely on his zanpakuto for everything. Hatred was a meaningless burden and poison that could freeze a warrior's veins. His father never forgave or moved passed Tsubaki. So what needed to happen here was something different. Shinsui exhaled a soft breath as he thought on the subject. He hated him, but he hated more the idea of being bound. Of his father having some sort of grasp on him. He needed to let go of his father and this idea of surpassing him. It bound and choked Tetsuya to the point he sold his soul. They both were so consumed by power and what it meant to be powerful. They never stopped to think about the consequences of friends they burned. Did his father truly understand the problem he faced now? He got the power he so desperately sought to only lose everyone. Ibiki turned on him and he lost most of the people dear to him.
Forced to leave the Family he gave all his fire too. Shinsui had a choice to make, let go his desire there. He smiled and stood up slowly and glanced at the Shrine. "I won't ask for power, I think that perhaps in that itself power is something that is a poison. I believe that I need to find the meaning of strength. Perhaps guidance in that area would be good."

The Statue?
Inside the small shrine, was a large statue, almost touching the ceiling with how tall it stood. Broad-shouldered and muscular, he radiated power and strength. The statue's eyes were closed, but the general gait stood as if it was the owner of the shrine, rather than just a statue in it. At it's back sat a sword, of immense length. Such, was that it would be impossible for a person to draw it without some incredibly faffing about, so maybe it was ceremonial after all. That kind of sword was completely impractical. But, regardless, the craftsman had really gone all out with this one, it even looked life-like rather than carved from stone. Shinsui made his prayer, and then came back at midnight, as he was told to by Ulv. Probably feeling a little stupid, it was just a statue after all. What was it going to do to help him?
However, there was no statue. It was gone, living up to it's name as the Wandering Statue. A few more steps into the shrine, and then the doors slammed shut and a laughter filled the room.
"Long has it been, since I have had a man like you! Power itself is poison, for those who can not imbibe it. The meaning of strength is to learn how to wield power, so you do not disturb any other with it's presence. And then go out and fight! Fight men, eat good food. Fight men, drink good wine. Fight men, sleep with beautiful women! And then fight the beautiful women if they so desire! Ahh, Izanami..." The large, statue it seemed, was moving. And talking. And now reminiscing.
"It has been a long time since I engaged with a man who came looking for such guidance. I hope you aren't a scholar. Rusty as I may be, you might break!" The man exclaimed, loud and boystrious as his sword was drawn by some unseen force and then caught in his hand. With no further adieu, he took a large step forward and swung his blade. Some nine-foot of metal covered the entire shrine floor with the swing, and from the power within it, demanded blocking. now!. Unless Shinsui was ready to embrace life as half the man he used to be.

So it was true Ulv didn't bring him on a wild goose chase. He smiled as the answer did seem a good one. He got his answer to what was on his mind in the long run. He could help but chuckle as he began to realize what was going on here. His digits hung on his blade's hilt deciding he may be needing it here. It was a strange thing to sense an impending battle of some sort. Shinsui listened quietly as the question finally was posed to him.Was he a Scholar seemed to be the question of the mind of the being. " I don't find myself to be much of a scholar.I am a warrior who just has seen the way power corrupts and poisons a certain person." True be told he'd seen it come from several cases at this point. Power was a well of poison that drowned those who got too close. They weren't able to truly escape from that world. They would drown themselves forgetting the job and duty they had. Shinsui could only sigh at that dream that seemed to continue. His eyes had adjusted a bit more and unlike his match against his mother. He did learn to do far more than just swing and flail around.
He drew his sword and blocked the blow as he ran forward. Deciding it best to strike as he kept the large weapon blocked. His muscles tension feeling tight as he moved closer. It was time to fight this figure to the best of his capabilities. His eyes stared forward as he found his way towards the big creature. Sparks flew from his blade as he made sure to move somewhat. Closing the distance quickly he made a horizontal slash cutting at the figure's midsection. The blade would strike against the creature's body if it connected. His body felt tight from taking that slash that it sent. Dodging was an option of course in that moment. But it was about time he moved forward with his strength. Shinsui was learning he was stronger then he thought sometimes. Figuring out just how much was hard to tell at times. He doubted this would settle it as he turned himself quickly in mid-air. Prepared to block or defend the next blow.
Be agile and strong were the two things he echoed in his mind. As he knew this was far from over. It was a strong being way outside of the boundaries he was expecting. This being was obviously strong and could handle a strike such as that. His gaze didn't change as he landed on the ground softly. This was gonna be a duel where he gained something he suspected. This figure was testing him as something. Shinsui didn't know what it would be that took him. He decided himself where he planned to go. Shinsui no longer had a desire to reach a Captain or become something simple. He headed for Zero Divison, he wished to serve there instead of just the Gotei. Shinsui's desire and goal was clear from the beginning. His mother only made that goal and objective more clear. Now he held an answer he respected and accepted for what power truly meant. His crimson eyes showed a fire in them of accepting those words. He truly would embody that till the day he fell from this earth.

The Crying Diety
He blocked the first swing and responded with grace and courage, not being perturbed by the size of the man or blade. Coming in close, he made a strong swing that grazed across the man's chest as if he really was made out of stone, and then backed up to defend himself from the next strike. The man watched for a few seconds, and then gave another burst of laughter.
"Good! Good! You are a solid beginner. You might find naught but defeat if you cross blades with the masters of the world, but you have a solid foundation. You will make a fine a show of my return. After over a thousand years, Futsunushi shall return to the world!" He exclaimed, laughing deeply.
This man, shared a name with a God of Shintoism. It was entirely possible that, given his age and apparent skill, he was the inspiration behind the God that they knew today. If so, well. He could do worse than a God of Swords as a teacher for swordsmanship. The Man then grasped his sword with both hands, and stepped forward, the blade was so big, he was so muscular, and yet the swing was fast enough to catch most mortals clean off their guard. All the while, the blade seemed to softly resonate with some strange energy, something that could not be accurately felt, only known about.
The blade would crash down, with a specific designation to destroy defenses, and so - unbeknown to Shinsui - to block it would cause his Zanpaktou to crack from the force. Zanpaktou were some very sturdy tools, so it was unlikely to break outright, but to take such a shot would not do it's structural integrity any favours at all.

Shinsui saw the next attack coming and the question was a roll of the dice. Did he attempt to block the blow with his zanpakuto? The downward strike was extremely potent and could crack the ground. He could attempt a block but his instincts told him that would be unwise. In terms of power, he could only dream to match this man in a one on one. So the next lesson was to observe this sword how it fell. Such speed and control of the sword brought about. The angle was bringing about a speed and strength few could only dream of. So the question was did he have the speed and nature to move. He did as he decided it best to move away from the blow. The blast of force it created was impressive. That technique was impressive and could do a staggering amount of damage. Was it a technique truly or just the way this being wielded his sword? Could he comprehend a God's Swordplay? Could a man hope to bring something equal to the foot of someone? Ripple was the only move he'd learned thus far using a Sword.
The good news was his mother drilled him on stamina relentlessly and now using it wasn't so bad. Shinsui brought his blade up as he used his footwork. Making sure to move around with some expertly defined steps. He felt the pulse beneath the ground and the world beneath him. The surge of vibrations as the blade came down sending tiles. Swaying around he weaved around them before using a bit of speed. He shot forward and imagined a ripple making a swing at the figure's body. But as the blade came to strike it disappeared completely. It was a faint but something happened as a feint appeared in several areas. Shinsui was combining feints with his swordplay now. He'd only learned recently how to do it more properly and was seeing his beginning. His eyes focused with relative calm and brought the real blade down quickly. He made a vertical slice this time and slid past the figure. He was trying to be faster, trying to be quicker. But something about his body felt lighter as he continued moving.
He knew well enough that wouldn't do much again. It was an interesting game of cat and mouse. The problem was, he was the mouse in this situation. Though from what he could tell his moves did have an effect. He wasn't sure what kind of effect they had in the long run. Shinsui's eyes focused a bit further as he studied. The situation had changed a large deal. He was getting what he gathered was a lesson on swordplay from this being. Studying that strike did bring about options and thoughts. Fast and strong with a potent energy, he could perform that couldn't he? Did he need to bring it down in a vertical slice like that? He wasn't entirely sure as he breathed softly. He was controlling his breathing carefully as he kept moving. Feel the world move beneath your feet and react accordingly. He focused and kept his mind on this figure who seemed a deity. It was a promising encounter with much going on within it. Shinsui didn't know what else to call it but a clash between a Sword God and a Swordsman.

The Crying Diety
His strike, was dodged. And casually at that. He had no trouble with getting out of it's way despite the speed, it's length and the enclosed space giving little chance to move. Which meant that this guy was a lot stronger than he let on, and it was time to stop pussy-footing around. Was almost like he was being tricked or something. Still, he reigned in that anger, because he wasn't being tricked, they were just on a different spectrum that he couldn't sense, it seemed. And while that was still pretty slimy, he couldn't fault them for that.
What he could do, was turn them into salami and then pick up the pieces if they survived. So he let go of his sword as the man was rushing towards him, and it hovered there, as if controlled by some unseen force. When the feints came, followed by the real blade, Futsunushi used his own creation. A rank 8 technique, Flashing Vengence. Despite it being midnight, and all the windows and doors were shut, the blade shone and then was many places at the same time, parrying every strike, both real and fake, with force befitting a Yu-Shan Cultivator.
Then it shuddered, power blossoming from it in a semi-physical link to the man, before it began to spin, a rapid revolution that would fill basically the entire shrine. Almost as if the shrine had been created to the exact specifications of the blade, with a view to leave nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide. The only two options were to meet the blade with your sword, or your body. And the body was probably not going to be able to take anything remotely resembling a hit from a man like that.
