» Personality: Ninati is one of those people whose personality is never truly uncovered or figured out. She's one of those cute little silent types and has a large side of curiosity mixed in with it. She doesn't speak very often, and this is by her own preference and some shyness. Her preference to be silent has taught her to be very expressive physically. She speaks mostly through her sister or exaggerated body language and facial expressions. She is a little childish as well, so those types of expressions are often used: sticking out her tongue, flailing her arms, hitting people when they do something wrong, or rolling her eyes and pouting when she's upset. The list goes on and on. The rare occasion that comes with her laughter is when people would more often year the mousy voice that Ninati has. Since Ninati thinks the sense of 'humor' most people have is dumb, she doesn't laugh very often. When she does, it usually surprising that she has a voice.

Ninati isn't as shy as people would think she is. Her silence often makes people think she is, but those around her will know that's not the case. Ninati just doesn't open up to people very easily, and for reasons that even Ninati doesn't understand, she doesn't really like to talk. When she has no choice but to speak, Ninati has an easier time talking to other women. Men make her nervous a lot of the time. When men come around, she becomes a clumsy wreck and this comes from her Mother. Years of hearing that men were cruel liars and manipulators who would harm you just because you said something wrong or looked at them in a way they didn't like left Ninati feeling vulnerable to them. Since Ninati wasn't entirely aware of her Mother's sarcasm and abandonment issues, she took a lot of what her Mother said to heart. So, for Ninati, the only good man in the world was her Father. There are rare ones out there that might be nice, but her Father was likely it!

Ninati is a very intelligent young woman, probably more so than people would give her credit for. Her curiosity, willingness to learn, and enjoyment of reading has allowed her to collect a great deal of facts, much of them often random or read out of some book. Sheh also has a habit of wanting to experience things. When people aren't looking her way, and sometimes even when they are, Ninati has a habit of letting her curiosity get the best of her. Something that is pretty, strange, or new will compel her to touching it. Since she's also a bit of a klutz, she has been known to knock things over, break valuables, and marking up antiques with fingerprints because she can't help but touch it. If something catches her attention and is able to pique her interest, she'll feel compelled to hold it, study it a bit. It's her way of getting to know something. If she doesn't do it, or is kept from doing it, it will drive her crazy until she's distracted by something else.

When you first look at Ninati, you may see a bright eyed young girl. She seems easy to talk to, even if she doesn't easily respond back. She doesn't have a mean look at all. Unfortunately, Ninati has proven to be a bit cold at times. Using the situation with her Mother as an example, Ninati doesn't seem to truly care about anything, even her sister. She does not express love or care really at all. There are a few times that she has done it, like when she reunited with Fel, but those times are once in a blue moon. She's not mean and it'd be difficult to outright call her a bitch, but her inability to express herself in the normal ways that others do is sometimes detrimental. During times of excitement, Ninati will be the one standing there silent and nodding once, while others are cheering to celebrate. She's the one that doesn't cry when she loses a friend and shrugs when people ask her why. The fifteen years of watching her Mother die left Ninati's heart quite cold.



» History: The day their Mother died was like any other day. Riina Karia had been sick for the last fifteen years. With her health slowly deteriorating, the day she actually closed her eyes to never wake up didn't feel that different than any other day to her youngest daughter Ninati. Normally, you'd think a child would feel something about the loss of their mother, but with Ninati that wasn't the case. She said nothing on the day of her Mother's passing. She didn't even shed a tear. Those around her never understood why, and likely never will. The few times she speaks of it, even Ninati isn't sure why she felt little to nothing when her Mother died. She has her own theories. Theory number one was that she never felt close to her Mother in the first place. Maybe it was that separation that made her feel nothing. The second theory was the one Ninati thinks is the truth. The second theory is that Ninati had watched her Mother slowly die for so long that she had already accepted the reality and had possibly said goodbye to her Mother years ago. And if that was the case, which she is sure it was, there was too large of a gap between her and her Mother for Ninati to care.

The lack of a relationship between Ninati and her Mother created a rift between her and her sister. Felayn was closer to their Mother and didn't understand whether Ninati didn't understand what the death meant or that she really did not care. Later on, Felayn came to understand that Ninati just felt nothing about it. Ninati understood that her mother was gone, but nothing more than a shrug or nod was her reaction to it. Felayn withdrew herself from Ninati for a while, which allowed Ninati to explore her own life for a while. She discovered an interest in the Gotei 13, having remembered stories her Mother told about the organization. She couldn't find much information about it until she met a woman named Abalia. Quickly enamored with Abalia's beauty, Ninati followed her around for a while. It wasn't only to ask about the Gotei, but to see what Abalia was like. Abalia quickly learned that Ninati was a curious child who was eager to learn. After a couple of weeks of learning, she asked Abalia to take her to the Soul Society in order to join Shino Academy. Abalia agreed to it, so Ninati left for a new world, leaving only a letter of goodbye for her sister.

The Soul Society wasn't what she expected. She was first introduced to the slums of the Rukongai. Moving from cities and the tech-savvy Earthen Realm to what was a primitive world surprised her. Abalia showed Ninati to the Seireitei, which was more advanced than the Rukongai, but still surprising in appearance. Soon, she was shown all the way to Shino Academy and enrolled that same day. There, she said goodbye to Abalia and went on with her own new adventure. She was told that she had a surprising amount of reiryoku for someone who had never trained. Ninati knew she had some, but wasn't aware of the amount. Because she had no previous exposure to actually using reiryoku, the first order of business was for Ninati to study using and controlling it. Then she would be able to move on to other subjects and hopefully become a full fledged Shinigami. After some time at the Academy, Ninati was given her Asauchi. She was told to spend every single day with it, so she did. The sword never left her side, even if she were showering or sleeping. She cleaned and polished it like it was a cherished antique. It became her most valuable possession.

It was two years since she last saw her sister. Her studies were going well. She was one of the average students in the class, but because a lot of the other students played around a lot, Ninati had higher grades than they did. She was a very focused girl, fascinated with becoming a Shinigami. She didn't take the time to make friends, but she didn't avoid them when they happened either. She ended up part of a small group of friends that just talked during lunch hours. One of these lunches, someone from the Gotei came to her and explained that they had detained a woman claiming to be her sister. Ninati didn't believe this of course, so she shook her head and walked away. They returned two days later, but Ninati once again declined them, refusing to believe Fel had come to see her. The third time they came, they tried to order Ninati, but she flailed her arms, put a hand in their face, and shook her head angrily before running away. The fourth time, they were so desperate that they begged her just to come see the prisoner. Ninati finally gave in and to Ninati's surprise, it was her sister. An overly excited Ninati found herself hugging Fel through prison bars soon after a rather adorable moment of pointing at Fel and looking back to the guards as if they understood her silence. They obviously didn't, but on that day Ninati was happily reunited with her big sister.



» Equipment:

Soul Shell: Ninati doesn't leave the Soul Society often since she's still in school, but ever since she reunited with her sister, visits to the World of the Living come a bit more frequently. She buys a pack of five every now and then. However, she doesn't often use them since most people are spiritually aware.



» Racial Abilities:

Physicality: Ninati's naturally petite body allows for a more speedy and agile approach to just about anything she does. Her body isn't one to really build muscle, however, that does not mean she can't tone herself up to gain some decent strength. Ninati's agility is less that of a gymnast and more of an Olympic runner. Though her movements aren't fluid, their quite and precise, a sharp as a knife's edge. Ninati can take a bit of a punch, but she concentrates her training on dodging to not test her durability.

Hand-to-Hand: Basic training is what she's got in this. Hand-to-hand techniques aren't her thing. She isn't one to learn jujitsu, taekwondo, karate, or anything like that. It's too up close and personal for Ninati.

Swordsmanship: Even though it's up close and personal, similar to hand-to-hand, this is Ninati's preferred way of training and fighting. She is okay with picking up a blade, or some other tool, in order to take out an enemy. The idea of her own body coming into contact with another in order to harm them in some way doesn't sit well with her. Among her classmates, Ninati is an above-average practitioner for basic and advanced training in swordsmanship. Using her speed to her advantage, she is able to execute proper technique, along with precise and accurate attack, while making sure to maneuver and dodge correctly.

Zanjutsu: Ninati began her training in zanjutsu the moment she entered the Academy. She's an above average practitioner among those in her classes. Her speed and agility give her a bit of an advantage.

Hoho: The first time Ninati saw someone perform anytype of Hoho, she became fascinated with it. It's the most common used technique in the Shinigami's' arsenal, so she knew it would be easy to figure out. Having proven herself right, Ninati is much more skilled in the specific technique shunpo, or flash step, over any other Hoho ability. Her natural affinity for speed has allowed her to advance her flash step quickly.

Kido: Ninati is decent at reiryoku control and execution, but she isn't that decent of a kido user. Among her classmates, she can be ranked below-average. Her kido are always stable, but lack power, force, and often fall flat to the ground. Her dislike of talking makes kido difficult for her to use. She doesn't use words well enough to implement them in something as complex as kido. It's a bit out of her league.

Hakuda: Hakuda is not something she has studied yet. She has seen it being studied, but it's one of the few arts that actually doesn't interest her. She dreads the time that she has to take the class at Shino Academy.
